53 Man Roster Set for Tennessee Titans | A Major Trade for Ernest Jones 🏈

the 53 man roster is officially done well you guys know it can change but the initial 53 to kick off the 2024 season is in the books we'll go over all that plus a major major major need filled on the defense because of a trade and we'll get into all that as well upload live coming at you on a Tuesday next [Music] [Music] welcome to upload live let's get into this 53 man roster plus the major trade and like I said this is a huge huge need on the defense I'll explain it if you're new you probably have no idea what I'm talking about but if if you've been a reoccurring uh member you've been a part you've probably heard it once twice three times four times is the Tennessee Titans on the day of the 53 man roster went out and made a move now you can argue that maybe you know with Campbell be going on the IR officially with the ACL injury being out for the year maybe this is the Phill no don't buy that that you put put that to the side what this really means is one of two things either a they're not completely sold on Murray but I'll put that to the side or B they're not completely sold on Gibbons or in the fact that maybe he's just a little bit too slow and they want to upgrade at that position regardless of the fact ran hit on it big time I don't care that no other team seem to be as interested I don't care for the fact that yeah he's coming in and he's got a little bit of a knee concern or whatever I don't care that he was on the last year of his deal because he's only being paid this year for $3 million and the Titans got money and this guy can play so again 145 tackles all right as a linebacker for the Rams yes they got a young guy but this guy was a team captain again out of what South Carolina a 2021 draft third rounder who's really had a really nice run uh in with Los Angeles Rams again was a member of the Super Bowl team I believe so this is a major need and again when we dive into this okay bringing in Ernest Jones the reason why this is a major need is because what is the knock on some of this defensive stuff Corners they can shut you down take you out of the game safeties we bring in Adam Adams and Diggs to go along with hooker upgrade Galore okay and then you move on to the linebacker with pass outside pass rushers oh The Edge guys okay that might be a concern the defensive line you got an elite guy in Simmons and you got sweat coming in who's should be a pretty good rookie but where's the where's the major hole and we hit on it preseason we hit on it and and OTAs stopping the Run okay all these people can gloss over that and not bring it up it was a concern so much so that the Tennessee Titans not only go out and get a linebacker not only go out and get a captain from a defense not only go out and get a basically a starting linebacker they go out and get a linebacker who can do one thing really really well and thanks for the thumbs down we appreciate you over on the west coast but what I'm telling you is when you look at Jones Okay middle linebacker Joon he can stop the run he's got a 90 Pro Football Focus Gade on stopping the Run Okay Murray very weak at stopping the run so these two can go coexist and these two guys can definitely be main players on that defensive side of the ball the other thing when you talk about Jones 145 tackles and 4 and a half sacks get after the quarterback I don't know how much he can cover but again Murray would be that guy that can cover and then you got gray who hasn't really stepped a foot on this field yet as a rookie now can take a little bit of time to get back in there and again gray kind of he can cover he can do screens he can come up with Wilson so you basically all you know all things aside and we'll get into the linebacker situation cuz this is kind of nut so don't definitely vote in the poll and let us know what you vote we'll get to your um you know what what you guys got but again this is something before we even get into the 53 this this is a big deal everybody I mean this is legit okay there's really no red flags with this guy you know he's not coming in for one of the four reasons you know like he's injured okay well I guess he had a little flare up with the knee but that that's fine playing 15 games last year this isn't another guy that you know comes in and he's been holding out you don't want to play that that's not what we've heard now there's mixed rumor about you know the the he he seek to trade he said no I think there are bunch of the Rams Sean MCV come out said no so take with that what it is again if he wants to seek a trade I mean he he's hungry man he had a electrifying season and in a year where these guys make just tons of ridiculous money this guy's making $3 million next year or this coming year $3 million so you're going to have to pay him but this is a pretty solid and this is more than just filling a need this is like a guy that can bring in really solid stuff okay I'm going to get switch cameras here and then fix my other camera uh as this one is obviously uh not very good now we're on a different one oh my goodness gracious oh my gosh all right so we'll get that one up and running and I'll have to fix this one out because it's a totally different thing but but again I'm not being uh taking off courses this is just a ridiculous thing right now yes don't forget to tighten up that like button hit that much need yes definitely a much needed trade this means we are trying to win a Super Bowl at least on defense it seems like but we'll get to some of the issues with defense as we break down the uh the the 53 what's going on Mr Carter it says I'm glad they got rid of practice players like King Kyle Phillips we'll get into that for sure uh true Rush defense is sketchy Titan says upload would you more in favor of Mason making the practice squad over Kyle Kyle's hurt right now so we got that injury destination and with the release or the cut so we'll have to keep an eye on that I would suspect when he's back I mean Buffalo would make a lot of sense for him uh I think keny makes a lot of sense because he can play multiples he can play Gunner now he's been doing that that's why I thought when they only kept four uh Corners I thought well gosh Kinsey might be a pretty much lock but then you find out what they did to tight end and you're like oh okay whatever but uh they you know Mason can pretty much do anything on the football field honestly he can be quarterback if he needs to be receiver at any of those positions not only just slot and then defensive side of the ball there's been times where he's lined up as safety uh in the defense to to help him through and then obviously kick or punt returner and he can do the whole like special teams thing so I think him being around so long uh he's he's a he's a Savvy vet believe it or not I know some people downplayed him and were making fun of him one person said he basically wasn't an NFL player and I I feel that is very disrespectful by the way uh for a guy that gets cut uh when someone passes away uh you don't ridicule them because they passed away and talk about all their faults you know um it's there's a there's a lot of you know these guys gave it their all and everybody in the media I think uh would also agree with with Mason there Rams Fans were mad that's a big indicator that gets overlooked so much uh now the other side of it Murray they're not really high on Murray but but for the charger fans but Murray's had a pretty decent Camp top tier thanks for being a member uh let's get it ridiculous says uh are you guys he made the full I mean I'm not shocked I did have him on the team but I am shocked that you know out of all these things going on he's one of the guys that actually slipped and and made it through so tight ends and trade Malik Willis those are your five options or four options and right now five tight ends you guys are completely shocked on and I am too I'm actually shocked on all four of them I thought Malik Willis would have been our third quarterback and but all it counts you know I did tell you like hey guys like there's going to be one team interest in him so you guys think hey he's going to get cut no one's going to claim him on the practice squad I just thought that was crazy um and sure enough the Packers actually not only would have claimed him but they also threw a seventh round pick which I know isn't much but at the end of the day it's something all right so there's the two quarterbacks we're rolling with Levis Rudolph we'll see we'll keep an eye I think there's a lot there's like eight guys I think you guys can count them at home I think there's eight guys on this team that you can consider practice squad players seven eight maybe nine we'll talk about those guys and these guys will probably be the first ones on the chopping block and they'll be out of here um but for the most part Levis going to be your starter we know this Rudolph solid backups had a really good camp so I'm very very thrilled with both these guys I I feel like if we're going into a game I think Rudolph can win a game and Levis if he keeps doing what he can do a lot of upside there with Levis I know he was on the boss here recently good for him but I do think a quarterback the hope is Levis can be healthy have a productive season show signs of growth and the investment is there for him to be back next year and eventually going to get paid and if he has a Good Year guys you know he's going to get paid that's just the trend running back happy to predict I actually got something freaking right for once I told you H Haskins was out a lot of media members said H Haskins was in because the Special Teams is Rookie year and I say I could give a crap last year wasn't his rookie year okay H Haskins look very very sluggish in the Run Department I think he got worse as the season went on preseason preseason one he showed some speed he didn't have Vision he couldn't get a yard and I think it's been a trickle effect and honestly the last game Chestnut ran well and I'd even argue small other than the fumble and the drop pass small outperformed him and I know unfortunately small didn't make it maybe they'll bring him back to the practice squad but again Pard probably going to be your starter get a lot of the carries I would say uh you know and Spears is is going to be mixed in significantly so I wouldn't even go 50 I i' probably say 6040 PD at this point right I think you saw a little bit in that preseason game how he started the the third game he was a focal point to that he got to show you a little bit what he could do in the receiving and the run and again he failed in Dallas last year not because of him him skills but because the Cowboys didn't know how to build a team around him and that's on the Cowboys when he had Elliott and Elliott was rolling and he was basically that change of speed back I mean he put up some massive numbers for the Cowboys and he was very significant why they were good so that would be the obviously the running backs then we move in the tight end Titans is just crazy like there's there's people that are going on there in the media now that are making these wild accusations of okay well you know maybe we're reading between the lines a cono is going to be treated well okay I mean that if you know some information that's fine but if you don't know anything you're just throwing darts at the wall okay based on how he was using pre season well I'll be honest with you I'm not maybe it happens but I'm putting that one to the side I'm actually thinking more wy's hurt more than we think he is so that's that's what I'm thinking um does Wy go on IR let's hope not because then he's out at least four games and he's supposed to be a very focal point of this offense I mean you're keeping five tight ends shout out to Martin Robinson though the dude deserves it uh vanet he's just the standard you know average tight end he's fine he's needed um and then the Oda odoya guy really did he earn a spot for what he did on the Special Teams against New Orleans to save the touchdown and ultimately Save The Undefeated preseason game I mean did you keep him around just for that I mean I would hope not because I feel like if you were going to do that then probably should throw a bone to Mason Kenzie because you know he's he's put his heart and soul on this team and even with a uh with his finger uh what even come out of the game in preseason game number two but I would suspect that uh odoko is probably the one that will be on the chopping block first but keep an eye on Wy let's go a little bit more before we get to your comments wide receiver we we hit on this one we were perfect um we said if seven it would be keny and I'm going to go ahead and say it if it was seven it was going to be Kinsey okay take it for what it's worth but I I firmly believe this again I'll say 95% sure it would have been Kenzie hereis Jackson's cut I don't expect him to be back and obviously Kyle Phillips with the injury and then he's cut as well and I don't suspect he's back either and I think the guy who's going to end up being back to the practice squad is the guy who they probably would have kept seventh and I think most of you in the chat even if you're not Kinsey fans or whatever I think you would at least say yeah you've heard so much about Kinsey in the preseason other than other preseason and you would probably thought well maybe he had an outside shot to make the team and we were hoping too uh we were hoping he would make it as well but these are the six they rolling with a lot on Jan Jackson a lot on jquan Jackson I'm going to make this point here in a minute uh but you guys better be praying he stays healthy because uh I'll show you your alternative if if anything happens to him offensive line and then we'll break it up uh again I am I am shocked I am I am petrified I am afraid I am I am biting my nails I don't even have any nails I've been biting them on my way home just thinking about this the jail and Duncan thing is just ridiculous okay it's the second year I gave him a pass in his first year he has been awful and they've brought him back and all I hear about is he's versatile he's versatile he's versatile guys he might be versatile but I'll be honest he sucks and I don't like to say that about a lot of guys I don't but he's terrible and I haven't seen any sign of growth and and I was very high on Bill Kalan Bill Kalan you know made they made a trade right for the Watson guy when he was a seventh round pitch you don't just trade away seventh round picks if you're not giving those guys a solid you know look just like you look at our draft class it's the same way we kept our sixth and seventh round picks this year for a reason so when you look and breakdown you know auku he was the guy they were rolling with in OTAs so we got into that a little bit and I said hey if you were going to keep one or the other I would go with a juk A Juku or whatever uh but as far as Duncan goes there is one name you should all be praying if you pray you should be praying praying for if you don't pray the thoughts you know fingers crossed and that is Chris hubard who was released from the 49ers he would fit in perfectly he would back up npf he would be a guy who could give you a few games if you need him solid veteran I would still keep A Juku or whatever juko and Duncan's gone they got to find a way to get Duncan out of here um again Callahan I love him I trust him I love both callahans I love ran but the whole Duncan thing that thing needs to end that thing needs to be over with I honestly cannot go into a game with Will Levis his life on the line and have Duncan being the thing because it fits a need that I was really scared of and that's stopping the run this guy's not afraid to Blitz this guy's a perfect Wilson guy and he's not afraid to take on those blocks and hunt down um those running backs and do he does a really really good job filling holes so I'm super pumped again 78 overall grade for Pro Football Focus is fine but that 90 grade it's got me really excited and he's backed it up with stats too 145 tackles 4 and a half sacks so very solid for the Tennessee Titans so thankfully the Rams had a better linebacker they thought to let this guy go and apparently the league wasn't too concerned again I don't really see a lot of red flags so uh thanks so much and again as far as the Caris Jackson thing I kind of put this out there on the watch party before it start or my 53 and then the watch party it's nothing against Carris Jackson I thought he made a lot of sense at kickoff return but I really do believe you're all going to be assuming it's jaquin Jackson back there but I believe the trend I've been on this and I'm not getting off of it right it started with Chicago in the Hall of Fame game and it's still with me right now I think the trend is going to be again very interesting but the new kickoff rule is viewed going to be more as a run play so I would View and again he's returned kicks before I mean he's not great but I would view Julius Chestnut as more of the guy being back there than jaquin Jaquan will be back there for punts so with that being said kis Jackson just didn't make any sense can't really do anything to help you offensively and that was proven in Camp this year that's the hard facts right he had 10 catches in all of Camp jaquin Jackson and Mason Kinsey combined for 44 catches alone uh and again it wasn't like CIS Jackson didn't get looks punt return he would be a solid backup but how many teams keep just one backup returner it it's just really unheard of and again I again I I I probably won't be claimed but I wish him wish him nothing but uh respect and and I wish him the best because I did I was starting to warm up last year to kis Jackson on the punt returns before unfortunately got hurt uh Chris hubber is a salad let's see if he wants to be in Tennessee well if they claim him I guess he doesn't really have a choice right so we'll see what happens uh Leon effort is a requirements Jones brings a truckload of tackles for sure Brian these bubble guys are cutter like jro and Vel guys this is Rand team now keeping them guys makes no sense anymore let Rand build his Squad well if you want Rand to build a squad about around jayen Duncan I'm I'm sure you're not going with that Brian but remember last year ran started with Andre Dillard and and ran knew that wasn't going to work out now that's Green Bay's problem interesting if you know he made the team let me know but we saw this with Dennis Daly we've seen this in the past with some of these guys again it's no no disrespect it's just honestly you know if you wantan to if you want to put it this way just put it this way okay those of you have kids you put your kid back there with and having Duncan protecting you know these guys you got like Freddy cougar and Jason after your kid is Jaylen Duncan your guy no 99% of you gonna say heck no I want as far as away as anything right JC lean I want that guy well sure we do but again it's a backup situation but at the same time look at what happened to Malik I mean you guys can say what you want about Malik um you know there were sometimes man that guy didn't have a chance because these these guys couldn't hold up I don't understand why people are saying the Titans are only win I I I don't know the defense is solid the defense is for sure solid uh Michael Piper in the house Rand will find some players before week 11 heck he's gonna find some players early early early we got Broski bear bears final 53 looks so oh come on see how Caleb Williams against this Team Jacob thanks for being a member I appreciate but you buddy I really do we are we are stacked we're not deep though we're stacked but we're not deep and and these depth charts and all that these 53 will prove that and again we still got around eight or nine guys I think can go realistically if you want that Super Bowl Elite roster and have that chance of uh you know hey I'm we're going to win the Super Bowl this year there's still about eight or nine guys that I think we can't really count on but again ran has really from last year to this year has 360 this roster and that's a positive so uh Mitchell you I think Mitchell was the one that pointed out hey like I'm excited about this roster for the most part I am too some guys I'm not excited about but I'm not going to let that ruin my excitement because again these guys leam scony uh cushenberry Raiden and npf even I think these guys can be solid now remember the last game we played the preseason against the Saints Brian baldinger went on it and he does great work by the way for uh NFL Network and stuff like that breaking down film but there were a lot of these media guys uh what's the other guy um oh I can't think of it uh former quarterback from the Lions I can't think of his name right now he got a lot of hate because he deleted his uh tweet about the the girls or something girls and sports and or guys playing girl sport I I can't remember but he he deleted the tweet and everyone got mad at him from ESPN um but he was a former quarterback from the Lions he even tweeted something out positivity for the offensive line and doing all this stuff but they didn't realize which is shocking right National media not realize that the saints were playing their backups they're playing their second team so although we did look great on offense and we did look good at the you know when you're talking about protecting the will Levis and opening some Lanes in the Run Department with the offensive line you still have to put that in account I mean that's expected right if you can't push around backups then who are you going to push around but again offensive line how how about a shout out for rub I mean that guy one of these Warrior guys that fought his butt off to make this football team yeah he grew up from about an hour and a half north of me and uh I used to coach with the prince or coach with a guy that I used to work with who's now principal the school that he went to uh so shout out to him but again rubek making this team I'm I'm excited about it brunskill he could technically fill in as a starter uh for Raiden I know he's the backup center but he could play guard and he played guard last year pretty good um but Duncan I'm not and um that that needs to go at some point like I said uh special teams we we were right about that so shout out to us I guess right folk makes it we kind of knew that Stonehouse is back which is great and then Morgan Cox is your Long Snapper and again I wanted to let you know too if you have young people in your life you have uh brothers and sisters Sons um daughters whatever anybody trying to play football if they want a longlasting career don't overlook Long Snapper long Snappers have one of the most amazing lives in the NFL they're very dependable they're needed uh they definitely can screw up but for the most part they're around for years and they make a buttload of money and and they just they get to experience the NFL lifestyle and they're long Snappers it it's just a special thing about those guys and what they do so shout out again to Morgan Cox for all he does for the Titans defensive line are you shocked about this my guy uh who didn't have a great performance the bohana guy he's he's out but they went with Simmons sweat Joseph day and Coburn so that so that Anderson guys out that icon or iton guys out and they only went with four defensive linemen so are you shocked about that moving on to Edge with Edge those were my top four guys some people were out on Weaver I mean technically I'm out on Weaver but I kept them around to give them one more go round he's done absolutely nothing this preseason but Shane Ray's gone um trying to think of some of these other guys that are off the roster but Caleb Murphy makes it so Caleb Murphy is going to be my first practice squad guy who technically made it he'll do a couple things here there but dependable temp Dependable in the season that's definitely a question mark Harold amazing okay I think a lot of people overlooked how dominant he was in the Saints game he really did play well I think he was held on every play go back and watch that you'll see what I saw uh key having him back uh and not being suspended is huge Landry being more healthy now going into this year and then Weaver's kind of a whatever I'd say Weaver and Murphy are not very salid on this Edge group at all so you guys saying we need help at Edge I would completely agree with you lime backers I don't know we'll get to your poll question are you shocked on the linebackers I'll raise my hand I am I'm completely shocked oh I'm completely shocked on the linebackers now right the guy smack in the middle man there's your stud there's your stud of this crew and yes it's the guy we just traded from from the Rams Ernest freaking Jones man Ernest Jones coming in I think Ernest Jones the fourth I don't care if he's the fourth the third the second the first the guy can flat out play I think you're going to love him I'm G to love him uh if we sign him I could even see myself buying a jersey um who knows I mean can he have 53 who knows but gray hurt don't know about him Williams wasn't very impressed with him um against the Saints that was my bubble pick that was the one I did put on the roster for Otis Reese but I told you I wanted to put Otis Reese on there and if you don't believe me go back and watch that 53 man prediction that came out with last week but I'm telling you uh Williams I felt like just brings a unique skill former safety he's got ball skills um he's got a little bit bigger um he's quick he can do some things he's young that's the key he's young he's got big play capabilities but he's he's young and raw so they're willing to invest in him and I'm okay with that and that's why I put him on there but I had no idea they were keeping seven I had no idea so I would suspect great either th a goes to IR or he's just not going to be counted on very much and then they're not really high on Gibbons I think that's what it looks like it's either Gibbons or Murray and I doubt it because Murray for the most part I was really afraid of him what I've heard from charger fans um but he's really taken off and he's been team captain and all that kind of stuff so I think Murray and Jones could work Murray can get after the quarterback he's got speed he's got quickness he's terrible at defending he's not a great run stopper but that's where Jones comes in and he's much better at stopping the run so I'm excited gford is a special teams guy through and through that's why he's there so that's the linebacker core Corners you thought I was shocked at linebackers I'm more shocked at Corners how the heck are you going in to a season where Sneed has knee injuries uh you at least knee issues where it makes him not practice fully each week then you got AER who's been out pretty much all of camp and we're hoping to get him back for the Bears so you got Mccreary and brownley Jr and brownley Jr has played pretty well but like four guys so my guess and and thankfully they did this because I told you Trey Avery wasn't making this team and I said he shouldn't make this team and I think you guys mostly agreed with me but there were a lot of medium were like yep we're going to put Trey Avery on there and maybe they felt like there just wasn't anybody else but this is definitely concern everybody like I would imagine that they have somebody out there that they feel that they're going to be able to bring in um but yeah like four corners into a NFL season with some injury concerns already that shocks me even though they're great don't get me wrong they're great the few the proud the Marines right the few the proud but the few the proud the corners but one goes down we're going to be hurting and all four are going to play so that's that's also an issue right and then safeties okay safeties we were wrong about Matthew Jackson he's a special teamer played really well that's why ultimately I think push come to shove it doesn't matter as The Rock would say it doesn't matter what you think it doesn't matter with preseason preseason means nothing preseason means nothing number one exhibit a jaquin Jackson 26 yd punt return from that point on against the 49ers okay from that point on it was his show okay I didn't agree with it didn't matter what I you guys might might have a little bit there but give jquan credit he earned a spot that's what I wanted him to do I just didn't want him to give it the spot just because he's drafted six from tane but let's make no joke about it there's a reason why and Kinsey who was number one on the depth chart for punt return didn't get one crack at punt return during the season on preseason okay because they wanted to see what chaquan could do and if chaquan could check the box he was in so I'm going to argue that preseason in that case for just one lonely punt return really didn't matter you probably would have had to made the team based off those two little slant passes he made right but with M Matthew Jackson like he picked off Levis rud off I think he lead the team he led the team in preseason in interceptions he was around the ball a lot and and a lot of media would agree he was pretty good so I thought for sure he was going to make this football team and a special teamer they're going with brown man they're going with brown so I'm shocked on that one but they obviously hopefully we can get Jackson back on the practice squad but I that might be a little bit harder to do and then and eventually like I said the goodbyes okay I'm not gloating I'm not like pounding on the table but these are the guys I said we going to be gone and I might not win a bet for 110 bucks and I might have missed on some other things but Kyle Phillips see you later man thanks for your service Caleb Farley we're gonna miss him um like I said he didn't really do a whole lot for the Titans but his stories did a lot they were obviously um you know all the tragedy that he went through I think fans from that point on embraced him uh felt bad for him and appreciated everything did to give it a go H Haskins like I said he can't get a yard he doesn't deserve to be on this football team with inside linebackers I think that's crazy to think we have seven inside linebackers because theoretically that's two spots for seven guys and tight end would probably be my um third one because I think two would be Corners cu the corners is a concern but what happens is for the corners no offense to some of these guys because they're in tip top shape they probably got abs of steel and all that but they basically trimmed the fat that's what they did they trimmed the fat they felt like those guys weren't going to help the team and even our guy like the Judy L guy who we thought had an outside chance um as a udfa Titans ended up saying no thanks and again against the Saints I think he got beat a few times like it wasn't like he was setting the world off on fire here over the last couple weeks he had a great OTA and he did okay at training camp for sure but not enough to make the roster I just assume they're going to probably find more people and that's probably what they're going to do uh and then Malik gets traded I wanted to spend a little bit of time on this because it is I think it's important so Malik now that they release another quarterback in Green Bay he'll actually be here week three with the Packers and it'll be a backup so if anything ever happens to Jordan love they're going to be rolling out Malik Willis now I don't know about you but I don't think Leaf Flur was here when Malik Willis was here correct like I so I don't there was some people that put that out there in the media like I don't think so now lefur might have been in the process of drafting him like you know what I mean because was that the year lefur went to Green Bay I can't remember but I don't think so I think lefur was uh vel's first year and then he was gone and remember we got two years of Todd Downing so yeah vable wouldn't even been around or not vable but uh Flur wouldn't even been around for that so I don't know where they got that one but again happy to Malik I think he then in that last preseason game the guy delivered when he needed to you know he he needed to make a couple throws was that what did it to get him a pick I don't know we'll only we'll never know what that was like but he ends up going on and now we got a quarterback spot open that that's a possibility Callahan brings in some guy and maybe stash on the roster and tries to you know work him up and mold them the way he wants to mold them or they maybe they do something next year in the draft late they get a guy that fits their system or their needs so keep an eye on that we will stay for a but again I just like with sne let's just hope and pray rand's got a gauge on that and um again in sense this is a 2026 fifth round pick and the Rams are giving us a 2026 sixth round pick plus uh
