Sudoku solution – New York Times 14 September 2024 Hard level

hello fellow sedans and welcome to Zen and the Art of the Guardian sodoku puzzle it's uh Saturday the 14th of September 2024 sorry about the background construction noise it's annoying I know if you if the microphone is picking up certainly it's much louder for me than it is for you cuz the microphone is pointing at my mouth not pointing at the window which is where the sound is coming in uh I don't have a soundproof Studio or anything like that of course um sometimes wish there were more information about when in news stories uh the AP is a very good news agency um there's a story today about a woman in Austria who's been found guilty and sentenced to prison because of intentionally infecting someone with covid-19 uh strange okay that we think it's rather strange person should be sentenced to uh prison uh it seems like a weird thing you know um uh and how is it proven well in fact the the virologists um prove that it was definitely given to a man who had cancer who died subsequently died but the reason that it's uh strange and what we find odd about it is that apparently this was her second so you know first of all you would think no surely not prison for it doesn't seem likely surely could be an accid some kind of accidental infection but then you hear it was her second offense and she'd already been uh found guilty of uh giving covid to somebody else uh and given a I think a suspended sentence 3 month suspended sentence previously uh and that was last summer so um what's going on with this woman is she going around intentionally you know trying to murder people like this I mean you know what's the background story here I wish we knew more that's all the information I can give you basically the outline um so perhaps we'll find out more at some point who knows shall we get on with our game of sodoku this is the New York Times hard level sodoku puzzle regular for this channel if you are new to the Channel please subscribe to the channel I don't heard some people refer to it in that not not this channel but people but channels that have small numbers of viewers and um uh uh subscribers called Boutique channels so I'd prefer it to be a large try to speak in rhythm with a banging Hammer of the outside that's going to put a seven there seven blocks down here across there and there is that the last one no it's not oh no of course we've got sevens up there and there okay right still more work to be done on the sevens now I can hear the sounds of Monks chanting in the background but it's very faint the microphone won't be picking that up but that's very Zen like it's now I would mind if that was louder it would be kind of suitable for the name of the channel in a way excuse me we've got eight and N blocking up here we've got a pair of that's got to be a four then four across here and four across there there's our four so we've got two and six in those squares there so we have sixes up there any info about the twos not much but we have one blocking this Square One blocking this Square so there's one still to be done in this row 68 I think for we have another pair we have one and N blocking down here so that gives me one and N in those squares there this then is not one or9 it's going to be 28 268 so that gives me a pair of twos there sixes are there and that's for the eights not a great deal all right let's wander around in case I spot anything else for oh oh hang on 34 here right so I'm left with 2 six I should have realized when I put that one in I had kind of a pairs here that were unique so six blocking there there's the six and what's the other number it's not three or four it's a two wasn't it I should have realized that if I if I had my memory was any better I would have as soon as I put that one in cuz I worked out these three were pairs but you know as soon as you got one you'd get all of them but I did forget that as I am want to do go put my two here okay right now let's start looking around for I didn't realize that's the only eight actually on the board although we know eight and nine are pairs in those squares there that's the only eight on the board eight looks like it could be our tricky digit uh okay I didn't really spot anything useful there I think I think I've got something here 1389 across the bottom 1389 four numbers missing four numbers I can't see 139 attacking this Square that's going to be an eight uh now yes eight blocks this Square so that's the eight isn't it and this is six isn't it I worked out before we had the N9 and one blocking down there didn't we six is there yeah this was one and n and this then is going to be two we had our 1 nine blocking down there if you remember so we put one and N in those squares okay and we still have one and N in those squares six blocks across here and six blocks down there so there's a six uh eight now blocks this Square we needed eight and nine in this column didn't we so this is going to be the nine and this is going to be the eight and over here now we've got three and nine blocking across there so there's the nine there's the one one we still need to finish this row missing digits here are what three and eight which we we can't get just yet but at least we've gone forwards quite a lot because now we can just get another digit up here that's going to be nine I think and so we have nines across and up and up and we've got nines across here and there and up here so nine is retired injured uh we have what's left four blocking this Square here so in that row there's our four this will be an eight uh I think we've got one blocking this Square One blocking this square and one blocking this Square so in this column there's our digit one we'll take the ones across like so and a one up there to give us one in the top row actually we got one across here and one up there as well and ones are now finished two blocks this Square in this column we need a two it must go there we have three blocking up here there's our three and this would be four last number to place here is three I think what's to get up there I know it's seven and something seven what's the other number uh four any help on seven that gives us eight this Square three goes here and the missing digit here is six eight blocks up here there's our eight this this will be a three last number to place up here is a seven now that's going to give us a seven over here I've been waiting for that seven for a long time and this is our four four across here there's our four here's our three so it's not been a very strenuous uh New York Times puzzle today has it not strenuous at all in fact pretty easy so that's our New York Times for Saturday leaving us with a nice free weekend to go swimming in cold water I've got to force
