From #10 to Unranked: FSU Out of the Top 25 After Week 1 | 2024 College Football

hey lifers Dustin here this is college ball lifer coming to you from my job right outside of my job by the airport so hopefully the sound isn't too bad on this the week one or after week one AP Top 25 Poll has just dropped I'm going to talk about in this video and then make the graphics when I get home so this video will be up a little later the other ones will be on Sunday so those shouldn't be as big of an issue but luckily this one came out on Tuesday as it always does for the first week so a lot of drops number 10 Florida State not here not even receiving a vote which I wonder if that's the first time that's ever happened for a AP pre-season top 25 team or top 10 team to drop all the way out of the poll and not even receive a vote just wild times were living in after that embarrassment against Boston College last night so let's get into it again hopefully the audio is okay and we'll start at the bottom and work our way up number 25 is the Clemson Tigers 0 and one after losing against number one Georgia in Atlanta 34-3 if you don't count Florida State dropping all the way out of the poll they are the furthest drop within the poll this week at 11: uh they host App State at 8:00 on the ACC Network these times are all Eastern and so they get a prime time home opener to try to rectify some things number 24 NC State 1 and0 after beating Western Carolina 38-21 uh pretty interesting that they stayed where they were they were actually trailing the catamounts entering the fourth quarter I believe they take on number 14 Tennessee in Charlotte this weekend at the Panthers Stadium at 7:30 on ABC that should be a pretty fun scene there number 23 is Georgia Tech as we all I think suspected moving into the top 25 here they were not ranked they beat number 10 Florida State in Dublin 24-21 and Georgia State last week 35-2 they travel to Saku at noon on acc Network to continue the Run of ACC teams here you have number 22 Louisville one and o moving into the rankings they beat Austin P 62 to nothing they host Jacksonville State 3:30 on ESPN plus number 21 Iowa moving up four spots in the rankings after beating Illinois State 40 to nothing they host Iowa State at 3:30 on CBS weird that is a CBS game now number 20 Arizona moves up one spot after beating New Mexico 61 to39 they host Northern Arizona at 10:00 on ESPN number 19 Kansas moves up three spots after beating lynen wood 48-3 they host Illinois at 7 o'cl on Fox Sports One Number 18 LSU drops five spots after their loss to number 23 USC 27 to2 in Las Vegas Sunday night LSU and Clemson the pair of tigers are the only teams in the top 25 with a loss so far they host Nichols at 7:30 on ESPN plus number 17 Kansas State moves up one spot after beating UT Martin 41-6 they travel 2 to Lane at noon on SBN number 16 Oklahoma State moves up one spot after beating number one FCS ranked South Dakota State the defending national champions 44 to 2020 they host Arkansas at noon on ABC that should be a fun one number 15 Oklahoma moves up one after beating Temple 51-3 they host Houston at 7:45 on the SEC network just like we all expected a couple years ago Houston and Oklahoma in a power four matchup on the SEC network number 14 Tennessee moves up one spot after beating Chattanooga 69-3 they take on number 24 NC State in Charlotte 7:30 on ABC number 13 USC the big winner this week moving up 10 spots after that win against LSU they host Utah State at 11:00 on the Big 10 Network very weird number 12 Miami moves up seven spots after demolishing Florida in the swamp 41 to 17 they host Florida A&M at 6:00 on ESPN plus number 11 Utah is the big 12's highest ranked team they move up one spot after beating Southern Utah 49 to nothing they host Baylor in at 3:30 on Fox moving into the top 10 now you have the Michigan Wolverines the defending national champs actually drop a spot after beating Fresno say 30 to 10 a little closer game in the fourth quarter they have the big game of the week hosting number three Texas at Big noon on Fox number nine mouri moves up two after beating Murray State 51 to nothing they host Buffalo at 7:00 on ESPN Plus number eight Penn State won at West Virginia 34 to2 after a really long weather delay they actually stay put at that number eight spot they host Bowling Green at noon on the Big 10 Network number seven Oregon lost their only first place vote that they had in the preseason after dropping four spots after barely beating Idaho 24 to4 even though the offensive stats looked incredible they host Boise State at 10 o'clock on peacock so that'll be online only I believe and got to be careful there Boise State put up a lot of points against Georgia Southern this past weekend number six Old Miss stays at number six after beating my Ferman Paladin 76 to nothing good Lord uh they host middle Tennessee at 4:15 on the SEC network moving in the top five this week is Notre Dame moving up two spots after their Road win in prime time at number 20 Texas A&M 23-3 they host Northern Illinois at 3:30 on NBC number four is Alabama moving up one spot after thrashing Western Kentucky 63 to nothing they host USF at 7:00 on ESPN and what figures to be a pretty nice Revenge game for jayen milro number three Texas moves up one spot after beating Colorado State 52 to nothing they travel to number 10 Michigan at Big noon on Fox and the two teams in the AP poll with first place votes number two Ohio state with five first place votes they actually lost 10 of those this week they stay at number two after beating akan 52 to six they host Western Michigan at 7:30 on the Big 10 Network and number one is Georgia with 57 first place votes they gained 11 from the preseason poll can't go up so they are still there at number one after beating number 14 Clemson 34-3 they host Tennessee Tech at 2:00 on ESPN plus dropping out of this week's polls were number 10 Florida State and number 20 Texas A&M the next five up according to the next five highest vote Getters Texas A&M Boston College Boise Iowa State and Memphis and the conference breakdowns where the SEC leads all conferences with eight the Big 10 with six the ACC and Big 12 with five a piece and
