Cam Rising Injury Worse Than We Thought

Intro all right what is up Utah fans this is Joseph back with the Utah UTS football digest and some concerning news was made official today cam rising's injury is worse than we previously thought um it it is not good just to give you guys an idea here is the quote from the article there's a KSL article uh who wrote it just to make sure I get by Josh Newman uh in the article it says I wasn't really this is from camera in I wasn't really expecting to do this but I just want to let everyone know I didn't just tear my ACL he goes on I tore my Meniscus MFL and MCL it was a big surgery and it's not an easy comeback I've been working my tail off so we previously knew that cam Rising had torn his MCL but then on top of that it looks like he tore his miniscus MPL I mean mpfl and MCL now I am not a doctor by any means or a surgeon but I know an ACL injury is a serious injury and I know an MCL injury is a very serious injury as well you combine that on top of miniscus on top of mpfl scary stuff guys really has you shaking a little bit it's it's tough to know where Cam Rising is and I I think my number one area of concern is what this means moving forward I I think there's some we're about to break down the rest of the article and the rest of the quotes but uh there are there's some areas for optimism but overall it might leave you a little pessimistic about cam rising's December henden hooker who tore his ACL in no member who have decided not to play this season I'm grinding and doing this is from cam Rising I'm grinding and doing everything I possibly can even the fact that I'm going out there and practicing I'm ahead of schedule I'm trying to make sure I can be out there because nobody wants me to be out there on the field grind or I'm trying to make sure I can uh be out there because nobody wants me to be out there on the field grinding with those guys more than me but um sorry it's tough I got my camera in front of me or my light in front of me but at the end of the day it's my body my body has to recover and there's not really anyone that can say much besides the best doctor in the world Dr Ella trach down in La can say and just to give you guys an idea this elrae I think that's how you say it um he's cam ryzen's orthopedic surgeon he's the team doctor for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Rams man that guy must be freaking loaded huh he must be a a lot of money worth a lot of money that guy um and has seen overall overseen the rehabilitation process in conjunction with the Utah athletic Department's own medical personnel But ultimately uh El trach has the final say and let me comment on something there I think that's a good sign guys that he's working with one of the best in the world and I know it's been frustrating up to this point but I'd say it's kind Rumors of a good thing that this doctor is being optim a little conservative with bringing cam back right because from what the rumors are and I want to be clear right I do not um I do not have any info on this I'm from what I understand the rumor is that you this is totally rumors I'm not sure if this has been written anywhere the rumor is that that the Utah medical staff has cleared cam to play and that it is elra Cam surgeon that has not cleared cam to play so um I'd say that's pretty optimistic um Whittingham commented on it you have to ask his doctor um we hope to uh know early next week rather than later in the week what the situation is I think one of the problems we've had is we've been waiting until the end of the week but we're going to get an answer early next week as to what's going on so that means we'll probably see a better game plan made for whichever quarterback it is uh this is no longer Kyle talking I'm just I'm speaking on my own that means we'll get a better game plan for whichever quarterback it is um Whittingham said if Cam ryzen cannot go versus Cal it's Nate Johnson starting for the third straight game with either Rose or bti batari serving as Johnson's backup uh Rising went on I haven't really talked to any doctors other doctors about my knee uh he's referring that he's only talk to elra uh so just continuing to improve each and every day I know I'm getting closer I need to keep making days count and hopefully soon I'll be ready to go I'm doing everything I possibly can to make sure I'm improving and at some point your body has to heal the way it has to heal it's unfortunate it's not exactly the way I expected this season to go but these are the cards that I've been dealt stressful to hear all this huh guys you feel bad for Cam and if you listen to this um the interview on ESPN 7700 with Bill Riley you could hear hear it in his voice man he's he's annoyed he wants to be back he feels bad the fans don't have info so he kind of came out here gave the fans some info and just kind of told us what's going on okay so this is where I am after that My Thoughts article just to give you guys my thoughts it feels tough to say he's good to go at Cal it feels tough to I like say that with any confidence right but it feels like he's not planning on a medical red shirt this year which a lot of rumors have been going on with a lot of fans saying that maybe it's best for cam to Medical red shirt what I hear from this article is that he's not ready to go yet he wants to be get ready to go as soon as possible he's way ahead of schedule he's working his freaking tail off and you know we all love cam if you're a Utah fan you don't love cam I don't know what you're doing but that's where we are It's just tough to say he's going against Cal after that article or after that interview right but it is optimistic in the sense that it feels like there's a good chance that he is ready to go at some point this year I mean why would he be doing all this work to get ahead of schedule and be on the team if if he didn't have a shot at playing this year I mean I would say for me like I said just to reiterate It's just tough CH tough tough to get anything from that about when he's ready but it feels like he's really close right like wit said he can't game plan around cam right now because they can't know at the end of the week that Cam's not in and then it's a nightmare for their offense which might explain what we saw against Oregon State right why they were so miserable against Oregon State but it does feel like the cam timeline is a real timeline I don't know when the timeline is and how quick it is but it was a terrible injury and cam seems pretty dead set on coming back at some point this year so really we just need to keep chugging through um I've made some comments that if Cam's not in against Cal it makes me feel really pessimistic about him being back long term for this year but after this article and these comments I actually taking a step back I'd say even if he's not back against Cal it feels like cam is clearly going to be back this year I want to know what you
