MASSIVE TITANS Injury News On Derrick Henry & Jeffery Simmons + JUST IN Coaching Change In Tennessee

Intro [Music] what the heck was that Titans good gosh yesterday was one of the most funkiest football games I have ever seen you're watching Titans today by Chad Sports and I'm your host Jay Andrews who is very confused about what in the world happened now the final score was 31-28 and over time but that does not tell the story at all this game was weird but let's first start with the news we have this morning and that is a coaching change in Tennessee and I know what you're thinking oh did mik gel get fired did they they do something with that offensive Corner Tim Kelly get go nope uh Mike Fel announced today that the Titans are making a change at their special teams coordinator as Tom Quinn is taking in for Craig uran he is being relieved of his duties so basically in other words he's fire that's kind of what happened which uh um not surprising uh because of what happened yesterday uh let's kind of dive into that what did Injury News happen yesterday a football game was played uh but I don't know if football was being played now a football game was I don't know about football uh there was two block putts that's the big thing that's probably what got the Special Teams coordinator fired now one of those was blocked for a touchdown the the one got put in the 5 yard line resulted in a Colts touchdown pushing it in on top of which you had Derk Henry Jeffrey Simmons and Ryan Stonehouse all hurt there was a defensive pick two in this game hooker grabbed the ball on a two-point attempt for the Colts and ran it all the way back I don't know how often you see that there was a Miss p8 in this game that would have won the Titans the game but guess what because Stonehouse was hurt ran Chell was the holder and the laces were not exactly in the right place and then there was a Levis and DeAndre Hopkins argument which we'll try and talk about here in this absolutely packed show but let's just start with Stonehouse here because Stonehouse was injured he was obviously not doing well because of the special team teams coordinator by ochman that was terrible and let's just show the picture this says a thousand words maybe even a million words um yeah that that knee is not supposed to be that way uh-uh that does not look good um as expected he's not playing again this season thanks Craig good good job special teams coordinator that was the second block punt by the way you you thought oh one's been blocked we'll fix it now now the the best punter in the NFL uh he's out for the season rides don't know so that's great thanks there I I just don't know what to tell you man that was probably honestly I'm going be quite honest with you and this may be going a little bit of a stretch but Derrick Henry is our best player on offense Ryan Stonehouse was the best player on defense on special teams it was Stonehouse and Simmons was the best on defense I me I you lost your best player on offense defense and special teams in one game what let's digress here Stonehouse will be back next year he has an absolutely amazing punter an amazing guy let's show some love to him in the comments I want you to type RS I feel terrible for the guy I mean that was a condolences to Mr Tana Hill Stonehouse Tana Hill the holder the next issue in yesterday's G uh yeah round tahel that's your new title you're not your new title is Titans backup holder or maybe I should say Titans holder because you got placed into that position yesterday because of stonehouse's injury uh all goes back to aeran who uh allowed Stonehouse to just get ran sacked in a punt formation now here's the thing tenah Hill is only the backup holder because he's now the backup QB it was Will Levis but you're not going to put your starting quarterback out there a hold that makes no sense so it's Levis how did he do he he he must have held it right now T Hill has been in the league for I don't know how how many years Tom Brady has held a kick for a freaking couple different kickers and tanah Hill I mean it's not a bad hold I'm not going to say this is like the worst hold ever but you can see it's slightly tilted forward the laces are pointing toward tanah Hill not toward the actual goat post and it was a misso by folk I'm not going to blame either side but it's just the fact of the matter that tanah Hill it's just not a great hold there and that really to be quite honest with you lost the Titans the game you hit that extra point no overtime Ryan tenah Hill can't even hold right this guy couldn't play quarterback now he can't hold listen this guy's just been absolutely infuriating all year this team has been infuriating all year because you can see the talent they possess they have Henry they have Simmons I mean hooker he played a good game he had that interception on the two-point conversion but yet guess what this team still can't find ways to win and it's because of either coaching one game an injury this game something bad happens in every single game including Derk Henry getting hurt now he was injured in yesterday's game we do have an official update on him uh it was honestly official earlier today and then became a different official which by the way I'm going to preface this is not right anymore this was not right anymore Adam shefer this morning said that Derrik Henry who left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter to be checked for a concussion is in concussion protocol leaving his status for Monday night's game at Miami in question that was the first report we got then they had the m r press conference at noon and we got this saying that he clarified he is not in compression protocol so Derk Henry he was checked on last night and then checked on him this morning not in concussion protocol the hit he took was nasty really took a hard hit to the head but Rael said no he's not in concussion protocol after we thought he was which is I mean to be honest it's good news you want these stats on the field close to a th000 yards eight touchdowns the average of 4.3 I mean honestly King Henry although having not his best season is still a force to be reckoned with and yesterday was doing great two touchdowns for the second game in a row those guy's a touchdown month so after all that he should be able to play um I can't really explain what happened I know that there's just sometimes sources fly around too quick and most of the time chefer Rapport those type of guys they're pretty clear on like checking and making sure that the reports are 100% accurate but uh guess they got it wrong this time I mean I guess sometimes you're not always right Mike Fel clarified he was not in concussion protocol now I do have a hypothetical for you because you know he did get hit and in theory I mean you don't want to be too careful but at the same time you want to make sure he's healthy can the can the Titans beat the Dolphins without Derrik Henry you they could I want you I'm kind of curious to see if uh Taj Spears come in here and do something type why for yes or type in for no the Dolphins defense isn't exactly the greatest but I don't know if I like my chances in a shootout without Derk Henry why for yes if you think they could beat the Dolphins without him in for no we also got a Jeffrey Simmons update Jeffery Simmons unfortunately obviously Derek Henry was just one of three players to get injured we've talked about Stonehouse talked about Henry let's get into to Jeffrey Simmons who um got some good news this morning followed up by some uh let's say Middle Ground news so the first one we got was from Jordan Schultz saying that it is not believed to be a serious injury which was really good news this coming about late evening yesterday and then obviously today in the afternoon period we have that press conference with Mike Rael and he gave us another update saying that he is expected to miss a couple weeks now given we're kind of back here in the back half of the schedule this definitely stinks because I mean you want your best defensive player on the field and Simmons is that he's your best defensive player at one point he was your best offensive player too caught a freaking touchdown you can't deny the stats there's a reason he got paid this off season I mean the tackles are there the sacks are there I mean he's heading toward another seven plus sack season the pass breakups aren't exactly there but at the same time uh you have Deno Atri in there who's got some long arms he's kind of playing a really good season he could be a pro bowler like how he's played so maybe that's kind of attributed to his Less on the pass breakups but overall you need this guy on the field and he's a honestly just a huge presence to be quite honest it's not like he's going to always get the stats I mean they're there but the thing is he just provides where you're going to have to put two linemen on him and that's why Deno ay has had such a good year this year because he's been one-on-one most of the time now people are starting to realize that and having to put two on him and well that just causes more problems for the opposing offensive line you need Simmons because well this defense has allowed a lot of points in the past three games now the Panthers you allow only 10 but again that offense is terrible and you still allow 10 points so not exactly the greatest I'm not going to say it's bad though because again 10 points 10 points Colts 31 points without Jonathan Taylor and Zach Moss didn't exactly have an amazing game but Pitman had a pretty good game gardam menu not a good M and then three weeks ago it's the Jaguars I don't really they want to talk about it that was 34 points and quite honest they could have had probably 40 if they wanted it but they just kind of let off their breaks there in the fourth quarter I will say this it doesn't really matter anymore anymore like I don't want to be the debut Downer I don't want be the guy to kind of say the season's over but listen you have four wins there's only so many weeks left and you're the eighth spot in the draft order it's time to it's time to take like I don't know how much else there is to say about it you can't make the playoffs you can you just need a lot of help the schedule isn't exactly a forgiving one coming up you play the Jaguars again late in the season I I think it's just time to to throw in the towel the injuries are starting to rack up I mean I know that Derrick kenry is not in concussion protocol but overall you don't want to see him out there risking himself if you're going to sign him back Jeffrey Simmons now going to miss a couple weeks uh Stonehouse your punter gone you're GNA have to sign a new punter now unless you're going to give it to Nick Folk but in that point you're having Ryan tanah Hill hold for the rest of the year too so lot of questions to be figured out this week for Mike Rael and his staff already fired a special teams head coach
