BREAKING NEWS: Raiders 53-Man Roster Released

[Music] The Last Vegas Raiders have released their 53 man roster I'm Mitchell Ren host of the Raiders report we're going to be doing an instant reaction to this but you know what today's the day that I know a lot of people lose their job there's a lot of other people that get to live their dreams and I'm excited what Antonio Pearson Tom Tesco did because they had a lot of tough decisions to make the depth charts show you where they were at today talk about the players that were kept talk about the players that were cut there were some injury designations as well let's first look at the quarterbacks and you know I talked about Carter Bradley and Nathan Peterman not making this roster and I think by the Raiders telling you that they're going to keep two QBs I would say be on the lookout for the silver and black to potentially add another quarterback maybe in the waiver wire maybe looking at a QB sometime this off seon because I know that some people are telling me Oh Mitch jacobe Myers used to play quarterback that's not going to be the case here Raiders keep two QBs Gardner and Aiden the numbers that you're going to see next to these players as me counting it out how many players that we end up keeping let's now go to the running back room I've been saying all offseason that I am forecasting this team ending up keeping four running backs zir white Alexander Madison Amir Abdula there was some rumors circulating around the rookie Dylan lby due to some his late in the preseason struggle will they keep him they did decide to keep him I think it was the right decision you have to probably keep four running backs when you look at some of the versatility that Abdullah that lby still gives you on that special teams no real problems here thus far I will say that the wide receiver room not that I'm surprised but I think that the Raiders quite frankly got it right and Devonte jacobe Trey Tucker those were all a lock but in terms of which players ended up making it after DJ Turner that fifth receiver that sixth receiver I got to tip my cap to Tesco and I got to tip my cap to AP cuz I think that they got it right I'll tell you who ends up making an at decided to keep Tyreek mallister I'm glad they did legit player deserved to make it but they also decided to keep raml Keon a player that played really well in the off season showed some UPS showed some Downs at times but really I thought you could see the upside there and his ability to take over that fourth pre or third preseason game in the fourth quarter that beautiful who's obj one-handed snag Rambo Keon congratulations man let's now go to the tight end room I thought that the Raiders would end up keeping four tight ends that's what I've been preaching all off seon long because I know that they want to go with a lot of 12 uh 12 Personnel the two tight ends out there but the Raiders they're going to go with three tight ends they're going to go Brock Bowers Michael Mayer and Harrison Bryant I do think that this is the best three tight end Trio in the National Football League Bowers can obviously do a lot mayor's a really really good tight end number two and then Harrison Bryant you can't sleep on him either now it's time to go to the offensive line position and didn't necessarily know how this one was going to shake out I knew that the Raiders were confident in eight players based off reports that I talked about last week and I know that they were looking for that extra ninth offensive lineman the Raiders did exactly what I thought that they were going to do with the offensive line and Colton Miller just so you know is technically 16 but no big deal you guys will be able to see what I'm talking about so the Raiders end up keeping nine offensive line mean you knew it was going to be Colton Miller Cody whiteair Andre James Dylan PM theer mford were all in there and then it was who's going to be that last player Jordan Meredith absolutely deserves it he had a over 88 BFF grade in pass blocking was the better player compared to Ben Brown and just due to the injury concerns that we have right now on this team Cody white a can do a lot of things DJ glaze can do a lot of things Andres Peak can play tackle and offensive guard and Jordan Meredith also can do that the key word here for James Craig's new offensive line is versatility and just in case any of those players do end up going down the Raiders believe that this is the right offensive line group and quite frankly I agree with them I think they got it right so 24 players made it on the offensive side of the football coming up next year we're going to be going through the defensive side of the ball and there's one position group that people called me crazy I said hey I think the Raiders end up all the guys that are pictured were the players that I thought were going to end up making this squad but I was curious to see if the Raiders potentially could keep somebody else maybe like a Charles Snowden and they went pretty chalk here at the fence ENT you're going to keep Crosby you're going to keep Malcolm Co jius Robinson is the third best defensive ENT on this team sorry Tyrie Wilson if it was up to me I would have kicked Tyrie on the inside watch out though for Charles Snowden he's not done yet he's a player that I think that they're going to keep on the practice squad and tomorrow maybe even tonight depending on how late chugs and I are live you could also potentially get a practice squad video from us just based off projections now let's go to defensive tackle because defensive tackle was where I think a lot of people had many many question marks where John Jenkins Adam Butler Christian Wilkins were all expected to make this team and spoiler alert all of them in fact did and I mean did make the team but Byron young Matthew Butler next to Jade Silvera these were some question marks marquam Mall got released yesterday so there was nothing new there but for the Raiders and you heard Antonio Pierce speak very highly of Matthew Butler earlier in the week that's not it now they're going to try to bring back Butler for the practice squad but they end up keeping nested Jade svera and the third round pick from Alabama last year season Byron young I'm surprised that they kept Byron I'm not going to lie and I almost wonder if just because he was a third round pick but Matthew Butler in my opinion outplayed Byron young in the preseason and I don't think many people would disagree with that let's go to the linebacker unit now and this was I know AP is a former linebacker and I know that people called me crazy when I said that the Raiders could potentially keep six but the one thing that we have to remember and this has been something that I've mentioned time and time again here the Raiders want to have extra linebackers for the new kickoff return rule for their new special teams unit and that's exactly what they did but I thought that of them robertt Spain Divine Diablo Luke Masterson the rookie Tommy ikenberg in fact every single one of the Raiders rookies made the roster which I don't think is all that surprising Amari Bernie Amari Gainer really really happy for that young man right there and then Kai malga Kai malga continues to find a spot on the roster I will say this as soon as the Raiders go out and they add a player they're going to probably add I think one or two before the season starts maybe it's a waiver claim I would say then Kai Mao will be the first person that'll get released and then they would probably end up putting him on the practice squad let's go to the defensive backs now and the corner back room Jack Jones Nate Hobs jakori and Bennett Bennett uh all going to end up making it Doran Richardson MJ Devonshire these players were players that again we forecasted were going to end up making the squad Sam Webb was released earlier Cornell Armstrong was released earlier what were they going to do with Brandon fa Antonio Pierce talked about that he didn't love that he wasn't able to evaluate him all that much due to injuries and they decided to keep him anyway they wanted an extra veteran corner and I'm a little bit disappointed that AP decided to keep facing over a player like a Charles Snowden because if you're not healthy you're not going to have a lot of availability now I hope that he goes after and he can proves that he can stay healthy because the Raiders outside of Nate Hobs and and Jack Jones it does make me a little bit nervous in terms of their overall depth there at that spot let's now go to the safety room Travon Merck Marcus EPS they were locks to make it uh there was some concern whether or not Jaden Grant was going to be able to make this squad unfortunately for Jaden he does not make this team Chris Smith was somebody that I didn't know if they were going to be able to keep but they do end up keeping Chris Smith now some of yall are going to be like well wait a minute Mitch I thought you said Trey Taylor made the team Trey Taylor did make the team so remember the NFL you're allowed to have two players on that short-term IR the Raiders are only going to use one spot there and it's going to be on the rookie try Taylor he's going to be able to return to action week five so when Taylor returns week five one of the players that are already on that 53 they're going to get released maybe potentially go to the practice squad Taylor is on the roster he's just on short-term ir and he can return week five then to round out this bad boy special teams Daniel Carlson AJ Cole Jacob bobin Moyer that is your Las Vegas Raiders initial 53 man roster and I think it's always important to note just because it's the initial does not mean that it's the final quite frankly I think this roster is going to shake up very much so over the next few weeks leading up to the Raiders Chargers game but I got to know man give me a name who did the Raiders leave off their list and I'm sure there's probably multiple names like Charles Snowden I'm going to throw out there I think Jaden Grant could have been an interesting name Matthew Butler I thought could have been an interesting name some people are probably going to say Carter Bradley maybe Nathan Peterman I think the Raiders did the right thing uh by only going with two quarterbacks I know the video that I talked about this morning was like they might have to go with three but I still think that they did the right thing if I'm Las Vegas I try to add another quarterback potentially I don't know on the
