times throughout this series in episode three Jen is hosting a graduation party for Zach who the entire time they say is a med student but literally he's it's a graduation party for his undergraduate degree so he really is not a med student yet and also he finished his undergraduate at 27 years old okay a lot of people were like why is he 27 finishing the undergrad degree um one thing that a lot of people in the church will do is they'll take a gap semester then go on a mission for 2 years then start school but I feel like the average graduate of college is like 22 plus 2 years would be 24 so I guess maybe it was the two kids they had and money that made him take that long to graduate but I still think they're all like I thought he was graduating med school not graduating undergraduate stop calling him a med student he doesn't deserve that title yet we learned that Zach's family is like the perfect Mormon family the scary Ridge blond hair blue eyes surgeon's Elite Mormon Circle and Jen doesn't come from a lot of money we learned that she feels kind of uncomfortable with that it seems like his family kind of does that thing where they make her feel like she's not good enough for him even though she's supporting the family raising two kids and doing everything while he's getting an undergraduate degree and at this undergraduate party they cater Pizzeria Lone and thirst drinks my favorite things ever I love I constantly crave Pizzeria Lone Utah doesn't have good food but for some reason Pizzeria Lone is at this party Whitney gaps about not drinking and being a better Mormon than everyone else literally the last episode she was drinking champagne with her husband so what the [ __ ] are you on about Whitney Whitney Jen Macy and Michaela continued to establish themselves as the Saints The Devout the pure ones of the group at this party Taylor tries to settle her differences with Whitney and talk about like hey why didn't you come to my baby shower why aren't we friends and honestly Whitney just kind of blows Taylor off because Whitney thinks like we don't have to be friends so it's really not worth talking about which I think is honestly kind of a valid perspective Ive Taylor doesn't realize that Whitney is mad at her because she cut her off and made the story time about her which is totally understandable I think Taylor should probably search deep inside herself and realize that most people would be pretty pissed about that at the graduation party they all hop in the hot tub so they can be sexy and bikinis in front of each other and on TV obviously and at this party at Zach's parents very Mormon House Jesse's husband pulls out a flask and tries to get people to start getting lit and obviously Jen and her devout husband Zach are cring everybody is honestly kind of cringing because they're like at the parents house really are we in high school like this was not like the vibe so I can see how that might be weird in the next scene we get to watch Michaela Jen and Whitney go get BOTOX for some reason they get laughing Gass to get BOTOX which I think is a little dramatic however I have gotten lip filler before and I wish that were an option when I did it they basically say that they just do it cuz they like to get high off it I guess they've never gotten the college experience of doing whipits I'm not saying I have I haven't I just found out what that was recently but they basically just do that for fun and laugh and giggle they talk about for some reason tattoos aren't allowed in the church piercings aren't allowed in the church but altering your appearance through plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures is allow and that's kind of a funny nuance and drugs and alcohol aren't loud but recreational laughing gas I guess is next Jen talks about how she was really offended by Jesse's husband pulling out a flask at the graduation and she can't have a repeat of that at her baby's blessing she talks about how she worries about the Sinners ruining the event and making it a Rowdy party which honestly I can kind of see where she's coming from I'm sure they would be on best behavior but also her husband is really kind of a paranoid freak he is definitely convincing her like don't you dare invite those Rowdy to my child's baby blessing so I can see and also in real Mormon culture I feel like you really don't invite friends to that I've literally only been to my cousins baby blessings continued power struggle between Whitney and Taylor that's only in Whitney's mind and is very annoying then we get a scene where Demi is getting her hair done by Jesse at the salon and they're talking about the baby blessing like hey I know Jen was talking about her baby blessing and invited us but it's got to be coming up and we haven't gotten a formal invitation yet like what's the deal so they decide to FaceTime Jen and be like is this still happening and Jen is like well I don't know I I just wasn't sure I wanted to invite you I wanted to keep it tight I'm only inviting some girls I didn't want it to be crazy and then all of a sudden Jen's husband hops on the phone and is like I don't even know you guys I didn't want to invite you guys cuz I don't know you I don't know your husbands were keeping it small it was kind of weird that he got involved but it was also kind of weird that they got confrontational about a baby blessing cuz you don't even want to be there it's so boring and weird I would never want to do that unless you're one of my friends from my hometown watching and of course I want to support you and your child on this day I love you friends and family Jen does the baby blessing with only the Saints of the group invited and in response de me decides that she wants to do a galentine's day party where everybody is invited to kind of fix the friendships and make good TV at this galentine's party the girls start coming at Jen for not inviting them to the baby shower and I can understand how sometimes it feels shitty to not be invited to stuff because you're not a good enough Mormon I've experienced that a lot and it sucks sometimes but also it's not that deep it feels like this was not something that they would have even wanted I guarantee they would have been on their phone during the blessing it seems like they just kind of get over it though but the real bombshell is that some time ago she does a spicy story that she had with her husband involving Fruity Pebbles somehow you can look it up but I really don't understand what she was referencing and at the galentine's party Whitney cutely wraps up this box so cute she hands it to De and she's like I got you a special gift just for you de is so flattered she's like oh how sweet we've been having like a lot of problems so it like means a lot that you would give this to me like that's so nice all the girls are watching and the Saints are all in on the joke with Whitney she opens it and it's a shoe box filled to the brim with Fruity Pebbles referencing that story making fun of her and I mean rightfully so she's pissed she storms out like serious ly in my own party you're going to do this like I told you that in confidence I think maybe not all the women knew the story so it feels like it's exposing her it's making fun of her and then after deise storms out because of this whendy sits there on the couch and was like I don't know why she's so pissed I was just being funny I Wendy makes herself the victim that de is mad at her and this irked me to watch cannot stand her now we're to episode 4 in episode 4 Michaela notes this she's kind of getting sick of Whitney's [ __ ] and I like to watch this because you can tell throughout the series Whitney starts coming over to the dark side a little bit I mean she got knocked up at 16 years old she's not the most devout Mormon we start seeing hints that Jen and her husband are struggling in their marriage it seems like he's kind of controlling and she's breadcrumbing us on what's going on the girls all do a girls night dinner together and for some reason they make Jen do a prayer over the food which is so dramatic but actually in Utah sometimes you will go out to eat at a restaurant and you'll see a family praying over their dinner at a restaurant some people do it at this dinner Demi brings something called the truth box where you can submit questions to the box for somebody in the group to answer this is so straight out of Real Housewives this happens at every dinner where Meredith Marx goes and something about her husband you want to talk about husband very real housewife's coded but it's a good way to stir up drama for your show during this game Whitney has asked if she only hates Taylor because she's jealous of the clout and Whitney says no I'm jealous of Taylor because Taylor was forgiven for the swinger talk drama and nobody talks about it anymore and the internet moved on so quickly but I did a Tik Tok dance in front of my baby dying of RSV and posted it and nobody forgave me and I actually was dying and then it does a one-on-one interview with her where she's talking about how hard it was that she got canceled but then demise says that she had done some sort of treatment with Whitney and in the treatment she alleges that Whitney was being super honest and said yeah I only did the RSV thing for clout and likes I didn't actually do it to spread awareness who knows where the truth lies on that one Macy finally adits that Whitney is openly very jealous of Taylor because she thinks she should be the queen bee of mom talk then Whitney claps back and Whitney says that Dei was talking [ __ ] on Jen saying that Jen is too Mormon okay I don't know how Jen gets so offended over this because like let's be so for real you are judging everyone you are always talking about your garments you're making us do prayers at dinner you are being a little extra and Jen's whole thing is like why didn't you come to me first she didn't come to you first cuz she was just talking a little [ __ ] she just said that's an annoying thing you why would she come to you but then Jen says well you know what Demi I also know that you called Taylor Frankie Paul White Trash then Taylor Frankie Paul is like wait what why'd you call me white trash Demi's kind of a real one for this she goes whoa now everybody in the room is mad at me because I've been talking [ __ ] so I better come clean on this she washes her hands though she goes yes Taylor I did call you white trash because you were acting like white trash you were hitting on my husband you were trying to swing with him you were making out with everybody there you were putting eyes on my husband you were drunk you were messy and that is kind of trashy respect after this whole truth boox drama unfolds we get to see a private conversation between Whitney and Macy where Whitney [ __ ] out Macy like why W you there for me why didn't you defend me during that fight and Macy's like I don't know I was just like trying to remember what happened there was a lot going on and Whitney's like you're such a bad friend why don't you have my back Demi and Taylor actually make up and move on and Taylor and Whitney are trying to make up and move on but then deig goes mask off she's like you know what Whitney I hate Wy and I don't know why she's up there being nice with Taylor Taylor's being way too easy on there I'm going to go there and I'm going to chew her out she's like a yappy freaking Chihuahua she's like I'm getting involved I think this is where she realized that she wanted to be a main character in the series so she just inserts herself she marches upstairs into this debate and she [ __ ] out Whitney she calls Whitney a fake she calls her jealous she talks about how Whitney thinks she's the best Mormon she just eats her up for everything that the rest of us have been thinking this entire Series so Whitney goes and cries in the closet and the Girls rally around her and Dem is like this so she gets her bestie Jesse and Jesse goes to the closet where all the girls are crying with Whitney and is like hey we don't like you because you clearly use people you have a group of girls you leech off them for clout and fame and likes and then you move on you were best friends with Taylor until she stopped serving you then you moved on you're best friends with her until it stopped serving you then you move on that's why we don't like you you tell our secrets you expose us to me told you that she thought that thing about Jen and confidence and you're going to expose it there's no reason for you to do all that that's why we don't like you and that was very satisfying to watch and then Whitney continues to cry and Macy continues to comfort her moving on to episode 5 in this episode Lila is having a divorce party it's cute it's like a funeral to her old last name after this girls night drama Whitney is feeling like everybody is against her and she's not getting enough attention or praise from the girls so she leaves the mom talk group chat and she has blocked Demi on every platform Leila continues to talk about why she's getting divorced she had a shotgun wedding at 18 years old she didn't even know who she was and she's just excited to refind herself as a single woman the girls decide they want to do a party at a rage room because they're all so worked up and mad at each other and need to get out that frustration they plan it but Whitney's not in the group chat so Whitney doesn't get invited the girls obviously they're influencers they post photos and videos of them at the rage room Whitney sees this she's with her husband Connor and she's bitching a moaning that she didn't get invited she literally says I know I'm not invited cuz I left the group chat so how would they be able to invite precisely but she's like but I know they're posting photos to piss me off no they're posting photos cuz that's what your job is all of you are always posting photos what do you mean they did it for you no they did it for their million followers also in this episode we learned that Macy is starting a prenatal supplement company called baby mom it actually looks really cute and of course since Taylor is pregnant she models for Macy and of course Dakota Mr jobless puppy dog follows Taylor to the photo shoot Taylor is modeling taking photos for Macy's brand and Macy's kind of pissed because cuz she's like why is Dakota here I'm paying for this photo shoot this is for my business obviously we don't get along that's throwing me off and Taylor's like well I was hoping that you guys could make up Macy's like I have to pay hourly for the photographer for the studio I need these photos to come out no another example of her being so unself-aware that it's funny to watch so Macy says let's bookmark this Dakota and I will talk another time but at the end of the photo shoot Dakota does the most annoying thing he starts trying to put himself in the photos and literally you Macy's studio time and photographer for her brand to get free maternity photos of the both of them he's like sleazing his way into the photos and Mac's so pissed watching this it was so cringeworthy I was like pay for your own damn maternity photographer so we all think that Whitney is stepping away from the mom talk drama she's too good for it she's nobody likes her nobody cares about her we thought she's stepping away but randomly I don't even know how she shows up to lela's divorce party and everybody's like ew she ruined the Vibes stinky goodbye she shows up in her little Annabelle New Beginnings costume and Whitney approaches Jesse and decides that she is ranting to Jesse tonight she's like I just feel like everybody's so rude to me and hates me and Jesse's like well you left the group chat like why did you do that and she's like because I wanted to step away from it and I just don't understand why nobody reached out to me everybody here hates me and Jesse's like well we felt like it was really passive aggressive for you to just randomly leave our group chat and also we didn't want to reach out to you because clearly this was a test to see if we would reach out to you and it's just really giving desperate needy testy bad friend and none of us want to deal with that cuz we're adults in a very strange new scene Dakota Taylor and Macy are together and for some reason Macy is playing coup's therapist while Dakota and Taylor start literally yelling at each other in front of Macy talking about their issues Taylor doesn't trust Dakota because Dakota was sleeping with other women right up until the very second they decided they were exclusive and Dakota is mad because Taylor doesn't want to marry him yet and so they are just absolutely barking yapping at each other and Macy's just sitting there like o Taylor please leave for some reason Whitney is trying to find a new character Arc because I feel like she doesn't know what she's doing with her platform she doesn't know her spot in the show her and Connor want to start homesteading they want to go ballerina Farm okay random but whatever I mean she was just in La then Hawaii then Utah now she wants to be a homestead now we're to episode 6 at the top of this episode Whitney randomly unfollows every girl in the group Next Jesse has a vagina party where they really talk a lot about vaginas because she is getting a labia plasty this is something I skipped through cuz it's stting to make me really uncomfortable Dakota and Taylor are fighting so much to the point that Dakota is literally not responding to Taylor and the baby is like 2 weeks away at this point of course Taylor's Crazy mom lean gets involved and this is the advice Taylor's mom gives her she goes text Dakota and say that you're going into labor so that he'll call you back so finally Dakota answers and Leanne is like hi it's Taylor's mom why weren't you answering her wild absolutely bonkers they talk through the problems and lyanna is like you need to get your [ __ ] together cuz the baby is coming out and Dakota's like well it's just Taylor not me basically they don't really get anywhere with that conversation then the group decides that they are going to Vegas on a girls trip the catch is that Zach is coming on the vacation because he has huge control and trust issues and Dakota is coming because he also has control issues but his front is that Taylor could go into labor I mean it's not like these have jobs that keep them busy so they can come before the trip we see Zach begging Jen for a budget to gamble Jen ends up giving him $2,500 which as a 24-year-old woman supporting a husband and two kids is like a very generous amount and she tells him if you lose this money I'm going to be pissed and I don't even think he says like thank you for her just giving him random ass money while they're preparing for the trip Macy ends up getting an anonymous message from a girl saying that she slept with Dakota not knowing that he was in a relationship with Taylor so really struggles with should I Telltale or should I not once the girls are in Vegas Jesse surprises all of them with a secret outing so they all hop into the limo of course A lot of them are stressed like what is this going to be like Jen specifically had a conversation with her husband like how would you feel if we went and did like saw dirty show in Vegas his response was you'd be divorced so Jan is feeling very stressed about this Jesse says don't worry about it it's just a surprise they get in the limo and finally Jesse admits she got them all all tickets to Chi andales as soon as Jen hears this she is stressing out because she knows that Zach is not okay with that she's letting him know before they go that shit's about to go down and his response instead of being understanding that she didn't put herself in the situation and she didn't know he freaks out on her he's threatening to divorce her he's name calling he dropped the RW he's sending these massive paragraphs and before they even get to the event this poor girl is sweating and stressing Jen can't even enjoy the night whatsoever because she's going back and forth with her husband the whole time like he is actually threatening divorce meanwhile he's at the casino gambling the $2,500 his Sugar Mama gave him at the same time Dakota is freaking out on Taylor obviously not as bad as this so this kind of takes Center Stage but still Dakota has a problem with it we see shots of Dakota walking alone around the streets of Las Vegas making calls to his boys being like I'm really stressed about her being in the chip andales so ultimately Taylor Jen and Michaela leave the party early and the other girls have a ton of fun we don't know why Michaela left early but I wish they would have covered that I wonder if she has a rocky marriage too the girls come back from the party and Jen is still hunched over on her phone texting stressing freaking out that her whole life could be ruined after this night the girls are supporting her through this they are telling her they are empowering her that he should not be acting this way you deserve better if he's going to leave you over this then that's a good thing apparently at 2: in the morning Zach finally says I will only speak to you if you hop in an Uber and meet me here right now so Jen alone in Las Vegas hops in an Uber to meet up with him spends the night with him and comes out of it saying he apologized we talk through things he knows he was wrong we're stronger because of it now we're to episode 8 yay in this episode Taylor confronts Dakota about the rumor that she had heard of cheating from Macy of course Dakota denies it but it turns into a big fight between the two of them Dakota ends up going on a one-on-one weird drive around the block with Macy to talk about the issues he claims that Macy is self sabotaging his relationship which just irritates me because he's such a dumb [ __ ] box of rocks she can't self-sabotage your relationship that's not the definition of the word Macy honestly slays in this conversation she is really able to hold her own against this lunatic barking at her we also find out that Whitney is pregnant and she does this in this really weird scene where she puts a like peed on pregnancy test in a cake and then her family's like oh you compat on it so we can't actually eat the cake you bought okay and she's like well I put the lid on it so it's probably fine Jen sits down and has a conversation with her husband Zach because they have been going through a lot of issues she thinks that it would be better for their relationship for them to take a year off before he goes to medical school to decide where they're at in the relationship and navigate where they want to go if they want to stay together because med school is really hard on relationships she flags that she said if he goes to medical school they're going to have to move she's going to lose a lot of her career opportunities her friend group and she doesn't feel confident that at this point their marriage could stand the pressure that med school would put on them and then he looks at her he legitimately just says I don't care what an absolute villain Zach clearly doesn't like Mom talk and what's crazy is that since the show has dropped over the past few days his family has been coming out on Twitter and blaming Jen for him looking bad on TV how could you twist him looking her dead ass in the eyes and saying I don't care oh well you will care when your kids need [ __ ] diapers and you're too busy with med school to have a job who's going to help you then I think you might care this is what I hate so much he thinks that he's working because he's the man when he's in school he thinks that her influencer career is not real because it's a female dominated industry because she does it from home because she's able to also raise kids no she is working her ass off and you're not taking it seriously she is the true bread winner just because in 10 years you're going to be a doctor does not mean that you are currently the bread winner you need to accept the fact that she is working her ass off for you and you can't rely on typical Mormon gender roles when you're not in a TRD situation you're not a TRD dad you can't have a TRD wife you moving forward in this episode we get to watch Macy have a launch party for her brand baby mama at this point Whitney and Macy who at the beginning of the series were pretty tight are at odds and Whitney is absolutely icing out Macy for some reason and Whitney is not at the launch which everybody is in shock because we thought they were close at this point we at the launch of Macy's business and Whitney is nowhere to be found all the girls are like are you serious they were besties at the start of the series and now Whitney's really going to ice out every single member of the group especially it's [ __ ] when Macy was the only one who was consistently always loyal to Whitney at Macy's party the DJ does a countdown to the launch of baby mama and the girls decide that if Whitney's not there by the end of the launch countdown they are all unfollowing Whitney back so that's kind of a stupid thing they do Jen only stays at the baby launch mom party for like literally 20 minutes and then leaves because her hubby is sick I think he's just scared of her being around these women at this point then we watch Taylor go into labor with her third child Dakota Vlogs the thing because he wants to be like family vloggers and it's so cringe to watch like bro you are not Cola brand I'm so sorry and the fact that you wish you were is horrifying he is such a SLE ball I hope she leaves him then the girls meet up at Classic Fun Center to hang out as sort of the end of the series and I love that they're at Classic Fun Center that just cracks me because that is my childhood shocker Jen doesn't show up to the roller skating party and of course all the girls are worried for her I've seen on Instagram that Jen is still posting Zach so I think they're still together like what a year later that means that maybe he went to med school I hope she gets enough money off of this opportunity that she feels confident enough to leave cuz that might be the problem and then in a shocking Twist of events Whitney shows up to the roller skating party basically my conclusion is Whitney wouldn't show up to her own best friend's brand launch but will show up to a random ass birthday party at Classic Fun Center I think this is the final nail in the coffin that solidifies Whitney as the villain and that is all eight episodes of The Secret Lives
