line the Bears will start out Chicago [Applause] Bears Tyson bent in at quarterback he had a really good rookie season last year was fun to watch the toss play cut it back get across the 31 yd line Travis Homer season so far as well second and five agent from the shotgun looks left now moves to his right tries to dump it down looking for Homer but offt Target it'll bring up third down def thanks B pent there is changing the play pent looks left stays left the flag is down it is caught by DeAndre Carter he has enough for a first down but let's check second second year trying to make this roster you know trying to trying to get onto the active roster pent moving to his left the throw down it's got a wide open receiver Simba Webster and Webster out of bounds inside the Chiefs 25 yd line Conor forced him out of bound see a late rotation there up to the field and they they they bit on that run fake with the bootleg out to the outside Connor that time playing safety just trying to get over the top to give some help they've got to figure out what they're going to do McDuffy last year was an all pro at nickel so they've got to find who that guy's going to be if McDuffy is going to be on the outside who the nickel's going to be and versatility is key for a noo defense especially in the secondary Bears key pent in the shotgun Tyler Scott in motion they bring pressure be is in trouble he'll go down multiple Flags in the secondary officials are going to have a quick conversation and there is Caleb Williams enjoyed getting to know him a little bit watching hard knocks this preseason lots of attention will be on Mr Williams they have made comparisons to Patrick Mahomes unlike Mahomes Mahomes got to sit for a year behind Alex Smith Caleb Williams will be out there week one oh right now it looks like there's going to be three rookie quarterbacks starting week one Homer the ball carrier gets to the five yard just understanding they've got to get to the point where they slow the game down and I think that's where Patrick gained the advantage agent's going to take off dive for it does he get the touchdown yes pent gives up the body there is a flag down in the end [Applause] zone I'm a big fan of giving Young quarterback some time to learn the game but the situation that Washington Denver and Chicago are in they don't have time to wait 24 declined it's on the play is a touchdown fivey touchdown run for Tyson aent secondy year man who played as a small school Shephard got a chance to start last year a few games got the attention of a lot of people around the National Football League and here he makes a great play for his team reaching out gets to the pylon well done I just like the way he carries himself he's he's got that Moxy right you you see that kind of that it Factor the way the guys around him respond to him and even though he's small school he's uh he's had an impact already Santos delivers the extra point Point that's his style that's for sure first and 10 Oken in the shotgun Jared Wy the fourth round pick in motion they keep it on the ground with d Eric Prince and Prince picks up maybe a yard and a half and now for the players Matt naggie got some tough decisions in front of him tonight'll help answer some of those questions then Eric Prince on the toss flags are down he stopped at the 39 yd line four penalties to have been accepted against the Chiefs second and 18 Oken looking left goes middle of the field that's caught caderas Tony has the first down brought down at the 48 yd line watch how okan steps into this he knows he's going to get hit the guys are coming free right at him he steps into it doesn't Flinch great job in the pocket keeping your eyes up field and not not looking at the rush steps into the a and so you know daic Prince is a part of that conversation it looks like Carson Steel's going to make it just because how big of a contributor on special teams and what he's been able to do completion again and finds Tony for the catch his second catch on Irv Smith Jr in motion third and short it's Prince and it's going to be close I think he's a little bit short fourth and less than a yard Prince no place to go stuffed by the Bears and the Bears will take over at their own 47 yard and Chris Jones was a major part of that no place there for Travis Homer to go maybe he picked up a yard on the play and when you're deciding good to bomb tradic an American Stockyard at local stores and spicing foods.com third and nine for the Bears be the throw and that is caught but short of the first down by Simba Webster Homer is the running back aent looking for Homer and oh he does make the kick CCH and the Chiefs will take over on Downs they had the play but Homer at or near the line of scrimmage and with the misdirection to the outside looked like an easy first down bent just putting it on the back shoulder Homer not able to come up with the catch and bent knows he missed one there first and 10 for the Chiefs Chris Oken Remains the quarter back little play action looking to his right on time catches made by Justin Ross as he scurries up the sideline you know we don't know the full health of Hollywood Brown in terms of his shoulders going to be ready week one but Ross has has had an excellent training camp in preseason ologen gets it out to IRB Smith Jr gain of a few yards there going be some real tough decisions moving for forward Carson steel well and at the end of that was Justin Watson he's he's a guy that if you want to hear from Brett V you'll have that chance he's going to join us at the start of the second quarter for his annual visit to the booth olad dookan is going to step up going to throw down the field he was looking for micle Hardman and he overthrows it as James Winchester is hurt Brandon platner kick is on the way and it is no good Brett rip is in the game at quarterback for the Bears sixthe man out of Boise State gives it to Ian wheeler and Wheeler breaks one tackle and then he's gang tackled at the Chiefs 49 yd line and now for the answer of chiefs his second and 13 for the Bears ripping in the shotgun ripping up the right side of the field and that is broken up nicely they were looking for simbo Webster does a great job in coverage by Kelvin Joseph Joseph had a you know there's a bunch of different things that all of a sudden now either creates an opportunity for someone else or or maybe it's something he can recover from quickly and and get back third and long rip it the throw catches made by Webster and he has it Bears first down tackled at the 37 yd line by Kelvin well he just catches him in Zone coverage and you see Joseph and and Roland Wallace with the eyes of the quarterback looking opposite then coming back to the front side it creates that space and stood out on special teams one of the unsung heroes like the back-to-back Super Bowl champions from a year ago riping gets rid of it quickly Tyler Scott makes the catch [Applause] pressure coming Bears pick it up they complete it Tyler Scott and Scott brought down at the th well defensive M Malik Herring tries to get out into cover just doesn't get there fast enough you bring the double linebacker Blitz you got to have coverage from somewhere that time Herring trying to drop into the flat just can't get there quick enough that's a that's a tall order for him to be a 97 yard so far agent had the rushy touchdown the only score in the game it's wheeler wheeler gets inside the 10 brought down at the8 yd line gain of you know the person obviously we're going to watch the tape and we're all going to see the same tape but or with the Collegiate coaching staff yeah no question I mean in you know with our schedule and and hopefully every year we're trying to play a 20 Game season you're going to need those guys and we don't really look at these players as as practice Squad players we just look at them as an extension of our roster and a bunch of guys over the years have started out on the on the practice squad whether it be a Nazi Johnson or see great people go so uh every year is the same and we always have tough decisions but again it's just part of the process 32 yd field goal from Santos up on the next senior junior class and and you know at a certain point throughout the fall we'll get the speed yeah so really since the first day training camp our guys have been graded by the by the coaching staff and you know we kind of log that monitor that and you know they certainly the games Carri a little bit more weight I think we're we're in a pretty good spot this year because you know we kind of like having roster positions and throw our thoughts out there and then kind of work together as a group to to figure out the best 53 and then it's translated to these preseason games as he's been making a lot of plays he has last week he had seven tackles second most on the team last week against the Lions riing he's going to tuck it and own 45 gets to the outside and brought down at the 40 a flag comes in late see what the flag is all about you may get tackled inside the one be first and goal from that spot come on CLE come on I feel like I want to Boo as well but be very unprofessional yeah so then he decide steel to the right of old or welld deserved touchdown Harrison bucker on for the extra points and the extra point is good the Bears lead is now 10-7 in all 50 yards were all Carson steel they were Tyler Scott on the return tackled from behind at the 30 off in the end zone well defended by the [Applause] chairs Chief showing pressure ripping in the shotgun here comes the pressure riing and it's incomplete looking for John Jackson Jaylen Watson in coverage for the Chiefs Chiefs bringing Corless waitman to punt for the Bears niik ramio hoping for a chance of return that's a really high hunt and R Hill fair catch just outside his own 10 yd line there is a flag down after a 42 Deon Hester getting into the Hall of Fame and Dave was able to be there and see him inducted and he want a tasker right uh Slater obviously now a Hall of Fame player third and short biley now to the right of olok ammani Bailey the rookie out of TCU now he moves to the other side of the quarterback third and short gain his pretty good time first and 10 it's Bailey with some room and Bailey breaks the tackle and Bailey good run there for ammani Bailey gain Bears is coming in and make that [Music] hit and the extra point is up and good they're going to get him out there and see what he can do here in the third quarter yeah give him some more opportunity and Cornell Powell the catch hits across the 45 yd line gain of eight Powell last week had a spectacular 64 yd touchdown looks like a Bears player down on the sideline here but you're right about Oken in the look that he gave a year ago as a scout team quarterback and kind of scary the way that the sideline responded to the down Bears player not sure who it is see him I know immediately everybody on the field all right we'll check on the injured player and certainly uh quarterback he started the game he's played every snap for the Chiefs Bailey but it's a nice hole there didn't turn into a lot gets just into Bears territory gain of three okan and that is broken up to let him go under Center at coming olok is going to step up take off tried to make a guy Miss and he is tackled at the Chicago for an opportunity to pin him down inside the 10 Arise at a punt he was able to pin them earlier that Ball's inside the 10 Jared of this franchise there's every reason to believe they may catch the Patriots for most consecutive division titles won Jones the ball carrier there new quarterback in the game for the Bears is Austin Reed rookie out of Western Kentucky had a chance to call a couple of his games in college second and seven Reed under Center little play action [Applause] and that is incomplete the ball popped up in the air I think that's an interception you're looking at areas to improve Austin Reed completes it to Tyler Scott gets to the chief 33 yd line gain of 20 looking for areas to they're going to be looking for payback for that AFC Championship Game Tyler Scott with it gets a couple of good blocks and Scott forced that Bounds at the 15 tight ends out on the perimeter this time getting the reverse allowing the blocks to set up and get around to the outside down inside the 15 yd line here must have he must have snapped and fired off first and 15 Reed steps up in the pocket and he dubs it down in the flat Brendan Bates makes the catch and he's brought down around the 11 yd line gain of 12 on the play we check that around the 6yd line my apologies got a sack there in first preseason game third and short Reed the throws in the end zone caught touchdown Bears Tommy Sweeny gets the touchdown for Chicago six yards on the touchdown catch for Sweeny point lead it's good to catch up with Cairo before the game he was a kicker here for a couple of seasons and has found the a nice career in Chicago extra point is on the way and it is Chris Oken is done for the night he finished nine of 16 for 66 yards Lewis ream at the ball carrier he's a pretty good siiz guy re at 62 209 lounds 23 years of age all the end of December and end of January uh and next thing you know he's training and as you said earlier in the game he grew up watching the game with his dad and felt this was the time to give it a go and moved to Florida and IMG for a few and he's out there at receiver for the moment I got a feeling he might come back to the Back Field and he will hey third and eight book going to step up and he'll be brought down so a three and out for the chief Greg strowman Jr 27 hoping for a chance at a return for the Bears a huge punt from Riz wow well that's the hang time that they need from him you can have the big punts but you got to have the hang time and that time he did allowing coverage to get down there 57 yd punt only four yards on the return there [Applause] is bis Jones Jr the ball carry he's got a lot of work tonight for the Bears getting rid of his blocker and making that tackle right near the line of scrimmage excellent job by him Reed dumps it down it's Jones with it and he's going to be a little bit shy of the first down gain of seven on the play tackles g a chance for a lot of players to play a starter [Applause] role it's Jones no it's Reed keeps it and he spins Falls forward I think he's just shy we got a pretty good look at it from our vantage point right here I think it's going to bring up this is the running back and Austin Reed they're trying to push the pile well you have to remember there's no line judge on The Far Side of the field by the Bears because they've had to rotate right they're implementing like an official got hurt and so now they have field it's going to be hard to see first and 10 Reed the throw on play action he completes it Tyler Scott gets in to Chief's territory 15 yards on the play play action Reed and he gets it to Tommy Sweeney who had the last touchdown for Chicago he stopped at the 39 yd line let's check in with Matt hey guys we wish him all Tennessee well you see just a sweep to the outside you got a couple linemen out in front he's able to make a good cut nobody even touches him the entire play and over Pursuit on the front side and then with the cut back Santos on for for the extra point and the kick is on the way and it is good the Bears extend their lead to 35 to 7 20 not an easy start to the schedule and and we touched on this earlier in the preseason the fact that they're just not going to get into a normal routine they're such a high-profile team it's not like they're going to play Sunday afternoon at the exact same time they're going to play on a lot of different days of the week and it they won't have the luxury of getting into the same routine every week uh they're on every day of the week except Tuesday amazing this season which is crazy Lewis ream it on the return and that's a nice return across the 35 yd line first and 10 Ian book the quarterback in the shotgun ream it to his left play action book with time now he's going to dump it to resam it and the throw was short still 18 rooms room to improve all over the place um and that's what we're doing we talk about chasing greatness um each and every day in our room and we think there's still a lot of room to get better this year a lot of young players on this defense that just continue to ascend it seems like what can you say about the young players on this defense that have made a formula for Success um and we know that you can't take any shortcuts you got to do each step um one of those steps is training camp in the preseason and battling through that getting yourself ready for a long season but um it's going to be challenge it's hard to win oh it was very big you know when when you're trying to figure out you know who your guys in the middle are going to be and and he came in and was a was a force and that's why they signed to a multi-year extension you know both uh both he that and his interview with Matt so I know they're fired up and right for the season to get here and book was just able to get that hand off and a broken tackle there Deon Ingram good job running the football what what's scary for the rest of the league Tren is uh you know when you consider of the offense was right in the middle of the pack uh under 22 yards per game right at 15th in uh in points per game and and that's something that that Patrick mentioned he wasn't happy with as Ian book gets an opportunity to get out in some space and pick up another first [Applause] [Music] down gain of nine on the play for book well we were talking about Dre TR it's Ingram and Ingram gets it inside the 10 where it'll be first and goal Ingram started his career at Texas finished it at USC he's got the football and Ingram gets it down close to the seven yd line gain a two on the play and you know obviously you've had an entire college career some of these guys have been on practice squads for a couple years and just getting an opportunity here to get yourself on tape maybe someone else around the PA gets it gets into the end zone for a touchdown nice quick throw by book with an accurate Z well and we were talking about how important this is and you know whether or not he's on this roster with what he's done the last couple of weeks it's standing out on tape so a team that is wide receiver needy you know may you have an opportunity there Harrison buters a great drive for Ian book and book finds Powell who gets the touchdown [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's Jones and he'll be stopped after a gain of a few yards one of the most exciting players in the NFL is Isaiah P this offseason is you've been healthy last off season in training camp you were in that bumblebe Jersey the quarterback jersey nobody could hit you you've been healthy all training camp how important was that for you oh it's a has been a great start this off season it's been a good start like I said um offseason been able season for Isaiah Pacho oh it's very important you know t to the score uh tucking the ball high and tight is important here we throw the ball a lot and being able to I come in here unsatisfied that's just his mentality it's never enough and everybody sees the way he runs in games but that's the way he runs in practice also and so that energy and that that finish of plays even when he goes down he hops back up and takes it I mean that uh that carries over oh ball on the ground let go keeps with the football come on Hayden get it down to about the seven yd Line Rio Ball Carrier there he has [Applause] it book goes to the ends Stone it's caught is he inbounds no Curtis Jacobs no check that that's Kyle sheets one definitely in oh the knee comes down out of bounds so unless his elbow hits before his knee does but that's the rookie got to try something receivers to the right one of that one-on-one match up Austin Reed and at quarterback finds the tight end Tommy Sweeney he's been a popular Target tonight Sweeney with a touchdown in the game second down coming up for the Bears as we close in on the six-minute mark of the fourth quarter the third and final preseason game for both teams Tyler Scott in motion they're going to keep it on the ground this time with Jones four yards on the car opportunity to make an impression whether it's one of these two teams or the other 30 teams in the NFL get yourself on tape making something happen at the end of a preseason game the throw and that's incomplete it was on target but Tyler Scott can't make the catch the Bears here to get his hands on the ball make a return here and then Cub just getting into the end zone momes and Chris Jones celebrating the score how about Ian book tonight six of nine 71 yds and two touchdowns and the kick for Harrison buter is good that's
