Will McDonald Takes Us Through His Spin Move Sack

here with Will McDonald will you finally got that sack tonight I know it's pre-season but you displayed your classic spin move what did you see on that play I just already knew I was about to do it came out it came down came out I was like hey this might be my last one let we go ahead go crazy say boom bo bo bo went inside got the sack gave him a little man went right out went to the sideline got hype with my teammates went crazy what teammate of yours helped make that play happen they all did I told him I said I was on uh I was on the field with my boy I was like hey I got here bro I got inside give me right give me right I'm talking about get down Bo inside move S easy went and got hyp with my boys went to the sideline went crazy what do you think of the overall defensive performance you guys help them to only field goals right up until the end when they just got that last touchdown but what did you think of it overall today we played good you know leave out no regrets got to do what we got to do you know as a team and uh you know just hold it down for the defense you know we got uh something to display every Sunday you know obviously it's a preseason but you know we got to put that on film uh so other teams can see that so know as long as we go crazy as the def no we should be able to get them backed up win games what's that next thing you want to accomplish in your next game against the Giants get more sacks that's my main goal get more sacks uh you know and then when the season come get more more sacks so you know that's that's my mindset for right now and just making a lot of production and getting hype with my teammates awesome appreciate the time appreciate y Andrew you feel like you accomplished tonight what you needed to um yeah for sure I think we had a lot of good things tonight offense wise I think we had a lot of penalties that we need to clean up and obviously looking back on that first uh fourth and one you know I just missed an easy layup those got to be 10 out of 10 uh so you know just looking over it overall pretty good we got a w but yeah definitely some things to clean up with the penalties and some layups so well I like the fact you picked out your mistake because there were plenty of things that you did well that we should talk about a third down scramble that was big a fourth down conversion on that drive before halftime so many times it seemed where you were under pressure you wonder how a young quarterback's going to handle it you always say does he keep his eyes down field and you always seem to when you go back and watch the tape do you think you're going to see that in yourself yeah absolutely I think uh one of my scrambles I miss an opportunity to to let the ball go downfield and and convert but in said you know I ran it and you know just the coach is talking to me you know I don't need to be taking those hits either so third and 12 they're not expecting me to run for 12 yards but yeah I think um that's always something you can improve on is getting out of the pocket you know Aaron talks about it a lot he's kind of a master of it and where to put your eyes and and how to see the scramble drills so yeah keep improving on it and I think we did some good things tonight as a team and yeah and you mentioned Aaron Rogers being in a quarterback room with him being in practice with him spending a training camp with a guy like that has meant what for you uh it's a blessing you know I've watched him since I was I don't know four years old I guess he's getting pretty old now but uh he's a great dude he's he's a he's a very helpful teammate and he roots for us big time and you know we root for him too so it's been good even that drive before halftime means what you know just from a confidence boost when you are able to manage a drive like that uh as a quarterback I I was told it was 18 plays I think um almost nine minutes almost nine minutes yeah that's that's good right there that's uh going back to the Wyoming days of you know tough-nosed football but yeah it's really good I thought that was a good closer for me just kind of how the game started you know missing that layup and not being able to convert a lot of plays and yeah just to finish the half uh my last drive with that was really good uh missed a touchdown I was a split second late to to Zach on that corner Ball but overall you know ending that shows that you know we can operate and we can move the ball down field so well congrats on a game well played thank you appreciate you here was zier Barnes zier what did you think of today's defensive performance yeah you know we came out snap locked in um obviously it got some yards but at the end of the day we were able to get the job done especially on the sudden change um we knew what we had to do and we stepped on the field and um Kos to all the guys that stepped on the field and play tonight what do you think about the linebacker room and the depth within it yeah you know we have we have great leaders up in front with Quincy and CJ and jamen um all they do is just pour into us and um every day we have a standard and we just try to reach that standard every day and if it's not up to it then we just got to take a look at honestly in the film room and at the end of the day if we guys be honest with ourselves cuz we want to be the best in the league and if we are then that mission is successful you know and that sometimes we fall short and that's when we got to get back in the room and be better how different is this time of year for you compared to last year another year in the scheme more comfortable yeah definitely more comfortable I'm a lot of lot of work in the offseason with the coaches in there with like o and nicolini and his staff and obviously gting me Rudy and just diving into the Playbook understanding my job so I can play faster out there and I just feel that when I go out there is just being more comfortable within myself within my scheme and more confident and playing fast like I used to what's that next step for you Giants are on the clock last preseason game next week what's that next step that you want to try and secure before the regular season starts yeah you know just stay consistent within my process you know um I just been having a saying for myself at the same time tomorrow so like tomorrow just doing the same thing and focusing on that moment because whenever that moment comes of New York Giants all I can do take care of is right now so just stacking days trusting the process and loving to grind about what I was able to Showcase today you know it's trying to improve for next week what did you see on that 63 yard return 63 okay uh you know I just saw a green grass uh you know my coach been preaching you know cut back cut back cut back and you know I just trusted him trusted my teammates trusted the blocking and I just saw it open up it's a crowded Jets room so you're trying to kind of make a name for yourself how have you been able to do that not just in the return game but through everything that you've been picking up from your coaches and your teammates yeah you know like you say deep in The Corner Room uh and returning room you know we got Gibson back there too awesome returner uh but you know just taking heed to other my my teammates uh DJ Reed MC sauce you know just taking heat to everybody listening to them and the coaching you know and just trying to get better every day do you like the new return rules I love it I love it you know it's uh basic it kind of easier well not I wouldn't say easier but it just gives us more opportunity you know uh to return and yeah I I love the new rule yeah now how special was tonight to be able to do this in front of a lot of family you said was here because this is your home state how special was that it was awesome you know uh still haven't got back to my phone yet so you know I'm sure it's they've been blowing me
