well firstly Gus congratulations on your goal but the performance wasn't all about that goal that was a tough game this afternoon wasn't it yeah I think that's one of the hardest games of football I've played in a long time um I think the Barnet game we gave it our Ro and such a quick turnaround and I think playing a top of top opposition like buing it on Saturday we kind of felt it today and I I certainly felt I felt it's most legy I've ever been on on a football pitch um but just delighted to try and get something from that game and give the fans something a cheer and come away of a point at least looked good for the first five minutes you took the lead and things were looking swimming really weren't they and you just couldn't press on in that first half despite you bombing up and down that right wing yeah it just seems to be a little case of ours at the moment we can't really just put put our foot on the throat and finish games or go and get that second game a second goal sorry and we seem to kind of start the game well and and get a goal ahead but never really kind of capitalize on a on a good start and that's something we need to improve on for sure going through an into the season but you're having a big influence coming in from that right hand side not only getting up and down doing your defensive your attacking work you arri in the penalty area opportune moments from time to time don't you oh yeah for sure that's part of my job um you know that's what I pride myself on is scoring goals I know it's a shock to some but that's what I hopefully bring to the team I'm I'm sometimes not the prettiest on the eye but I know I'll get in the box and score your goals well it's the kind of thing that one or two your teammates could could follow you on that as well because your movement in the box is exceptional they' got people static in there that they're being marked and you just pop out of nowhere yeah I you know what I laugh with Carell because I feel sorry for him because we always laugh because he gets held by both Center arms and they worry about him all the time and I talk to him all the time about he distracts the center arms and I just float in there and and pick up the scraps and hopefully get the goal so he does a lot of work carbo in the Box without actually getting a lot of credit and a lot of kind of end products for it so I have to give a lot of credit for him two1 down you're going into seven minutes of stoppage time you must have thought I just want the final whistle never uh I don't think that's the case for me losing I think we we when we're winning but it's the one I always give us in that Gest we'll never give up and whether that's we've got 1% left in the tank or we've got everything left in the tank we will never ever give up at this football club and I think we've shown that throughout the years if we could have easily left this football club and it could have been gone so I think we'll never we'll never ever give up in that dress room whether it's we're losing a game of football or we're fighting something else out there we've never given up so it was just delightful to get the goal and get a point just before you go you saw Harry Carwell with a similar header you know just not getting there you must have thought that was the last chance but what made you go in as you did at the last minute not I so tired I thought we need a goal so I thought I'm going to stand up front and I know we had kind of bit of a lopsided shape so I think you know what I just stand in the box and help carbo out and we had nothing to lose in the end it was if we lost 3-1 or 2-1 it didn't matter we just wanted to try and be in there so thankfully a chance happened to me it fell to me so and I got on the end of it in the bath now is it yeah big recovery now I think like I said that was a hard game football so nice day off tomorrow and then hopefully a nice recovery for f at the the weekend great performance guys well done thank you very much what do it feel like when that ball hit the back of the net there at the end just you know ecstatic I think I'm just riding the wave at the moment I'm I I know everyone's laughing and saying playing up front and stuff like that but I'm just riding the wave because I know bad times are not so far around the corner in football so I'm just riding the wave and see how far it can take me but I'm just delighted that we just got a point and we got out there cuz I think we deserved the point I think it was a fair game I think it was a battle but I think we deserve the point out of the game
