BREAKING: Christian McCaffrey NOT likely for Week 2; Achilles Tendinitis

things are not better things are worse on the Christian mcaffrey front the running back has a killes tendonitis according to sever several reports and according to Ian rap report mcaffrey unlikely very unlikely for week number two and we kind of know that right achilles tendonitis is no joke this is a cendre on top of Achilles tendonitis so they there's multiple red flags here in terms of injury and the fact that that that Jordan Mason looks so good in week number one I don't think the Niners are messing around at all with this situation if Mason were to stumble and fall get hurt something goes down I could see them rushing mcaffrey back but at this juncture with the news we have now knowing that mcaffry has got two injuries the Cav and the achilles tendonitis two different things in a sense in the same area uh there's huge concern that he will a be effective as effective at any point this year um and and also just the the idea of him potentially tearing his Achilles tendon and there is significant risk uh risk there if if there's a lot of different factors with this there's grades there's how how bad is it well a lot of stuff we don't know and I don't think we'll be told so we're here to speculate but at the same time I I don't think it would be safe or smart to assume that Christian mcaffrey is playing anytime soon now could he return in week three might even play in week two it's possible but my current guesstimation right now at the age of 28 with a Cav injury and achilles tendonitis two different things we're looking at a multiple week situation and if you remember back when mcaffrey was and and I I've said this for a while all offseason the amount of work that Christian mcaffrey got in 2023 his workload that he received in 2023 that type of workload the last time he got it he missed two seasons and he's 28 years old and we kept waiting for him to return remember and then he came back and then he went out it this feels a little bit like that situation where we're in the dark we don't know what's going on it could Progressive get worse he's 28 years old now running backs fall off the face of the Earth at 28 a lot of the time Eckler did it Aaron Jones you can say what you want about Aaron Jones right now coming out of week one but Aaron Jones last year we knew last year at 28 years old he would not be the same running back he would not play 17 games maybe he looked good per start but at 28 years old Aaron Jones was a potential walking injury as he is right now if you own Aaron Jones sell off of week one but 28 years old is the kiss of death to a lot of running backs you can't use Henry you can't use moster those are anomalies and for for two different reasons moster never had a heavy workload his entire career so he had a lot of less less mileage uh for with his situation Henry's just an anomaly that you can't draw any conclusions from at all and he's looking like he's slowing down obviously as well but this is a huge huge concern Jordan Mason shares go through the roof with this news I I'm not saying saying that he's out for the year I'm not saying he can't even return in week number three I'm not even saying it's in completely out of the question that some turn of events has him suiting up in week two but I have a very very strong feeling that he is out at least one more week probably more the fantasy because we only talked about this board over and over and over and over and over that Mason plus gendo plus mcaffrey was needed if you're drafting an injured Christian mcaffrey if you were drafting an injured Christian mcaffrey with a Cav injury at 28 years old you had an obligation to yourself and to your mother and to your entire family so you didn't embarrass your entire family in the family name by drafting a 28-year-old running back with a Cav injury that missed two seasons with soft tissue injuries years to go so we're we're here looking at this situation and we're saying Mason today is not the same price as Mason yesterday if you sent out some trade offers last night pull them all pull them all because the owner of Christian mcaffrey that's looking at that offer Once you pull it is going to panic and you might set off some trigger effect that has this owner coming back to you and begging you for Jordan Mason not to mention in the worst of of scenarios for you you're getting another top 10 running back play for week two maybe week three maybe week four depending on how he plays if he continues to thrive this man will sit and play it safe for the playoffs and if the Niners continue to win even more of a reason you'd see something like that play out that way but Achilles tendonitis is is no joke it's not something that's going to go away he's 28 years old with with a massive injury history injured at the end of last year hasn't played yet this year after one game and he's walking into the remainder of the Season as a huge huge red flag um as as far as Christian or or Jordan Mason's value I'd probably say that he goes from a crafty running back three with you know obviously running back one potential but when you're trying to equate his value into trade value or if you're trying to reconstruct draft value and reverse engineer the draft value you're you're probably coming up with a flex type value you're not trading for Jordan Mason in a league or you weren't last night right trading for Jordan Mason in a league where you're giving up third round Talent you know you're not giving up let's say a DK met meta necessarily for a Jordan Mason when you don't know how many games you're getting of Jordan Mason now knowing this information knowing that even if he came back they would they would give him load management treatment this guy's now got Bonafide high-end flex play all year long but he's a running back one a top five to 10 running back maybe higher but you're going to rank him top five to 10 running back per start how many starts he is he get no one knows so if you have an offer sitting out there you sent it last night take it down withdraw it send the owner a message Mason's off the block Christian mcaffrey did you hear the news achilles tendonitis on top of the Cav injury they will then respond he's fine I'm fine I don't need he they're not going to care they're not going to care just like a Niner fan in the comments and I'm sure we got two or three or four of them that are popping off saying he'll be okay he'll be okay you don't know you don't know anything Jon Snow you don't know anything Jon Snow you don't know what the hell's going to happen we don't know what's going to happen truly it mcaffry could come back by week five week six and ball out but my guess is he won't be healthy all year long I I don't know and I hate to say that can we first before this turns into some sort of Smitty against Christian mcaffrey Smitty reigning on this parade or something like that number one I don't do that I always wish players success I never wish ill will upon anybody and and I think Christian mcaffrey for a moment in time here we need to stop pause and give this man a standing ovation for all he's given fantasy football this is not a goodbye I'm not saying he can't come back this season and ball out but before we go any further I don't want people to think I'm a hater Christian thank you first of all M potatoes I mean really really Christian mcaffrey is amazing and and he still is in this moment in time but we're here to stand on business we're here to try and improve our chances of winning Fantasy Football and going after 28-year old running backs is already Risky Business it was it's why this man wasn't a favorite of the show walking into the season now you you're always running the risk of calling this too early like even last year it wasn't like he was a fade but last year he was uh is he going to be the number one running back is he not and he ended up being absolutely fantastic you're going to call this too early when you try to call something like this at all and and the phrase that Grandpa used to always say it's better to be a year early than a year late and I think that that applied specifically even more so this year even though if anybody was worried about it last year and it ended up that mcaffry was a baller even though he still failed people in week 17 might I remind you um there there was that threat of okay I I don't want that to happen again so I'm just going to believe in him and a lot of people had that thinking with Derrick Henry and as we we approached the final two three weeks of of uh August these these two Derrick Henry and Christian mcaffrey became a big concern on the show because a the Ravens offensive line B the likelihood of Henry getting passing down work wasn't looking good this man right here 28 years old finished the season hurt has had the Cav andry for a while now it's been lingering and now we hear he's got Achilles tendinitis and he's got the Cav injury two separate injuries pretty much they're they're they're connected but they're two separate injuries and the odds of this man potentially tearing his Achilles tendon go up significantly having achilles tendonitis not knowing what's going on in there is there Scar Tissue involved is there all kinds of stuff going on inside that that situation and C injury alone gives him the potential to tear in Achilles tendon and then you got the compensation hamstring injury because he's compensating and he's being careful with the Achilles tendon and the Cav there's so many red flags here I I don't I I'm sniffing out this situation and and the stench of it is that this is a long-term season long problem I'm not saying he can't come back week five or six but if they try and Rush him back here's where I I say I'll Define it if they try to rush him back in week three or better yet that's almost unfair because this man wants to play injured if mcaffrey rushes himself back self diagnoses tries to rush back doesn't want his job taken Mason's not taking it but running backs think like that players think like that I don't want this guy to shine too bright you know cuz then then I'm not needed and I'm not feeling good I just got paid I want to prove that I'm a dog let me go out there and and just ball out if he rushes back let's say this week or next week and this thing is lingering like Shanahan described and Shanahan went to the podium yesterday and he said when asked hey did Christian mcaffrey suffer a setback Shanahan said no but his answer was worse than yes he said no he didn't suffer a setback but this has been on and off it comes and goes comes and goes it's been bothering him and then it kind of goes away then it comes back that is alarming for a 28-year-old running back when describing a cavenger because C injuries while they're not maybe the the biggest injury you would think of right knee injury ACL even hamstring or groin those are injuries that people often times they'll say those linger all year long they linger a Cav injury is so tricky it's a tricky injury and it can affect so many different things and you can think it's healed and it's not you can't simulate game play for a running back either and a running back more than any other positions probably more prone to reinjury or injuring it when it appears to be on the mend because you can't simulate getting hit and having your muscles Flex in ways that you only Flex when you you're not expecting to go in this direction or expecting to go in that direction and a running back's getting hit by four and five players at a time a wide receiver with a c injury they're doing direct motions most of the time they get hit too but they're running a certain way they're cutting on their own uh on their own uh uh you know demand but a running back is running through a hole getting hit in the back getting hit in the side and having to fire off those imagine your your C just firing off just all over the place as you're trying to maintain your balance and that is where you tear these things you can't simulate that so if McCaffrey's you know sitting out healing he's doing rehab he's jogging he's even doing some light sprinting it feels pretty good I don't think it's it's there anymore C injuries are so tricky especially if you're over the age of 27 28 they're so tricky because once you get into game play and you have a a 300lb line Linen on your back you've got two guys hitting you from the side you're going in four different directions and you fire that thing off boom if Christian mcaffrey doesn't play this smart and at least sit out 3 or 4 weeks he might be 100% 100% looking for the remainder of the year on and off a little bit if he sits out properly this thing could get better it could get better it won't be it won't be 100% he'll probably always suffer with achilles tendonitis might be sore after games might kind of get back to form get sore in in stay off major injury that's if he sits out and heals this thing if mcaffrey comes back in week two which I doubt he does and Ian rap report said today just a few minutes ago that mcaffrey is not likely it would be a surprise if mcaffrey played in week number two if he rushes back in week three I have the same concerns what which brings this full circle that a he could be in in a sense feel like a waste because you get excited we're getting hyped up and mcaffrey comes back in week three or that happens he gets reinjured he plays the entire season whichever way you spin this this man has tremendous has tremendously increased in value in the in the past 24 hours really and if I have him out in offers I'm pulling all of them I'm yanking him and I'm going to make that Christian mcaffrey owner crawl and beg to get the services of Jordan Mason on their roster or I'm not trading them I'm yanking every offer the price just doubled and you play hard ball in these situations and I'm not afraid to over play my hand because in a worst case scenario I have a guy that's probably sharing carries with Christian mcaffrey in a high octane offense for the remainder of the year and even if in week five or six he feels ready to come back there is a world where this man's getting 40% of the work or even 50 and this man's getting 60 or 50% of the work there is a world where this is an absolute sharing situation the remainder the remainder of the year in order to keep this man healthy and on the field for the playoffs it it's uh is crazy news crazy news Let's uh let's go ahead to pounce on this situation uh if Christian mcaffrey is on IR all of a sudden and he misses four mandatory games the Niners could do that the Niners could do that it's it doesn't feel like it's real I'm sure if you're a Niner fan you're thinking no way this can't happen this cannot happen but it it's possible that they do this even for his own good we're going to shut you down for 4 weeks make
