4 Breakout Rookies You Must Draft || 2024 Fantasy Football

Intro what's up everybody I'm Nick whan from Roa wire in this video I'm going to tell you about four breakout rookies that I want rostered in as many leagues as possible this fantasy football season let's get right into it we start at the Jayden Daniels quarterback position we're going to Jane Daniels of the Washington commanders and look I like Caleb Williams as well I think he's going to have a fine rookie year but it's all about the rushing floor this season that janen Daniels projects to provide for the commanders over at Roa wire we have Daniels projected for well over 500 rushing yards five rushing touchdowns I think those are real istic I think they're fine but they could end up being conservative honestly given just how Dynamic Daniels was at LSU over the last two seasons that projection it puts him in a similar neighborhood to Kyler Murray his rookie year back in 2019 he rushed for 544 yards and four touchdowns and 16 games mind you and finished as the qb7 back in 2019 Murray had 20 passing touchdowns he had 12 picks that year neither of those you know all that crazy but the rushing ability is what helped him to six weeks with at least 22 fantasy points him a nice comfortable floor on a weekly basis I think Jane Daniels is going to provide the exact same thing for the Washington commanders now he's going to have to prove he can match Kyler Murray as a passer of course but he's got reasonable weapons and Terry mclen and Johan doson you know they brought in Austin Eckler who is Austin Eckler at this point in his career but he he's capable of catching passes out of the back field as well and of course his offensive coordinator is the same guy who coached Kyler Murray as a rookie in Arizona in Cliff Kingsbury now Health that is a very real concern for Jaden Daniels can he make it through a 17 Game season at the NFL level this is a guy who Took a ton of big hits at LSU last season he's not afraid to put his body on the line on the one hand you like that ability on the other he's going to have to curb it at the NFL level but if he can stay on the field it's very easy to Dream On the kind of fantasy production Jaden Daniels can provide from day one now in real life I think Caleb Williams is going to be the better long-term quarterback but that doesn't really matter Daniels to me uniquely positioned as a Young quarterback whose fantasy value can ultimately exceed his real life production by good margin early in his career back in 2019 nobody was saying Kyler Murray was better than Aaron Rogers or Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes but he was the better fantasy asset and really that's all that matters you look at where Jaden Daniels is going right now qb1 qb2 QB 13 depending on where you look outside of that top 10 quarterback group in terms of QB ADP to me Daniels has easily easily the highest upside especially if the commander is truly unleash him as a runner so if you're looking for safety you know maybe wait a little bit take Matthew Stafford take Jared gof take somebody like that if you want that upside you want a rookie you could break out right away go with Jaden Daniels next on our list we got a tight Brock Bowers end Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders it's week one of the preseason I know we don't want to read too far into it but I loved how the Raiders utilized Brock Bowers in their preseason opener he was all over the field only played a couple of series but he was lined up of course at tight end they used him out wide they used him in the slot even lined up for a couple stabs at fullback caught a pass out of the back field for a first down hopefully that is a preview of how they plan to use Brock Bowers get him all over the field get the ball in his hands as much as they can now nobody's all that fired up about the Las Vegas offense and understandably so it's Garner muu it's Aiden oconnell but that doesn't change the fact that Brock Bowers is a generational tight end Prospect I think the situation is similar in some ways to Malik neighbors with the Giants if you're in on the leag neighbors you think he can overcome Daniel Jones and this Giants offense that hasn't produced an 800 yard receiver in what six years why can't Bowers do the same in Las Vegas now there is competition at Brock Bower's own position on this roster and the form of Michael Mayer which is weird in terms of draft pick allocation but you don't take Brock Bowers and and say yeah it's going to be a time share we want both of these guys to succeed now I think the Raiders have plans for both mayor and Bowers to be on the field together I think we see plenty of two tight end sets we see plenty of 12 Personnel but they're not splitting Michael Mayer out wide they're not putting him in the slot like they will be with Brock Bowers and again nobody's all that excited about the quarterbacks here I get it Garner muu Aiden oconnell it's not a great quarterback room but it's not a total disaster right this isn't eastn stick it's not Zach Wilson or Tim Bole these guys aren't limited quarterbacks so you have to completely scheme your offense around just to survive if you're going to have shaky quarterback play you want it to be with guys like Garner mchu and a ell they could be high volume passers they're not afraid to push the ball down the field they're not afraid to take risks it may not be good for the Raiders in real life in terms of number of games won but I don't see this as a disastrous fantasy quarterback situation as it pertains to Brock Bowers in terms of acquisition cost in ESPN leagues right now you could get Brock Bowers well after pick 100 if we're talking ninth 10th round I'm fine taking a shot on Bowers backing him up maybe with a boring veteran a little bit of a fail safe later in the draft I'm a big Jake Ferguson guy so I do take him over Brock Bowers but after that that's when I start zoning in on Bowers he tends to go about a round behind Jake Ferguson Give me the upside of Brock Bowers over someone like Dallas GD TJ hackinson Dalton Schultz after Bowers when you start to look at the ceiling of some of those veteran players it really really drops off a cliff if you're list Blake Corum Blake Corum of the LA Rams going a little bit deeper now not necessarily guys who are going to be in your fantasy lineup right away but I'm keeping a very close eye on Blake corm both throughout the preseason and in the early regular season for the Rams this time of year every player is in the best shape of their life everybody's lighting up camp it's all positivity but historically the LA Rams they don't gas players up just for when John McVey says that Blake km is stood out and he loves the way he handles himself it means more to me than the usual coach speak especially when we're talking about a third round pick there's a real level of investment here for the LA Rams taking a taking a running back in the third round that's like taking a running back in the second round a few years ago that's just kind of how running back value has started to shake down now the Rams do of course still have kyen Williams that's the elephant in the room he was the clear Workhorse a season ago he led the NFL in carries per game he was near the top of the league in success rate brok a tackle rate that's all well and good Kyon Williams will be the guy to start the season but will he see north of 80% snap share again I don't think so I think Blake corm and coaches on that right away now does that mean Blake korm will be startable in fantasy leagues to begin the year probably not but I want him on my roster I want to see how that workload develops over the first few weeks and a big part of the reason I want Blake corm is I don't trust kyen Williams to stay healthy Williams missed five games a year ago he's dealt with lower body injuries before he was battling a foot injury earlier in the summer when Williams is healthy will absolutely be in the mix but if or perhaps when Kyon Williams misses time Blake warm will be incredibly sought after as a fantasy asset he's instantly a top 10 to 12 back any week cin Williams is out I don't always love paying for a handcuff in drafts but km's price is still pretty reasonable we're talking 11th or 12th round and at that point to me corm is absolutely worth the investment that puts him in the same range as other backs who have major questions like Gus Edwards Trey Benson Chase Brown Zack shanet give me the upside of Blake cor last but not Le Kimani Vidal least another running back who's kind of developing into one of my late round Darlings this season kamani bell of the LA Chargers talked a lot about Bell and some other videos you hear a lot of talk about him on our radio show as well it's all about opportunity for the LA Chargers bell comes in now as a sixth round pick out of Troy not a ton of draft Capital there but this the guy who ranked second in the country in Miss tackles Force last season he was near the top of the nation in terms of explosive play rate as well he's a good pass blocker I think that should keep him in the mix early on for the Chargers he's the most most explosive option in this backfield that's not something the Chargers have a ton of in that running back room right now videll averaged over 11 yards per reception at Troy last season didn't catch a ton of passes we hope that volume increases as he gains experience in the NFL but what it comes down to is kamani badell is capable of doing things that Gus Edwards and JK Dobbin simply are not we know what Gus Edwards is at this point he's a fine lower level NFL starter if you need to plug a guy in there give him the ball 12 or 13 times yeah he he can get that done for you I'm not really all that worried about JK Dobbins you know you could argue there's a little more upside there but he's one of the most injury-prone players at his position in the entire NFL he's had multiple major injuries including a torn Achilles last season that he's still working back from I'm not expecting videll to be a major fantasy contributor right away there there's probably going to be some waiting periods at the beginning of the year new OC for the Chargers Greg Roman he's got familiarity with Edwards and Dobbins he probably leans that way early on but as the season goes on the Chargers are going to need some level of explosion in this offense they're not going to find in the passing game they're not going to find it with Gus Edwards or JK Dobbins that's where kamman videll comes in this is a team that wants to run the ball they want to establish a new identity in a deeper League I'm holding kamani videll with the expectation that he'll work his way into a larger workload as the season goes on but in a shallower league in your home League Draft you don't even have to draft Kam viel right now he's going around pick 170 in ESPN leagues but keep a very close eye on him early in the season be ready to pounce on the waiver wire when that time comes
