ladies back we right to be on this so got to bring out a game welcome to Statesboro Georgia and what many refer to as the prettiest little stadium in America and ifag [Applause] geted long for me couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 so Georgia Southern's offense will start this game off when your quarterback takes the field you want him to look just like this guy suiting confidence yeah the it Factor he's the man nobody questions it everybody on this team knows they've got his back and he's the lead everybody in this stadium also knows the offense goes as this guy goes he has got to play well today releas the ball on that first down pass and never had a chance Last incom leaves him still sitting at their own 25 with get some yards man I'm impressed with this defense man ising fast you seeast Defender was able to get to him and force the incom and a great job by the off you're the midle you better contr the line you can see the center the guard tackles doing a good job getting on their guys just enough where this running back can get the space and make the big game quick strike complete and he'll step out of bounds after a very Fight Man cover so there you see the spe his AC the field get sep on the to makes the catch turns it up f for the first a lot of time those draw plays are successful when those defensive linemen run up the field Rush the quarterback create some holes not this time the defensive line did a really good job understanding that seeing the draw play getting the running back getting his butt on the ground un to the out D bee on third well they try to throw for there on third down on the opening drive of the game they don't get it but let's punt the ball away let's trust our defense and guys let's also trust this home field advantage and the crowd to get loud make it so Marshall offense has the ball for the first time here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs week and we asked them who needs to step up and play well they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah they don't always show up in the Box Score but these are the guys are the leaders these the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed just too much juice on that one as he out of bounds well this defense knew coming in they were going to see some RPL and they were going to see some quick game and nice job there taking the throw away from the quarterback [Applause] takes a hand off it's p and he's able to bounce off one tackle for a solid pick up this defense has got to get better tackling in the open field of game tackling because if you need three four guys to bring a guy down will they keep it on the ground again third still the game up looking to throw for it he can't make the catch had it right in his hands and it'll be fourth down Marsh will be forced to punt third and short like that on your own side of the field you're just looking for a quick you're trying to get the ball your hand quickly but the timing completely off there for the offense and the ball I hate special teams un do I really do the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty so the offense keep this drive alive thanks to the roughing the punter penalty to give to the lone running back and that's a very prodive first down play and bringing up second and three I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and get some points for [Applause] the knock it away and the score like that might be the first of the game but what a great job by the defend the and it away on Third and short they'll try to throw for it using the quick game they've got it just outside the Red Zone they'll move the chains it's at the 21 Marshall back at it with another first and 10 not where we want to be from the gun running back on the and he'll pick up one BRS up and not want and offenses want to continue to feature the Run they want balance even if it's not super successful you can take it little bit at a time just to keep that defense honest didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he'll pull it on the re one J knows to get him on the ground well the QB decided to keep it on that one and listen if you had his athleticism you want to keep it too almost every time they run these types of option plays but he's just going to have to do a good job of understanding when to hand it off when to pitch it and try to keep this defense on their heels and read his keys he's got a lot of talent just unleashes one deep and that one's incomplete they weren't just trying to move the chain they were trying to move the for instead it's fourth down so they'll s out the field and the first points of the day come on that field goal so they're lining up to kick it off after that last Drive put a three spot on the board and now the defense will try to shut him down he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 not a lot of space to be found good by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 first down for the offense wide out in motion quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep not much working there it'll be second and N well and on these little push passes timing is so important trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of the the def imately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of a spot list it's important at that position to be able to be good off schedule everything's easy when it's on time you call out but when things break down they get off schedule you got to have a guy back there that can make the right decisions they stop him just short of the first down but it will be second and in coming up less than a yard to go to pick up the first down quarterback changing the plays at the line Williams will pass it's complete to the left excellent job working through the air there finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down that was a really nice catch and even better run after the grab and get the ball to your playmaker what's good about having him in SL is he can go either you can get matched up on that's not as fast watch run away from those line ority being a to run theb creance right here just up another first another chance continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got a burst if you give this guy just a he's going to right now he's doing some damage on this defense the tack is but he's got first and from the defense is on their heels right now they're going to find a way to stop this guy he's got a head of steam boy he is hard to bring down looking to [Applause] throw it for that TD really nice job open able to loc the football sag it out of the and this guy now has five receiving touchdowns on the year bu sh D he h on to that oh try to and the extra point makes it s to three they March 79 y on the drive the but up from inside his own 15 let's see how he can get needed just a little more help turn that a return they'll him down at the 29 back on the field guys that a little disappointing having to take the three I think Jess you see so many offens talk about getting yards the tempo and all the stuff they do a nice job moving the football but they got to get in the end Z this time yeah and I think to do that they just got to be more physical at the point of attack get some push up front they need to be the best running team in this game to win after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 from the gun they'll give it on the inside why you taking that b 4 there he goes and he picks up enough for the first down we'll see if they get another snap here in the first [Applause] quarter Ang teams the and they have exact that in the first come on bro right by they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first down Ed the play fake now to throw catch in the middle it's momery that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk exposive plays the defense finally able to make the [Applause] stop they'll run behind the big guys on the right they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and FW down with some bad let stop here's quick throw out the left there to make the stop but not before he sets up this off first and goal from the seven one of the things that makes this guy so dangerous is how good he is after the catch if he's got any space around him he's able to burst he's able to people miss and get extra yards for his offense you saw it right there what a job up front and he'll lose a yard on that one defense R up deep in it own end on that last play now a second and long coming defense well you obviously want to the theow this whole red zone offense thing has been a little sh they've been stopped twice already and he's going to take it to the house touchdown Marshall and I love it I love the physicality of this offense it's third and goal I trust my offensive line to pave the way give the ball to my running back and know he's going to physically punch this thing into the end zone about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown he'll start the return inside really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make theop at the 19 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again Jessie looking to take it down the field for backto back touchdowns think it's really important for them moving forward too to have a lot of balance he throws back across his body and it's picked off not on that return but I think they'll let him slide after making that pick and they'll have it at the a gamechanging play by this defense nice job you got them backed up in their own territory coming out now you for the turn set your offense up with some great scoring field position from the shot head off the yeah and the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be consistent make that defense physically Meet The Challenge on the run it's pain and a really nice run and pick up there before the defense avoided disaster and stopped the really big play well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive [Applause] alive receiver on the Move gets the touch pass he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimage defense R up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming need to get him off the field he's looking to throw they'll down the excellent extion on that throw cat they'd love to make this short field payoff with a touchdown instead of settling for three but it is third and [Applause] goal try to their way in and F the [Applause] down this guy just has a nose for the End Zone you love his ability to find creases use his speed in the open field and go score he's been really good for his offense early this year that [Music] already they still the job and that's not a given they're up by four over too looking for stepping to the right on the good catch good touchdown eag and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team like The Comeback is more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop get all the jues all the excit pass roll got come in full and the extra point they a 174 game lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive looking for daylight from inside nice return there and he'll be dragged down at the 34 Marshall takes over the ball the th her offense coming out these two defenses have had their head spinning here in the first half and now we might even see a little more scoring with this drive it's going back and forth this is like two heavyweights just trading blows David what do this defense got to do to get a stop here I tell you what man when you're giving up points like this and you've got no momentum you got to find somebody that can make a play to create something and listen if you're if they're scoring anyways INE and the catch was one thing and the Run even better a big pick up on that one this off lining up now at the 48 yd line on First and 10 grabed in the middle it's brown really putting together a threat now they got the first at the 37 Downs after that [Applause] comple they'll throw it on first down makes the catch it's Montgomery they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground to cover to pick up the first he's going to pass on second down complete with conviction on the cross good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch how about this offense they're rolling they got a couple first downs together defense next what's your response what do you got you got to make some adjustments will have to use his first time out of the half the a't got going they're down to the 25 on First and 10 he wants to throw going bragged in the middle it's brown he picks up the first down brought down but not before he put that dude in a blender it's first and 10 from the 13 they're threatening to score and they through it let it fly it falls incomplete he was trying to find his man for six tough pass start thr those balls towards the sidelines it's a it's a longer throw for the quarterback to make and I think that's when you see the majority of the misses for guys the majority of the overthrows and and a little bit of inaccuracy start to show itself in was shooting for the end zone right there and that's just a hug opportunity on offense QB missed his guy wide open in the end zone you might not get another clean look like that in the rest of this game they'll run the screen and listen that's not a surprise obviously they want to throw the football on third down and try to get a first down but it got abely nowhere great job by the defense tack for a they'll to salvage a field goal on this drive [Applause] the kicker delivers the three ball to finish off the drive not what we want so they put the field goal on the board about to kick it away and hoping that'll be the final points of this first half he'll bring it back from inside to spot didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put point on the for the break dances away from one delivers the contact and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one they'll use a timeout right before half time maybe time for one or two more plays one more play before the team's head to the locker room just going they're going to ride this running back they bring him down and he's lose a yard on that one at the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin and our halim update gentlemen you've had yourselves a superb broadcast so far today in Statesboro second half up Georgia Souther will start it with the kickoff from inside the 15 here comes the return he's brought down after a good return gets it out to the 31 the Marshall offense makes it way back onto the field they've got the Big Fellas out there a three tight end look on First and 10 going to the run to start this second half runs through a tackle bro how he on first down leaves him with second and you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you up a bunch of yard first make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the off they'll give it to the back he gets it past the change and it'll be a first down for Marshall and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark how about that to get stand in there and force the incompletion yeah and a really good job by the defender understanding the ball's coming I got to break on it and go and not try to intercept it and make a bad play he swats it down and make sure that's an incompletion unlo left thank you and is intercepted finally we got [Applause] a and he's going to run it all the way back touchdown Georgia Southern what a play by this defense with the six and how about the defender exactly what you're supposed to breaks on the football makes the interception everybody on defense we turn to offense go lay some blocks so my guy can get it and take it back to the house can't believe defense got to turn over in something can't believe it been L us so all game big play on the field and the extra point puts him on top by one they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six let's see what he can get done from inside his own 15 able to find enough room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 22 Marshall takes over the ball the Thundering Hur offense coming out the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it was a big mistake uh obvious the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense they'll throw it on first down with the catch it's pain and he laid the lumber to stop him from getting the first down I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job forting off the and he's knocked down but there's also a flag that's been dropped let's check on the [Applause] just an obvious holding call there and one that just kills an offens is [Music] momentum now on second down on the ground it's pay nice move there BRS a tackle and he's got room defense needs to recoup as he gets it down to the 26 Marshall quick to the line I love that play call this offense is going to run the football they're not just going to do it between the tackles but they're going to attack you outside you saw that with that handoff they get to the right they get him in space using his speed good play [Applause] call Marshall back at it with another first and 10 [Applause] he'll do it himself and into the end zone he rumbles all the way down to the two yd line he gave a little bit of everything on that one Marshall looking for the score on first and goal this one [Applause] is they'll try to get it in with the Run defensive line bit and with that they JP on top here in the second half this for the young fell I mean this dude's smelling the end zone anytime he gets near it you know he's going to lower his shoulder do whatever it takes to get in the end zone the hattick the third touchdown and he makes the grab so that scoring Drive took only six plays and finished to deal with the short touchdown run from the two looking for an alley from inside his own 10 really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get at it ready line gets set first down on the [Applause] option nice run there to keep things moving before they force him out of bounds and the evolution of the quarterback position basically you should call it running backs who throw the ball really well now and guys you know the other thing that happens here is that sets up the next play because you've sort of left the defensive line gassed trying to run down the quarterback oh you got to be in shape chasing him around all day on design runs on scrambles and you know it's just and the plus one advantage you get by having that guy it's just it's so hard to defend stopped at the 43 after the 15 yd pickup I love that play call and I love the timing of the fre snap motion because the quarterback was able to get it to the receiver right behind the off l because of the timing he was able to outflank the defense that puts him out in space where he's able to use his speed nice job with the pre-nap motion and timing now on first down from the 43 yd line they're trying to get to him trying toid Avid the nice job by the QB sitting back in the pocket you can tell he wants to throw the football go through his progressions nothing home off and slide I love this slide at the end don't take a big shot and listen if it ain't broke don't fix I mean I love teams that commit to the run and when it's successful keep running the rock yeah David I I think this offensive line right now they've got a lather going they're really sort of getting in the groove and flow of this game they're just getting tremendous push at the point of attack it seems like every single time they decide to run the ball let's see what they've got on second down well I know that one fell incomplete but what a day this guy has had thrown the football multiple touchdowns and he's done a really nice job with his decision making hasn't thrown any picks which has really helped keep this offense UNS schedule put it right on him sweet PL good pick up and they'll move the change with the first down oh white outs all wed up in a bunch to the ground with the back fak his man out and he was able to get away from one tackle but plenty of help was the way guy on ground that's your job get him on the [Applause] ground great play by the defensive back showing you his variety ofs his ability to turn the hips his speed running down field turning his head to loc the the red first and from quarterback making adjustments with his receivers from the Red Zone he's going to throw it makes the grab it's Arnold he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down line getting set on second down he's looking to throw moves around to clear up the vision he's got it on the move they get him on the ground and that'll be the final play of this third period guys it is Marshall carrying the lead into the quarter break and as we switch ends of the field let's take a quick look at the national rankings not only is a scoreboard on their side but so too is time as we open the fourth starting off this quarter close enough to smell the goal line jet swe pass and a good solid there the defense knocks him down and these little touch passes man they're just the easiest completions ever for quarterbacks Palmer I bet you would have loved being able to just flip it for that counts to your comp percentage which is good and then it's all R after the catch so pretty easy for a QB you wouldn't have been the only allaman in this Bo D if I were [Applause] allowed made to the house where they found that points waiting on them and it's now the second time this wide receiver has scored another outstanding job with the route great job securing the catch receiver has got to be able to win one just that on that so the offense more than happy result of the will deine theen about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for some running but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again how about the way they attacked the last time they had the ball mixing run and pass and winding up in the end zone Jesse that's why recruiting is so important they've got weapons at every skill position on the field any of these guys is dangerous if they tou the football let's see what they do on this dve bab and so I got to take away something I can't let them have everything and have success I got to be aggressive against the run and play for the pass I can't give him everything low those and they'll finally but a big CH of yard picked up just another big play for this guy who spent the entire game wide open couple of touchdowns there and he moves the sticks Again David yeah so I'll keep find ree I mean this is a guy that listen we're in the second half now he's already made plays I know I can trust him so I'm going to continue to feature him in this offense as I know he'll continue to make bigs great job by the quarterback thrown against Zone coverage you cannot Telegraph where you're throwing the football you cannot eyeball wide receivers so great job by the quarterback using his eyes not staring down his guys throwing him over give him 88 y on the ground and just another day the off the national leader in rushia most important part of a clutch Drive piece together some first downs get in position and here they are on First and 10 Williams will pass just let him a little too far across the sidelines couldn't make the catch in bounds it's incomplete after misfiring it's second down nice job by the defense there taking all throws away from the quarterback he had nowhere to put that football in the field play so that ball obviously had to go out of bounds he goes out of bounds after a solid gain on the play here we go third down and one let's see what you're made up they'll try to bully their way for the first and the Eagles it's an easy hole to get through and clearly get the first if you really want to simplify football the low man that time the offense got the better of the D easily pick that up the Eagles come to the line with a new set of downs trying to find his man on first down throws to the wide out touchdown Georgia s and they'll put that score on the great job with the score and listen right here at this point in the game there's still going to be time left my defense is going to have to make a stand regardless I'm going to kick the extra field goal still beats me if I go for a two-point conversion true true that they'll try and no problem on that extra point and we have a tie ball game here in the fourth they put together an 81 yd drive and they finish it up with a 15yd scoring toss looking for an alley from inside his own 20 able to find room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 26 the Marshall offense makes it way back onto the field looking for a productive play on first down they're going to throw it to start the drive just gets rid of it before the heat H hard just as he released it on first down and just couldn't get it to the receiver and finally the defense is able to get some pressure on this quarterback they had been trying all game long different ways to affect him weren't able to get there but on that play and full extension down the right side for the grab they'll rush to the line clock stopped for the first down they'll set the chain and wind the clock he's going to pass gets it out fast time out on the field and everybody want to make sure they're organized as we come down on the gut of the game trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down he's looking to throw spits it out the oh big big pi and they capitalized not only on the but on the return to improve this field position the defense was looking for a huge play in this tie game and they have just given their team a great opportunity I [Music] [Music] think now putting their off in a great the defense uses their second timeout of the half as they try to get the together D It's Crazy Georg will snap it in the Red Zone wide receiver coming across in motion quick pass on the jet motion headed to the end zone can right cross the plane to get the six but they'll have the first down the defense going to stop the clock with a timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page what a finish we have unfolding here the off in theing moments and a chance to take the lead nowhere to run the so on offense you've got to find a way to put six up on the board you know that in this game field goals may not get it done so big time players make big plays in big games who can you rely on right now to get you a touchdown just got B can get it the offense takes a timeout with 30 seconds left defense rolls up deep in it own end on that last play now a second and long coming the run up the middle here looking for a path to the end zone Relentless tough running gets it down to the four it's all tied up this offensive line they want the pressure they want everything to go through them here they're saying look let's just run the ball let's get this thing down closer and closer to the goal line let's bleed some clock and put ourselves in position this defense was put in a difficult spot but they've made it tough and now the offense faces third and goal on the Jet Sweep and they swarm him under the timeout stops the clock with 10 seconds to play and now on fourth down they will put it on the shoulders of the kicker save them with his footl the on the sideline as they take the lead in the final seconds it is a nerve-wracking feeling as a football player when the game comes down to your kicker and he has to come through and Palmer he comes through you know in college football no field goal is automatic there's noge kicker situation here he drills that right through the ight the Le that L if they can get and them from tying the game in the seconds got Tak it own F come on bro nothing look at the clock probably out of field goal range David maybe time for one more shot desper you got to dial up what
