Hedges the field where some of college football's greats have called home Sanford Stadium in Athens Georgia where these fans are ready to turn the dogs loose there's nothing quite like a great rivalry matchup in college football the bitterness the intensity the lifetime of memories that will come as a result of what we're about to see in this one as we'll see the number 15 team in the country the Tennessee Volunteers taking on the number one team in the land the Georgia Bulldogs for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer time to get this game [Applause] started and the volunteers will put total WEA to crank us up [Applause] fielded In The End Zone it's Smith he's got great speed this guy makes you hold your breath when he for in his hand line of the coverage team the only thing that stopped him from housing it fly get set first down defense showing plenty of pre-nap movement of their own On The Run it's etn he stopped at the 48 a pick up of 10 on the play well it's an electrifying run think about the tradition of the running back position for the Bulldogs Hershel Walker in his Heisman Trophy no Shan Marino and how about this Todd Gurley Nick chub and Sony Michelle all there at the same time I bet this guy could have got into that rotation though cuz he's got those types of skills grabbed behind the line it's Smith finally run out of bounds but he has this hense rolling with a first down it's not just a strong running game the dogs can be dangerous with those weapons up top and I think when you've seen Georgia really dominating college football over the last several years it's because they've been more aggressive more willing to throw the football early Downs trust their quarterback not just the ground game and they picked up nine on first down it'll bring up second and short Georgia comes quickly to the line they have had to wear that beat down since the last time these two met Jesse and they've been talking about it for a long time they were absolutely embarrassed the players the coaches the fans you know David coming into this game this time they want to put out a much better performance oh there's nothing worse the coaches are riding you all week leading up into this game reminding you showing the Clips in the locker room you know you failed you want to come out and get a great start in this football game early the give to the tail back dropped after a pick up of three down to the 26 and and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven looking for a gap it's etn able to make the tackle but not before he gets five yd down to the 21 already in Chip Shot field goal range at the 21 but this third and short they're still thinking touchdown he steps out of bounds but it will be enough for a first down third Downs are huge I got to have success on third down sometimes I got to break out some plays that you haven't seen nice job getting the wide receiver the football hand him the football let him do some things in space let him get a big first down for you let him get a new set of downs for you the Bulldogs with the first and 10 now the quarterback changing the original play call head it to the end zone gets out of bounds after the big play and they'll be set up in business for a first and goal I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the kind of running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a really good omen for this offense considering his success now early got it now on first and goal let's see what Georgia will do quarterback Steve trying to power his way ahead for a few can the defense stop them again on second and goal that's the end of the first [Applause] and they'll try to open this quarter by sticking it in the end zone [Applause] here quarterback sneaks ahead and I don't think he got in those big bodies up front just creating a wall at the goal line well they try to go quarterback sneak and I know to a lot of people that's a play we all take for granted like it always works quarterback sneakes are designed to get just one inch somehow you've got to come up and do it but the defense there David they bowed up and stopped them did a great job listen everybody knows what's coming you know it's a quarterback sneak it's still hard as heck to stop but nice job by the defensive lineman get off the football don't allow them to go backwards don't push you backwards at all and then what do you see with linebackers a lot of times they're come flying in there making the stop but nice stop by this defense expecting the quarterback sneak well you see the speed of the defense on that last play deep in their own end offense trying to go Jet Sweep but they were able to pursue the ball get him down now setting up fourth this offense wants to get out of the gate fast on their first drive of the game plus territory they'll go for it on fourth down looking to throw it's back fires into the end zone and it's caught touchdown Georgia that cap it off with that impressive rushing touchdown ling up to attack one more onto that lead and with the extra point point they get the first seven of the game they put it in the end zone with a 12pl scoring drive and they get it into the end zone with a 6yd touchdown pass the kickoff team Tak the field to one [Applause] away no fair catch called for and [Applause] me first down here for the offense wide receiver now comes in motion they'll give it to the back keeps the legs moving he stopped just a chain link or two away from the first down and sets them up beautifully here man when I can run the football like that on first down and create second and inches and stay way ahead of the sticks and and be in a position that where I can throw the football or run I will have a lot of success on the offensive side of the football and chunk plays are the G of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page the offense lines up at the 40 they've got a first down single back formation and they give it to it you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs dropping back it'sa he looks that one in nicely they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover pick up the first this quarterback right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job ining get the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great rhym right oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down yeah and third and short that choose not to run throw the football and I think a lot of that has to do with they know they're in field goal range they can take the three points on the board would have just been a 49 y field goal try but they're hungry for Touchdown so they'll try to move the chains on Fourth and short a designed Run for the quarterback brought to the ground but not before getting it up for the first down so going for it on fourth down is one thing quite another to say we're going to run it for a couple yeah that's impressive because that was a long two yards and I think there are a lot of coaching staffs out there that would have probably tried to throw it or get the quarterback on the perimeter or give him a run pass option but not this offense they believe in their guys up front to get down to a three-point stance and drive off the ball and it works out listen the offense Stars those plays where they want to get their Playmakers the ball and the defense understands it as well I got to know when that guy comes in motion he's a legit threat they did and you could tell they pulled the trigger and went and made a nice play grabbed in the back field it's Thorton they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down and those slot receivers nowadays they little to water buts man you can play Touch football and an elevator to lose to these guys because they're so quick and so Dynamic get open pressure is on the way and the pressure has arrived and down he goes at the 30 quick timeout by the defense here trying to make sure everyone has the same call the volunteers will try to pick it up on fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up the first down and that pass intercepted made the play on the pick was hoping to make one on the return he'll have to settle for letting the offense pay it off from the 26 you know I like the decision by the quarterback in terms of where he was going with the ball just don't like the accuracy that was not good location on the throw got away from him a little bit and the defense able to come up with a big pit first down here from the offense he wants to start this drive with a pass he'll pull it down nice job of of avoiding the sack and picking up a few on the run the offense will quickly use a timeout just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime from the gun they'll give it on the inside and the defense makes the tackle and that ought to do it here in the first half the inside hand off can't get him to the ground he make the Stop and that is the end of the first halfe Georgia will kick it deep to start the second [Applause] half and it'll be a Touchback the ball will come out to the 25 yd line [Applause] the volunteer offense is back and they hope it's touchdown time in Tennessee if they're going to get on top in this game they're going to have to find a way to get the running game going in the second half agree so it can create some more balance some more unpredictability I feel like this defense has got a good beat on what they're doing especially if they don't mix it up a little bit so I do look for a little second half running the football pal right of this group and I think the thing Dave is they just got to be more physical I don't think this is a scheme question about trying different run plays I think it's up to the Big Fellas front they've just got to make the decision that they're going to be tougher here in the second half so that they can win this game and so many things have to come together perfectly for a screen to work for big yardage and they were closed you could tell that almost busted but it just got wrapped up got a little bit of yardage but they really wanted that one to be a big game looking for a man it's iova got his man quickly one of the things I love about this defense they just have such great awareness and they're always communicating they understood the down and distance they knew exactly what they needed to do to make the tackle to force the punt that is so well done they're in their own territory but they only need a few inches and this is why you have a prominent jawline and an urgent resolve they'll go for it good pick up there as he gets the first down and they'll Mark him at the 48 in your own territory if you don't make it I mean it invites disaster but it's fourth in inches they had to go for it and they made it if I lost a bunch of weight I'd be skinny but I didn't so go for it every single time I love it the vs will line it up on First and 10 fast motion from the offense they'll go to the ground and that's a very productive first down play and bringing up second and three I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up we the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three they go to the ground and he's brought down after a nice game you're down obviously at the half you had a conversation got to come out and put points on the board and Jesse it looks like they're going to start with the ground game and I love this David too regardless of whether they're losing or they're winning come out here and try to be the most physical unit here in the second half get this run game established and the balls are rolling down the field wide receiver shows motion on the run it's Samson he make the stop but he got wor done on the ground picking up six to the 23 yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting him drive off the ball on first down on these running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four running back searching for a hole there to stop him after a pick up of one to the 22 [Applause] timeout call by the defense is their first of the half as they'll go to the sideline and try to make [Applause] adjustments one final play before the end of the quarter back to throw it's imala looking for the end zone and that shot down field Falls in complete and that's how we'll wrap up the third quarter and here we go down a score they'll go for it on fourth down the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page it's a one-or game late and they've got to go for it on fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up the first down he's got him and they convert and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chain sometimes we don't give enough credit to a receiver knowing exactly where he needs to be on the field and they pick up the first down there yeah and you got to give the receiver credit obviously knowing where that is but the defender needs to know where it is too where is he trying to get that Ball's going to come out quick he didn't really understand where the sticks were and because of that he gives up the first down need to just be a little bit more aware as a defensive guy takes a hand off it's Samson and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play and that would be the definition of first down success putting yourself in a good position it's second and inches I can do whatever I want next I can take a shot down the field I can run the football and get a new set of downs like nice first down execution going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone going to the running game gets it inside the five down to the four it'll be first and goal well it's an offense that Prides himself on being physical no mystery there you need one yard turn around hand it off let him go to work we have reached the two-minute warning and time is of the essence if this offense is going to make a play and a big opportunity for this offense to tie the game up in the fourth with a touchdown they're going to give it to the wide receiver on first and goal and he takes it to the house touchdown volun and great job executing the offense did what they needed to do you got somewhat of a decision here do you want to kick it tie it up I I think you do with this time frame you know one to two minutes left in the fourth quarter you probably want to do that but you could push the envelope you could go for two and try to take the lead there was a little pressure involved on that last extra point but he put it through precise Relentless execution on that 13pl scoring drive and they finish it off with the score from the four on the run from inside his own five and the returner will be knocked down and Georgia ready to go back to work on offense and in a low-scoring game like this one David every possession is magnified and I think more than anything it just gets frustrating and you got to put that behind you you got to see what this defense has been doing to be so successful PA now use it against them yeah David I think for a play caller this is tough right it's like you have to have the perfect play on just to get a first down in these types of games I think you're just trying to get guys out in space see if a dude can break a tackle maybe that generates an explosive play and it breaks this [Applause] trend it's a reverse pick up of five they'll need five more on third down everybody has to be set they have to get it off to throw it's back missed re there it's incomplete well I know it hasn't been a tremendous day statistically for this quarterback but his decision making has been good enough to win this game hasn't thrown a lot of TD so far but when things aren't open he throws it away like on that play right there he's not putting his team in a bad spot and that's why they still have a shot to walk out of here with the B we've got a Timeout on the field and we are set up for a terrific [Applause] finish Georgia sends out the punt team the punters have had the day off up to this point first one of the game you'll call for the fair catch here Tennessee ready to go to work the Big Orange offense on the field the sleding has been tough scores have been at a premium Jesse in every possession seems like it could switch the momentum of the game yeah re for this offense just feels like they just haven't been as physical for this offensive coordinator David he's having to go deep into the Playbook just to try to generate a first in and the good thing is there's not a ton of game pressure cuz the other side's not scoring either but if you can find that one thing that get that one positive play and then maybe you get those choices going and something can start to Bild how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions ball spotted him right at Midfield as they try to convert third and short just going to keep it after the snap they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you know they went QB designed run but there just was nowhere for the quarterback to go couldn't go outside and there was just way too many bodies on the inside for him to get anything positive they losing a tie game here late and they do not want to give up this football they'll will go for it on fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up the first down fires toward the end zone it's incomplete in the clock strike zero and we are headed to over time [Applause] first play of the first possession of OT wide out in motion use the play fake now to throw looking to the big tight end if he houses this it's ball [Applause] game that no defense has its back against the wall as they try to extend this game and force another overtime looking for a crease it's etn they wrestle him to the ground but he's got PL for a first down and the dogs will hustle to the line they'll give it to him again and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to [Applause] go going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down touch pass on the Jet Sweep he got it in a walkoff touchdown in overtime one of the reasons this offense is so exciting to watch they've got guys that are dangerous after the catch if this quarterback gets through his progression David hits you in stride he's got
