College Football 25: Oregon State vs #12 Texas Tech - Week 4 | CPU vs CPU Dynasty, RFL CS7!

[Music] welcome everyone to LC Texas and Jones AT&T Stadium hope to the Texas Tech Red Raiders and this crowd as always will be Rowdy because they've been gearing up since early this morning we have a ranked versus unranked battle coming up here and you know how chaos can ensue if they start smelling an upset as we'll see a team from the Pack 12 the Oregon State Beavers taking on the 12th ranked team in the land the Texas Tech Red Raiders for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis David Po and Jesse Palmer with me got beavers will put total Lea to crank us up he'll return it nice job by the kickoff team everybody's stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the Red Raiders offense takes the field and as we look out on the field here comes the man the man who makes it all go and that's this quarterback yeah and he's big time that's why he's up for all these Awards he's he's known everybody knows exactly what he brings to the table he can run it he can throw it they're expecting a big day from this young fell the Red Raiders come to the line in the hurry up looking downfield it's Morton all kinds of room to throw that one in there and he breaks into the open and he slipped through the crowd and he'll house it touchdown Red Raider you want to talk about a great way to start the game and set the tone early it's so nice to have a quarterback just get himself into the game get himself established you make a couple throws you lead your offense down the field you score right off the bat could not have been a better start for that QB lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is good and it's seven nothing this offense Prides itself on going after you and they did with that long touchdown pass to finish off a two-play drive and here's the return good job by the coverage unit to stop the Return Man the beaver offense will get the ball for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this to the ground he's got it again still running at the 40 that's the kind of play that can really get you going as they have a first down at the 43 looking for a physical attack from the gun still on his feet at the 45 he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down they're getting this guy lathered up he's stopped at the 32 picks up 10 on the play and gets the first down and the Beavers come to the line with a new set of downs trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here a run up the middle is stopped for no game got got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 the inside handoff he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here back to pass it's go Branson fires downfield he's got an open man and he was looseing in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one they'll run it it's McMillan he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down they're going to test that run defense to the right here he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three ninth play of the drive coming up and this one will be tough third and long looking downfield and he needs a bunch man I love those guys that are willing to put their body on the line and he does it right here but just lays out that Ball's coming in you can see it from several yards out making that play laying out keeping the football from touching the turf great concentration great effort by the receiver desperately wanted to keep the ball but they did not pulls and fires complete that is not what they had in mind at all and it's going to be a safety you could tell the defense smelled it they knew exactly where they were on the field put the pressure on him got him down in the end zone safety baby so after giving up the dece on the safety now they'll be able to kick it away without a rush from the 20 on the return it's Anderson nice return there and he'll be dragged down at the 34 Oregon State takes over ready to send the offense onto the field that fourth down gamble didn't pay off on the last drive and it led to giving up a scoring Drive David yeah and everybody wants to go for it a four everybody wants that but your defense sometimes has to bail out your decision making we decided to go for it we didn't get it the defense Jesse didn't come up big and prove me right yeah not complimentary football no doubt but look this offense has been in these situations before so you got to come back out here take the field it's a fresh set of downs brand new Drive let's go out next two put some points on the board now they'll run the draw and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that the Beavers send out the punt unit first time we've seen their punt team this afternoon running it back it's Hudson pretty solid coverage there and they'll stop him at the 26 all right guys so here's the offense back on the field again [Applause] they'll try the run defense in the right spot they stop him after a gain of two to the 28 and the Red Raiders racing to the line in the hurry up looking to throw it's Morton he's got his man he's really close to that first down marker but they stop him just a bit short passing game very effective on second down what about here on third he'll keep it himself and they'll get it to the 39 yd line and they'll move the chains and here on first down let's see if they keep it on the [Applause] ground out of the gun they'll run it inside they'll pick up four second and Six coming quick Tempo here for the offense quarterback wants to throw on second down grabbed in the middle it's Valdez they get him down after he makes the catch a completion but not quite enough for the first down third down coming for this offense they'll try to get it through the air he's open on the right and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down shotgun fundamentals are so key he was like a short stop caught the shotgun snap and right away rifled it out of his hands like he was turning two that was beautiful what a job to lay out and make the catch let me tell you this senior quarterback can flat fit it in a tight window you always hear put it on the tight ends body Jesse but with this guy you don't have to all the time no he's got long arms Rees and he's athletic I mean this guy can jump he can go vertical he can go horizontal that my friend was a stab that was [Applause] incredible got it in the middle it's West and he's wrestled to the ground ball is at the 20 they'll try to convert this third and short on the ground going for the first down with the give to the tight end that just never had a chance as they controlled the middle of the field and stopped him in the back field on third down it's good [Music] [Music] after that last field goal Drive they're set to kick it away here he comes with the return and the returner goes down this drive will open from the [Applause] 15 the give to the back nudges to head for one out to the 16 they'll line up for a second down play that's the end of the quarter and Texas Tech is on top and we've come to the end of the first as we take a moment to check out the stats so [Music] far they are lined up and ready to go and get things started here in the second from the gun running back gets to give works his way ahead for three they'll spot it at the 18 line is set on third down to the air it's go Branson excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away the Beavers line up to punt it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll bring it back it's Hudson he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the punt return Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down oh he's looking to throw it's incomplete trying to little Razzle Dazzle there but it'll be third down if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum and the pressure gets to him down goes the quarterback and that is your job the o line has to protect their quarterback that's the most important position on the field you got to make sure you keep him upright you got to do a better job the Red Raiders will send out the punt unit to kick it [Applause] away not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch Oregon state has it back and here comes the beaver offense from the the gun give on the inside and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw hits that hole for four and gets it out to the 16 a third and long coming up here back to pass it's go Branson connection to the right they'll move move those chains getting it out to the 29 yd line and trying to get this drive rolling he wants to throw got it behind the line it's Hankerson the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage line getting set on second down fast motion from the offense off the play fake and this sophomore able to reach some havoc and get the sack this defense they are tenacious and you've got guys up front that are athletic and that are so strong and then can collapse the pocket you saw it right there in that play [Music] action this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long looking to throw and he needs a chunk play and he feels the heat coming and it burns him up another sack not a ton of play calls for third in California when you're on offense you know you're going to have to have your quarterback holding on to the football you really got to think about how you're going to protect them offensive coordinator may want to think about using more max protect schemes get more bodies in to give this quarterback a chance and the Beavers will try to pin them back with the punt he's got great speed that Nifty return sets up the offense and negates some of the yardage on the punt Texas Tech has it back and the Red Raider offense on its way to the field after a punt on their last possession they are set up in plus territory this time and honestly it wouldn't have mattered if they scored a touchdown their last possession you've got to be able to turn the page and see this as a brand new opportunity to go get points yeah and your defense has set you up from a position to get points right away now let's get this offense back rolling again create some momentum just get a few first downs and I'm in scoring position they're going to ride this running back not a lot there picks up one inside the 20 to the 19 and the Red Raiders headed quickly to the line grabbed behind the line it's Hudson he'll be brought down at the three yd line an explosive play in the passing game has him on the door First Step he wants to throw it and into the end zone he goes touch down Red Raider these guys are really hitting their stride in week four as they push out that lead look it's still early but we have some real distance being put on the scoreboard right now you do it's early but you got to find something positive right now everything going in the other direction so how are you going to respond when you've been hitting the mouth early in this football game got to find something positive quick they'll try to add another to their lead and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further we check in with Kevin coners what's going on Kevin terrific Showdown this week guys let's take a look at what's going on New Mexico state is ahead of this one this team plays a hard-nosed brand of football there in Los Cruses but they're a long way from closing this out they're up by 11 over Sam Houston your boy KC has you covered here in studio guys in case anything changes in this one and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere gives it to the back on the draw not a whole lot of room there three yds maybe second and seven got a little work done on first down now back to the line from the gun they'll try to impose their running game a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here unloads to the wide out he's got it finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down from the gun they'll try to impose their will and they picked up nine on first down it'll bring up second and short the give to the running back from the shotgun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple trying to pick up a first down try to get the Ed with a quick touch pass he's loose touchdown fever and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on them EAS when that receiver got free it was all over and it's so nice to have a receiver like this as a quarterback cuz you pad my stats I like those long touchdown passes where I just threw it really short and he did the rest of the work and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] drive and he'll bring it back and The Return Man is stopped and that'll leave it up to the offense on the next Drive first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning quarterback on the keeper real power running by this guy as he bangs his way to the 24 now on second and short after that pick up he's got his man tackled at the 29 let's give him five on that one well this offense knew coming into this game they wanted to try to attack the middle of the field in the passing game and they're able to execute the end route there [Applause] it'll be a first and 10 from the 29 he's going to pass works the middle of the field and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep him from getting the first down they'll throw it on first down caught over the middle it's Miller and he's brought to the ground but but not before he gets enough for the first down he's looking to throw it he makes the grab and I love when my quarterback sees Zone and knows exactly where to go with the football sees the wide receiver running the drag route knows when to throw it pulls the trigger for the easy completion and it'll be incomplete this is some physical pass defense went up top on second down that leaves him needing a yard here on third down got it in the middle it's Douglas they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down the Red Raiders come to the line with a fresh set of downs he'll come out throwing on first down got him in it's Douglas and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain after the short completion it's now second down finds his big tight end the off will quickly use a timeout I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job form tack he steps out of bounds but he's got a first down on the [Music] play so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty and the Red Raiders trying to pay off the threat on first and goal they'll throw it to the back on the screen and there were no creases or crevices to run through and they shove him out of bounds they've got it down to the three now it's second and goal wide receiver now comes in motion snags it and to the end zone touchdown Red Raider you know quarterbacks and receivers they develop confidence and chemistry as the game goes goes on these two right now are definitely on the same [Music] page lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead so it's a 73 yd touchdown Drive and they finish it up with a three yd scoring toss fielded In The End Zone it's Anderson rolling the dice to bring it out of the end zone did not work out as he stopped at the 13 Oregon State takes over ready to send the offense onto the field wants to throw on first down gets it out quickly how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the fake hit stick with him too looking for a man it's go Branson he's going to fire deep the pass Falls incomplete and that's how we'll finish this half first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connor in our halftime update gentlemen you've had yourselves a superb broadcast so far today in lck it's been a fun start to this one and this offense has really been the story they've opened up a sizable lead and unless something drastic changes things might get even more out of pain a combination of lethal efficiency and that offensive line has been the key they've mauled that defense and also just about broken their will with that said let's send it back to the guys at Jones AT&T Stadium he'll bring it out it's Wallace and the returner will be brought down Oregon state has it back and here comes the beaver offense down two possessions to start this third quarter they'd love to build some early momentum you ain't lying cuz you only got so many possessions here in the second half so now you're down I got to maximize every single one put your best plays together start this drive off on a good note yeah it starts right here obviously you can't get it all back on this drive but you can create that momentum you can create something special and some energy but it's going to start with this offense here executing at a high on second down looking again to throw Gra gra over the middle it's Clemens that play won't make the highlight real except in the coaches meetings as he works his way to the 39 [Applause] third keeps it on the boot leg throws to the wide out HS it in just gashing this defense a big Gainer to the 40 yd line wow and what a great job by that quarterback finding his open receiver on third down you know guys one of the most telling stats at the end of the game is third down conversion percentage if you're a great third down team it's invaluable to your offensive success and that's why teams drill third down so much of and quarterback receiver on the same page nice job seeing the Zone understanding the drag route concept easy pitch easy catch and oh he was Off to the Races after the catch and they finally drag him down that was a really nice catch and an even better run after the grab and get the ball to your playmaker what's good about having him in the slot is he can go either direction you can get him matched up on somebody that's not as fast and you watch he can run away from those linebackers or safeties trying to get to it and the quarterback will take a sack back at the 36 nothing too exotic about that Blitz right there that's just a middle linebacker coming right up the middle of the field in the teeth of that offensive lineman nobody accounted for him and he gets home and this offense just can't afford not to get the first down here already trailing big and the clock is not their friend the quick out open space at the 25 he's finally guided out of bounds and even with that kind of pickup they are still short in the first down they'll play it safe and send out the field goal unit splits the uprights good well the head coach decided to play it safe thr fourth in inches and Tred his field goal team out there and his field goal kicker just made him look like a pretty smart guy after putting up a three spot the kickoff unit set to go on the move from inside is five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Texas Tech ready to send the offense back onto the field to the ground with the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one the Red Raiders moving quickly to the line looking to throw it's Morton fires to the wide out he's got it out to the 35 yd line and a little extra breathing room with that 15yd [Music] pickup running back goes in motion looking to go up top on first down tip ball put it up for gron I thought he had it but somehow it slithered through his finger they go to the ground they'll give him a couple that leads him with third and eight they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and long trying to have a big completion here has no choice but to throw it away and it'll bring up fourth down and the Red Raiders will call on their punt team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away away signals for the fair Catch and that's where they'll put it in play just outside the 20 Oregon State takes over ready to send the offense onto the field it's always great to get points on a drive but it would behoove them to try to get a touchdown this time around Palmer they may have to get out of their comfort zone here too David a little bit and just start being more aggressive and take some chances but that's what's going to have to happen for them to win this game yeah and when you're losing obviously everything gets heightened everything becomes more critical this drive is crucial because you've got to cut into this deficit and put some and is sued down a defense Scoops it up and they're bringing it back defensive coordinators always preach swatting and batting at the football and trying to punch it out trying to dislodge the ball from the ball carrier and boy they did it right there [Music] they'll start this drive and snap it from the [Applause] 40 hold it finds his man on the left they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover to pick up the first wide out in motion to the air it's Morton got it set up on the outside at the 40 there he goes and they finally haul him down but not before the good catch and run hey man sometimes you get the perfect play call at the perfect time that time the defense blitzing offensive line allowed everybody to run up field and they slip in the running back screen and behind it there was nobody there to make a tackle and this offense generates a massive play they go to the draw he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County on Third and long hoping to throw beyond the sticks and he's got it touchdown Red Raider really nice job working the route getting himself open he was able to locate the football snag it out of the air and this guy now has five re touchdowns on the [Music] year they'll try to add another to their lead [Applause] exra and the extra point is good the lead is 19 let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connor Kevin what do you got boys if it's happening in college football we You' got eyes on it check this out San Diego State is down right now but this young man under center today has shown some Moxy we could see a Legend born in Snap Dragon stadium today he'll do it himself it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Cal just another week of college football where we've come to expect the unexpected fellas oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on on it for us he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and fast that run epitomizes a veteran Savvy senior who knows how to find space and the physical play there forces the incompletion on first down after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down looking for room it's Hankerson he picks up four that'll leave them with third and six trying to pick up a first down third it's a draw they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one the Beavers will putt this one away fourth time we've seen this guy come on to punt a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work Texas Tech has it back and the Red Raider offense on its way to the field they Unleashed an aerial assault last time that took him right to the end zone David So ree with that drive I think you've accomplished something you wanted to accomplish make this defense think you put them back on their heels now shoot Palmer you might be able to slip a few runs in on this drive to really Jack him up yeah I like that idea but I also like the fact that speed kills they've got it at the receiver position so if you got one-on-one matchups man take advantage well offensively they knew they were going to have some matchups they could take advantage of in this one and all of a sudden this quarterback has now over 300 yards passing in the game defensively David he has got them on their heels and he's been showing you a little bit of everything he can throw it all over the field to all different receivers to his tight ends to his running backs really has the ability to spread it around and now over 300 yards still some time left and he can put up even bigger numbers and heck go chase some awards man get some postseason Awards get an allamerican just put up a day as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter now the play fake pressure coming and the heat was all over him and that's the way the third quarter will wrap up with a big sack [Applause] that's the end of the quarter and Texas Tech is on top this has been utter domination through three quarters and the stat will back that up one more period to go and we'll see just how much fight they they've got left in them this is a third and long off the boot looking for his man they're bringing heat he'll just throw it away and it'll be fourth down the Red Raiders will bring the punt team onto the field he only needs a sliver of daylight and make the Stop and that is exactly what you want out of your punt cover unit Oregon state has it back and here comes the beaver offense to throw it's go Branson makes the grab over the middle they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker wants to throw on second down that's caught it's Hankerson they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of down B going up top on first down using the back as a receiver on the screen not able to break the big one on that screen to the running back but he found enough and a solid pick up on first down he wants to throw it again and the defense picks up a sack getting the quarterback down at the 44 we've seen throughout the course of the Season defenses have had their hands full with this quarterback he simply one of the best in the country but what can you say about this defense here today they have gotten after him registering multiple sacks and they've never let him get into a rhythm now facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass unloads it left and they fail to hook up on third down coach has no choice here the offense has to stay on the field down multiple possessions this l fourth down attempt coming and he was just a couple of steps away from taking that one even further after the catch the Beavers are flying down the field can't hold on he had him right down the middle and he flat dropped it the incomplete pass leaves him with second down he's looking to throw hard in the back field it's Clemens tackled almost immediately they're well short of the first down third down coming they'll run playaction coming after it nowhere to go with the ball and down he goes at the 39 and I tell you what this defense they've heard all about how great this quarterback is they came in today with a mission with a purpose they've been flying around harassing him and making life so hard on this offense down by multiple possessions you can't come up empty on this drive they'll go for it on fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up the first down and that ball is picked off he'll try to take it back and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception a veteran in this defense State locked in on his rules and made the interception and that's a really good job by the defense understanding the situation of football it's fourth down it's late in the game you got a multi-p possession lead take away all the Deep stuff make him Force the football into coverage they do and they stamp this game well this defense has tried to find ways to disguise their coverage and mix it up to try to confuse the QB it's not working though with that last completion he's now get over 300 yd passing continuing to turn and move it forward and they're closing in on M field it's down at the 48 out of the shotgun they go to the ground and they make the tackle but he has plenty for the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs right back to the well and he has had a long day at the office not to mention the backfield as the defense has been all over him here's the handoff and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short gain third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off the throw to the outside is complete he gets it to the 38 yd line and they'll pick up a fresh set of downs and the Red Raiders will line it up on First and 10 the give to the tail back here it is trying to flex the muscle they get him down at the 34 after a pickup of four solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D they'll keep it on the ground to keep this clock moving and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs wide receiver coming across in motion they're going to go right back to him on first down I think you have to like what you see through the coaching staff here your offense is on the field and it looks like you got a pretty good drive going and you're just going to try and keep this thing marching keep the clock ticking you've got a really nice lead here late just want to find ways to keep the chains moving they're doing that looking for a man it's Morton getting some heat he just threw that one away nobody was getting open he had to live to fight another play in the Red Zone it'll be third [Applause] down they'll try to run for it tackled after picking up the first down we reached the two-minute warning and this offense is that much closer to salting away a victory they'll give it to him again they keep feeding him in this running game and the defense is having none of it it's been that way all day [Applause] running back searching for a hole nice solid form tackle from this sophomore that last play not what they had in mind and they've got a long way to go to get it close to the goal line to pick up a first down on third down he drops to throw they're setting up the screen good tackle there to stop him short of the first down it'll bring up a big decision now a fourth down all business today for this ball Club they come out and they get the win and that's all that matters it's not always pretty um you don't always do everything you want to do or check all the boxes but at the end of the game Jesse you want that W no doubt about it they made the plays they needed to make in order to get this win I thought the quarterback showed tremendous Poise good leadership throughout the course of the game defense made stops when they had to make them so right there were some things that are going to need to clean up moving forward But ultimately they were the better team today so that's going to do it for us for Jesse Palmer David poock I'm Rees Davis saying so long this has
