A New Leader Emerges To Save Our Season (WSU College Football 25 Dynasty Ep. 6)

and we are back I'm Ethan AKA ooso monkey sitting here with a 2 and six record we came in with really high hopes on this season started off with three losses followed up with two great wins and in the past three weeks we have lost three games that we should have had we have been pretty bad offensively our defense has been hit or miss um and really we have just not been the team we need to be we have a really big opportunity coming up here against Utah State they are 1 and seven on the year one of the few teams on our schedule that's actually having it worse than us and this is at home and really this is to save the season if we win out we win our final four games we have an opportunity to make a bull if not there's potential I could be fired and have to start over somewhere else I'm not going down without a fight so here it is put up or shut up time let's get into it first thing we are doing is we are making a change at the quarterback position John Mater he's been all right for us certainly hasn't been all his fault but I think we just need a change and so we are bringing in the senior zei eek house and we're going to let him start these final four games for us just give us something different give us something new see if he can spark a little bit of life into this offense and uh we're going to just see what happens the rest of this year really there's nothing to lose at this point we might as well just give it our all give our senior a chance to do something and it's fine final four games and as we move past our buy we do get a win ahead of our season we have our first recruit running back Austin hover out of Westland Oregon two star receiving back not the biggest recruit that's been on our board this year but our first commit and we will take that and we're heading into this game an even matchup 80 overall 80 offense 81 defense both these teams struggling but we're at home and we're in need of a win going to be a handoff to start the game and that is jaenki schencker getting us seven yards to start looks like we might have a blitz coming in we're going to keep Billy Riv in to pass block and we have Leo palassi wide open can he out run the safety he cannot but he gets us all the way down to the 9 yd line offensive line gives us a ton of space and Leo palasi has been fantastic out of the backfield zei getting off to a hot start here they stuff us twice and now we're looking at third down and goal and we're going to go underneath the Kyle Williams try and fight forward gets down to the one and we're going for this well they give us a look we like I'm loving this run look up the middle here we go jaenki gets into the end zone a fantastic start for the offense right down the field gets the clutch fourth down conversion to get six points on the board and we are hoping that that is a sign of things to come in this game a great drive through the air jaenki finished his things off with the Oney touchdown run Stadium's pumping a little bit with a few crowd members we have the offense is ready oh quarterback keeps we are able to contain him before he gets too much as they head into the hurry up o and they go right over the Middle with a big gain there on second down this has been our struggle on defense giving up too many big plays we've got to contain them oh and they fit the ball in between the Zone we cannot stay stagnant we got to make sure that we are switching things up on them o and they continue to gash us our defense continues to struggle they have torn us apart through the pass looks like they're going run they are oh we contain it for a moment but he fights his way forward for 11 defense has been roasted and toasted got to make a play here got to get him down he breaks the tackle and gets into the end zone and Utah state is going to tie things up zei with the keeper he's got a little bit of legs to him he's moving down the field a good run for him he's not the quick guy but he makes a nice run all the way up to the 42 yd line and we go over the middle we find Shackleford he's up to the 40 and that is going to bring us to the end of the first quarter both quarterbacks yet to throw an incompletion not sure if the addition of zei has done anything to help out our defense but our offense looks pretty good so far and we're definitely happy happy with the way zei has been performing so he certainly hasn't lost his job and a lot of pressure there and we take the sack and our offense is caught on a third and a mile we're just going to Hope and not even the pass isn't even going to get completed and that's about the opposite of the last Drive big opportunity for for our defense here let's see if we can get the Stop and they are going with the read option and the sack is going to get in there big time play for the defense comes up clutch and we are getting the ball right back Troy Elder the defensive tackle bust through to make the sack we got the screen out to Hernandez able to get five before he is tackled sets up a very manageable third down oh we look for Kyle Williams and we are lucky that that was not intercepted and we are looking to put in a field goal we had success last week let's see if we can back that up and that one is going through another field goal for us as we are going to take a 10 to7 lead here in the second quarter we figured it out a little bit here with the kicking i' I've figured out the timing a little bit better second down and short and it is a speed option he gets the ball out oh he got around our Defender and gets all the way up to the 38 yd line there we go defense's chance it is play action and we get in on the sack again we're calling timeout to give ourselves more time on the offensive end and they are out of field goal range they're punting from the 37 yd line wow this is a very short punt oh my gosh we got lucky there wow and surprising I thought that we were going to be tied but they pped the ball away and and we got the ball right back opportunity for us now and we go out we find shakleford on the sideline makes an excellent catch we're going to take a shot Kyle Williams over the top cannot come down with it the defender makes a nice play we're going to go over the top to Kyle Williams and he comes down with it all the way up to the 12 yd line an excellent catch from him and we have a lot of time to play with now zei is on the run but he finds Shackleford and that's going to set up third down and three and you know what we're swapping a run here we're going to trust our o line to make the blocks Leo pulas he's going to push and he does not get in the end zone we are going to call timeout we're so close in we can probably just QB sneak it just punch the ball in to take the 10-point lead and zei leads us on yet another scoring drive here in the first half hitting the Heisman after doing a QB sneak is a bit aggressive I guess um but hey you know what we're playing well we are going manto man Blitz early here it is play fake oh I was ready for it I tried to press the swap button but I guess I was too far away for the ball those wheel routes catch me in manto man all the time and another sack this time it's Andrew Edson the defense is flying around the field and another one give him another I believe that's Andrew again backto back plays he sacks the quarterback and we are 20 yards from getting off the field big chance to get him off they are not going screen pass oh my gosh I was right [Applause] there I sunk back too far and we are going to pay for it oh my my gosh I cannot believe that wow and they're going to run it here and he's going to get in I can't believe we didn't get that I'm sitting there I'm pressing the button I just sunk back too far in coverage oh my [Applause] gosh we got the tight end he is open on the left side makes the catch all the way down to the 33 I'm trying to get okay let's go trying to get this play started oh I tried to go over the top to schan Becker I needed just a little bit more time we just got to try and get into field goal range here and we go with another screen to Hudson and he gets belted down but does get us into field goal range I believe for Janikowski looks good is it long enough it is good so another long field goal for Janowski that's going to put us up by six excellent kick just snuck in the left side and do those push-ups that's another three points another opportunity to get them off the field let's see if we can do it and they go underneath they're not getting there that is a stop for our defense the kick is deep to Hudson and another good opportunity for return see what we can do makes a man miss and gets D dropped I should say down at the 49 yd line and there we go we find our other tight end this time raver up the middle hand the ball off to Pula lassi and he runs through a man and fights his way forward for the first and we find Kyle Williams holds onto the ball all the way down to the six and it is third down o and we try to find Hudson and we are going to settle for three cuz that is going to put us up by two scores now you got to expect some passing here you know they they could always catch us off guard with a run or a draw but really in their best interest to use their time and quickly move it down the field as Tyson Durant lays the boom on the receiver and jars the ball loose what a hit and a complet it he breaks the tackle we get him down I don't like the amount of yards we're given up so quickly here changing up the call at the line oh and they go underneath it's just these underneath routes they're getting so much space going to try and catch him off guard with the blitz here as they have just moved it down the field with ease o dangerous pass could have been intercepted but they do come down with it defense just needs to hold strong here make him use a lot of time and that ball is somehow caught for a touchdown in between about three Defenders and he just fits the ball into the receiver what happened defense I did not see a window in there that ball was just barely in between everybody we had three guys there so they are probably going onside kick with two timeouts and a minute 38 left so we just got to recover that and run the ball out out oh here comes the onside kick and we are going to come down on it Shackleford goes down right now we just need a one first down that is what we need there's Pula lassi and he's going to fight forward for Just Two we're going to hit him with the outside run jaenki Cuts up field and that takes their final timeout here's the play for the game two yards to go we're going to run it unless they give us a favorable look but I like what I see here here we go pul aasi up the middle and he is going to get the first down and we are going to be able to take a knee Washington state is coming away with another Victory zei going down in the victory formation in his first start for our offense and a spectacular spectacular game We Come Away with a win we did have recruits visiting so hopefully that win uh is going to get us some more guys coming down to Pullman we shall see as we advance the week the dream is still alive all
