hi I'm Chris Burman ahead on ESPN he was expected to be EMT Smith's understudy last year but injury forced Marcel Shimp into a starting rooll and he responded we'll see if he's ready for more in this one Philadelphia Eagles Green Bay Packers now the ESPN blimp is sailing through the night air overhead and we are getting set down here on the ground for this evening's football game at my side my cohort Peter o'keef Peter our game features one of the best wide outs in the game unquestionably Dan he's one of those players who can change the whole complexion of a game okay we'll keep our eye on him as the game progresses but first the coin toss [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] the ref gets the signal and we're set number 17 kicks it off to begin the game number 14 feels the opening kickoff at the 11 sto at the 23 number 14 made a mediocre kick a little more mediocre with a decent run back there the Eagles offense will start this drive at their own 23 yd line number 88 goes in motion number 26 picks up a yard on the play and that will bring up second down 26 didn't get very far on that last BL and he even had the help us some blocking I guess the defense had their number he's got such a vice like grip Peter it's got to be hard to break out of his grasp KN when you're one of the ccle runers absolutely number 26 gets the call again and gains about three yards third down third down three wide outs in the [Applause] game intercepted down at the 32 58 knows he doesn't have a shot at it unless he jumps for it and man he timed it perfectly to give his receivers a few tips about midair reception boy that was a heads up Play To Come Away with his first interception of the game yeah you got to love D like that well D we got an empty Back Field Five receivers and the defense is in their dive let's watch number 10 gets all of his arm into this pass and it's bobbled and dropped incomplete number 13 number 13 looked like he had a solid catch there and yet somehow he found a way to drop it that would have been a big play and a big first down Peter they just don't sink up good call maybe next time it'll work number 12 takes his first Carry of the game and Rambles for about five number 21 with the tackle third down two wide outs on the [Applause] field number 10 throws a bullet to the flat number 94 brought down the ball carrier before the markers there was some gain there but not enough for the first oh you got ball at the 23 number 12 goes right up the middle and converts the fourth down what a fantastic play number 12 stayed with his blockers on that last one and it paid off big ton you know Dan it's always good to have a wing man or two Peter are you as surprised as I am that they went for it there I completely expected them to kick the field goal and take the lead oh so did I I don't care how much you believe in your offense you can't pass up an opportunity to take the lead got real lucky there number 10 lets it go down the right side and it's off incomplete second down 10 yd to [Applause] go breaks a tackle chase at the four it'll be first and goal number 10 the Hest be tackled on this play Dan that D simply can't get a good grip on it oh he spun so fast they couldn't get their hands around it [Applause] te number 10 lobs it to the left sideline and it's not reeled in incomplete number 24 closed in from the zone and forced the incompletion that had potential for some yards Peter but the defense was on top of it and shut it down good denial there second down coming up this pass will fall harmlessly to the ground and it's incomplete third down with two tight ends to the right ball at the four yd line number 12 gets the hand off and finds a seam he's in for the touchdown this is a nice run here and when you watch the replay Dan check out his field Vision great job a finding space that's the first time he's seen the end zone and you know it was going to happen sooner or later oh he expects to have something under that TD stat at the end of every game now the extra point and it's good there's the signal and we're ready number 17 rocket this one deep number 14 decides to take it out of the end zone B down at the 20 number 14 out out close to the 20 on that one so his decision to take it out of the end zone didn't really pay off but it didn't really hurt him either the Eagles were intercepted last time out we'll see what happens here will'll start at their own 20 yd line number six goes in motion number 88 catches the bullet out left and he's looking for room finally popped out of Bounds at the 44 number 88 goes Hollywood here with a Nifty move after the catch nice got to love a guy who not only can make those moves but can get big yards off him too a nice run after making the grab and that's a big plus coming from your tight end especially for him he's not known for making those big cops like [Applause] that chip kcks up about two and that brings up second down number 29 with the [Applause] tackle number 52 number 52 that's a sack in the back field the quarterback had no go on this one let's watch yep the D shut the offense down on that play they couldn't do anything nice job eliminating any forward progress on that play that will bring up a third and long third down and four wide outs in the game number one rifles it out left side and it falls incomplete number five that one come right to him back there you have to catch those passes baby third and long they have a chance but it's incomplete those are the situations where you want someone to step up and make a play but no one did and it will now be fourth down number 10 gets the ball and punts it away number 29 gets it off the bounce at the [Applause] five the Packers had an effective first drive and we'll see if they can keep it up they'll start at their own 6yd line [Applause] number 12 picks up a yard on the play and that brings up second down second down with the tight end right ball at the Packer seven yd [Applause] line brought down and that will be a [Applause] safety number 98 really capitalizes on some Wishy R offense here to get the safety oh you're backed up like that you do not let yourself get caught that is a morale killer number 19 kicking off for the Packers number 19 kicks this one away number 14 gets it at the 20 30 tackled at the 36 the Eagles have had some trouble moving the ball recently we'll see what they do on this drive as they start at their 36 yd line number 26 get the toss and gets past the line tackled at the 44 Carri second down just a single receiver on the [Applause] field number 26 will get the carry on second down and picks up a couple number 44 just planted the ball carrier in the turf short of the markers but the only thing that's going to grow though is that these were around they hold pretty firm there and they've got to do it again on Third and short number 26 will get stopped at the line and they will be just shy of the markers fourth down number seven was a Onan Wrecking Crew back there he powered into the back field and made the tackle they come up with the big play and on Third and short they forc the fourth down yeah they even caused a loss of yardage what a time to come up big number 11 fa catches it at the 16 the Packers stalled early last drive and we'll have to wait and see what happens here they'll start at their own 17 yd line number 12 carries it off the toss and Rambles for about five with the tackle check go number 10 rifles this one hard over the middle and the receptions made at the 40 number 10 makes a risky pass here and completes it that took gut check it out oh perfect pass and it had to be accurate to get in there between the two Defenders a beautiful pickup Peter everyone on the offense is happy about that play definitely great call by the offensive coordinator and it will be a first down no good incomplete with the [Music] [Applause] deflection second down with a split Back Field ball at the Packers 46 yd [Applause] line number 93 back the sack number 93 Nails the offense with a huge loss watch how he zeros in on the target ouch third and 20 ball at the Packers 36 yd [Music] line number 153 patches it the Packers take an early timeout which may come back to ham later in the game the the [Applause] number 10 really puts some arm behind this one and it's caught for the [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] score number 10 get this one past the secondary quite easily I think the safeties were out of position on that one Dan now that kind of accuracy is hard to cover Dan he knew where he wanted the ball to go and that's where it went he'll get the touchdown and he does it in style beautiful Play here's the point after and it's [Music] good and that'll do it for quarter number one the Packers enjoying a lead 14-2 [Applause]
