STARTS NOW. GOOD EVENING. THANKS FOR JOINING US. HOWARD HAS THE NIGHT OFF RECENT SHAKEUPS IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE HAS SOME WONDERING ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE RAINBOW WARRIORS FOOTBALL PROGRAM. >> THEY SAY THE SETBACKS OF REBUILDING ALOHA STADIUM ARE TO BLAME GYM BUNNIES. A FOLLOWS UP. >> ALOHA STADIUM HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE 2021. WITH A REGIONAL PLANS TO HAVE A NEW STADIUM BUILT BY 2023. THAT TIMELINE CAME AND WENT WITH ADDITIONAL FALL STARTS AND FUMBLES TO FOLLOW THE CONDEMNED FACILITY STILL STANDS. AND THE PROPOSAL FOR THE NEW ALOHA STADIUM ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT STILL HASN'T BEEN FINALIZED. I SAT DOWN WITH HAWAII FOOTBALL ANALYST RICH MIANO WHO SAYS IT'S HURTING THE RAINBOW WARRIORS FOOTBALL PROGRAM. AND SO I THINK IT HAS. >> LONG IMMEDIATE EFFECTS. BUT IT ALSO HAS LONG-TERM EFFECTS IN TERMS OF HAWAII STAYING AS A DIVISION, ONE FOOTBALL PROGRAM AND WILL THE MOUNTAIN WEST CONTINUE TO WANT HAWAII AS A MEMBER. >> NOW THE PAC 12 IS POACHING. 4 OF THE TOP TEAMS IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST MIANO SAYS THE FUTURE OF THE PROGRAM HANGS IN THE BALANCE. >> I THINK NOT HAVING A STADIUM NOT HAVING A PERFORMANCE CENTER, NOT HAVING A LEGACY HALL, NOT HAVING A NUTRITIONAL CENTER NOT HAVING DIVISION ONE FACILITIES AND THEN THE ICING ON THE CAKE IS NOT HAVING A STADIUM. I THINK THAT HAS AFFECTED THIS PROGRAM IN TERMS OF RECRUITING IN TERMS OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES IN TERMS OF VISION, OUR LEADERSHIP IN TERMS OF THE FUTURE OF THIS PROGRAM, IT'S NOT JUST FOOTBALL. >> THE GOOD NEWS, ACCORDING TO THE ALOHA STADIUM AUTHORITY CHAIR IS THAT THEY ARE MOVING FORWARD WITH THE CURRENT PROPOSAL. >> THE PROPOSAL FOR THE PROJECT WAS SUBMITTED IN LATE JULY WITH FINAL DESIGNS DO BY 2025 AND THE NEW STADIUM SCHEDULED TO OPEN IN SUMMER 2028, WE FULLY ANTICIPATE THAT PROPOSAL WILL BE WILL ABLE TO ACCEPT IT AS BEING COMPLIANT. AND BECAUSE OF THAT, WE ARE ALREADY IN THE PROCESS HAVING SOME OF THE, YOU KNOW, DEEPER CONVERSATIONS WITH A LOT DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS. >> SO I SEE A LITTLE BIT AHEAD OF THE GAME. THIS STATE IS PITCHING IN SEVERAL 100 MILLION DOLLARS WITH THE ALOHA HOLE OF A DEVELOPMHOT PARTNERS COVERING ALL OTHER COSTS. UNLIKE THE REAL, WHICH IS LITTLE A BIT MORE MONEY PIT. >> THIS IS A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP THAT BIG ALL IN 350 MILLION DOLLARS, NOT A DIME. MORE. >> SO STEP CAR DELIVERIES THAT THE 600 TO 700 MILLION DOLLARS FEE THAT SAW HIM.
