got Phillies on the agenda today Phillies win again four game winning streak against two very good teams unfortunately Taiwan Walker goes tonight for the Phillies so or this afternoon for the Philly so we'll see if that win streak continues into tomorrow or not and the Eagles officially finished their 53 man roster their initial 53 man roster Hoy Roseman Nick siani spoke yesterday afternoon to the media I gave that a listen so I have as much information possible guys I got I've got a skip Payless hot take rant of all rants to go on later in the show let me tell you something my hot take it's it's it's it's interesting to say the least and it's about a little competition and stuff like that anyway guys so let's dive into it let's see what we've got here already duck I love when duck or anybody are in the comments like two minutes before the show even goes live just tells me people can't wait to get on here to chat to talk and good morning to you duck I hope you are well this morning uh it's just the initial 53 uh practice squad so yeah 12 o'clock today uh the Eagles will find out which one of their players they put on waivers made it through and they can add to the practice squad they also find out which players at 12 o'cl that they put claims in on that they were awarded so whatever players they put claims in on and they award it then they're going to have to put them on the 53 roster so if they put in claims on four guys and three of them are awarded to them they're going to have to make three Cuts today so the roster as it stands today is not complete obviously but the roster as it is right now at 800 a.m on Wednesday morning kind of tells you a little bit about the different things it tells you what they think of the guys that they cut and and and the guys that they kept it tells you based off of the distribution of those 53 spots uh where they consider more important or where they consider deeper or whatnot and it also tells you guys that they were concerned about that couldn't get through waivers because I think some of the guys that made the 53 initial roster weren't making it through the initial waiver wire claims and would have been lost to other teams so I think while it's not a complete roster and hoe Roseman was very very open about it about the uncertain C in the next 24 hours um and that you know Howie doesn't look at as a 53 man roster he looks at as 70 man roster because of the practice squad which that's just Next Level Thinking by the way how Roseman when he spoke yesterday everything he said was so calculated and so smart I know there's people that are going to come on this show and Crush hoe Roseman as always I was getting crushed for hoe Roseman comments yesterday on Twitter it is what it is but how Roseman has Next Level thinking when doing this kind of stuff yes the question is can the Phillies keep winning that's another whole question Phillies won five nothing last night uh Cole or Cole haml why did I say Cole ham Aaron Nola had a dominating seven Innings last night Nick castalanos a big bomb three-run home run couple manufactured runs the bullpen guys were lights out in the eighth and ninth inning pretty simple five nothing Victory last night I mean it was pretty basic pretty stressfree uh baseball last night for the Phillies but can they keep this up now they have a scheduled loss tonight with Taiwan Walker going again and I don't know if you guys know but Taiwan Walker is not a very good pitcher anymore so the odds are not in our favor to win today four o'clock game out at Citizens Bank Park really wish I had the day today would be it's gonna be hot so maybe I don't want to go today um so you got that and then we got the four game series with the Braves coming up starting tomorrow um so the question is they probably won't win tonight but then can they take maybe three of four against the Braves this weekend because even though we have a four-game winning streak our division lead hasn't increased it's still six games so a four game series against the Braves you win three out of four you increase that lead back up to eight or so and and you're sitting pretty now if the Braves come into town and and beat us three out of four and all of a sudden that division leads shrinks a little bit then we got then we got a little concern there's less than 30 games left so I think as long as we keep that division lead in that you know 4ish or sixish game we should be good to go um so there's lots there to get into Good morning Joe how are you this morning hope you are well so there are the things that we're talking about today they're the early comments from Duck in the comments section there we are talking pretty strictly here about those Eagles and the 53 man roster and that Philly's win last night I mean I think that Philly's win last night did a lot of good things actually the the last two three wins did a lot of good things for the confidence of the Phillies he had a big walk-off win two nights ago big walk-off hit from Bryce Harper last night just a comfortable dominating performance from Aaron NOA are the things teams can build off of and I think the Phillies are trying to shake off that six8 10 week stretch with of of poor play but it's not just shaking off you got to shake it off you got to start playing better but you also have to build your own personal confidence up and they're starting to do that you're seeing more and more guys bust out of their slumps even even Alec bom got a hit RBI hit last night Nick castalanos with a big hit Nick castalanos has been great honestly for 90% of the season so far so it was a very important good win for the Phillies last night little G what is up good morning to you 14 and three I don't know we're getting closer and closer to my record prediction almost Monday so we got two more show today and two more shows and then the next show after that Monday morning I will give you my prediction on a side note about the eagles and their prediction obviously week one in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers I put it out on Twitter I didn't get any responses from it um does anybody that watches this show know anybody that's going to Brazil for the Eagles game Eagles Packers week one game because I really do want to get a firsthand account um from some people that are going to be there I really do want to know how this whole Brazil thing plays out for everybody for the fans what they're wearing the excitement level what the Brazilians think of it I really want to get some firsthand accounts of what's going on out there so if anybody knows anybody hopping a plane getting their passport stamped down in Brazil shoot me a message after the show Facebook Twitter Instagram bit here uh not aware of anyone going to Brazil sorry yeah I I you know what I I I thought I would put that out there on Twitter yesterday and I thought my I don't want to say my phone would have blown up with notifications but I would have figured that somebody somewhere would have been like yeah I'm going down and I I would have got at least one or two or someone would have tagged somebody that they knew I don't want the reporters perspective I mean I get the reporters we might have another great Eagles beat reporter on here tomorrow I'll confirm that after the show and then you might have to wait till tomorrow to hear about which one will be joining me I just gotta confirm it first um I can see you see eye contact eye contact TMZ I see you see the eyes are always open um I just wanted to get that firsthand account everybody talked about you know the rivalries what you can and can't wear down in Brazil I I I don't know what kind of football fans Brazilians really are so I really wanted to get that but you know no one's hit me up on that anyway Eagles 53 man roster here it is the official initial starting roster for the Philadelphia Eagles now as you can see extremely heavy on defense and extremely light on off excuse me obviously the quarterbacks and running backs were pretty much lock set solid Herz picket mcke saquan Kenny G and and will Shipley wide receivers obviously Brown Smitty and Dodson were making it yes Camp Stand Out Johnny Wilson did make the team Britain cvy did make the team the first time in his year career he's actually made the initial roster so Props him anas Smith Phantom injured list stint is he's going on that you know he's going to be back or available to come back in about six weeks so he didn't make it John Ross was cut Joseph Nagata was cut bunch of guys were cut there I don't think there's any surprises there the first surprise in the 53 man roster is the fact they only kept two tight ends in Dallas SCD in Grant calcatera yesterday morning around 10 10:30 the first big piece of news dropped when EJ Jenkins was cut you already had cut um CJ usma and cutting EJ as well um kind of was a surprise and yes I see the comment I was gonna make it make this comment the aqua Bowman era lives on because along with uh anas Smith uh Albero was also put on IR short-term IR so they could bring him back if they wanted to in eight weeks they just can't seem to cut ties with aquab they just don't want the aqua Bowman error of trending in the AM to end so he's on IR how again how Roseman you know you get two PL two spots to put people on that ir and he's taking advantage of it and you gotta you got to give him credit for that maneuvering the the roster but the fact that they only kept two tight ends it's kind of shocking now I wonder if that happened because they saw that Jack stall was cut by the Giants I think it was the Giants and they did want to bring Jack stall back this year as that blocking tight end so maybe that's why Jenkins didn't make the roster but we'll see this is the first time I ever realized how different the level us between the guys cut and starting roster yeah I mean it's it's really interesting uh yeah I I as soon as doson was brought in here in the trade Paris Campbell was 100% gone I didn't think he was a lock to make the team even without toson because you can't make the club from the tub and he was hurt all Camp so uh sto may be coming back I I think that might have played a part into it um so that there's a really good chance there weren't many surprises but tight end 2 was a surprise or tight end three was a surprise and there's one other surprise on offense I'll get into in a second uh but wide receivers weren't surprising to me uh at all Aqua was not cut he was put on injured reserves short-term injured reserves so they could bring them back in six to eight weeks um because they just cannot seem to get away I think AJ Jenkins did enough to maybe make the roster but did they really do enough I don't know that's the thing I don't know if EJ Jenkins did do enough to make the r he had some really nice plays and some nice moments but he also missed out on a couple moments so you know it's it was the first surprise but not shocking so to say in my opinion nope nobody uh none wants old man Bradberry well we'll get to defense in a second but Bradberry did make the team obviously why aquab bomman he didn't show anything the even when Dallas scard was hurt he couldn't make it onto the field last year so I don't I don't get the fascination with Alberto uh flee commanders Eagles roster cheating yeah we we we we cheat all the time I love that uh do you guys give Carl Lawson a try probably not Edge upgrade we'll get into that when we get to the defense def no surprises anywhere uh EJ Jenkins what's up Rick uh probably make it to practice squad I agree Johnny Wilson with his size and blocking ability I I agree with that say spot on with your comments here Johnny Wilson if they don't get another tight end can play that third blocking tight end role if he needs to um so there is that aspect of it uh University of Buffalo football stinks who cares on the University of Buffalo uh some of you your EOP Brethren had Ben van summer cut I tried telling them the coaches loved him yeah um Ben van summeran uh could play tight end too um he was lining up as a tight end in 101 drills um but anyway yeah I I was teetering on when B whether bvs was making the roster or not I figured he would I just didn't know if they were going to keep five linebackers not because he didn't earn the spot just because the numbers crunches I think because they went light at tight end because they went light at offensive line which we're going to get to here in a second um gave them the opportunity to keep keep that fifth linebacker interior linebacker um so let's look at the offensive line because I think this is where um one of my biggest surprises not just DJ Jacobs but my biggest surprise was the offensive line so obviously myot Dickerson cam Jurgens Beck and Lane Johnson they starting five I thought Tyler Steen was going to be used for one of those two short-term injured list uh spots I really did um and that would have opened up room to bring in a couple Fred Johnson was a lock they kept Trevor Keegan and Daren Canard they cut Brett to and and I'm really surprised about that let me preface this by saying I don't like Brett to I don't think Brett Toth is a good player but the Eagles seem to like Brett to now Brett Toth may make it to the practice squad possibly and Alli Roseman did say a position like backup center that they're weak at will be addressed today with the waiver wire with the prac the squad Etc but I was kind of shocked that Toth didn't make it I actually had Toth and McMahon Dylan McMahon both making it because I had Tyler Steen going on that puffer short-term IR list so my biggest mistakes on offense were the two off was were on the offens of line and just say cam Jurgens gets hurt you don't have I mean I guess either Keegan or Canard one of them has played center at some point in their career um in college or whatever something happens to cam Jurgens we are um at risk of being very very weak at Center and again T Toth is not a good Center in my opinion but all summer long they were hyping them up all Camp along they hyping them up how much they like them they must have some really high hope that both Toth and McMahon make it through waivers and could be added to their practice squad so that was to me the first big shock yesterday is when I was excited to see TOS name get cut then you see McMahon get cut as well and you're like what is Howie doing there uh Max sharping stinks uh what's up Bruce Bryce Harper how you doing this morning uh you can't use all your short-term IR spots before the season even begins well they use the two you are allowed to use at this point with Bowman and Smith um so that's that let's go Phillies yes big win last night I I addressed it to kick off the show huge win great win great performance from arinola last night um absolutely excellent night for the Phillies last night um so anyway Eagles offense I'm trying to see here um I thought I wrote some notes down here yeah basically just Howie talking about how incomplete the backup center is and the 70 man roster not the 53 man roster um was all he really talked about um with the offensive line I'm trying to ramble through my my notes here and to address that you said earlier about Johnny Wilson playing that tight end um his size is something they really do like him um and then you know there was some weird things in the press conference last night um and one of them was hoe so so they were asked about Johnny Wilson why they kept him and was it about his size why they kept Johnny Wilson and and Nick C piped in and said well we we wish he was a little bit taller and Howie Roseman comes out and breaks out oh he's just referencing skilo over there Howie Roseman a knowing who skilo is is weird to me I don't know why he just doesn't strike me as a skilo fan him referencing I wish I was a little bit taller I wish I was a baller I wish I had a in whatever however the song goes just it's weird to me just like it's weird me actually trying to rap on the show it was really weird uh okay well I will tell you Kwan the story bills have a kid that would go to games go to a community trial in summer he is now that's interesting that's it's like a Vince Pali type story um would have liked to seen the Eagles Take a backup center guard in the draft instead of Cooper dein well I did want C uh Jackson Powers Johnson at that spot it did happen Cooper de Jee will be loved in this city before long Rick so yeah I would have liked it but he over addressed a position that he really really needed to uh did you guys get o line ready what you say we're still it's a work in progress is the key word uh with the offens of line so I mean there's a lot to to digest there again like Howe said it's not complete 12:00 p.m. today we will learn who is staying who is going who's added to the practice squad who's going to be everywhere so we'll see in the next what four hours and tomorrow we'll have a better understanding tomorrow this graphic will be updated I pulled this graphic from EJ Smith um added to this team what the practice squad looks like at Etc um what's going on with Matt Milano who knows uh yeah how we going to fleece someone how always fleeces any as someone at all times all right so let's look at the defense uh first off on the defensive tackle position obviously Jordan and Jalen and Milton were locks Tupelo was pretty much a lock moroa was pretty much a lock but five time five time five time five time five time WCW Champion Thomas Booker T made the roster which I was really glad to see that now if he gets a sack in a game he better damn do a spin a Rooney um if he doesn't it's gonna be a massive missed opportunity so there was that edge Rush no surprises here I had Patrick Johnson making the team I didn't have Booker making the team again a numbers crunch thing but I also had two other offensive lineman and a tight end and that's why um but I do think he deserved it the edges no surprise here I thought jix hunt was also a potential short-term IR type candidate but I guess he is not as banged up as we believe obviously as someone said earlier yes Ben van summeran did make the linebacker group white Dean Bon Trot and summeran um or or Orin Burke did not he was cut which was some some were surprised there um the cornerback room the big surprise was well kind of surprise kind of not surprised was that Eli Ricks was kept we kind of thought that Eli Ricks was going to he was on the roster bubble there but slay cubal key Cooper Rogers Maddox were all making the team uh so Rick's making the team too and keeping that that seventh cornerback was definitely a numbers crunch on some of the other positions on what they kept safety room obviously CJ GJ Reed um made the team they're your starters James Bradbury and Tristan McCollum both were guys that were on roster bubbles McCullum making the team and just the fact that McCullum Booker and who was the other one was it Canard or Keegan one of the offensive linemen where Futures contracts the Eagles and and how he talked about this they really focused on future contracts versus um undrafted free agents and all three future guys did make the roster which is great um Tristan McCullum is a guy that a lot of fans wanted to make this team that liked their liked his game um so there's that and James Bradbery making the team pisses a lot of people off I get it he's not beloved in this city but it is what it is um he's he's an expensive cut to me so we'll see my thing when I look at this roster and say they pick up two guys off the waiver wire I'm thinking in my head who's getting cut out of this group it could be McCollum it could be Bradbury it could be Ricks could be Patrick Johnson or or Booker but just look at this three six and five is 11 10 12 13 I think it's what 23 offense players 3 six n 10 11 12 13 22 offensive players to 28 defensive players or 27 defensive players it's it's kind of really imbalanced the offense versus the defense on this initial 53 man roster and I'm not saying it's a concern to me it's just something that's surprising considering how he is such an offensive minded person that he went so heavy defensively playerwise and light offensively maybe it's because we're so topheavy and as long as people stay healthy you don't need those other guys I don't know uh Milano's injured uh now broke his arm okay gotcha did not know that um Howie and serani and the coaches are getting a bunch of names to try and get absolutely um for sure I shamefully tell people you can't help Club from tub like I like I yeah you you heard it here first right if Milano was not hurt we would have the bills Mafia uh I believe starting linebacker um it's him or Nicholas Maro good luck with Nicholas Maro uh the best ability is availability absolutely absolutely um Bradbury was shop there were rumors of a potential trade almost with the Titans um I don't care what the Titans would have offered I would have taken it probably you still have to take that dead cap hit though if you trade him and that's the problem how he you know trying to keep that cap space as flexible as possible and if you traded him to the Titans even if you got a sixth or seventh round pick you're still eating $15 million in salary cap and how he doesn't want to do that and and honestly is it the worst case scenario keeping James Bradburn it really is it I mean Sydney Jones is still on the uh pup list he ain't going to be back till October uni depth at a position you can't go into the season with two or three safeties on your roster you just can't um so it made sense and he spoke about it Howe and uh what did he say where are my notes on him um James Bradbery he's got a high football IQ he's got great football instincts the transition is tough but his versatility that it gives them um they were very he didn't sound like somebody did I say I have to jump down to the P did I say Sydney Jones oops I was arguing with somebody on Twitter yesterday that's probably why his name's in my mind Sydney Brown is on the pup list I was arguing because someone was like how bad how I think I think I found MADD B's burner account telling me how much trash Hoy Roseman is and for but but I try to remind him for every bad pick there's a good pick but buddy drift it's sdy Jones Sydney Jones by the way was not a bad draft Pi it was a first round talent that was coming off injury it was a highrisk high reward pick I was fine with it I really have no problem with it even to this day um light offense you're the most loaded we are loaded at the top of the offense but if one of your starting offensive lineman go down you got question marks one of your tight ends go down um you got no backup tight end you know it's very um light on kept players that is true that is true kaywan and uh yeah Father Time's catching up to me for sure uh teams will have to choose who they will be light on coverage uh they're going to cover wide receiver Titan run back and quarterback are all weapons we are loaded with weapons and now he addressed it um yesterday how topheavy they are on contracts as well and how some of the decisions to keep younger players and protect them is because you can't have all topheavy guys he talked about the contracts and uh uh uh uh um where was it I took notes on what he had said exactly um I can't find them I thought I wrote it down I don't know anyway he definitely spoke about that a bit yesterday uh Bradberry is top depth uh he G to start however he's not going to start um a lot of guys that are garbage starters are top tier backups uh Phil I feel the Cowboys could challenge us this year but I hope not look I've already said it I think the Cowboys are going to finish third in the division I think it's Eagles one I think it's commanders 2 I think it's commander and cowboys 3 and I know Nick wrong on fs300 said that the Cowboys are gonna be one Washington's gonna be two and the Eagles are gonna be third and missed the playoffs he's just wrong hence his name Nick wrong I feel Howie has been amazing for the most part Howie has had an excellent offseason but you don't win the Super Bowl in the off season the team still has to produce on the field and we will see how that goes uh we are now what nine days away till kickoff in Brazil uh week one so against the Green big Packers we'll see how that goes uh Phil is keeping that roster up so we don't yeah you can't see the eye contact thing do you want me to take the roster down K1 do you want me to take the roster down stop share put me back up and see I'll make an eye contact see there's the eye contact for you uh oh mind depth is scaring me we have the Hoe Quotes coming out today on all social media yeah look it is but again remind you from his post pressor yesterday you know backup center he said is an incomplete position right now and we do not have a 53 man roster we have a 70 man roster and I don't know if there's a GM in the league that knows how to maneuver the roster rules in the NFL better IR short-term IR pup list practice Squad elevated practice squad all that stuff better than hoe Roseman does um it is just what it is I mean ho Roseman is a master at that now I am concerned where my concern is now they cut some guys Toth McMahon most um notably that could play backup center and if you cut a guy and they clear waivers which means 300 other teams did not want those players what does that tell you about those players you would think if if to McMahon clear waivers and they just spent a summer to you know a couple years now I believe working under just statland University what did I tell you about the players wouldn't other teams love and jump up and down to get the opportunity to grab a statland u student in my mind they should they would they're not to me that's a concern if that happens unlikely you don't get stall or another tight end yeah I mean it's not the first time how he's kept just two tight ends out of training camp let me page back through my notes Here I want to just get the right year here on this one umum in 2020 and 2019 how he kept just two tight ends now last year he kept four tight ends to start the year but he also only kept four wide receivers in 2020 he kept seven wide receivers in two in 2019 he kept five wide receivers in two tight ends that was crazy 2019 no wonder we had you know practice squatters with Carson Wentz there um in 2019 I feel the commanders are bad as they don't have a good coach uh Dan Quinn's a good coach he's gonna instill some discipline there that they were lacking um I don't know if he's a great coach he's a great defensive coordinator he's a great defensive mind but I can't say that he's a great coach um or a bad coach um they've got a lot of talented players on offense and defense Bruce but they got a rookie quarterback that I don't see a lot of success coming from everyone's just assuming that Washington and and and Daniels is going to be the next CJ St the Houston Texans from last year lots of talent rookie quarterback rookie coach I don't see it I just think that they're an eight n Win team but that also tells you I only think the Cowboys are an8 n win team the tight end depth reminds me of the part and Kindergarten Cop where kid climbs power line to get up what I haven't seen Kindergarten Cop since like I don't know when so I don't even get that reference uh but it's not it's it's good that the NFL made their owner sell a team to a good owner um yeah I mean look I'm not a Josh Harris fan Bruce I think he's terrible with what he does with the Sixers but he's good for the city and that team he'll get a new stadium there just like is going to get a new stadium for the Sixers eventually he will make the team competitive he might not make him a Super Bowl Contender year in and year out but he'll make them competitive so yeah I mean that's it's a positive for them uh that's true Kwan how many teams have eight really good offensive line how many teams Kwan have five really good offensive line I think that is a fair question twitchers trying to scam viewers uh if the NFL want 18 Game season they will have to increase the number of players game day starters and the practice squad and IR it should be 55 game day 18 practice and six IR with current rules uh if they go to 18 games they 100% will have to do this which is great because it'll create more jobs more roster spots uh more opportunities for people to get their football dream to to come true so yeah uh very very uh what happened where did my mouse go there it is um very very uh likely that that would happen good morning Stevie FES uh great uh Fairway yeah thank you for tuning in the the Fairway last night muchas gracias yeah I'm shocked but again I said it is was EJ Jenkins just one of those overhyped training camp guys I mean what did EJ Jenkins really do he beat out CJ usma sure he beat out Aqua Bowman I could beat out Aqua Bowman so what I mean I was shocked too but was I really I don't think so I feel I feel he his I feel he's is a gimmick coach and a rookie so I feel Dallas will be better but I hope I'm wrong and I hope you're right look again it doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong I still think the Cowboys aren't going to come close to beating the Eagles for the division so whether the Cowboys are second or third it's meaningless to me because I think the NFC East only gets one playoff team we we'll have my full record prediction maybe I'll have that on Friday my NFL record prediction we we'll see is Johnny Wilson basically tight end three yeah I mean how Nick sani's quotes and you know trying to reference sko they love his size and his physicality he could play special teams which is important for your tight end three um I think Johnny Wilson depending on what happens with Jack stall today will be a guy that plays that blocking tight end role for sure uh looked good for Young Buck they may want to get him on they're going to try to get EJ on the the practice squad for sure in my opinion and if he does that means no one else saw what we all saw in him in Camp I mean he made some plays in Camp he made some plays in preseason games but he also had some drops and he also had some you know not so great plays so he had a good camp it just wasn't crazy enough see the thing is nobody won't likes preseason games none of us like preseason games but if you don't have preseason games Manch chatter how are third and fourth stringers going to get practice like game practice how are third and fourth stringers going to get tape on F or or fil like or or or game tape how are third and four stringers going to earn roster spots like I want more joint practices and I agree preseason games suck but the need for preseason games is still there for the third and four string players for the practice squatters Etc there's some guys that made this roster or making the practice squad that won't play a snap of real football now since preseason game three till next year's preseason game they need to stay in game shape it's almost why I kind of want you go with preseason like merge the UFL XFL and NFL and have the UFL be like the minor leagues of the NFL so your third and four stringers get their game tape and their practice on the UFL team that's how it should be but uh NFL is definitely going to 18 games absolutely week we could do it and then of course PHL the Philadelphia division of All City Sports which is supposed to be an alternative but it's just turning into being another div another another another WIP announced yesterday on the Gargano show that John Marx is going to go head-to-head with me at 8 am in the morning and he's gonna have his own morning show did John Marx actually think that he was going to announce he's going to start his Morning Show in two weeks and then next week I'm going to let him come on my morning show and promote his Morning Show is he freaking insane a b PHL is really trying to stack the deck against me first they had to hire Anthony Gargano who goes live towards the end of my show every day now they're bringing in John Marx does it really take John Marx and Anthony Gargano to knock me off as the number one sports YouTube Morning Show in Philadelphia There's other people starting morning shows too the man I will not that name that talks trash behind my more time with his family and he says that the goal now I was listening to the interview or the the the segment between him and Gargano yesterday because I wanted to see and their goal is to go from 6:00 AM to 12 noon between the two of them eventually on ph but what the hell did you really think I was going to let you come on here and promote the competition like seriously there's a h 100 pod casters out there but I'm not going to let you come on and promote a morning show that's going to go head-to-head with me and try to steal my viewers you are nuts for even considering that you come years left on it I get it but John Middleton doesn't mind spending stupid money you cannot have Walker on this team anymore you just can't I saw somebody say to me on Twitter well the Phillies are just waiting till post September 1st to cut him because then no team that picks him up can put him on their playoff roster and the Phillies are worried about tywan Walker on another team's playoff roster that is the biggest dumbest thing I heard L I've heard some dumb [ __ ] including John Marx um over the last couple weeks of doing stuff that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard Jacob was decent midday show until they had Brandon Brooks on other than that it was me I got tired of their Morning Show um yeah they basically just brought in ret like I I was expecting and this is not me trying to say I wish Jacob or phly gave me a job because they would have more money they would have plenty of money and a bigger plat what whatever anyway that's not what I'm saying I I don't want to sound like a bitter person because look I will say before I joined dop I did reach out to some some brands with with big budgets trying to you know you shoot your shot you know you go for the biggest and whatnot and you know I don't want to sound like the the grumpy you know grumpy person or anything like that but there're supposed to be an alternative which is giving the young I talked about this on Jason Lee's podcast two weeks ago when we were talking about Mikey miss being back or Howard esin keeping his job that there's a lot of great young upand comers that have very small roles on radio stations great content creators I can name 20 30 people that deserve jobs but they just keep bringing in the same old grank cranky old people that have been retreaded all over that bounced back and forth from all the different stations they could have been an alternative but they just turned into the same I would love to see the attendance at Citizen Bank Park when when Walker pitches yeah absolutely um I would love to see those numbers someone statistician wise do some work for me for tomorrow I meant when they had Brandon Brooks I I knew what you meant I I I got you I gotta Brandon Brooks is pretty good I I I do like Brandon Brooks um uh it's deflating to the rest of the team when Walker goes out there like yeah if you're Bryce Harper like you know today you're better hit hit for the cycle hit three grand slams because if you if the offense doesn't put up eight runs you ain't winning today zero chance yeah when I was a kid I was a big WIP guy um I've been telling them to Shane half's fantastic Shane half should be a regular feature on a major media Network they're calling God Shane half should be an eagles I mean Shane half can't be a beat reporter let's he live in Tennessee or Nashville or something like that but you know what I'm what I'm getting at Shane have should be part of WP absolutely or one of these sites young up incomer absolutely and I I do give credit I don't know if he's still doing it now because I I it's not in his bio anymore but my man El parero was given a chance to be the producer for the Gargano show for phly he also does Union coverage for them you know give the great up andc comers that been grinding for the last 5 10 years building a reputation a chance let debes be one of these stations you know uh draft experts but no they just keep rehashing John McMullen or McMullen and car and you know whatnot whatever whatever back to the Phillies back to Eagles back to Philadelphia sports what else is there my not say oh back on the the philes you know I want I I meant to mention it yesterday I forgot and then you know he put out a post on his social media account which the translation really didn't really give too too much but whatever I really really want to make sure we're all thinking of Jose Alvarado when he was told when when he was given put on the uh the leave the restricted leave list for the Phillies the other day we just thought maybe it was he didn't want to accept the demotion or or whatnot but based off of his social media post on Instagram yesterday there might be something seriously wrong in Jose Alvarado's personal life and I really truly hope whatever he's going through he gets over it and comes on on the other side even better um Rob Thompson did say last night they do expect or they do hope Alvarado will be back with the Phillies at some point but whatever he was going through might explain some of the struggles he's been going through this year in the last month or so the season and damn straight big out damn straight no need to bring in or or just keep rehashing the same old thing EOP is the future that's right damn freaking straight I'm damn proud to be here big out damn proud anyway Jose Alvarado I I really hope whatever is going on with him and you know gets straightened out in a positive manner in in in a in a proper way I hope Jose Alvarado and his family is okay because Jose Alvarado if he gets right if he takes care of his personal issues and he gets right mentally physically healthy whatever and his family does he is such a crucial part of this Bullpen when he is pitching well and now we got Estes we got Kirk green stom we got we got all these guys get Hoffman getting back on track with our Bullpen even Tanner Burke you know everybody everybody's getting on track then you throw a re refocused Jose alado in there all you need is five six Innings from your bu your starter every single game in the in the in the playoffs and you're set if Jose alado gets right you've got a six deep Bullpen of guys that can go in crunch time when the game is on the line so I I really hope whatever happened there and if you haven't read go it's all over online um you can find pictures of his uh his uh Instagram post from yesterday and it just really reads as a man that has some really really unfortunate things going on in his personal life right now absolutely 100% positive vibes to Jose Alvarado anyway back to the rest of the Phillies best back to the rest of the Eagles let me go through my notes from the Hoy Roseman press conference and and Nick sirani I don't know if anybody watched the Nick serani press and howy Roseman post cut down a press conference yesterday and I tried I I miss the one look I don't I don't want this to come out the wrong way there's one positive that came out of the covid era in sports and that was the press conferences all being done remotely on screens is you could hear the questions from the reporters being asked there was a question yesterday that was asked at about halfway through about the 10-minute Mark and Nick serani and how Roseman looked at each other both laughed Howie Roseman did this put his hand over his microphone said something to Nick serani and then Nick serani just rambled on with some cliche thing that didn't answer any question because who knew what he was talking about I don't know but if you watch it's something that I think goes under the radar it's a tough day for 9 some players across the NFL who got cut yesterday obviously tough day but it's a super super tough day for coaches and GMS if you looked at hoe and Nick serani up there on the podium yesterday they just looked like they had gone through a war unshaven dis discrep you know I mean Howe Rose or Nick year he sipping coffee like it was going out of style like he hadn't slept in three days hoe Roseman hadn't shaved in four days I I feel for the general manager and coach of a team that they're with these players for so long and they got to literally Crush these people's dreams it's tough on them as well so that was one thing I wanted to address from yesterday uncertainty next 24 hours backup center we covered that um there there was a point where he talked about you know using he was asked about using the IR to to protect Smith and protect Aqua Bowman and he said and and just T he had a smile a grin on his face but he said well they're injured players and it's like you could just tell he's lying straight through his teeth um but I loved that about him um he was excited about the second day talked about McCullum how he Tristan McCullum uh how he flashed consistent in practice flash to in preseason game consistent in practice he's athletic and a great special teams player I love that he did speak a lot and I loved it talking about the youth priority on this team because of how topheavy they are so I love that um Nolan Smith he made sure to talk about how Nolan Smith is still developing we've talked a lot about Nolan Smith over the last couple weeks on this on this show um and they and they didn't hesitate to talk about how Nolan Smith still isn't a finished product so I thought that was interesting who was the Stanford guy they were talking about yesterday I think I mentioned he was a practice Squire last year couldn't catch on to that um and what happened to Joe D from the Ravens did I miss something there I didn't get a chance to look that up this morning uh both look tired and they will continue to be tired because they have to go through those cut lists like this is a tough time for the Eagles and the Packers more so than any other team because they gota get through C Cuts they got practice today at three their first practice um for at least like four or five days since actually probably the preseason game on Saturday uh today they practice at 3 pm they got to go through the Waiver Wires and the cuts and the practice squad then they gotta practice then they got to get on a plane in a couple days to go to Brazil so the Eagles and Packers more so than any other team in the NFL are going to be white for a for a significant period of time and howy Roseman looked disheveled like he hadn't slept in a while but Nick serani literally looked like he was beyond exhausted and I hope the start of the season goes well because you know he's going to be under a lot of pressure early and he's going to be tired very quickly this season so I I really uh do feel for that right there um anyway that that's some of the notes I had written down I I love to listen to press conferences and take notes some of my notes I can't read um so that's my problem somebody somebody told me there's a a a type of a tablet or an app for a tablet or maybe my phone that I could just scribble notes on and it'll translate them into words so like I can just and then it'll just type it up for me I got to figure figure that one out because that would help because I take notes in this notebook all the time and I can't read 90% of what I write because I'm trying to listen I'm trying to freehand right things and all that kind of stuff but I think I got all the notes that I was interested in covering I I mean we got four or five minutes in the show today um but I did for some reason I don't even remember how it started but I got into a massive argument with people about Carson went yesterday on Twitter and had to go about I guess about the fact that Carson Wentz in 2019 I always forget about this stat threw for over 4,000 yards and he's the only quarterback in the history of the NFL to throw for over 4,000 yards without a 500 yard receiver on the roster um I think we forget how good Carson Wentz could have been and there's people out there and we battled I battled people with Carson Wentz talk yesterday and I battled people with hoe Roseman talk yesterday now there's still some stream hate for those guys in Eagles Nation I don't get it because both those guys were so integral all Eagles Nation won it for 50 years was their first Super Bowl or 40 years whatever they woned that first Super Bowl forever Hoy Roseman built the team Carson Wentz got us there Nick FES got us off the Finish Line got us over the Finish Line one guy was trying to tell me that Carson Wentz had zero impact on us winning the superball that the team was so good that Nick FES who he's like Nick FES stinks Nick FES was able to get us a Super Bowl I was like I I don't know how to even argue with some of these people sometimes it drives me nuts but it is what it is anyway what are we gonna talk about tomorrow and I gotta text the guy um in about an hour and double check because he had to wait to get his uh what time he at what times he was going to be at the Eagles Nova Care complex tomorrow um and stuff like that the media schedule he was waiting on so I will text him today we may have Ed cratz from Sports Illustrated on tomorrow talking about this Eagles roster cut down day whatever Waiver Wires they add today I we'll talk if if he's free tomorrow he will be on tomorrow at about 8:30 uh so we'll get his opinion but we've got a couple things I want to talk about this as we wrap up this week and get started next week with next week will be Eagles Packers preview my record preview we'll talk X's and O's we're back in the regular season mode next week previewing reviewing games and stuff like that but we'll we'll continue keeping the Eagles talk into it and stuff like that but anyway we'll talk about that but you know it was a stupid comment made but it got me thinking I think it was a WIP a comment are the Eagles closer to making the Super Bowl or what is more likely the Eagles making the Super Bowl or the Eagles missing the playoffs and it really got me thinking so I don't I don't know if they're a locked to make the Super Bowl are they closer to make making the super row or missing the Playoffs I don't know think it's an interesting question I think it's something that we got to discuss I think I will bring it into the conversation tomorrow um and we'll and we'll see how that goes we'll obviously talk about whatever disaster
