PANIC on Christian McCaffrey? Week 2 Adds + 49ers Jets recap

5.3 a carry one touchdown he looks strong he looks smooth and we're here to discuss whether this creates any sort of panic for Christian mcaffry owners not just because we think there's a chance they want to keep him healthy all year right he's 28 years old and when you have a guy capable as capable as Jordan Mason you wonder if you're going to do some sort of uh you know NBA load management type treatment I mean something you would think about when this guy's as effective as he is no one's saying he's better than Christian mcaffrey and I know a Christian mcaffry owner is going to be like hell no that's not going to happen mcaffry is mcaffrey but he's injured right now you also got to wonder if the ners were kind of rushing him back a little bit and then they decided not to right and they say well now we're definitely not going to rush him back so we don't really know what the status is for week number two mcaffrey could sit one more game he could play uh Mason could could get just a little bit of work and Shanahan could run the the the tread off the tires with CMC and we we're laughing about this coming out of week number two we have no clue what this is going to look like what we do know though is that this guy looked phenomenal and he's probably the number one waiver wire claim adjusted waiver wire order because this is rolling all week long we always reference it we're so Mason definitely saved some people this week no doubt about it Mason saved you if you had them now how did you know to have them well I mean you may have known on your own I'm not saying that that's not possible but we definitely hammered home the point over and over and over and over again and congrats to all of you that have Jordan Mason that have even gendo and Mason together because this is the way this is the way this is how you win a league this is how you win a week and congrats to every single one of you that ended up uh uh grabbing the trio even and said you know forget what everybody's going to say about it oh look at him over there look at look at Steve over there grabbing three players for one spot ah what a bad running back stable uh well this is unlike any running back stable you've ever seen in Miami this is also the most potent running back slot in fantasy football Christian mcaffrey slot and if you give this to Mason clearly you're getting running back one number so this is fantastic production for for Jordan Mason um what what a what a game and to recap the game real quickly and then we'll get into Christian mcaffrey concerns and panic chamber conversation let's take a look at this game log uh the Jets kind of looked good in the beginning of the game and we all kind of thought that this was going to go a certain way like God Aaron Rogers looks good Garrett Wilson's getting force fed in the beginning of the game Garrett Wilson I believe caught one pass the entire second half six catches for 60 yards what happened to the game plan of feeding him I know they were double teaming him they were containing him but Garrett Wilson in motion you can't really fully contain him so what was the game plan what was going on there I don't know what happened to the Jets offense in this game you know you know the feeling we all kind of have about and I think it's unfair to fully feel this way about Kurt Cousins and the Falcons right now and I you know we're all kind of wondering about penx Jr aren't we admit it you're you're thinking about penx Jr right now you are don't lie you are you don't have to worry about what cousins thinks about this this is between you and I I won't tell them you're thinking about penx Jr getting in the lineup aren't you we don't have that luxury in this New York Jet situation and I'm not saying I feel like Aaron Rogers isn't looking good he he had some really good you know throws and and I like what I see but what I'm fearing is this feels a little bit like that game against the Steelers for the Falcons where you're like why isn't this looking better you know why why is this not looking better now the Niners defense looks tough I I do think they look really really good the Niners are very very very solid from top to bottom they've always been one of the best teams top to bottom talent-wise in the National Football League if they avoid injury they're going to be right there the Eagles the Niners the the Lions I mean these are the these are the best teams in the NFC it's going to come down to that okay the Packers were in the mix maybe they get back in the mix if Jordan love can rush back without putting himself in Jeopardy and I kind of feel like Jordan Love's going to miss one game and we're going to hear some REM remarkable uh you know Miracle type story but but right now it's like the Niners are the lead dogs they they're favored they were I don't know if they are still uh favored to win every single game in the schedule this year so like everyone knows they're coming right it's a matter of can they stay healthy and they just answered one crazy question of can they produce Elite running back one numbers not mediocre low-end running back numbers can they produce Elite running back one numbers if Christian mcaffry is out and Jordan Mason answered the call Jordan Mason answered the call uh as I have on screen but I want to allude to it here 28 carries 147 um and uh in the touchdown on the ground and then Mason of course has uh also some pretty you know pretty pretty uh good potential even though it didn't show in this game I think to receive the ball they just were focused on on getting him going on the ground and so you have Debo Samuel kind of leading the way in this this hybrid role that he has nothing really amazing to show for in the passing game Brock py was very pedestrian 231 zero TDS zero ints at least he didn't turn the ball over Jennings I said Jennings would be under what 30 something yards it was and he he proved me wrong there 64 yards for Joan Jennings five catches Debo Samuel only five for 54 the Jets D is good the the Jets D is very good I didn't think Jennings would even have this but I think the focal point of this of shutting down auk KD and Debo uh allowed jenns to get some some wide open looks across the middle there was a play where he was completely wide open because I think the coverage was clamped down on everybody else and he was just sitting there uh so Jenny's got a big rip on that one I think it was a 22 yard run or reception uh but Debo five for 54 you might look at this and go oh my God he didn't have a good day Debo tore it up 23 rushing yards and a touchdown he had that five for 54 so Debo was excellent in this game but aside from Jordan Mason uh and Debo Samuel this is a very very like mundane very average game and it came down to field goals M Moody had what six field goals was it and and it was just the the running the running touchdowns on the other side of the football Bree Hall had had 54 yards not a very good yards per carry tote there 3.4 but he had the touchdown Bree Hall also carried uh carried the the receiving room a little bit here five receptions for 39 yards Lazard was a a big surprise somebody asked me in the chat should they start Lazard and I I I don't think I told him to but it was like do we start brillan Allen do you start Lazard and Lazard had two TDS so I apologize to that person I don't think anybody saw that two touchdown Affair coming so my bad on that one I'll take a lap uh those are the things that kill you you know you're watching the game you know and Ed you know right on right walking out the door when the live stream's ending hey Smitty would you start Lazard no Ed I'm going to go eat my my loaded baked potato Miss Smitty got me I'm going to go watch the game in peace and I'm eating this load of baked potato sour cream bacon all over it cheese and I'm thinking about Ed I'm thinking about Ed who said should I start Lazard and I'm like what's Lazard going to do what's Lazard going to do really what's Lazard going to do to TDS I'm sorry Ed I'm sorry Ed I apologize I failed you um as as for you know what to make of this situation we got a a late minute a a last second scratch from Christian mcaffrey last second scratch and there is a lot of Buzz saying he would play there wasn't a lot that it would indicate that he was going to sit and even Raj I went live with Raj on on on Instagram yesterday and I said why don't they sit him just to keep him safe it's a long season it's a marathon why don't they sit him for one game and put in Mason see what he's got it's a tough matchup anyway uh and and and just see what he's got put him out there and say and maybe maybe not even not even sacrifice the game you can still win the game but maybe you're sacrificing a little bit in one game to salvage the rest of the season cuz if if if CMC went down it'd be devastating and and Raj said and I'm not saying this because Raj was wrong or anything I'm just saying Raj said that mostly when you are questionable Shanahan plays you that's like the the historical trending of that and so it was very much thought that that Christian mcaffrey was going to suit up and play in this game mcaffrey himself was saying that they're being extra cautious with me but I want to play I'm going to play I I expect to play uh and he sits out so you do wonder if there's something behind the scenes going on like he was testing it it started feel weird again and he stopped and now he feels like he's set back a little bit or he's worried this thing hasn't quite gone away the the concern would be that he needs to see somebody a specialist or there's something going on tomorrow you know if we hear something like that if if it's more about it was a total precaution he doesn't have a single thing wrong with his Cal maybe it's a little sore and sometimes you have soreness and it's not pulled anymore but it's sore and he just didn't feel like he was in a good enough condition to go out there and not put his body at risk maybe even compensation injuries somewhere else like a hamstring or groin by trying to carry your leg and and drag it along as you're not maybe in the best of football shape because you've been taking it easy trying not to to test the hamstring or test the C injury so we don't know we have no clue I'm not trying to insinuate that CMC is out for the year I'm not trying to ins insinuate CMC is even hampered at all and this was this could be completely precautionary but we have two problems here and that's what makes this maybe a panic chamber moment for Christian mcaffry owners is you have not only we don't know what happened we don't know if this Cavender is not really going away and that's why he sat we also have the idea in concept now that Jordan Mason can be used in conjunction with Christian mcaffrey to make sure mcaffrey stays healthy throughout the entirety of the season so you can hammer down in the playoffs and use him as much as you need to and that's a smart play like if you're a coach if you're a football coach and Mason just did what he did it would be logical to say let's give this thing kind of a 6040 look which might still have him producing amazing numbers to a degree but is it the numbers you wanted is it the number one overall player type of production I don't know and I'm not sitting here saying that I know what's going to happen with bason that I'm predicting that it will be a 60/40 split I'm saying that it's logical that a coach would say we've got a long season with a 28-year-old running back that was out for two straight Seasons because of soft tissue injuries and the last time he got hurt and missed two seasons he was given a workload that we just gave him in 2023 Christian mcaffry was hurt exiting 2023 he sat out the entire second half of the of week 17 screwed a lot of people in fantasy including myself yeah a little bit bitter but I'm objective I'm objective I'm not I'm not biased I was joking around about it earlier I am a little pissed but I'm not I can look at this thing objectively but he ended injured and he started injured and he's 28 years old and he has a huge injury history don't tell me he doesn't because he shook it free for a little bit he's been banged up he was banged up all last year he somehow managed to play there were several times where we thought he wouldn't play he had a knee issue he had a knee issue a couple times there's a lot of reasons why he may have sat he didn't he was banged up all year okay so he's been banged up all year the previous year he ends the season injured he walks into the season injured injured he's 28 years old and he has a super long injury history on that alone we can close the Panic chamber doors not saying to sell him for for dog water type pricing not saying that you shouldn't you know hold on to him and just cuff him and if you've got him cuffed you're good to go but there's concern there's concern and at at this point you know I said all all heading into week one trade CMC for two players go after aan and go get Devonte Smith go after kairen and go get Cooper cup go after hen and go get Cooper cup get Cooper cup and Pacho how do that look now how does that look now how's little Cooper cup look now let me tell you something about little Cooper cup little Cooper cup looks like he might just be a top 10 overall player and dare I say if you came to me and said Smitty I'll trade you Alan raw St brown right now for your Cooper cup dare I say that about half or more of the chat maybe well way more than half the chat is going to say give me Cooper cup did Cooper cup just go from third round value he was a fourth rounder in the beginning of the off season he was an absolute steal did he just go from third round value to top 10 overall did he go from third round value Andrew says top five who here would take Cooper cup over Al mon ra St Brown I I would I would love to know where you all value Cooper cup versus Jamar Chase versus Alman Ross St Brown drop your your take here and I'll put it up we've got a top seven Cooper cup we've got Max s cup we we've got what happened to mcaffrey he's been suffering with a Cav Achilles injury and and he sat out I we don't know the extent of what happened we got a cup we've got a cup scared of Cup's injury passed uh round two for Angus Angus is angry uh cup says says Kevin St brown but it's close uh Travis says I'm on I'm on Raw um I have them both says Millie St brown but oh I already did the St Brown in is close so I would say it's like 80% cup 80% cup that means and I don't think St Brown should drop out of anybody's top 10 he was a top 10 player who cares if he had a bad week one he's Al mon ra St Brown so what this is telling me that everybody values Cooper cup nine overall eight overall 10 overall as you should uh back back on point back on point I I I think that that first of all that's closed you can't trade Christian mcaffrey for cupping somebody you might not even be able to trade Christian mcaffrey for cup straight up and and a Niner fan or or a heavy Christian mcaffrey investor for 2024 is gonna be like that's you hear this guy can you believe what he just said am I right am I right can you believe what he said am I right am I am I [Music] right I I'm not I'm not saying that that's that's a concrete you know easy call I'm just merely saying cup is gained that much value and I'm also saying that in the offseason when you're dealing with a player that is such a a tough player to rank 28 injury history all these concerns and you have the ability to divide and conquer that player into two very good players one being an extreme byow like Cooper cup the other being an extreme byow like Kyon or aan you take advantage let me give you an example of something if you could still pull it off I would hammer home this trade over and over and over without hesitation and if I'm wrong and and Christian mcaffrey comes back with a fury and has an amazing weeks two or even if he misses week two but he's the top one to two running back the entire season from week three on doesn't miss a game he's amazing in week 15 16 17 and he's a baller there's a 80% chance that that happens I'm still potentially breaking even if I go get myself an underrated mhj and a Kiren who's underrated again coming out of week number one an hn and an mhj mhj being the anchor of any trade you try and pull off right now with Christian mcaffrey plug msj in draw it like I say this is how this is how I do anchor trading when I'm telling you guys to construct trades basically what I mean by anchor is you create two lines right you're trying to trade away CMC okay you create two lines and you draw and you and you you uh write in the player that is the anchor of the trade it can be the smallest value it could be let's say your anchor is you go damn I really want to get tank Dell right now tank Dell is not going to be anywhere close to CMC so if you write tank Dell in here you know you have a lot of Firepower to balance this scale your anchor is a very light player but it's the player you want to focus on so what does this other owner have on his roster does he have a kirn is this something that you can do and pull off absolutely what if mhj is your anchor mhj is fantastic right now Amazing by low I do this in a heartbeat aan he's injured right now I'm really scared about aan okay give him to me I'll take hhan I'd take hhan and and mhj I don't know if you can do this anymore I imagine in some leagues you can in some leagues you can't the honest truth is mcaffrey could be outstanding in weeks two three four five six we have no clue none of us have a single clue and no one's letting us know any details at least right now in regards to this Cav injury this c/ Achilles injury but what I do know is a 28-year-old running back with an injury that is designated a even remotely part of it is is concerning to the Achilles I'm scared to death I'm scared to death now if you've got Jordan Mason you really have nothing else to worry about and you won't have anybody that's going to want to necessarily come and trade and trade for this guy Christian MCA without Jordan Mason so I don't think there's any move for you to be for you to make you're just going to ride the wave you're going to say to yourself I've got a player in in in Christian mcaffrey that if he's in there he's going to be an absolute monster I I'm totally fine with that and if he's not in there I'm going to put Mason in you're still running the risk of there could be a committee but you have no other choice if you have Christian mcaffrey on your roster and you've got Mason no one's really going to come and knock him I I would still be I would still be tempted to try what I just mapped out go get an mhj and Kiren go get an hn in mhj go get a potential I'd even say tank Dell and hn tank Dell and and Kiren those guys make a lot of sense PCO maybe as well PCO in a wide receiver go try and do that in several different ways and if you can't do it sit tight don't sell low don't sell medium rare you bought this guy's the number one overall player you have no choice but am I closing the Panic chamber door on Christian mcaffrey I am cuz I'm concerned doesn't mean he's a complete bust doesn't mean I'm running away from them but I'm majorly concerned so much so that I want you to know that I'm closing the Panic chamber door and you need to try and make those trades but don't sell low you are in the Panic chamber man what what a what a what a week what a week and you guys know some of my favorite buy lows of this week plain and simple are are these these cats right here we're going with momes as the number one Gog get player walking out of week number one this marker is going out of is out of control momes number one number two overall by low is mhj second best byow in fantasy walking out a week number one I I think I think I think Kiren is definitely a great BYO his mediocre 50 yards on the ground one touchdown is not satisfying and wetting the beak of the owner of kirn so you go after that uh make sure you're concerned with getting Korum you have to look at Ronnie Rivers now it seems like Ronnie rivers and Corum are fighting for the backup R currently this H hand doubt is so deep I mean the fact that he's got an ankle injury right now on the on the the walkth through the anticipated injury report not an actual real injury report it's a fabricated one a projected injury report he's on that and people are running their mouth about hn this hn that he's garbage he can't stay healthy told you now these are not hn owners typically these are regretful Rogers that said bad things about him and they're doubling down to shoveling crap crap on crap into saying I think I I was so mad about hn and I didn't pick him up and I didn't know he's going to be good so I'm going to keep shoveling more bad on top of bad because I I feel really ridiculous that I missed this and I don't want to feel stupid so I'm just going to shovel more crap on it I hope it sinks I hope hn fails so that I feel better about myself in my previous statements and doubling down and doubling down and doubling down let me tell you something aan was a monster aan was a fantasy football gem in week one you may not think so this guy is a Debo Samuel what Debo Samuel just did in this game that is what aan is he's the inverse of Debo Samuel Mike McDaniel designed Debo Samuel's role in San Francisco the head coach of the Miami Dolphins architected what you see right in front of your face Debo absolutely won me two or three weeks right now Deo Samuel was a beast tonight and you look at his receiving log you don't really see it right because it's 5 for 54 but Debo Samuel scored me 18.7 in my league I'm looking at right here because the man does everything and that's what hn is and I even say by low on moster if he's free if someone drops him pick him up make sure you grab Wright who's available in an uncomfortable amount of leagues right now I don't know why wri's still there go grab right cuff Boer to right I promise promise you there's still value there moster got injured he he should be fine for this week we'll know if he's not right will be elevated and right will start in in the the onew punch rooll with Devon Anan and anan's not affected one single bit by right or moster because he does what I just showed you he's Debo Samuel he's Debo Samuel the you typically see me walking into week one doing two for one trades how many times did I recommend you guys do two for one trades go go trade this guy and this guy and upgrade to Cooper cup go trade T Higgins and and uh T Higgins and potentially a doual for Cooper cup how did that work out trading two players for one and upgrading is the way to go walking into the season and it's still very good to do during the season but what I love to do in weeks 1 2 3 4 is divide and conquer take one player and turn him into two very very awesome players people are jumping ship on right away like McBride like kin Cade do you know how many people DM me on on the hour or comment somewhere and say I can't believe I drafted K like I agree with them can't believe I drafted King Kade what do you think I should do with him what do you mean what should you do with him one week of football's gone by and you're asking me what do we do with momes what do we do with mhj what do we do with King Kade we're smarter than that I trained you all way too well to be hearing that after week one from even one person we drafted players that we believed in and London's going to ball McBride's goingon to ball McBride again 90% route participation Harrison Jr 95% route participation bejan Robinson 90% of the snapshare bejan Robinson needs to be on this list I know he's not going to be the cheapest on this list but there are people s suggesting that they wasted a top five pick on bejan Robinson and I scratched my head and I asked myself did I what did I do to offend offend this person what did I do to offend this person did I not prepare them for anything how do you not see the snapshare percentage and he also uh beon 82% of the rushing attempts were beon this is not a committee he looked fantastic he was heavily involved in every aspect of the game he's the true Workhorse he's getting all the work across the board practically and he had a very tough matchup bejon Robinson is going to have those two and three touchdown games multiple times this year and he proved to be the Workhorse worthy of being drafted in the top five overall London go get him go get him I I I have a few more names that I want to roll through to make sure you guys are not sleeping at the wheel in terms of buying low on some of the best win a league talents walking into week number two I I think it's very this is such what are we doing what are we doing when a guy like J Mo who we talked about J all the time I'm very proud of our J Mo support I feel like we landed something pretty big on this channel When J did what he did we talked J up all offseason but does that mean that he's lost Alan raw has lost his job to J or does it mean that this is a player that yes will like tank Dell and Collins have rotational moments no doubt about it he'll be very very good he's fantastic if Alan raw went down he would Thrive and do Alan raw things but are we that fickle where we're jumping off the Alan raw train after one week where they tried to shut him down now defenses are concerned hearing about worried about this guy J now we're going to see a little bit more balanced coverage across the board there because they can't contain both of them they need to try their best to do it but Alan raw is going to have his day he's a great by low I see people hey should I give up uh re should I give up Alan raw to get Reed what are we doing I love Reed I love Reed but he also just lost his quarterback so he gets a little bit of a bump for maybe two three four weeks we don't know how long uh Jordan love will be out but what are we doing when we consider a one-week explosion player who we love we like Reed a lot we've been supportive of Reed all offseason long love Reed we did a Green Bay Packer wide receiver video where I said one of these guys is going to be a top 8 to 12 wide receiver they have to one of the Green Bay Packer guys has to be a top 8 to 12 wide receiver it's inevitable and Reed's probably that guy but are we really trading Reed or or Aman raw to go get Reed even if it's something else no and Jamar Chase I'm getting on the flip side which is great news I'm getting a lot of you say should I give up re to go get Chaser Alan raw this guy's inquiring absolutely and that's how I know it's happening I'm seeing it on both sides I'm seeing people ask me should I do this trade I'm probably talked about it already I just joined I just left Levi Stadium driving home so I didn't watch the show but is there like a panic on CNC or you feel like this is something that's going to resolve I mean I can't I can't really go over the whole show when when people miss the beginning you got to rewatch it but but in a nutshell we're certain concerned we're really concerned that this is a longer term injury right because he missed time when he wasn't supposed to T Higgin said he felt fantastic and then he was ruled out so it's like what in the hell is going on with the injury and so there's that concern just the injury alone being scr a scratch is is a concern um the the second part is that this guy was so good Jordan Mason you got to ask yourself if Shanahan's gonna say let's roll with both of them and it's not like he's doing that because Mason's as good as mcaffrey he's doing it because it's a long season and you know you need to make sure you keep this 28-year old running back that has had a history of injuries he finished last year hurt he started this year hurt and you're probably just saying like I don't want him to tear as a kill he's tendon which is really a potential issue here so I would say like there's there's two red flags all right uh last question I mean like just kinding of Branch out for the same question like so more concern like in the shortterm kind of team maybe less in the long term because I noticed with Mason they didn't really he I don't know if he's been a I don't know his three in college they threw him like what one ball he doesn't seem to be much of a like like a reception kind of guy they rushed him 28 times obviously but regard regardless bro regardless bro taken 10 12 touches that's a lot so it doesn't matter if he's not getting any receiving work but but yeah there's it's a real it's a real concern but like do you get rid of CMC I I mean I would if if I could find a a a buyer that would give me as I said and again you just going to have to watch the whole show because I go over like trade Avenues and all that but if you're getting CMC getting rid of CMC and you're getting a doubted Kiren right now and you get somebody to give you either a tank Dell or better yet someone might even say that's not good enough fine go get mhj or go get London because everyone thinks London is absolute trash right now they think he's not even a a lowend wide receiver one they don't think he's barely a wide receiver three that's the way people view London right now you get this you just pull the trigger and you you divide and conquer one guy into two players that could in their own right carry this trade if one of them went down if Kyon went down London's going to maybe have something to say about this trade at the end of the day still like oh I still got London to fight against this London goes down you still got Kiren so you know divide and conquer if possible if not you got to sit on it but you don't have you don't have Mason so it's not even as attractive of a trade piece who wants to trade for an inre mcaffry right now you know he has to be deemed back you have to play a game he has to do well and then I would probably consider it but I don't know you're your only hope in that League where you drafted mcaffrey and didn't back him up like I've screamed at you to do all offseason um you your only choice is to ride it out probably and just hope that this league you end up being okay with it like mcaffry could be the number one running back in weeks two through 17 like there's no there's no telling what's going to happen with this so this is a league that you chose to draft him in so ride it out your other leagues you'll be you'll do you have diversity so it'll be fine yeah okay all like you are when you're comp considering Dell and Deo as your Flex spot so yeah I mean go get him I think he's a fantastic go- get if as long as Wright's not out there or potentially Ford drum Ford those are those are two great picks as well but King Kad and likely that gives you a lot of Firepower you could even trade King Kade off a big week to the Josh Allen owner who might still want him or you just ride it out with concade which I think is is not even really riding it out I love concade I I think it's ridiculous people are doubting him but you have options I definitely think that's okay as far as J orell I mean you could ride the hot hand with J I'm totally fine with that but just know that tank Dell is going to be an absolute stud still I think people are absolutely wilding out right now when they don't understand what in the hell they're talking about like oh Dell the Dell's not gonna Dell's not gonna Dell's not gonna what Dell Dell was there was a miscue by stoud where more during the week I mean we might hear from McVey we might hear from somebody that's their beat writer that's watching practices and such so I would say this is pending to change which is why I
