College Football Week 0 Betting Preview | Odds, Picks, Predictions

Introduction all right and welcome back to the benting pros college football show this the program we'll take you around the nation each week to ensure you're making the best out of the college football season here from a sports betting perspective today we'll reexamine the odds and make some picks for the week zero slate I'm your host Seth Wilcock and today I'm joined by our resident I'm ready let's go we got uh game day going to Ireland there might be some weather there might be some weather in Hawaii as well like um you know some it's it's only four games usually we get seven or eight there's more to pick from so it is a shorter slate maybe I'm a little less excited than last year but I'm still it doesn't matter Man games that count are happening this weekend and I'm stoked and Georgia Tech as well bogs you predicted on Tuesday that this line would continue to move down and it has Florida State went from being about an 11 and 1 Half Point favorite down to 10 and 1 12 point favorite here you preached patience on the line but we're taking the over early at 55 a half as well uh according to bet MGM here a lot of the sharp money is coming on in on Georgia Tech does that change your mindset are you still full steam ahead here on Florida State capturing the value as the week progresses and that line drops yeah I think I'm still on the Florida state side and I think it's just uh honestly to me it is the difference in the roster strength right I just think Florida state is such a better team I know they're replacing a lot and I'm even you know uh in my best in my win total show I picked against Florida State I do think uh that they won't hit nine and a half so I think there there probably three losses in the schedule but not this one um this is a weird game so I understand the smart money being in uh on you know the underdog because why wouldn't it be it's a weird game there could be weather it's a lot of travel um this is an experienced Georgia Tech group coming back um Florida state is new with a lot of transfers at a lot of positions but I think really the the big difference in this game to me is the Florida State defensive line against hannes King the the quarterback for Georgia Tech he's just not that great Under Pressure I think we're going to see a lot of pressure I think it's going to lead to costly mistakes for GT and I think Florida State wins this game kind of going away so I'm sing the Florida State Side looking at some Trends here bogs Florida state is 14 and six against the spread in the Mike norvale era on the road or at neutral site so those would back you up um Georgia Tech though actually 12 and three in the Brent key era era as an underdog here so a lot of mixed signals kind of going around the internet right now we're seeing it out there bogs is staying stay saying stay the course here and back the Florida state seminal overseas uh let's move on to Montana State and new Mexico here the Montana State vs. New Mexico clash between the FCS Powerhouse Montana State and the FBS fodder that is New Mexico bogs you once again we're on the right side of the line movement here this line opened closer to 7 and a half crep up to nine by Monday it's ballooned all the way up to 11 in favor of the Bobcats is that too big now because the only thing for for me looking at some of these Trends here is an FCS team is only be FBS team four times last season so with that being said is 11 too big of a number to back uh we're getting there I don't know if that's too big yet uh and this is by the way is the biggest point spread uh apparently for an FCS team in favor of an FBS team ever so and this is because Montana State comes in they've replaced a lot from last season but they're still ranked in the coaches pole fourth in FCS so this is one of the FCS best versus one of the FBS worst which is why even in a road game you're seeing Montana State being favored um I like brono menen Hall but there's just not a lot of talent at New Mexico and I think Montana state is going to score I mean last season um they were um second in most in points per game in the FCS they were first in yards per play last season Montana state was so uh I think they have the good thing rolling at Montana State I'm going to stick with them I think the interesting thing here is there is a home field advantage for New Mexico but how they is it really because kids are just getting back to school now I'm not even sure if classes have started there for the semester so will we even see a pack house have you watched a bunch of New Mexico at all CU I haven't and I've been around much longer than you but I tell you what I was watching a couple years ago and they they had like a freshman on the camera too because he had no idea where to move it no idea where to go I'm getting this local feed there's a spot on the camera too that they haven't fixed like it's just you know there's going to be maybe 10,000 people at that stadium and that's that might may be being pretty favorable so right uh it's going to be fairly empty I think Montana State rolls in this one all right Bush League stuff bogs is saying over there they're facing Nevada a 2 and10 team from last season they're tearing it down they're rebuilding it here under Jeff Cho uh and we actually on the wrong side of this one I'd say bogs has since shrunk from a 27 A2 Point favorite down to a 25 Point favorite you were already pretty high uh on SMU here so do you have the stones to back Preston Stone and the boys um on on this line here bogs yeah I mean this is I don't like the total in this game because I just don't know how many points Nevada is going to score if any right I think this could be this honestly could be a shut out and this is a great tone Setter we're in the ACC now we drum out uh a small little school like Nevada we look dominant doing it uh I I think it's what we're going to see from SMU in this game so um yeah I like that this game line is shrinking in favor of SMU I know it's a big line a lot of people don't like it I I I'll say you know the total again probably the under because I don't know about NADA but I'm laying those points I think this could be a 353 a 3510 you know it it could be it could be a massive beat down so I think that 25 points is pretty safe so I'm going to lay the points and take SMU another favorite usually common logic does tell us to bet the favorite early in the week so I was kind of surprised to see this type of movement box do you expect this number to keep moving down or do you think 25 is probably the best value uh we're going to get on SMU and these Mustangs here no I think it's I I I think it's too big a line for a team at home I think that's what the public is seeing and saying look it's the first game Jeff Cho is a different coach this team is going to be better and I expect them to be better as well I just SMU is bringing back so much on defense and Nevada was so bad on offense last year it's such a major mismatch not even to mention uh smu's offense with a guy like Preston Stone who's one of the best QBs in the country right so with that offense and in particular that defense against nada I just see this as a absolute drubbing by the Mustangs all Delaware vs. Hawai’i right let's round it out here with Hawaii where the Rainbow Warriors will battle the Delaware State Hornets this a Delaware State team they couldn't do much right last season 1 and 10 they've now since missed their flight because of a bus snafu on the way to JFK Airport uh they've been seen making Tick Tock dances in the hallway of their hotel on their layover um they're having to go through some mental gymnastics just to get to Honolulu here it does that make LAN 39 points on Hawaii the right move here bogs oh man I don't know if I ever want to like lay that many points on Hawaii winning a game but like we said with uh Montana State vers New Mexico right you have one of the best in the FCS versus one of the worst in the FBS it's a tale of two halves here we have the one of the worst in the FBS in Hawaii versus one of the worst in the FCS but it's such a big difference and they're coming you know this isn't going from LA to Hawaii this is going from Delaware to Hawaii and you missed a flight already to go here there might be some weather as well um I I I guess if you want to bet Delaware State I guess the thing that would move you towards that way is uh Chang saying they're not going to show a lot in this game they're going to be very vanilla they have UCLA coming in next week right so they want to save their Firepower and not really show a lot of their uh offense against Delaware State because they're not going to need it but I don't think that really matters I think they're going to win this game going away anyway and um you know this team was they had five wins last season a game away from B eligibility this could be a tone Setter game for you moving forward in the season to kind of boost your confidence as well if you're Hawaii so I think they're going to take this time to step on on the heads of Delaware State and really try to make a statement here and look kind of scary so I think this is a Hawaii drubbing again the total I don't want to mess with because I don't know if Delaware State scores at all and if we are being vanilla does that mean we're vanilla enough to pull our starters when we're up 35 zip and that's it you know it's a bunch of backups after that running the ball and stuff so the total I won't touch but I like Hawaii and laying the point Point even with this massive amount of points I don't really like it and I won't be betting it but I'll pick it here I would pick Hawaii for sure okay so Tren tread with caution here is what bogs is kind of telling us he's leaning that way he's not necessarily going to have Hawaii on his betting card perhaps here but still swaying that way if you guys want
