Netflix's inventing Anna hooked audiences with its dramatization of the outrageous true story of Anna Deli a faux German ays who scammed New York's Elite at the end of episode 8 we see medical records from Cedar Sinai Medical Center regarding her mental health being sent to journalist Vivian Kent the show tells us these documents were mailed by Vadim Anna's father but does this make sense it seems improbable that either Anna or the hospital would send these sensitive records to her father all the way to Germany Vivian herself had difficulty finding badim sokin when she went to a small German Town near cologne called Duran remember that getting admitted to the hospital and to a rehab facility later was part of anad Del's ploy to avoid deportation and buy more time to stay in the US again Anna's father sending these mental health records to Vivian simply doesn't add up is this a plot hole or just another one of Anna's cons the more plausible explanation is that it was Anna herself who sent the documents to viven disguising them as being sent by her father Anna delve has shown time and again that she's a master at controlling the narrative by sending those documents she could continue to manipulate Vivien making her feel sorry for Anna while simultaneously creating more drama around her story throughout the series Anna toys with viven's emotions often making her feel like she's on the brink of a major Revelation this Dynamic could explain why viven could be so easily convinced that the documents came from Anna's father by playing on vivien's desire to uncover the truth and redeem her career Anna could have easily manipulated her into believing the documents were genuine further ins snaring her in the Web of Lies before we go here's a quick tidbit the Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Passages Malibu where Anna was admitted and later arrested are real institutions known for treating celebrities and high-profile individuals Cedar Sinai in particular is often associated with the rich and famous in Los Angeles making it a fitting location for Anna's hospitalization for her supposed overdose Passages Malibu is one of the most expensive rehab centers in the world adding to The Narrative of Anna trying to maintain her High Society image even in moments of Crisis what do you think of the medical record supposedly coming from Anna's father was this a slip up in the writing or could this have been another one of Anna Del's scams orchestrated from behind the scenes it certainly wouldn't be out of character whether a plot flaw or an intentional nod to Anna's manipulative prowess this moment from inventing Anna keeps us all guessing and maybe that's exactly what Anna and The showrunners Wanted let us know what you think in the comments don't forget to like And subscribe for more deep dives into your favorite shows and movements see you in our next episode
