WELL, WE JUST ARRIVED HERE AND THE BIG STORY FOR THE MOMENT IS THE LINE IN SPECIFICALLY AROUND TERMINAL B IN THE DEPARTURES AREA. OKAY, SO I'M STANDING NEAR THE TICKETING AREA OF SOUTHWEST AIRLINES. AND TYPICALLY WE SEE AN UPTICK IN AIRLINE PASSENGER TRAFFIC AT THE AIRPORT AT THIS TIME OF DAY WHEN THOSE EARLY FLIGHTS ARE TAKING OFF. BUT WE DON'T USUALLY SEE THIS. AND THAT IS A LINE WRAPPED AROUND THE ENTIRE DEPARTURES AREA OF THE TERMINAL. AND WHAT WE'RE TOLD IS BY THE PEOPLE IN THE LINE THAT THEY ARE ALL WAITING TO BOARD THEIR SOUTHWEST AIRLINES FLIGHTS. THEY'RE WAITING TO GET TO THE TICKETING COUNTER HERE. AND MY PHOTOGRAPHER MATT, IS PAN ING AROUND THE ENTIRE TERMINAL HERE, SO YOU CAN GET THE SENSE OF JUST HOW LONG THIS LINE IS. NOW. AGAIN, ALL OF THIS WE BELIEVE STEMMING FROM THIS INTERNET OUTAGE, AN AT&T INTERNET OUTAGE THAT HAPPENED THIS MORNING THAT IS AFFECTING SOUTHWEST AIRLINES AND DID, AT LEAST FOR A TIME, AFFECT DELTA FLIGHTS AS WELL. BUT FOR RIGHT NOW, WE ARE SEEING THE VERY LARGE IMPACT THAT IT IS HAVING ON THE SOUTHWEST TERMINAL. ACCORDING TO THE AIRPORT, ANY PERSON WHO HAS A FLIGHT SCHEDULED ON A SOUTHWEST AIRLINES FLIGHT AT SOME POINT TODAY, Y YOU'RE GOING TO NEED TO CHECK WITH YOUR AIRLINE LINE, CHECK WITH SOUTHWEST, OR CHECK, CHECK WITH DELTA TO SEE HOW THIS AT&T INTERNET OUTAGE IS AFFECTING YOUR FLIGHT. BUT ACCORDING TO ONE OF THE PASSENGERS, I SPOKE WITH BRIEFLY WHEN WE ARRIVED HERE AT THE SCENE AND GOT A CHANCE TO TALK TO ONE TRAVELER, HE SAID THAT HIS FLIGHT SO FAR HAS NOT BEEN CANCELED, BUT THAT LOTS OF TRAVELERS ARE FACING WHAT WE ARE ONLY SEEING SEEING FIRSTHAND FOR OURSELVES. AND THAT IS EXTENSIVE LINES WRAPPING AROUND THE ENTIRE TERMINAL. SO WE ARE OUT HERE. WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO TALK WITH TRAVELERS ABOUT THEIR, UH, EXPERIENCE AND WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN HEARING FROM THEIR AIRLINES. BUT ACCORDING TO SMF, I REACHED OUT TO THEM A LITTLE BIT EARLIER. THE BEST THING THAT THEY CAN ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO DO, TO DO IS TO TALK WITH THEIR AIRLINES SPECIFICALLY RILEY. ACCORDING TO AN AT&T OUTAGE MAP, THIS ISN'T A SITUATION THAT IS GOING TO BE REMEDIED UNTIL PERHAPS. 449 THIS AFTERNOON, BUT IF IT GETS BACK ON LINE SOONER, ALL THE BETTER FOR THE TRAVELERS OUT HERE AGAIN, WE'LL BE OUT HERE TALKING WITH TRAVELERS AND WE'LL REPORT BACK IN JUST A BIT.
