49ers v Jets Post Game RANT 🔥

oh what a start to the season your San Francisco 49ers beat the breaks off the New York Jets wow wow wow wow no CMC no problem the 49ers man putting the league on notice what a great way to start the season it was a long wait and we are finally here and I got this young man right here next to me goodlook young man I don't know who he is but we to do some next here we [Music] go all right welcome back to last second Sports where we are giving you our take down to the last second and it's the the first postgame show of the season and I got my guy David with me looking 10 years younger with no facial hair what's up David oh man what a game what a way to start this bad boy uh just a good be good to be back with you man good to be back doing these postgame shows awesome to do it off of a big win Prime Time only game going last game of the week I got my Iowa beer because my Iowa State Cyclones Brock py Iowa State Cyclones beat George KD Iowa Hawkeyes this weekend I'm gonna pour that bad boy we're gonna start talking ball oh yeah here we go baby man what a great way to start the season and it started out a little shaky because before the game we got noticed that CMC was not going to play now I don't know if this was something that the 49ers knew and then they were trying to act as if he was going to play CMC sure seemed confident himself that he was going to play I didn't add this to the topic list but we talked about it regardless so let me let's talk about it here CMC not playing 49ers route Jordan Mason looks phenomenal and this is an injury that started at the end of last year has now re flared up during this training camp we were there when it happened and now we've gotten word that he might not play next week with how good things look today should the 49ers just consider maybe putting him on IR 100% I mean I think they consider it I don't think it's and so that's the idea that I think you didn't put this on there but you did there's a question that I had about was this offense going to be able to run this run game gonna be able to play with Jordan Mason I think you have no idea how many texts I was getting all night and I'm living in Minnesota I'm getting Vikings fans Packers fans friends from back from Iowa you know who are big pretty fan things like that or like Bree Hall fans um they're like this dude's for real this dude's got juice this dude's like he's Trucking people they're afraid to hit him they're like and and what was amazing about a lot of Jordan Mason's runs was that it was in between the tackles like it was and he was he was looking for contact he was bruising people he was abusing people and so yeah my thing is look I I told people pump The Brak CMC was almost MVP of the League last year and you're go into Minnesota next week hey we lost there last year right Sam darold's the MVP candidate already okay so you gotta be worried about that um but the but I I think that whether you go on IR it'd be nice to open up a spot I think you got the Rams the Rams are beat up right now they got no NOA they got a bunch of get their offensive Line's almost all injured think this is one of those things where you trust what you just saw against what everybody thought was one of the best if not a top three defense in the NFL the ners had their way they just scored too many field goals right but they also played pretty conservatively at the end just to be safe this the Niners make no mistake dominated this Jets defense tonight yeah they they most certainly did and the reason that I I put this on there is you know they it sounds like they've already made the decision before the game started that he likely wasn't going to play next week because they they brought it up already like ah you know there's a good chance he doesn't play in week to either so if that is the case now now here's the hard part though is that you only have so many IR spots and so many guys you can bring back so it just depends on how bad you need that roster spot but what I want to say is is that Mason after tonight if there was any question or any hesitation it's like well now you're good like clearly you're good I just want CMC to be right and coming off of season last year where I don't know how many times we did a post game show we're like dude how many times is he going to touch the ball at some point man like get somebody else in there Mason's a capable back well now coming off of a a long season for CMC at 28 years old it's clear that maybe it would have been nice to hold some of those Touches for him last year right high and size 2020 but here we are so why not ease him in and if if it means putting him on IR if that is the best thing for him I just don't see this injury that lingered all offseason technically started the year prior getting better in just one week so why even risk anything when you've got good things going and the schedule is very very favorable to start the season well and like you said Jesse there's a lot of questions that you know you were going to get to that's all Dov Tales into the CMC decision and I think yeah you pump the brakes on overreacting to one game um I I did think I I wouldn't say Aaron Rogers [ __ ] the bed but I would say Aaron Rogers um I think people need to pump the brakes I what he's going to be this year I think he he looked slow he made some bad decisions he had some drops from his guys but I still think this is a legitimate team they come in on Monday Night Football had a lot of teams picking the Jets a lot of teams picking the Jets to cover after that I think that you get a trust Jordan Mason he had he had 28 carries tonight and that with that Joe's the next the next closest with DEA with eight okay so um think Jordan Joe Mixon at 30 carries and then Damen Pierce had three it was pretty close to that type of ratio like Kyle clearly showing that he is willing to you run you know this Workhorse and I think you go into Minnesota next week run defense is much worse okay and I just don't see any reason any reason why you should they should go to CMC too early let them heal see what's happening have him come back after the the Patriots game and he'll be good yeah Jay this is exactly why I wanted guaranteed money not because he was hurt then but because you just don't know what can happen I mean 100% imagine imagine the 49ers at the end of this season and and who knows how it's going to play out we're talking about week one here right but let's say CMC had no guaranteed money struggles to be healthy All Season Jordan Mason looks as good as he did tonight it's like well no we're not going to pay you anymore you can leave no more guaranteed money we're moving on this is exactly why a guy like CMC and Trent Williams by the way do want that money you just never know what can happen this league moves very very quickly this is exactly why CMC wanted to get paid I don't think it was a premeditated he wasn't injured or anything like that but this is a reason why these guys want to get paid Dave barklay says so what do we think bad off season Good Start not a good start a great start a great start uh Samir says CMC plus Mason is the best running back room too soon no not at all no not too soon at all not too soon as long as CMC is even close to CMC not too soon Dave barklay says can you imagine CMC and Mason together no but it'll look great uh brother Bob says Moody you're right I'm wrong you're not buns anymore hey great night for Moody man great night from Moody Dave barklay says Colin stopping the run up the middle too it's about time yeah there's there's a lot of good to gleam from this game and daza says o line and Rundy played well which is good okay great comments because it kind of brings us to the next point you said one question you had going into the game was and it was a late addition right how well can they run the ball without CMC yeah I think you got it your your answer and as a resounding uh yes or they can run it great abs Absolut absolutely and I was going to say CMC and a ham sandwich is the best running back room in the NFL like let's be real about that okay like CMC and Jordan Mason it's not even close and I I and you know it was a question I thought Mason will perform well I mean so well that I actually had I picked him up on Fantasy last week I played him over Garrett Wilson and Brandon auk in my Flex I did think he could you know be productive I didn't completely think he would do exactly what he did right and I think what you're seeing there too is also the other question that I had that or answered questions is how's the O line gonna hold up there were some hiccups early with some pass protection for sure but in that run Game Boy uh this four of the longest runs they had all night were right behind py um I I think think that that it's so refreshing now that you can actually run to the right side of the offensive line and you saw a lot of Jordan Mason having success on both sides of the line particularly on the right side I just think that that boats very well so my question about is the o line gonna hold up uh there's still questions I don't think that's fully answered yet um can they can this run offense produce at a high level with Mason without CMC I think the answer is yes um and you know the other question I had is about the run defense we talked about this all year you know we talked about this all offseason just like um it was putrid it was putrid and it was it was the reason why they fell apart near the end of the year after Eric Armstead went out after Cleveland furl went out um looks so much better Malik Collins just played out of his absolute mind looks like it's going to be another one of those Charles of minue pickups uh and I I'll tell you this the questions aren't answered there but boy that helped answer it quite a bit yeah most certainly it's it's I saw multiple people and you said it as well you played Mason fantasy I was down quite a bit going into tonight and my opponent had Greg Greg zerline and Garrett Wilson I picked up Mason because CMC was a late scratch picked up Mason and had Debo I ended up winning by S two points okay you heard it here first 49ers are winning the Super Bowl because Jesse won by less than a point because of picking up Jordan Mason just just get tickets to the parade right now I just throwing it out there and I will be an attendance for the NFC championship game again which is a guaranteed win David and I will be there okay questions I had two of them really how would the run defense hold up and and you talked about it as well but this is something that last year when we looked at the run defense it wasn't often that we got to see the run defense really tested because the 49ers were blowing a lot of teams out however in the few games where things got close the run defense was very shaky at times okay now they lose Eric Armstead this off season they go in and add a guy like Malik Collins played phenomenal today by the way they have some other changes along the defensive line and the biggest thing for me was no Dr Greenlaw no hunga it's like okay well you're G to get tested we we won't have all the answers but you're certainly gonna get tested with Bree Hall on the other side Bree Hall is one of the better running backs in the game if CMC is the best Bree Hall might be the second best he's a very very good player and he's a Do-it all back man this 49ers run defense couldn't have been more impressive to me what a great way to start completely answered that question at least for week one and then the other question obviously is the o line you know we know that during uh run plays or or in the Run game they can be dominant at times but it's can they protect Brock pie now I don't think the Jets without reick have the best defensive pass rush but they have a good enough one to test at least some of these interior guys and I feel like the 49ers offensive line did a really really good job so for me both the questions I had were completely answered by the 49ers great job by them yeah and I think this is the thing of the run defense you mentioned Bree Hall Bree Hall's no like I mean he was operating last year with the worst quarterbacking that maybe the NFL's ever seen I mean honestly that sounds hyperbolic but it's it's pretty true I been said the same thing tonight um and his ability to get volume and his able to get like yards he they said oh he couldn't he couldn't produce in the Red Zone well that's because they're never in the red zone and they all keyed in on him with like eight nine guys in the Box Breeze Hall's legit right there's a reason Bree Hall is going like number one in fantasy right like he's a he's a dog he's a Workhorse and I don't they and Bree Hall got some some nice plays in there no doubt about it right um but what they were able to do in neutralizing that especially after Garrett Wilson got started with some weird coverages and things like that I felt like they just went to their bread and butter they had a couple you know misplays but boy I that run defense to me uh makes me feel a lot better going into Minnesota Aaron Jones looks pretty healthy looks pretty spris still early in the season you know you're gonna have the Rams with Kiren Williams and you're gonna have the Patriots um with uh ra Andre um but yeah I think it votes well yeah and and I've I've seen uh a lot of people a couple in this chat but a lot on Twitter actually and some DM talking about it as well really kind of questioning Bosa I mean listen I know that Bosa Bosa didn't necessarily take over the game but what were your thoughts on on B people are saying he's overpaid here we go again he's not doing anything did you have a similar thought or or just any thoughts about both in general early on and I will say it's hard when you're not watching the all 22 it's hard when you're just watching because you're you're keying in but then you want to watch the whole play right so you can't play it back you can't do those things I will say this there were definitely times where Tron Smith was holding I get that it wasn't so every time though when you see an offensive line from that angle with the arm like that if they're not holding over here and the guy does and and Bosa is very famous for doing those you know like hook moves underneath that by rule as long as they're not like like if the defensive end puts his arm underneath like they're not goingon to call that and I think that bosa's got to figure that out um and let's put this there's no conspiracy against the 49ers the 49ers got plenty of calls the Jets had some calls that that went against them vice versa right Bose is a dog right obviously but I would like to see a i it it took a little while for that engine to get running hot and it took a little while last year too let's be honest and we need if we're only rushing four and the Niners love to do that they love to predicate their defense and you want to do that they have to be able to trust that there's a little bit more disruption than I think there was tonight earlier but I'm not panicking yeah I you know I I guess I didn't really pay attention either way to to Bosa like I I guess if they had lost you know maybe it would have been a topic for me to bring up but I didn't look at it like oh my God like they're just overpaying Bosa man he just can't get anything done I felt like there were times that he definitely help pressure the the one early in the game had a great great pressure early in the game and then I think there were a couple times he was probably held again we I'll watch the all 22 and make a decision there but I thought Bosa was fine and and really the run defense as a whole was good which means Bosa was a part of that as well I gotta imagine so it is hard to single out one player and I know that they're paying Bosa a lot of money and you expect sacks and all these things listen I I don't want to be the guy to come back later and be like well we should have noticed these things I mean just because we were winning you know here go we were masking these problems I'm the first one to call out like hey I don't care if we won I see this as an issue I don't necessarily see it as an issue um I I actually look at it and I got a comment later and I'll I'll save it but I think for as bad as Bosa played um I'm I'm fine with it I guess I just you know a lot of people really had issues with his play tonight and I guess I wasn't one of them so yeah and he also played really well against the run there were a lot a lot of times where sometimes Bosa can you just like any defensive ENT any Edge rusher you can kind of fall into overp Pursuit issues in the Run game I actually thought Bosa did a great job tonight I think he was a big part of it um in containing and um there was many times where he was being very disciplined moving down the line uh making sure he's that last person on the you know just kind of with the choke hold or the bottleneck and in between the tackles I thought it was I thought a lot of the stuff early on a little overhyped even Isis hey at the beginning of the game it's like it sure would be nice to see both Sly show up um but I think he did for the most part uh gray fox says I want you to get the word out we uh that we back up yes yes sir listen I very very happy I've been under the weather since Friday and that game definitely brought out the energy in me it was much needed very very sure I I just think look letter of the law sure but what he looked like he did he he caught the ankle inadvertently afterwards he just what I just don't know what these guys are supposed to do you got Joan Jennings is an absolute I'm abusing the word dog I've said it about three times already I'd be criticizing my kids for using the same words over and over but Jaan Jennings I mean he is a tough dude to bring down you're going to tackle him in in motion it's not like he was like just I just think if they find that kid for that play I think that's bogus yeah I mean it's tough I don't I don't know if it is off the letter of the law I mean when I Envision a hip drop I I Envision like you're you're catching somebody from behind you're grabbing a hold of them and then dropping down on their heels I felt like this was more like him coming from a side angle and just kind of grabbing a hold and and dropping down but I I don't know I mean that rule there's so much uh that goes into it I'm not quite sure I don't think it was a dirty play though if that's the question you're asking flave says both of your favorite draft picks ever Moody looks way more smooth this year not trying to kick 40 yard field goal 70 yards let's go yeah that's a very good point listen I I'll always give him flowers there were multiple times last year I gave him flowers my biggest thing is he still missed a kick in every single playoff game so all all assess him as being better when we get to the playoffs and he's like drilling everything the way that our old kicker was but yes he looked awesome today great to see it the only thing I've ever said about Moody is just that and I know people seem to I'm not saying this is youf but people seem to and we haven't actually been obsessed about it I haven't said like I don't talk about that often but when it comes up with value I don't even want to talk about it but that's the only thing because you have Brandon Aubrey's like the best kicker in the world right now that was a udfa you have Joshua cardi uh who's a rookie for the Rams who's doing great who was drafted I think what the fifth or sixth round like just anyway so moody awesome I love it good for you I love the it comes down to Value sometimes it's not that this player was bad it's just why the value is off the Val you know and and it's funny because and the 49ers did at least so far Moody's been been great um you know to start the season but the Patriots took a kicker the round later and he's already off the team so exactly you know it's it's like with so many unrestricted free agents and you look at the best kickers in the NFL most of them are undrafted free agents like that's how they made their way to the league it's still hard to justify I mean he doesn't he can't just be really really good my whole point was if you're going to take a kicker that high it's not about Moody it would have been about any kicker it's they got to be a top five kicker so maybe he'll be that maybe he'll be that and the other thing we can stop talking about Moody but another player is that third round this year they take Dominic puny he was one of my players of the game uh dominant in the Run game like yeah you don't hit on all them the 49ers haven't but the chances of hitting on somebody who could be a starting offensive lineman yeah I'm going to take that well and there were starting offensive lineman that were taken in that round last year so there you go William vennett says is this the first game without CMC and 30 plus points yeah they said that he's missed two games since he's been here I think one of them was week 17 or week 18 last year when everybody sat out I don't think he's actually that I can remember I don't think he missed any games no yeah so technically yes he missed that game but everybody was sitting uh daza says have teams figured out Debo in the Run game eight for 23 yards seems to be continuing on from him in the Run game late last season I can answer that Debo's been best in the Run game when he's used as a decoy misdirection as a guy who's lining up all over the field Debo has never there's never been a time there have been times that he's he's taken the ball out of the back field but very rarely are you lining him up in a single back formation where he's he's just being a true running back right it's it's and and and the reason why he's so dangerous is that when you're use him that way you're thinking that's the way he's gonna be used and granted he can get his Yak he's a tough dude but I think you saw tonight when Debo attempted to do the same things that Jordan Mason did who got the better results who got the better results yeah I mean Mason yes of course Deo is a wide back he's not you know and so I don't think Deo also practiced this much when we were at training camp we were only at two I know you went to more than I did you were more than I did they ever run any plays with Debo in that formation I didn't see it not like not like that um you know I I always thought that Debo and and there were times you know that two years ago or whatever three years ago where he was really good and and they did it out of necessity but Debo has always been at his best I think more on the end of rounds and that type of stuff because what you want to do with Debo is you want to get them on the edge and have him face Corners one-on-one those are the guys that don't want to tackle them I mean how many times did we see tonight a COR Corner tackle Debo and come up lame s Gardner twice uh I think we saw with uh with uh whoever their their nickel Corner DJ yeah DJ Reed it happened to I mean it seems like every time a corner has to tackle Debo it's it's a problem like these guys genuinely get hurt they're not used to tackling guys like Debo Samuel oneon-one on the edge players that run without much Brute Force at the wide receiver position so I think that's when he's at his best but when you make him run up the middle those guys are big and strong man and Debo's not anything that they haven't faced on a regular basis so it's it's hard for and and the other thing is when Debo's in the back field most of the time he's getting the ball and so it's pretty obvious what's about to come they just key in on him and it makes it hard for him so yep uh brother Bob says Hey Now Moody still hit the upright and got lucky yeah he did I I joked around on Twitter I said Moody called the bank shot there I guarantee it so but that was a 53 yard listen I don't you know yeah and he hit the inside I mean it's it's field goal man yeah it happens uh notorious gab the biggest juice fan in the world he says acknowledge juice yeah juice is is great man I I do love juice and and he was one of the keys to my game was was him KD and CMC at the time uh I thought those three could have big games now it ended up being Mason instead of CMC but I think KD played well juice I think making a big catch there certainly cryptic says I hope iuk is just rusty but got to have those catches pretty look comfortable minus one throw tackling was superb o line blocked we looked good and Samir says please rank all team captains from most to least on winning impact today maybe a tier list I dude I can't even remember all the captains right now too yeah yeah they've got like 97 captains so uh but all right all right all right I do want to take this time because we saw some people showing love to other players mainly notorious gav giving love to juice who was one of my players but give me a player or two or you know what go crazy they won they look dominant give me some players that you want to give some props to for how they played today yeah I got a list I mean I kept it at no more than six but I said hey um I mean obviously we've talked about Jordan Mason I don't think we need to say a whole lot more he was the top of my list but every I mean he's been talking about for good reason but I do want to talk about Dominic puny you got a rookie third round pick coming out of KU play tackle in college moved into the inside um no had no problem with that never was like I don't want I I meant to be a tackle um four of the longest friends they had all night right behind puny um I gotta go back and look at it closer but boy uh he looks like he belongs Malle Collins we talked about him uh I think that guy's gonna go I I just knock on W stay healthy brother because they they need him dep is a little bit of an issue and he did a great job de mo didn't hear his name called a lot one time Garrett Wilson had a great catch but Deo was in perfect coverage it was just it was a good throw by Rogers and a better catch by Wilson and he's you know right there sticky and everything else you know the touchdown to Lazard Deo had handed him off to TIG and they safeties screwed it up I mean and he had the tip that ended up being an intercepted exactly and so he's all over the place Joan Jennings I mean the dude just to make plays man and uh the last guy uh I gotta say is All Pro Fred um Fred Warner he just he set the toner from from from jump right like he and you can never say like there's times where Fred is everybody has a bad game tonight Fred like you could just his energy his intensity uh his leadership you know making the call I mean you could just he got those guys together and he kept that intensity up all night and uh I just can't say enough about all pro Fred man no definitely and and it seems like a lifetime ago when the game started and he set the tone and and punched the ball out of Bree Hall hands I mean that really set the tone for the game and Fred Warner without Dre Greenlaw you know I I wanted to see that too not that I thought he would be bad but you just knew that he had to do more and that sounds crazy because he does so much right but you knew he had to do more he did more if it if it was possible for Fred Warner the best linebacker in the game to elevate to another level tonight he elevated to another level and I feel without green law like that's gonna have to be a consistent thing and and he did fantastic I had almost the same list I I did have moody on my list which we already gave love to you have to give love to Moody after a six for six day but also how about Sorenson I know he's not a player but first time calling the defense first time ever he's ever he's called defense and I feel like he put together a really really good game plan for tonight those boys looked ready and you have to credit him I mean we've seen it often and we'll see how it goes throughout the course of the season but we've seen some really good defensive coordinators who ended up being head coaches struggle a little bit early in their careers calling plays here and one thing maybe a guy behind the scenes is Brandon Staley uh I was watch I was watching a great interview uh which is hilarious by DraftKings it was one of their kind of Zack galanakis uh spin-off lookalike dudes it was was interviewing K and who's the next opponent right and K and Brandon Staley are like best friends from the days of the Rams and it's be really interesting they have that that combo of Nick s and Brandon Staley going into US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and having a guy like Staley and nobody knows K better uh and so it's gonna be interesting to see if there's any wrinkles um that we see that we might not have seen Deni it in their preparation for a Vikings team that the the ners should out Cass not match but I thought that last year too and they've got dangerous pieces right so yeah they they do and and we'll talk about that game throughout the week here but I do want to throw this out there because um you know you said you had made a statement about Aaron Rogers earlier listen first first game back from from the Achilles first game really ever with the Jets I think the 49ers just looked really good today I I don't want to give a cop out to the Jets like Oh Aaron Rogers will be better I actually thought a Rogers was fine tonight he made some Aaron Rogers esque plays and throws maybe he's not as mobile as he once was sure but as far as his arm Talent it's clearly there there were three throws that were just like dude you're one of the few guys that can make that consistently he's still a very good player in my mind and and I think that makes tonight what the 49ers did even more impressive because if if you had told me Aaron Rogers look like 90% of Aaron Rodgers Bree Hall this offense I would have said yeah it might be a tough night for this defense and it was not well I would also say the 40 did a great job because the the Jets offensive line of pass protection was actually pretty solid right like and and the fact that the defense did that never like they bent they didn't break and they rarely even bent that much they got the timely turnovers but those were turnovers that were not lucky like those were turnovers were forced by the 49ers right great play by Deo in very intentional like that punch was coming from a mile away like with Fred Warner um they they even despite not having the pass pressure they they they thought they could or maybe could I I just think that yeah I think Aaron Rogers I don't think he [ __ ] the bed I said before I thought he might um but I don't think he played well and I think um I don't want to diminish the victory but I don't see this Jets team I don't see them winning much more than seven games this year maybe I I can see them going eight and nine I think at most I I just don't see it yeah most certainly um I see some discourse around uh Brock pie in the chat listen I know he's the quarterback of the team um I know that he's early in his career I know that they're going to pay him big money next year so we want to have every game and every throw just analyzed under a microscope yeah I I can't do it all season like I'll I'll tell you what I see if it's worth talking about um I feel like down the list of things to talk about tonight Brock P's way way way down here and that's because he did exactly what needed to be done to win the game was it a perfect game no did he have some off throws sure but it's not this was a this is a very very good pass defense for one second of all no CMC and and to me it's not it's not about stats it's not about every throw throw in and throw out it's can you be timely in a game like this they didn't need him to be a superhero and for him to not play like a superhero one without CMC there I think a lot of young guys would try to do too much he did not he stayed within the confines of the offense and can you make time plays I felt like he did both of those fantastically tonight I have zero issue with what Brock did and I I want to go back to this guys we're talking about the Jets defense here the secondary the corners are some of the best corner the cornerback room in the entire NFL okay Brock pry actually there's a couple throws yeah I could go back and remember a couple of them that were nitpicky I don't remember any of them that were like that one where sober and uh Ronnie Bell were kind of in the same spot which is kind of a weird like I don't know what was going on there he probably shouldn't have thrown that one and there was one or couple but like quarterbacks aren't going to be perfect I actually thought pry did play well I thought he didn't make crazy turnover worthy plays I thought he played within the system I thought he evaded pocket pressure a couple times and and you know that Mahomes does this to him not you say like the the short game where a couple times where he's like pointing this right point and then he's going back just to get what he can right again we didn't talk about him as player of the game but if I look back on it I'm very pleased with the way Brock played uh I thought he played composed I don't think he got panicked I thought he and when you're running the ball as well as you are was very complimentary should have had a touchdown to auk right probably should have had you know that juice plays almost there right like you're going people box score Scout too much and I actually if I had anything critical you know I'm not a homer I'll talk about pretty I don't I don't think I really I don't think there was anything there in that game where I'm like oh yeah I gotta that that really wanted that one back here there but we chat all game long through texts was there even any mention of pry a good or I mean other than a couple good throws right we're like hey that was a really good throw there that you know uh really timely play there by pie I don't I mean there was nothing like there was one drive where it was like okay he overthrew one guy and then he had one squirly but other than that like who I don't know like I said it for me you don't need your quarterback to be a superhero every single game know what is available to you and play sometimes within the confines of what's needed and what was needed tonight was just playing solid and playing timely and he did both of those I think what Thomas was talking about there was one play where juice was out there and he sailed it right and that was a clear he that's a clear Miss right it's a bad throw right they also did convert the next play for a first down so it was like I I you're gonna have that you go if if he did that and then he compounded bad throws with mistakes or got frustrated or got down on himself or got The Yips because of it then I'd be concerned but I think we do have to understand that pitchers like walk people sometimes like can't find the strike zone for a couple like it's going to happen you know I I don't know what else to say for sure daza says 30 points was great but six field goals why weren't we converting more TDs hey my dad texted me he said why isn't this a blowout earlier on I said too many field goals and I'll be honest like I totally get Kyle's rationale but given another team with nine minutes to go with two-score game I I really felt up 13 with fourth and one you're running the ball down their throat I feel like and you go back the Super Bowl I know nobody wants to talk about that guys but like there are times when you have to develop a pattern of confidence in your team that says we've been you're just bullying them you sent me that like they're being bullies right you tweeted that up yeah you've been bullying them it's bully ball just go get that first down and you know what they might s a touchdown on that run and then the game is absolutely over and I just want Kyle to not and there are sometimes with Kyle you know how he is early in the game you saw Jordan Mason in the first series then it's back to Debo I'm like brother trust the guys you got here it trust the guys that do their job that's all I want to see Kyle do yeah Grant had a timely tweet I think it was like right after the Jets had scored a touchdown maybe and and kind of closed the Gap a little bit and he said enough a Debo I forget the timing on it but he said enough of Debo more Jennings more KD more Mason and then the next drive that's all they did was those three players just boom boom boom and they just cut through the defense like a Swiss army knife and yes it's like listen you know Debo was was a heavy game plan in the Super Bowl didn't work out for him tonight it's not like Debo was bad but you do have other players and and you know at times Kyle can be frustrating I'll say the the trick play I'm third and five it's like dude what early in the game that that was you know one of those situations where the game was close enough and you're doing a a a double end round and some craziness you lose yard yards it ends up being a 51 yard field goal attempt instead of a 47 yard field goal attempt when you could have just thrown the ball with Brock it's like just sometimes he gets weird and cute but ultimately I think Kyle called a really really good game yes but there were some times where it got squirly I I agree with that uh Dave barklay says puny green Collins Ward Floyd and Jennings those were his guys he wanted to give props to cryptic says the rund D was nice to see was it an anomaly oh that Rhymes uh I don't know I mean that's that's the season right week one is week one that's great um we'll see as the season carries but for me you were you you couldn't have played better like you couldn't have answered the question any better so for right now I feel really really good about this run defense and with green law hunga eventually coming back I feel even better long term so yeah brother Bob says Bosa needs to take over games with his salary I get it yeah not every game is going to be like the most game in the world either like I don't know yeah Dave barklay says that free play Aaron Rogers had a Lazard was money well no surprise that he hit Lazard on that one that's a guy that knows exactly what he should do when when uh Rogers gets you to jump offside it's it's also I think the defense there um the off sides was so bad that I thought I think they thought oh they're got to call this unabated at the quarterback they're absolutely at the at least at the line they kind of held up and then Deo rightfully handed off to to TIG and Tig and it just they you know they just they blew their coverage it was a completely blown coverage it it was a wide openen receiver by seven yards it wasn't that you know every quarterback's gonna make that throw yeah yeah and you know and Rogers historically has been great at that I mean that's that's what he does you know he's in a every game he's in a catch one and that's you know it's just what you live with uh Phillip David Davies that's a heck of a name says pie had a good throw to ba In The End Zone a great throw to ba in the end zone that was not a good throw that was a really really good throw yep yes I agree with you okay so we've watched week one I again no overreactions I put out a video after the Eagles and Packers game and I put out a video after last night's lions and Rams game just talking about the Fallout and and how these teams looked to me because these were the four teams that I think most of us coming into the season said hey these are the four teams that we got to look out for some people would say Dallas some people had Tampa whatever but for most people had these four teams and they happen to be playing each other yeah so I don't want to put too much into week one David but based off of what you've seen this weekend in the NFC is it still clear the 49ers are the team that everybody is looking up at to you I I would say it's still clear to me I picked the 49ers to be in the Super Bowl again this year that was that was my pick okay to face the Ravens now the Ravens we'll see what happens with them I don't know right um I I think it's from what I've seen there's nothing that I've seen here that brings me that would make me go back on my prediction I think the 49ers are absolutely the team to beat in the NFC I think that there're it's it's not a cakewalk and I've never been like that um I think there's a lot of competi in fact I've been one of those guys that says hey guys there's teams in the NFC you need a l even the the Dallas Cowboys are not a are not a cakewalk everybody like oh you know we all love to hate the Cowboys right you know and granted but yeah Lions I think are the lions are clearly the team with the talent that they have on both sides of the ball and the the and the energy that they play with um is the team that I'd be worried about the most Rams are really beat up right now um and the Packers and the I'm gonna be honest with the Packers and Eagles I'm not really worried about them um neither I think that these are teams that are not I'm not saying they they could I mean the 49ers could go to Green Bay and lose right it's a game it's in December it's on the road things happen right I respect the Packers I I tell all my f fellow Packers fans I think the Packers are gonna win the division I still think or excuse me gonna go to the playoffs but lose to the Lions right um but the Eagles uh I'm sorry man like your secondary like Darius Slay people are talking about James Bradberry Darius Slay is in trouble okay like these these guys are getting old um the line nobody's scaring anybody in that linebacker back in core um the Packers as well like these are not defenses that that K Kyle's going to he's not worried about these guys and um the lions are the only team the Rams I feel like Kyle can't wait with the the linebacking core that they have right now there is not good I thought Byron young looked really good I thought Kobe Turner is a nice little Edge player or a utility man along the line but other than wasn't that the run defense is and and the secondary opportunistic at times but boy travius white is washed um I I just I I really feel that the ners we've been saying thisy but we've been saying this for years the 49ers have the best roster in the NFC on paper and they played like a team that has the best roster I you guys they just gave the Jets a beat down I don't give a [ __ ] what you I don't give 13 points it should have been more right if Kyle didn't want to like and that was without Christian mcaffry was out the b basically the MVP of the NFL okay Brandon auk just came back you could tell Brandon iuk By the way Brandon iuk was was little winded Trent Trent Williams was taking an IV right like they're not there yet they're not ready yet I you could say you look like auk's a little like beefy too you know like which I kind of like but uh um his his routes look good he was getting open gotta get you those Ball but like this these guys aren't even at their best right these they don't like you said no green law kuanga no green law um I I just think the best is in front of them they just got to see this through they got to see this through and the team that's waiting for them I think I'm still going to stay with his prediction is in the AFC that's who it's that's that's what it's going to be I could talk about NFC teams all I want it's it's who's waiting for them in the Super Bowl if it goes that far yeah I mean I I think after week one the 49ers showed that they're they're still the team and and they're the team until they're not the team I do still think that those NFC teams got better and we saw once it got tight and got in the playoffs it's it it's thin margins you know as close as the 49ers were to winning a super they were that just as close to losing to the Packers in the divisional right and and it's a game of inches and that's what it's going to be I mean those are going to be hardfought games and they're going to have to beat some good teams but they're also a very very good team I still think it's clear after week one p downers are the best team in the NFC the Chiefs are still the best team in the NFL right and they are until they're not so yep 100% uh Jets gang didn't we have a hat bet brother I'm pretty sure we do so I'm going to need you to go get a for diner Hat show up in the chat when you're ready and I'll bring you on stage and uh we'll all clap at you being a a new 49er fan man you can join the bandwagon but I'm pretty sure that we definitely had a hat bet so you know there we go um but yeah I I agree with you the NFC they're they're the best team now listen I I don't we're not trying to be Debbie Downer on a a fantastic night but there are still some things to improve on so it is is there anything for you David that you want to see this team improve on as as they work forward past week one yeah I said it first just to be catch the ball um no uh I I um here's my thing you you know me I've said this on the TL I've said this to you in confidence to I'm a Kyle Shanahan fan I've long said I think that there are few coaches equ and Kyle did call um a good game but I also think you had to credit the players in these situations for executing what they were doing I think there were some times where it got cute um I want Kyle to trust his players and sometimes I feel like it starts out a little slow uh and there's times where I feel like it gets a little conservative well maybe I should let's just play not to lose you know and and instead of playing to win I want to see Kyle kind of let it all hang out what I don't want to see Kyle do is run a reverse to Debo on Third and five um in in enemy territory when you've been pushing the ball down the field um I also you know what I'd like to see is I we talked about things that I hope hold up um I I want to see DeAndre Campbell not on this team and I I don't mean to be like at least inactive I just I feel like there's gonna be some games and I know Dre green L's coming back and I know D winners is hurt I I mean I get it it's tough like there's but boy I call this like dandre Campbell I they picked on him quite a bit and then they had there's times where they had him like against Garrett Wilson what I mean DeAndre Campbell can't cover a running back like this is I just he's going to be a big liability in coverage he's he was a liability last year it's it's it's something that I'm really worried about because when push comes to shove defenses just like Kyle does to linebackers they're gonna try to put Campbell in a blender and they're gonna pick on him so I really want to see that getting tightened up um and I just don't want to see the cuteness with dvo I want to see Debo I said I would I don't mind him getting fed and as that the wide back but I want to see it in the context of who he is lining up as a offensive weapon not as a guy that's lined up ISO in as a running back um with pretty in the back field yeah absolutely and and I want to add too you know is as great as it looked it could have been so much better you know that's CRA it's crazy to say because when you really look at it people were talking about Bose earlier okay let's add him let's let's say Bosa didn't have his best game all right fine but neither did I he he didn't look like auk tonight um Trent Williams for is first of all shout out to Trent for playing all game after getting paid and and missing all the camp but there were times where like maybe he didn't look at his best either right and it could have been fatigue what have you they they didn't have CMC um and and they're getting players back so some of the best players on this team didn't play near their best and it still looked that good that's crazy to say I mean a lot of players stepped up and did what they needed to do so yeah I would say you know in the Super Bowl some of their Superstars didn't play like Superstars I would say tonight some of their Superstars didn't play like Superstars now the Jets are not the Kansas City Chiefs and week one is not the Super Bowl so it didn't matter but you do need your Superstars to play like superstars in the biggest games and that's what I want to see from them going forward in some Big Time games Prime Time games what have you but again this is being very nit on a night that is celebrated the for ners start out one and0 and look amazing absolutely Dave barklay says I do predict the Bucks in the playoffs though sleeper well I don't they made it last year I don't know if they can be a sleeper after making it last year he says not saying they threaten us just an outside curve I feel you uh cryptic says we all knew Mason had the potential and he lived up to it if you were coaching would you rush CMC back or wait until he's 100% healthy we talked about it very very early cryptic I don't think you were here um we said if it means he needs to go on IR I feel very very comfortable with that happening I want CMC at his best and when CMC comes back I don't need him touching the ball more than 15 times a game for the first three four five games until he's fully eased in and ready to go Mason is is that good and I would say too what I'd like to see with Mason and he showed tonight a little bit I think he only had a couple targets but don't be afraid to use Jord Mason in a CMC role again there's only one CMC but Jordan Mason I don't think you say he's a different animal so to speak I he's worked really hard in the offseason about being a guy that can be a a utility back a three down back right um and Kyle didn't take him off the field hardly at all so this idea that like I I just I want and I I'd like to see that un unfold a little bit more and I'm sure it will this is the I mean I don't know how long they have this in the works like you know like John and Kyle say a lot of things in front of the microphone yes CMC says a lot of things in front of the microphone and then all a oh imagine everybody's surprised like I don't know if this was as big of a surprise as people thought I I'm just I'm not say conspiracy theorist I just I'm I just don't I don't buy that I think they were I don't yeah I don't think it was a surprise for the 49ers at all it was a surprise to us the way that they had talked and all of that iers have won so I think that Kyle's want to go in KOC is a really good coach U knows him really well from that that Shanah hen sty of tree right Brandon Staley KC best friends I think it's be interesting game Justin Jefferson Jordan Addison um Aaron Jones playing well Sam darnold a guy who the ners know really well um and an offensive line the Vikings have that like the Jets are pretty stout and pretty good in pass protection Christian Dara Brian O'Neal um should be interesting I just think that the 49ers gonna have their way with that defense Daniel Jones is the worst quarterback in the NFL Baran um and I think you're gonna see the Vikings come down to earth a little bit yeah I I think so as well I've got Behind Enemy Lines on Wednesday so we'll learn all about that team cannot that Dave
