A LOT OF FAMILIES CANNOT USE IT. TYLER: IVF TREATMENTS ARE EXPENSIVE AND TYPICALLY NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE. THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES ESTIMATES THE COST PER PATIENT FOR ONE CYCLE OF TREATMENT IS $20,000. ON AVERAGE IT TAKES TWO TO THREE CYCLES TO BE SUCCESSFUL RAISING OUT OF POCKET COSTS. 19 STATES HAVE SOME SORT OF INSURANCE MANDATE WHEN IT COMES TO FERTILITY BUT IT RANGES FOR WHO QUALIFIES AND FOR HOW MANY TREATMENTS LEAVING DECISIONS UP TO THE STATES WHEN IT COMES TO REPRODUCTIVE CARE HAS STARTED TO BECOME A POLITICAL LIABILITY FOR REPUBLICANS AND IT IS SOMETHING IT APPEARS TRUMP IS TRYING TO COUNTER WITH THIS POLICY. SINCE THE SUPREME COURT AND OF THE COMES ADDITIONAL RIGHT TO AN ABORTION, DEMOCRATS HAVE SOUGHT TO SUGGEST BANDS IN THESE 14 STATES THAT COULD LEAD TO FURTHER RESTRICTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO FERTILITY TREATMENTS. HERE WAS A VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TIM WALZ ON CNN EARLIER THIS WEEK. >> THE CONTRAST COULD NOT BE CLEARER BETWEEN WHAT WE ARE RUNNING AGAINST, THE VICE PRESIDENT'S MISSION HAS BEEN CLEAR. I THINK MOST AMERICANS GET IT YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH THAT. I DON'T THINK THEY ARE CUTTING HAIRS ON IVF OR IUI. WHAT THEY ARE CUTTING HAIRS ON IS AN ABORTION BAN AND BEING ABLE TO DENY FAMILIES A CHANCE TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL CHILD. TYLER:TYLER: THE SENATE FAILED TO ADVANCE A BILL EARLIER THIS YEAR WHICH WOULD HAVE PROTECTED ACCESS TO IVF NATIONWIDE. JD VANCE VOTED AGAINST IT. IT IS AN ISSUE THAT IMPACTS MANY AMERICANS. MOST RECENT GOVERNMENT DATA SHOWS MORE THAN 400,000 IVF CYCLES NOW OCCUR ANNUALLY IN THE U.S. BASED ON THESE NUMBERS, TRUMP'S PLAN WOULD COST NEARLY $8 BILLION PER YEAR. KAILEY: WE HAVE ABOUT 30 SECONDS LEFT. WHILE WE ARE LOOKING AT NUMBERS, LATEST NUMBERS IN BLOOMBERG AND MORNING COUNSEL SWING STATE POLLING SUGGESTS THIS IS AN ISSUE RESONATING WITH BATTLEGROUND VOTERS. TYLER: LATEST POLLING SHOWS 53% OF REGISTERED GROUND VOTERS LIST THIS AS A TOP PARTY WHEN THEY GO TO THE BALLOT BOX AND IN NOVEMBER AND WHEN IT COMES TO WHO THEY TRUST,, HALEY HARRISON IS LEADING PRESIDENT TRUMP BY 20 PERCENTAGE POINTS.
