[Music] well college football is here the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers are kicking off the season tomorrow night the Golden Gophers are hosting the North Carolina Tar Heels Minnesota has a new starting quarterback a transfer from the University of New Hampshire Max brosmer and head coach PJ Flex says he cannot wait for the season to get started I love this football team I love the depth of this football team I love the competition of this football team uh we have more competition this year in in 2024 than we've had since I've been the head coach here at Minnesota and that's a credit to our staff our recruiting the players the way they've kind of Taken on this whole year all the action starts at 7 tomorrow night between the Golden Gophers and the Tar Heels at Huntington Banks stadium and the University of Iowa hawkey are ranked 25th in the country coming into week one the Hawkeyes are hosting the Illinois State red birds this weekend Iowa has two key players coming back from injury starting quarterback Kade mcamera and tight end Luke Lee head coach Kirk fence will not be on the sidelines on Saturday due to a self-imposed ban from a potential NCAA level two recruiting violation Seth Wallace will be the interim head coach for the first game coach baren says winning in college football is harder than ever and they have to be ready to go every single week but I think just you know good effort obviously playing funy sound and not doing things are going to beat us that good start starting point then if we get a little momentum going and get you know hit a couple plays that's always a good thing too it's usually what it takes for offensive production the Hawkeyes and the Red Birds kick off at 11: on Saturday morning at kinck stadium and the Big 10 conference has some new teams this season University of Oregon UCLA USC and the University of Washington and in the Big 12 Conference the Iowa State Cyclones host the North Dakota fighting Hawks for the first game of the season the team has 18 of its 22 starters back including its sophomore quarterback Roco back he broke Cyclone freshman records for completions passing yards and touchdowns head coach Matt Campbell says this team has been putting in the work for seven months now but the work is not done yet you're going to evaluate it so much more here in the in the coming the coming months and weeks because now there's a result a tangible result to uh the time the effort the energy that you spend into it and not all results will be great um and how you respond to it is defining of who you are and who you become the Cyclones and the fighting Hawks hit the field at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon at Jack T stadium and four teams are joining the Big 12 Conference this season including Arizona Arizona State Colorado and Utah
