the end zone no kickoff returns for a touchdown so far around the League this preseason and the Dolphins decide to kick it you looking forward to his 2024 season getting off to his start tonight Rashad white is in the back field and up to the 34 yd line this will be the six cornerback all those positions are probably going to get finalized after this football game and rookie Jaylen McMillan in at receiver a quick toss to Chris Godwin his first action of the preseason and he crosses Midfield yard receiving season for Tampa Bay and Baker with a quick toss to White and Rashad white big hole through the dolphin defense their reserves their non-starters are in on defense but a big play for Tampa Bay right and of course pick up of 17 at opening drive Baker side L throw double coverage leaping into the air is McMillan and they're ruling it a catch that he stayed in Bound as he held on to the football and you could hear the Cannons F flag from the Dolphins sideline quick hand off white spinning his way down to about the two- yd line and looks like the challenge flag was thrown let's see if he beat it before the snap Mike McDaniel dolphin sideline throwing that red challenge flag you expect him to come in and play right away I think we've seen already in the preseason games just how good he can be from the four yd line on first and goal Rashad white he's into the end zone that's a Buccaneer touchdown he had nine total touchdowns last year in the regular offense against the dolphin backup defense well nine plays on that drive right Chris you said five of those touches went to Rashad white I think uh we're probably going to see the end of him and again I came in real excited about what he's going to bring to the table on this new offense and we've seen it plenty of open lanes plenty of Jeff Wilson the running back a quick toss Malik Washington the rookie from Virginia well obviously this Miami offense Chris is was one of the best in football last year for a lot of weeks probably about 15 weeks of last year all based on speed we'll get a feel for that a little bit here tonight and Wilson trying to find room shoved back before he got to the first down and looked like was that Logan Hall making the tackle Logan Hall's had a nice preseason there 94 they only need a yard Wilson will not get it a swarm of Buccaneers hit the coast and shoved him back like VI Jones and course V DEA was up there to start quarterback spot he is out with injured ribs hurt last week against Jacksonville so those are the only two AC quarterbacks for Tampa as the rookie from Oregon fourth rounder carries Bucky the buccaneer Irving I think other than that one drive last week right at the end of he has a moments deep down the sideline and just a slight overthrow for Ryan Miller seven catches this preseason this is a coming up on it at the 20 Washington with room Malik Washington across the 40 and up near Midfield they have crossed in to Buccaneer and I think they're counting on him to be that yeah he had a 28- yd punt return I want to clarify after the 42 yd punt this is Jeff Wilson and he will work his way to the Tampa Bay 40 and a first down for Miami Jeff Wilson one of those X 49ers who came over with Raheem Mo backup defensive players are in at most spots William Goldston Mike Green pass oh was caught for a first down it's at the 30 Anthony Schwarz and a flag down touchdown this preseason and there's cam Johnson in motion trass goes the other way underneath Cody Thompson hit as soon as he caught it Elijah Campbell delivered the hit for Miami Chris is to be reliable with your hands and that's all he's done I don't know that he an empty formation right now five wides on this second first I'm sorry first and 15 right here and the pass is caught his first NFL catch in a preseason game obviously for the rookie free agent from Barton College in Wilson North Carolina Barton College you know who Barton College is what a great they found this guy right away they said boy his measurements they're going to hand it off to him and a good tackle there on the sports science test whether it's jumping running physical that it was off the charts this guy well just wait till you get to see him run some routes he can camp unfortunately he's been hurt for the first two preseason games we're finally getting a look at this guy that everybody's been raving about Devon cul rookie tight end in the game TR there's a flag dropped and TR gets rid of it in the area Bucky her yeah the the buck scouted Cameron Johnson demeanor for this football team the young guys can deal with his expectations and the older guys love him Malik Washington is still going all the way up across Midfield before he's thrown out of bounds Rashad wisdom the rookie people's eyes saw Mike McDaniel creative play caller as the pitches to Jeff Wilson great tackle there and by the way Mike McDaniel they went to the playoffs the last couple of years he he he's got he's kind of a cerebral Surfer with a throw a little bit he has put him in the playoffs they've had four straight winning seasons even before he got there they were winning he just got him to the playoffs pass is complete Wilson wisdom was with him preseason they got a lot of guys that can do a lot of different things in that secondary a third and six a run play and the buck stop it Wilson short let's see if Mike McDaniel is setting up a go for it down the Dolphins meanwhile behind to a tonga vioa have a supposed backup quarterback bucks threaten Blitz but they don't White's throw is there but the coverage was good and knocked the ball away a shot wisdom the rookie try to make this [Applause] team last week at that safety spot not playing tonight and there's Bucky Irving showing some moves acrossing Midfield and near a first down looks like he's got it up this year trying to build a stable of young running backs tras High throw but caught that's Thompson he's got the first down that was good job by Kyle CR he was looking for four targets four catches and back to Bucky the buccaneer and he gets inside the 35 yd line checking with Dan yeah guys we're seeing a good show here from Cody Thompson again he's has NFL experience and guys who can catch the football Irving what a nice move to just save some lost yardage there I think that's what we've continued to talk about Bucky Irving like he's not a big guy right and our I can't because I care Oh Chris is opening up with the Chuckle Hut down the street here couple hours yeah actually s Splitters all right third down four and a timeout to Tampa Bay thankfully and there you know I want to talk more about him coming from Kentucky cuz he stayed in touch calling plays for the first time in the NFL yeah hopefully we'll have more time to share some of that conversation throughout the the broadcast because he is interesting to listen to tr floats one oh he almost hit C Johson mclin outstanding last year new contract this will be a 51 yard try he's missed a couple in the preseason that are normally in his range but looks like he's regular season ready that was a figured out and so I'm hoping that Z M colum does the same thing in his third year excellent defense up front after that 4 yd return the veteran tavier Thomas the former Texan W that's good to see tavier Thomas he did not have a great game last week but he's been asked to play a bunch of different positions he's playing safety to you I know the starters aren't in there but can't see vitaa what he may be doing with them I want you to kind of yeah absolutely give a thought on that as we watch here on second down 10 and Mike White's pass is deflected knocked away that's CJ Brewer CJ Brewer okay you you were talking about something else earlier when he had that big tackle in his first couple of series here on defense third and 10 jayen wri the rookie from Tennessee in the back field for Mike White and he will dump it off but an excellent tackle right away by tavier Thomas brci the tight end the rookie from Wisconsin haed it in but it's fourth down that's what you you love to see this I know a lot of people don't like going low but put by Jason Sanders Skyler Thompson five out of five do but I I I'm I'm very interested to see how many uh coaches decid to just keep kicking it through the end zone and get touchbacks Shan Tucker is in and fights hard to get five to the 35 yd line two timeouts remaining and Shan Tucker the back leads the team in preseason rush yards gets the football and brought down right away and not only does he lead the team he's had probably the the two biggest runs I think of the the preseason so far one in each game and weren't they were Heartbeat Away from a championship game in the NFC so they went a little further I think than than people thought anybody from the south could go tras knocked away good coverage over there must be nice on third and four Skyler Thompson Waits and oh he had the first down but forson Jr minute 13 and the Bucks having two timeouts Trail 17-7 hits down inside the 10 yd line with Cameron Johson so that may have a lot to do with making that decision fake to jail and right Skyler Thompson off the hands and let's see if that's a clean pick by Keenan Isaac if this is an interception no a guy like kijah cany inside open up be more free to to express himself as a pass rusher and I think that's going to Showcase itself this season why I came into this game want to see kija cany get a couple of snaps really good inside as well as having some Edge pressure cany had four sacks and right slips a tackle and still going down that sideline and a flag down at the 37 yard line standing considering it's his seventh year clogs the middle Thompson looking around and dumps it off to Jaylen Wright good hit on the fly a clean hit avier Thomas and then Chris McDonald was back fourman rush they dump it off to right short he slips one ankle tackle but then brought down that's Ernest Brown coming off the line are the Bucs concerned about more of a pass rush in the reg season right it was a question mark it was just a huge question mark at outside linebacking guys being able to rush and pass POS Ramirez has now getting his snaps on the field he was here's the flag before the full start right there okay here's Brewer right there look at him switch around trying to find Rush opportunities not that they're going to get one on third or forever but Anthony McFarland to the 25 and it'll be put on Baker Mayfield and and I I thought Liam Cohen had a great answer to that to that question about how he's going to deal with having a rookie center Canoe on the return and a flag down season and those occasional regular season meetings Shan Tucker with nowhere to go Bucks closing in on 200 total yards of offense you know he hasn't played uh since he's been in Camp he's brought in to be a guard he's in there now at guard sixth round pick from UTEP tras will complete right at the 20 Tanner tawa reactivated tight end for right at the 20 Tanner towa reactivated now with you know Kon and kke and we talked about um talked about dur he caught a pass delayed Blitz had to get rid of it and Deon C that's four so I mean there's really not much room for too many guys to get in that into that conversation so five or six receivers go on one of the injured list because he's he's he's not going to be ready for the regular season but that gives you one spot and to me it's it's it's between you know the Cody Thompson and Ryan Miller between who's going to get that last spot and receiver if we keep six of them good that you do it children's Pok the influence you have when you do something like that and that's special that a number one draft pick ends up with the Bucks and and the fact that he did a book report on it I mean that's I hope you got I hope you told Tiki and you split the royalties right hope you didn't keep them you don't get into children's books to make money but no no I know that grand K Burn's going to need a lot a lot of got something about him man besides the athleticism I think he's going to be a really good player on not going to have as many preseason games right you're going to get all the work you need in those in those uh joint practices maybe down to two in the future an 18 game regular season is talked about in the future Thompson's throw is caught in traffic Mallen just short of the goal line third McFarland is the back for Skyler Thompson hand signaling bucks Blitz and McFarland fights hard but is pulled back in traffic look like Maris Watts grabbed him around the hips and wouldn't let him cross the goal line Skyler Thompson keeps rolling throwing feet in McGowan touchdown [Applause] Miami kept his feet in and held on of the football all right it's a good route by mwan Chris McDonald got caught kind of looking back and his receivers started to spin away from him right toe drag was well done by the dolphin receiver and the extra point and Jason Sanders delivers two touchdown passes now for the reward for for winning a division is coming out with a tough schedule and the Bucks got a tough one I think this season yeah first place schedule as Sean Tucker carries yeah that Monday night game with the Ravens at home but then a a division opponent with the Falcons in between at home but then you go part of that schedule looks favorable sure absolutely based on the brutal part of facing the Lions 49ers Chiefs and Eagles in that earlier portion of the Year tras open at the 45 it's a catch for Tanner Cano Shan Tucker threw an excellent block look get working behind Bucky Irving want you talk about your rookie class this year a number that of them can be starters contributors tras floating one for the end zone and knocked away Ryan Miller the target but pretty good defense back there yeah very similar to the play that he scored a touchdown about these rookies I mean you you guys have done such a good job not only identifying talent but get getting the right guys into your program I know we've talked about this in the past just share a little bit they know we finish this play here you like this on Fourth and down going for it would you would you want this in the regular season trash is looking he's throwing oh he's got him did he hang on touchdown bucks Tanner could really has not just tonight he's played especially well tonight but he has shown a he has really grown uh this offseason in this Camp how about that these receiver this another free agent by the way and Cody Miller having a heck of a night I mean you're deep at receiver Avalanche of young receivers just come season ends after this game you got a week and a half or really two weeks before your first game but the roster construction I know you guys really take pride in the guys that you got did you bring in do you how many guys will you go to look on the street for the guys get cut find it too so it's really really rare that somebody's going to let a good player go so but we're we'll be prepared for that and we'll be prepared to construct that practice squad and develop guys from the practice squad as well and that's that's doing all the scouting right now in the preseason really that comes in like comes to fruition later on in the season when you're bringing guys in use now in your job working with Todd Bulls you know it take a little bit from all of them uh you know uh Bill belich what a phenomenal coach best coach of all time maybe um Andy Reid would is also up in that category but he's he kind of taught me he like how you kind of roll with the punches there bad stuff's going to happen you know hey tomorrow's going new day and you're going to wake up and you're going to feel a little better no matter how bad the situation is first time ever calling plays of any sort uh he goes has a successful career Baker Mayfield has his year goes to be the head coach of Carolina what was the process going to find a guy like Liam obviously he had never called plays in the NFL he done it in college how do you identify a guy like Liam because I think everybody that's around him thinks he has great energy and he's going to be great for this kind of separated himself and I'm sure that Baker Baker Mayfield head as Skyler Thompson throws on the run and the catch is made at the 35 of Tampa Bay I'm sure Baker had a vote on that for their five weeks together with the Rams when they kind of re re-energized Baker Mayfield well we yeah we definitely talked to Baker about it and Baker um we the reason why we did it it just it just so happened in this case that it was a you know it was a great fit there was yeah there was some comfort there on a first down Quick like Baker who you know had a top 15 type year last year as a quarterback for you know half of what some of these quarterbacks are making great Rush Skyler Thompson throws as he was being harassed by what was it about last year that that that made you the player that you were yeah really just working um you know I knew it was a contract year you know you got to get the work in but really uh being a professional and and going ultimately at end of the day having fun with the game that's that's the most important part you not only do you have fun with the game it looks like you're having fun with the game actually looks like you're the fastest guy on film every time I put it on but I want to talk about your secondary room right you get z m collums cominging in he going to be the first time expected starter uh in the league you you bring back you know just have us back there I can't wait for us to go out there and ball what what is it about this this defense that makes them special or could make them special I mean obviously we got some some young guys that are going to play you got tii Smith is going to be the Nickelback position you tried to play for a little bit um but just what's it what is it about that that makes this defense special to you yeah um all the guys are hungry I feel like that's the most important part you know you can see it in practice in 24 Skyler Thompson will dump it off and a miss tackle there [Music] for the Dolphins at one time they Trail 17 nothing but a couple of touchdown tosses from Skyler Thompson got him close before a moment ago but Antoine is such an impactful player I mean I don't think a lot of people really know what kind of person he is but not only he's a great player man a guy's a great dude what a second round draft pick he was as Skyler Thompson shows his rushing skills right how about that draft right you get Tristan wors in the first and you get side Baker Mayfield is not even in fact the Mike Evans just had a birthday on on Wednesday and Mayfield is 29 years old [Applause] out a first and 10 Thompson airs it out and incomplete our down and distance by the way brought to by ADV if John wolfer is on the 53 man roster which I don't believe the Bucks are going to do they're going to keep two uh then he can be an emergency third quarterback but if he's not you they won't let you the rule was going to be the Dig let you bring up a practice squad player which then you keep that third quarterback on the practice squad and you bring him up as an emergency quarterback on game day that did not happen so backup quarterback on a third down and 10 inside their own 40 Thompson intercepted second pick of the pre-season for the fox and Antonio Greer Jr who had a that from you he went three for three that one drive of 70 yards that set the tone early as Ramone Jefferson carries and the clock runs there he is ready to having to be a free agent then coming in and having to compete but when I talked to him last year I mean he he mentioned this is an ideal spot taken over for Tom Brady who else wants that job I do he said I want that job and he he went out and won it and he probably could obviously he's got Mike Evans in in the cash the interesting one will be Chris Godin who contract is up after this year I those are that that combination receivers is you know probably one of the top five or six Duos in in in football right now yeah I mean those two a th000 yds receiving each and then the young ones behind them and Trey Palmer and you spoken highly of Jaylen McMillan who when we have seen him he's looked like oh I was going to go through some of the you talk about the draft picks we you know Graham Barton is starting Chris brazwell Ed you said you know he has a sack he's going to help a linebacker and they go right to TA Smith who is starting and then McMillan who's really going to be in the
