What's Up With The Bears WRs? | Fantasy Football Injuries Week 1

Intro Ready Set welcome to the dynasty nerds fantasy football podcast where we discuss Dynasty strategy rankings and all things NFL to get ready to geek out on fantasy football with your host Rich Dodson and welcome to the din nerds fantasy football podcast injury Edition I'm rich Dodson he's Matt O'Hara hey hey man how you doing it's good it's our very first first ever injury show um where we normally cover these injuries when we record on Tuesdays nights and the show comes out on Wednesdays and everybody's always like man I wish we could somehow get these injuries uh earlier so like if I want to make waiver wire moves because sometimes there's waiver wire moves you want to make and sometimes there's not and uh we decided hey we'll just go do a whole another podcast and get this out on Mondays and that way it also frees up time for our Tuesday and Wednesday or for everybody listening Wednesday Thursday shows as well yeah no I I think this is going to be a nice little format um you know quick shows quick hitters uh hopefully they're short because that means there aren't a lot of injuries and and you know there's not there's not a lot of decimation across everyone's rosters but uh who knows some weeks are going to be longer than others I guess it's week one and we got a lot of guys to talk about Matt so um and guess what everybody it doesn't get better nope usually we'll doing this every single week the only good thing news here is is we're not talking about any acl's or Achilles or anything like that so nobody's lost for the year I think the longest timeline we're going to get here is a possible maybe up to five to six weeks I don't even think it's gonna be that long for a play couple of other other CLS but no acl's so correct so we should be good and everything looks pretty good here um shout out to a non-injury guy my boy JK Dobbins who on my bold prediction show I prict to be a top 18 running back along with garan uh I am now like after akres came back and looked good in the preseason and how good Dobbins looked yesterday I will no longer now call an Achilles injury the death uh death injury of a running back no I mean I think I think that has come a long way you know acl's used to be a death Neil and even Patel attendons I I still think are pretty tricky to come back from um but all those all those surgeries have made advancements mostly due to these kind of injuries to high-profile thetes that need to kind of get rehab done to them and and they they started kind of tweaking that surgery I feel like there's some some definite rehab um improvements as well so those guys are starting to be able to come back and and be more explosive than I think than they were beforehand yeah so it's good news uh looks like JK could possibly be the guy there over Gus Edwards moving forward signs uh after yesterday all point that Jordan Love's MCL sprain and Green Bay offense impact way but this isn't about returns this is about good buys so let's go ahead and talk about one of the most devastating uh injuries that turned out to be not as bad as we uh initially thought and that's the Jordan love of the Green Bay Packers if you play in superflex leagues or if you're in a one QB and this is your main quarterback uh he springed his MCL now it turns out luckily um it is just MCL sprain but it also turn it's just like a grade one possible grade two MCL sprain which is a grade one is like barely a tear like it's more like it was like stretch barely tear and then grade two like a slight tear in there so for what everything said three to four weeks what I'm hearing is uh he's really hoping to come back in about four weeks with a uh knee brace on versus that versus that uh division rival game versus the Minnesota Vikings so there's a very good chance that we could see uh Jordan love back here in about three weeks possibly four weeks with a brace on his knee um slinging the ball because we definitely need him to support that awesome debut of Jaden Reed oh no doubt about man and and that is really good news because there was some slow-mo video that looked like literally something was kind of stretched and then popped so I I was expecting much worse I think news than that obviously I'm not a doctor at all but um I know things like that don't tend to be good just based off the stuff I've seen on the internets before so I think we di bit when you see that pop right there in that LE like that's where you face like you're like oh my God that is patella you know like is is that it because I mean you're right that's probably the newest like devastating injury hard to come back from those patella injuries um but possibly just one of those like patella uh what's the word for it that it's called like a sub Su suction sublion yeah that sounds sexy yeah you can sublux me if you want to I mean not you but I mean I'll pass I'm gonna pass either my wife are concade so so for the time being um Jord Jordan love obviously his direct backup is is Malik Willis right and didn't look great very limited like two or three snaps or whatever he took there at the end we go back to last year Matt he does he didn't look good he had three starts last year yeah and boy was it not pretty and the the other guy there is is who Sean um Shawn Manion is that correct I think so I know I know Diana rusina reached put a tweet out that they did Reach Out to uh Ryan tanah Hill well I mean I think that would you know he said he's waiting basically for the perfect opportunity I'm not sure if I'm Ryan tanhill that's my perfect opportunity because I know he's coming back in three or four weeks um if I'm him I'm probably waiting for somebody to go down for a season long type of injury I would wait for a flacko esque um you know midseason injury to kind of swoop in if I was tany Hill um but I guess we'll see you know they might be raing practice squads at this point um trying to try to figure out who they can kind of snag and bring up um but I think you know they even then though is it worth it for three weeks I mean who who knows um sha oh Sean um Sean Clifford sorry is the guy that they have on their practice squad that they can Elevate big red SE it's not great I mean either either option I think um from a fantasy perspective this this has got to lower some expectations I think across the board for the Green Bay offense for the next kind of three weeks and um at least that's the way I see it Jordan Reed had a fantastic debut but I I couldn't imagine him kind of being the factor that he was in week one with Malik Willis throwing in the ball how about you rich yeah it's definitely goingon to you know again Malik Willis isn't a very accurate quarterback right when you go back to his starts when he was a rookie when he had his starts I mean he he had a 51% accuracy rate uh 25 of 49 and he didn't throw any touchdowns but he did have three interceptions which is which is never good so yeah I mean Romeo dubs and jayen REE were the number one receivers here with the most targets out there so I think this really affects Romeo dubs pretty drastically I am somewhat curious about Jaden Reed though because like you know when we mentioned when I was talking about Jaden Reed as like a huge buy and why I loved him so much like describ as a poor man Debo Samuel and how they like to like manufacture Touches for him and how even use him out of the uh backfield we saw that on Friday night he got a carry out of the backfield took it 33 yards ran for touchdown so I think you're higher higher likely to see that they manufacture Touches for Jaden Reed maybe you get some more stuff line close to the line of scrimmage some stuff out the back field but yeah yeah I mean it's not going to be good for for anybody uh going forward you should really kind of like hinder your expectations here I would still play uh jayen Reed but I would be real hesitant to play a guy like Rome dubs you think they would up the uh Run game here we'll see if marshan Lloyd's can be activated this week or not but Jacobs who who didn't look overly explosive behind the line of scrimmage I I saw a little bit more bursts when he got past that line and I'm not going to really like hold against them everybody just want to go out there and dooo butter on Josh Jacobs because Kansas City's front line is just really good right like they're a tough team to run on anyways like they're a really good defense so it's yeah it's gonna be Josh Jacobs maybe some dump us off there but like I would expect a lot of manufactur Touches for jayen Reed I think they should be a little bit hesitant trying to push the ball downfield with his accuracy is isues and interception issues I would kind of take a step back here and wait for Jordan love and I definitely would not recommend picking up I know he offers some Russian ability Le Willis um but I he's not something I'm even like trying to get into my listen if you're if you're in the need of Stark Malik Willis like you're in a bad shape anyways and you should just try and lose and get those draft picks it's a good way to tank without tanking I think you're talking about the the Philadelphia line not the Kansas City I think you got those those two first games mixed up there I I completely got them mixed up I was thinking of uh Derrick Henry getting smashed against Kansas City it's but even then the Philadelphia defensive line with Jaylen Carter they're they're just as good as well that's what that was gonna be my point so I mean I just wanted to at least amend that to make sure it was the right line you're talking about but either way correct tough tough line to get it um get going on against the ground I I personally think that um the ground game is going to need to be leaned on a little bit more hopefully Marshon Lloyd um who had been dealing with a hamstering issue and was sidelined for week one is activated I would imagine they would probably try to do that um just considering kind of what they're going to be dealing with with a new quarterback so I mean who knows what that amounts to who knows if Josh Jacobs week one performance was you know more to the defensive line or kind of knocking the rust off since everyone's a little rusty week one nowadays um for the regular season so you know I'm holding off judgment on most guys um in week ones and twos um and sometimes even week three depending on how much action they saw in the preseason um so we'll we'll see it's uh it's going to be a tough situation here for the next few weeks in Green Bay in my opinion but I think there will be people that still shine obviously you know uh you mentioned Jaden Reed as a guy that they'll they'll manufacture touch touches with and I could see that happening so the other guys a little bit more dependent on a Malik Willis and and we could see them fade a bit yeah uh who's next on the list here so so next on the list is Josh Allen you Josh Allen's non-throwing hand injury know he came up with a left non thrwing hand injury says it's no big deal but I guess it was wrapped pretty bad so um we have to kind of wait and see on this one I would imagine he plays but unless it's broken which would be an issue you know for for a longer time frame his direct back backup is Mitch trabis nothing to get excited about here um all around hopefully the Josh non-throwing hand issue isn't an issue I just wanted to at least say yeah you know mention it on the show and and just so people knew that it was at least a possibility so keep an eye on that one we haven't heard any news on it yet um so all reports are no fractures that I've seen so far no fractures so good to go well that yeah that's very good you would imagine that Imaging is pretty easy and I've had a fractured hand you can kind of feel it moving and crunching around and you Kenneth Walker's abdomen injury concerns could diagnose that one pretty quickly without without Imaging so that that's good news okay next on the list we have kenth Walker running back at the Seattle Seahawks uh abdomen uh injury so this is somewhat concern me because this is not new to Kenneth Walker I mean he's got Sports Tous surgery he's had groin injuries oblique injuries I mean this is somebody who has a history of injuries at the in the NFL and for a player that a lot of people are going to rely on I mean he looked fantastic um for the SE the Seahawks this week he he was used to heavily it was clearly like something I always thought like hey like when they drafted Zack Sharon people were worried about Kenneth Walker I was like dude I'm not worried at all because Kenneth Walker's just clearly better than Zack shernay we saw this week early on I mean yeah kenth Walker had 20 carries Zack sharet had eight Kenneth Walker had 103 yards Zack sharnet had 12 makes sense to me uh listen I Kenneth Walker I think is the superior back as far as the injuries are concerned the abdomen injury as as labeled by coaches nowadays is a broad term it's really hard to nail down a lot of times it can be one of those Sports hernas um and that that just kind of labeling as an abdomen because it's in that region you know why not it could be an oblique I mean you know what I mean it could be a lot of different things um we will see uh hopefully it's hopefully it's just an oblique thing and and not the groin uh I mean the sports hernia which would require surgery and Mis time hopefully it's just an oblique strain where he can maybe miss a game and be it could be yeah I mean so there had you know unfortunately this is one of those West Coast teams and their injury stuff has a tendency to leak out a little bit later in the day and and as of right now we haven't heard anything on this well I mean there is he did tell reporters upon exent of the game that he was he was good to go that he was good so at that from that report I I have not a lot of worry here um said the only concern here is like he has a like literally the only concern is like he has a history of abdomen oblique you know her is so that's concerned I feel really good about him leaving the stadium and telling the beat reporters that he's good to go so fingers crossed fingers crossed and obviously if he's out you just fire up shanet um if you have him and and feel pretty decent about that right they want to run the ball there he's not going to be he's not going to have the upside I don't think is of a Kenneth Walker um but he'll still get some volume so I think I think fire him up I mean only other person even used out of the back F out that was Lisa Chanel so yeah it would definitely be the Zack Shanay show well they have they have Kenny McIntosh on that on that roster and you know he made it out of Camp he was a six round draft pick last year with a different regime so I think that's a good sign for him and he's got some explosion so you know if if Kenneth Walker's out I don't know that Zack shanet is the guy that's going to replicate that explosion but but Macintosh might be able to so they might use him in some packages anyway Miami Dolphins running back situation okay next on the list is Devon Miami running backs Ian should we just Clump these guys as a hole or no yeah we can talk about them together Devon hn and and rahee moart um for Anan it was a a left hamstring and and back slashback um and for mostard it was a left shoulder and possible with a possible AC joint issue um really we don't have any definitive news on either one of these guys but either way you know if one or both of them are out it's it's Jaylen right that you know who was a healthy inactive in week one who you're going to be firing up in in your lineups this week yeah so that's just something to monitor we have no news on there I mean when hn got hit it looked like he was kind of um bent backwards a little bit so it was like his left leg kind of extended out a little bit when he got hit and he kind of limped off the field there the the AC joint with moard who was completely ineffective anyways against against that front uh for Jacksonville so but you're right it all it all equals one common denominator and that is Jaylen Wright and yeah it's be interesting to see because Miami used I mean they had both running backs on the field for over 50% of their snaps they had both running backs on the field yeah and you know I think the head coach there talked about that right in the offseason having both guys on the field and maybe even three at times when kind of referencing Jaylen right we didn't see that come to fruition in week one obviously as I mentioned Wright was inactive for week one but I would expect if one of these guys are dinged or even if they're not dinged but not 100% healthy we're going to see jayen Wright active next week one way or the other getting some carries um just because if they're both kind of dinged I would think that if you have one healthy explosive back you're going to want to get him in the lineup for sure all right next guy on DJ Chark and the Charges Offense the list here is your guy who thought was going to be sneaky uh but boy was he sneaky he was outwhere for the game he snuck out of the lineup he snuck out he's not out for the year he's he's on the uh he's on IR he's return yeah so he he'll miss four weeks to got a hip issue and and there go my hopes of him making any sort of noise and making wide receiver three numbers on the year because he's goingon to miss the next four games who knows maybe from week five on he'll make wide receiver three numbers we'll see I don't know I know but mat that kind of that got that game kind of played out EX exactly how we talked or at least I talked about right like I I think we all talked about it but I remember specifically saying yeah you know they you know they have Josh Palmer there and it's gonna be DJ shark and like somebody's like oh you even mentioned Quinton Johnson but we're like we all agreed like hey lad makoni is gonna be the guy working on the slot he'll be the number one targeted guy he he went in an end zone and saw the most Targets on the team he got seven caught five of those for 39 yards and a touchdown Quinn Johnson came in actually made a couple catches uh he had five targets and Josh Palmer was the other guy that we mentioned who's been in the system longer a it's funny he got the least amount of targets amongst the receivers with with four U brought in two of 15 yards I say it was very ineffective as well 15 I thought in my brain it was 12 um but that's just me downplaying Palmer like I always do so that's fine so you know I think I think it's gonna do a couple things obviously this is gonna help Quinton Johnson kind of develop a little bit more see what you have in all of you Quinton Johnson uh draft people that drafted Quinton Johnson that's a good news for you because it's going to kind of push him up a little bit to actually see what he has uh I I expect lad M's targets to probably uptick just slightly here or even St the same right around seven to 10 Target we mentioned a wide receiver W the number one target offense usually sees about an average eight targets per game L makoni saw seven so maybe this going get even uh JK doin's a little bit more involved in a passing game he was targeted three times call all three didn't do much he didn't have much Lanes or only had four yards but I mean outside of that you know it's going to be Quinton Johnson Josh Palmer maybe Hayden Hurst you get a little bit excited about there who saw almost as many targets as Josh Palmer but was way more effective he had two catches for 33 yards compared to two for 15 with Josh Palmer so maybe you know Hayden Hurst if he's on your waiver wire could be a nice sneaky pick up to get into uh to hold on to to see how this plays out in case Quinton Johnson falters but to me it just gives me more excited for all my lad makoni shares and potentially an uptick for JK Dobbins as well no doubt man I like I like both those guys as well um I don't love the Quinton Johnston as a player but I think it is a great opportunity to kind of see what you have in him and if you have him on your roster and you drafted him last year you know you hope to see a little bit of development in these next few weeks um but we'll see and it made sense Matt too for like him having the second most targets at five like if you if it went the way you thought like quit GJ shark like what do we thought we thought GJ shark was to come in kind of take the top off the defense and kind of stretch the field maybe it's like the Z out there or possibly the X and once he goes down you know that's Quinton Johnson's role like you know DJ shark going down would not affect lad M's role like they play two completely different positions it's just about how comfortable do you it's more about like hey now where all those targets are going to go but how comfortable do you feel about allocating your target so it comes down to like yeah obviously Quinton Johnson would fall into that role of DJ shark but it's really going to come down to Quinn Johnson can to be consistent because otherwise there going to allocate those targets that should have gone on that uh Puka Nacua's knee injury and Rams receiving options game plan script to somebody else and that's where it comes down to L whether it could be JK Dobbins or a guy like Hayden Hurst totally man yep all right so next up we got um a a kind of a big one pukaa um he goes down with a knee there's still tests pending he he got dinged up returned to the game but then basically wasn't able to go and got carded off to the locker room um last night so other guys stepped up you know Tyler uh Tyler Johnson had a big play Demarcus Robinson is obviously directly behind him kind of in the pecking order and Jordan Whittingham um actually had a nice little run near the goal line I think that was negated by by a um penalty but they got him more involved as well and I could see him as a big physical guy kind of taking on some of um pukan Nika's role listen I didn't love Jordan um coming out of Texas I thought he was a bit plotting and didn't have great change of Direction skills but they the Rams seem to find these guys roles and they like guys that can do things kind of physical after the catch and I think Jordan uh whitning Whittingham has that kind of in him so he might be able to fill a little bit of the shoes if we were to see puka nikua go down but obviously it's it's Cooper Cup's targets that are going to go through the roof I think he had like 22 or something ridiculous last night um so he's going to be the main beneficiary I mean tied his career high in 14 receptions saw 21 21 targets and then after that I mean yeah you mentioned a guy like uh wiam but uh Tyler Johnson came in and Demarcus Robinson came in there and they both saw seven targets um they're both right around the same I mean honestly like IID bet on Demarcus Robinson if you look at the stat line Tyler Johnson five catches 79 yards compared to DeMarcus Robin 442 but Tyler Johnson had that big 63 yard play so that was most if you take out those 63 yards he had four for what is it 16 4 for 16 compared to Demarcus Robinson 4 for 42 the player I'm really interested in here Matt and somebody who I've kind of mentioned on the podcast uh whether it be ner her the free one was like Kobe Parkinson the tight end who I was real intrigued about the 25-year old and and sure enough he came in outside of you know those guys I mean he had five targets caught four of them for 47 yards was like a real good safety net for uh Matt Stafford so that's a very interesting player here like that's that's the one who intrigues me most on a team that's goingon to throw the football but like obviously Matt Safford has a way he wants to go and it's gon to be Cooper cup so like how does that work out secondary I I I don't know I think you know in today's day NFL I'm always looking at those guys that that can get over the middle of the field right with all that cover too so Kobe Parkinson kind of intrigues me here and puka noua we'll find out how it's going to be with him but I mean the fact they had that knee injury before and he falls on his knee real hard and like reagg gravat it same knee yep yeah and then tries to come back in and then it really goes out has to get a cart back out too like he's probably going to miss some time here uh for a little while I would imagine I would imagine this is a three four maybe more week type of thing because that's how much he missed in the preseason and they rushed him back for the start of the Season he just reag rated it you know what I mean that we'll see if he just reag gravate it or he reinjured it you know what I mean if it's just a re-aggravation maybe it's less time and he's able to kind of get over that hump and be okay in a few weeks but um who knows man this is you know this is another one of those uh West Coast teams that we won't get a lot of information on till later on so just keep an eye on that um if you're out there and you have puka on your team uh that news should be coming down the pipeline here soon and and this is all stuff you know late injury news that comes out on Monday night and Tuesday we're we're gonna re kind of hash some of this stuff um on the show real quickly at the beginning of our normal show as well um in case we any new development and new developing news and yeah I mean but again this show is kind of like just mention names that check whether you want to make a trade or check your waiver wire for right like so again the the line here is Tyler Johnson Tyler Johnson's gonna be on 95% of people listening waiver wire he's worth a stash like if you have this is why you have these bottom L guys like you bring him in just to see if you kind of develop it at number two if he doesn't it's an easy cut right if Demarcus Robinson somehow is available you pick him up you know again we're talking about short here windows but like you four weeks is a long time that's 33% 25% of your season you know I mean like he's it's in an explosive offense as well like he he can definitely have a role for you and win you some games so definitely worth the stash on either one of those guys the the biggest thing about that map and I know we're doing injury show here but was pretty crazy was like man like we talked about like Kyon Williams just being the benefactor of like just getting all the carries essentially and that's why he's number one and like my biggest concern was like okay they've drafted Blake corm he's pretty like close to the same guy um this is going to eat into Kyan Williams so like this This concerns me no no KY Williams got all the carries pretty much I mean every single one Ronnie Rivers got two uh I mean Kyon wasn't like overly effective against that Detroit Detroit uh offensive defensive line but like man he got all the carries again Blake corm did get a single carry they gave Ronnie Rivers Two Carries and they're like hey hey Blake take a step back we're gonna give Cooper cup two carries and you can watch what he does so I thought that was interesting but you're right explosive offenses right we we talked about it's like we want pieces of Kyle Shan's offense we want Shawn mcvey's offense we want people tied to Pat Mahomes this is it too they can't just Target Cooper cup 21 targets every game can they can they they might be able to if PUK is not there at all I mean yeah he was at least in and out of the lineup in this one oh man coer cups got me puka in my pants over here because of am of targets again it's going to be a fantasy wide receiver one overall again there's not many balls he catches all right so moving on to the next one we have Jordan Addison he got another ankle injury this is opposite ankle to the the ankle injury that he was getting over the preseason uh Jordan Addison's ankle injury and Vikings passing game there's no time [ __ ] is that dude so now yeah right you limping with both legs equally right so it's like like for Gump as a out there so this this has got to be tough one obviously his direct backup is jayen Naylor uh there's no one else really of note on that team so this is going to speak I mean I think spell even more kind of targets getting funnel to um Justin Jefferson who had a okay first game if they weren't winning by so much I think he would have done a lot better but they kind of just rolled right over the Giants without much um resistance at all so there was no need to kind of do more dude I didn't didn't know how bad it was until I saw that stat this morning that uh since he signed his $140 million deal Daniel Jones he's thrown two interceptions two touchdowns to his teammates and three touchdowns to the defenses that is it he's thrown two touchdowns I mean listen he has had a lot to work with but goodness gracious many games how many games has he won since then I think it's one I'm pretty sure it's one I know you only need a finger or two at the most probably one sounds right dude I I thought DeShaun Watson's contract was bad no oh man I'm I'm slowly trying to find my way to like backtrack and step back and get off the uh the board of elected here at the Daniel J Jones fan club um thank God I I [ __ ] as president a while ago and I I I I signed up as secretary but even then like I went to like fudge the C over here so I get booted off The Board because I was the treasure for a while I'm not even I'm not even on the board anymore dude I've been gone for a year so good for you um what's interesting about Jordan the Jordan Addison Matt because you're right it's like you got Jaylen Naylor he had one target caught one ball 21 yards yeah it was a touchdown but a guy that that kind of intrigues me here Matt is a guy that you mentioned um as a sneaky running back play in your bold predictions that's Tai Chandler when you out when you when you look away from the receivers um which is going to be you know Jordan Addis and Jaylen Naylor it was Ty Chandler and Johnny M the tight end who you can kind of qualify as a receiver you saw the second most targets with three and Ty Chandler CAU all three of them he was effective three for 25 yards longest of 10 so Ty Chandler to me this makes it like even more intriguing for somebody that you liked as a sneaky guy just because at the running back position maybe this is a guy that could kind of move over to the slot but like right now everything's kind of like panning out somewhat for the Tai Chandler news like he saw more Targets in the passing game there uh for for the Minnesota Vikings over a guy like Aaron Jones Aaron Jones saw um how many targets did Aaron Jones had Aaron Aaron Jones had two he and and Chandler had three yes and Aaron Jones had 14 carries to to Tai Chandler's um eight obviously you know Chandler didn't get as much going with only 17 yards rushing but you know history would will tell you that he's a four and a half yards per carry guy that was just a bad afternoon for him so he should be able to make more hay than he did in in week one he came away with seven you know 7.2 points hopefully no one was starting him in week one but I think you know once the bi-weeks come around and his yards per carry kind of go back up to where his Norm would be I think you're going to be able to use him and expect to get at least some double digits out of him yeah if I if I'm an Aaron Jones owner I'm definitely gonna get him but even if I'm real thin at running back Matt do you think it's worth like I do I think I feel like throwing a third round pick at the Tai Chandler owner like if you're a contender obviously so you're talking like a late third round pick go into that team hey man I know you got Ty Chandler if you have Aaron Jones is a simple excuse hey I'm just looking to like you know back up my running back here yeah handcuff this over here um if not like can we go ahead and like get a deal done for a third I feel like most people definitely if they Wen like a contender it' be pretty easy to take that third round pick for Tai Chandler do you think that's an overpay or if you're a contender you think that's pretty fair value to get somebody that you could either put in your Flex or God forbid any of your running backs go down put in there and hope like with those nine to 10 points no I think I think that's a a great price point for him if you can get him for a third you feel pretty good if you're a contender and if you're on the other the other uh end of the coin you feel good getting basically a part-time guy um that needs an injury ahead of him to to have True Value um you feel pretty good getting a third round draft pick for him I think he'll have a little bit of Standalone value in a week in and week out value uh uh week in and week out uh basis but his true value will be if Aaron Jones Goes Down And that's and that's where he would be super valuable so do you think it's better just to hold off a little bit because and and and like not make that offer now just kind of see how like your team plays out I mean not necessarily because I it's a third round draft piic these things are to me their currency to get guys like this they're yeah because you know if if the injury happens his that value goes way up that owner is asking now for a second or maybe two seconds depending on how deep into the season is it is so if you give a third now you miss out on all that price inflation when an injury does occur yeah and that's how I treat my third and fourths too because like a fourth doesn't move the needle a lot of times a third like people see a third and ins the NFL draft Capital like sneaks in mind like oh yeah I'm getting a third which again you get some sneaky guys in the third right like of any draft uh out there you get a Dylan lob lob in in the third round so there's definitely value in third round picks but when you're a championship caliber you got remember you are hoping that pick is like pick 36 35 34 the rookie draft class gets real real thin at that point it it usually does all right so moving on because we got uh five or six more of these so let's try to get to Tee Higgins hamstring injury update yeah let's I think the rest are gonna be let's go quick yeah t igin obviously missed week one with the hamstring injury it's not really a new injury everyone knows it already so I just wanted to mention it um yeah his direct backup Rich you want to take a shot at that dude's name I can never pronounce it right andreo shivas nailed it perfect so he's the he's the he's the guy that ran kind of in place of T Higgins had some had okay stats nothing crazy um I think you know you can expect okay stats while thins is gone depending on how bad this hamstring is but it's gonna be Jamar chase that keeps getting funnel more targets as he kind of gets re acclimated um to the pace of the game and and and just to the number of snaps that he needs to be that number one guy yeah I mean he he came out he came out of Camp he won that battle as a number three guy there uh for the Banger oh sorry I lost my S for the Bengals and he did see the second most targets outside of Jamar Chase it's a number two out there wasn't overly efficient like you said he caught three for 26 um I'm still somewhat intrigued about Mike aiki he had four targets you know as the number one in there he actually had a touchdown a real nice touchdown catch in the back corner and they got yeah it got called back by the weakest call of like I think it was like it was such it was a call that was completely unnecessary nothing to do with the touchdown but he had a really nice touch good touchdown in the back corner that got no it it was it was the ball moved when he hit the ground oh think different play you must have been thinking of a different one yeah he was he was like going out of bounds he made a fantastic catch both feet in bounds and then as he was kind of tumbling to the ground the ball juggled a little bit as he was out like hitting out of bounds there it still looked like a touchdown to me I know he lost a little bit of control but it didn't really look like it hit the ground like he still I know you got to keep control all the time but like that's the thing if he wasn't Landing out of bounds I think it would have been a touchdown but because it never did hit the ground but he was juggling it and then he was out of bounds so it's um it wasn't even a big move like it was the ball wasn't moving anything crazy but it did move so what are you gonna trying think of what touchdown got called back now that got negated there's a couple hance's touchdown got City went in I was like oh he's 100% in but they ran in from the one yard line so it was nice but somebody else's touchdown got got called back and I was like oh that's a really weak call on a touchdown anyways remember it wasn't M Kiki so yeah it's going to be a chevis there uh for Cincy until he gets back hope that gets going but like again I'm still kind of in on this potential mik Kiki uh going forward a little M aiki action saw more targets than just as many as Zach Moss no no doubt and I think the thing is you know he's in a good offense they they started using the tight end at the end of last year um quite a bit and hopefully they keep that kind of going um it was kind of weird they went to giki on that play he didn't get the touchdown he did his stupid gritty dance that was terrible they reversed itri and and then they threw it to Hudson and he fumbled like on the one the very next play I'm like d yeah he want to go turn around like he turned around and brought that arm over which is always a mistake and as soon as he brought that arm arm over fumble other team gets it uh the Patriots got it and that's how you lose to a terrible terrible football team like that did unfortunately for me I'm in a betting league and I put a lot uh on the Cincinnati Bengals and I even like moved the line a little bit so it was like they like it wasn't as bad uh and I yeah I still lost that one thanks a lot Joe burrow yeah with a real Slim Shady please stand up yeah please get rid of that ridiculous blonde hair oh go back to your normal blonde hair like come on yeah yeah dude you're already a blonde hair dude what's going on here all this nonsense sense like you play Silly games you win silly prizes like what's going on you I should have known Rome Odunze and Keenan Allen injury concerns day one when he showed off that haircut like the things are going bad in Cincinnati things are just going bad in Joe's head if he's got to do weird all right so moving on this is kind of another twofer um Romo dun and Keenan Allen both kind of coming up a little lame here um the MRI on Romo dun came up like literally right before this show so we don't have enough information on that one yet uh to even know what the issue is but it is his knee so we know it's a knee and they're getting an MRI uh Keenan Allen was an unknown injury as well but I think Rich you had a little bit more information on that uh yeah so the Keenan Allen looks like it could possibly be what did I have here in the notes for Keenan Allen um they said he limped off the field and he was favoring his right leg when he did so so because I know he was going was on a a pass he's going uh running down the field there towards the end zone so what's funny about him is like he has a history even like last year of like those hamstring strains so like mhm we know that once you get old like that those hamstring injuries just always are like they linger there they're always there well speaking as an older person than Keenan Allen I know hamstrings can get really tight when you're older and he was he did come out of shape right he he or not out of shape but he came in heavier than normal 230 pounds I don't know that he was out of shape but um he was bigger than normal which you know who knows can put extra stress on things so uh we'll have to wait both these guys obviously are kind of directly related to each other um DJ Moore will be the huge beneficiary of both or one of these guys is missing as far as getting more targets maybe Cole KT will actually get involved instead of uh Gerald Everett kind of outpacing him in in week one also so that that was a little bit of a weird I think thing that popped up in in in the first week of the Season that that was announced in the preseason Matt yeah they they said like Gerald Evert was playing over Cole KT like it was leard stinks like I you know there's things that you hear and you just don't believe especially in preseason like all right well well we'll see when the regular season comes if that's true and it was in week one so remember DJ Moore got a little banged up in that game too I mean his shoulder like he he banged up his shoulder a little bit too I mean he played the whole game um but he definitely looked like he got banged up a little bit there so listen Kaya Williams didn't look accurate Rome gets hurt out of nowhere he's going to MRI and I watched that play where he limped out the field I watched it five times in slow motion before the show like we I was waiting for you cuz I saw this popped up and then I I looked at the play and dude I watched it in slow motion I couldn't really see but if anything it's just knee for sure I mean Rome Rome or Keenan romad dun yeah okay Roman dun injury so everything right now is kind of up in the air in Chicago like it's like what's DeAndre Swift didn't look good Caleb Williams didn't look good and all the injuries got banged up and now romad Dunes is getting MRI I'm sure we're going to talk about on the podcast in some level none of those rookie quarterbacks look great I mean J jayen Daniels rushed for a bunch of of of yardage but yep you know none of them looked all all particularly great so I don't think Jane Daniel threw the ball field downfield once like past 10 yards like did he run the ball fantastically we'll talk about it on the podcast on Tuesday yeah this is supposed to be a David Njoku's high ankle sprain short injury show bro I know David and joku is the next one up he has what is believed to be highle sprain he according to Kevin stansky that came out today that he is likely weak to week so this that kind of lines up with a high ankle sprain um kind of prognosis I I don't know four weeks something like that he left in a boot yeah he left in a boot uh historically the the tight ends come back a little bit quicker from high ankle Springs and receivers too so yeah we'll see I mean David andoku is a physical specimen literally burned his face off and came back the next uh day to play football so uh hopefully for him it's a higher end we'll see him in about like three to four weeks but yeah high angle spray six weeks Noak you know Jordan Akens will be the guy to SL slide in that role there which he was uh used in the second half of that game so he'll be the tight end used there but with the three receiver sets that they usually they gon to run I expect more of like Elijah Moore uh to be involved more so but they do do use tight end sansy likes the tight end Akens was the only other tight end on the roster correct correct yeah yeah so they'll they'll likely be elevating somebody they got some guys on the on the the practice squad I would Jake Ferguson's MCL sprain and Cowboys tight end situation expect to see one of those guys kind of bumped up and he was targeted so then the last guy here Jake Ferguson he has an MCL sprain just like Jordan loves so it could have been worse but it's ml MCL sprain he's in the same timeline as uh Jordan love we don't know what great it is his came back really good for Jordan love so we're in call Ferguson four to six weeks no there's been conflicting reports um on this one so the one said and they're both from ESPN sources um Jeremy fer said he could miss some time and then literally like an hour later um Todd Archer came out and said he could play in week two so this one's kind of really up in the air so let's let's wait to see exactly how bad this one is so it sounds like it's probably on the milder side and maybe he can even play uh right through the pain yeah I mean if he wears a brace uh you know I would expect him and Jordan love to come back in a brace to get you guys in there sooner because a lot of times those like light MCL sprains a lot of those are just pain tolerance um more than anything so I don't expect him to play week two at all I mean if anything it's a light spring you probably want to get that two weeks just to heal up so you don't have to worry about again and keep aggravating it because they are I mean Brandon Cooks look good out there C lamb look like the monster that he that he is but you still need Jake Ferguson definitely down there in the Red Zone definitely but they got the they have the draft pick from last year um the second round draft Luke Schoonmaker Luke Schoonmaker and they got a guy that was a converted wide receiver I think and the other guy um span Ford or what was his name something like that yeah right right perfect well just look him up on the dep CH somewhere I can't remember his name off the top of my head and I can't click there fast enough Brevin span Ford is his name and I think he was a converted wide receiver type of guy so yeah I'll bet 36 in my arm here that he's doesn't come relevant whatsoever so oh no it's gonna be scoon maker if if Ferguson goes down for any extended period of time woo good thing I don't have swimmer's arm then we'll be back on Wednesday with more dynasty Fantasy Football Talk this is our first ever uh injury show we'll see how they all progress but this is a gist of it we thought it'd be a short show uh I tend to talk too much it's 40 something minutes you know what next week we're gonna really pair it down Rich you and I are gonna squeeze this thing into 15 minutes 20 20 minutes tops 30 minutes tops 30 minutes tops all right well I'll see you next time buddy adios adios ah
