Asian and Pacific cultures before we begin the performances we must keep in mind the struggles for justice freedom and human dignity that continue to unfold across the globe Although our program today celebrates the vibrant diversities of our community we stand in solidarity with everyone who faces oppression and persecution for their ethnic or cultural identity We Stand Together to erase xenophobia racism sexism and general intolerance of others United in our common Humanity we reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive and peaceful world finally our heartfelt thanks go out to the incredibly talented performers who have poured countless hours into perfecting their crafts we also extend our sincere appreciation to the pctvs administration Mr myello Mr Garcia Miss Basco for their invaluable support and guidance finally thank you to the race advisers Mr Diaz Miss kisis as well as Miss Cil Dr lauli Mr Mora Miss Watson and our spectacular production crew from the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal to the mangr forest of Bangladesh to the olive trees of the Middle East and finally Mayon Volcano of the Philippines here is the 2024 pctvs Asian-American Pacific Islander fore [Music] for e e so our performance is a traditional Philipino dance which origin originated from the tinkling bird which um basically you take bamboo sticks you clap them together and you have people dancing on top of them more about the song that I'm doing the myth that it's based on is about two lovers who reunite um after death since they were separated when they were human and the theme that I really portray with this is really the unite um the unity between the two loversa is a middle eastern Levant folk dance which represents a lot of resilience and perseverance for Palestinian people um it's normally performed at joyous events like weddings and other events to show um culture of the Palestinian people and what we stand for growing up and getting closer to my family and my culture itself it allowed me to be proud of who I am as a Filipino and made me want to showcase the talents that many Filipinos all around our school and the community have I can feel like I'm giving a sense of I'm giving like my own culture and presenting it to everybody else I'm able to to Showcase my culture by showing the different types of moves that are Incorporated in DEA and kind of show how that relates to who we are as Palestinian people now that we've seen all these beautiful traditional clothes from all over Asia for our next performances we travel to Korea with the music and dance for of Kpop K-pop started in the 1990s and has been influenced by genres of R&B pop electropop to name a few Korean K-pop music has taken the World by storm through their artist Charming personalities intricate choreography and aesthetic Concepts help us welcome our K-pop groups no idea world love so extra us to drama your cute jeans OMG and DM Nation [Music] [Music] no matter what I
