what's going on everyone Chris from pick dogs.com here with your free pick in the San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks major league baseball match up going down Thursday September 5th 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscrib to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks the San Francisco Giants sending out Blake Snell for the start in this one while the Arizona Diamondbacks will send out Merill Kelly and Kelly you know in his last three outings has really struggled he's given up a combined 16 runs 14 earned over 16 and a third Innings of work you know you look at the erra over that three start stretch he went from a guy that had a 2.43 erra after his first start back from injury to now at 4.30 in his in coming into this start a 7.71 erra over that three start stretch and an 8.02 FIP suggests that Kelly's slightly lucky to even have a 7.71 ER in that three start stretch so you look at those numbers and you think well man how is how is Arizona going to compete with that well the thing is is that the Arizona Diamondbacks have been able to lift up Kelly in a lot of those games to the point where he didn't take the loss in any of those games he actually got a win against the Boston Red Sox but the offense has been playing so well behind him that even though Kelly is struggled and given up six home runs in those outings the the three games resulted in a one-run loss to the Tampa Bay Rays 8 to7 a two-run loss to the LA Dodgers 8 to6 and a win over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway 7 to5 so that offense is playing really well behind him now Blake Snell yes is one of the best pitchers in baseball since his return from the injury one of the best pitchers in baseball since the All-Star break but he also got to keep in mind the three starts that Snell has had at home over his last seven starts re as a 1.42 ER have come against the Colorado Rockies Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins where he's given up one run combined in those three home starts over 19 and third Innings of work that being said you take those three teams and you look at their Road numbers against left-handed pitching this season the Atlanta Braves are 11th in batting average so that's a good start for for Snell where he had 11 strikeouts however the other two games against the Miami Marlins and the Colorado Rockies you take the Colorado Rockies game where he went six Innings a two hit shut out baseball had 15 strikeouts and the Miami Marlins who have been one of the worst teams in baseball against lefties all season long as it is and you look at their numbers against lefties on the road they are the bottom two teams in baseball 29th and 30th in terms of batting average against lefties so those were very favorable matchups but in the last two weeks against lefties for Arizona they are second in baseball and batting average hitting 317 tops in team Ops isolated power they are third with a plate appearance sample size of 160 PL appearances that it's one of the top 10 biggest sample sizes so it's not like it's only 10 or 20 plate appearances we're talking about 160 plate appearances over the last two weeks so I think there's value here with the Arizona Diamond Backs I'm going to take a shot with Arizona and the plus money in this one and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those a pick dogs premium while you're pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
