WEEKS AND WEEKS, UNUSUAL FOR TROPICAL STORMS TO START THIS EARLY IN THE SEASON THAT FAR OUT IN THE ATLANTIC HISTORIC RECORD, 5 CATEGORY 5 STORM AND OUR TALK ABOUT IMPACTS HERE AND WHAT FOLKS MIGHT BEEN CHECKED OUT WITH THE HOLIDAY A LITTLE BIT COMING BACK TO LIFE TODAY INSIDE WHO IS HIGH. IT'S HUMID AND NOW WE'VE GOT A STORM 5 ALERT FOR TUESDAY DURING AFTERNOON HOURS TOMORROW, THE REMNANTS OF BERYL WILL CREATE SOME SHOWERS AND STORMS THAT MAY PACK SOME DAMAGING WINDS AND EVEN THE POSSIBILITY OF A COUPLE QUICK SPIN UP. TORNADOES. IT WOULDN'T BE WIDESPREAD AND NOT NECESSARILY LONG-LASTING, BUT IT IS A BIG CHANGE FROM THE HOT HUMID PATTERN WE'VE BEEN IN AND IT'S A RISK. SO WE WANT YOU TO BE READY FOR IT. STORM 5 ALERT, LIKE I SAID FOR TOMORROW TODAY WE'VE GOT A COUPLE SHOWERS AND STORMS THAT ARE EXITING OUR KENTUCKY TEAR. SO HOP KINGSVILLE STARTING TO QUIET DOWN FOR USE NOISY EARLIER ONE LONE SHOWER ACROSS WILSON COUNTY NEAR OLD HICKORY. >> ALL IN ALL. >> QUIET ACROSS THE AREA, BUT IT WON'T STAY THAT WAY. BERYL CAME ONSHORE AS A CATEGORY ONE TODAY ABOUT 80 MILES SOUTH OF HOUSTON ALONG THE COAST. STILL TROPICAL STORM STATUS OUT AHEAD OF IT. THE RAIN BANDS STRETCH FROM NORTH TEXAS ALL ACROSS ARKANSAS, EVEN INTO PORTIONS OF MISSOURI. THE KEY THING THAT WE'RE WATCHING IS WHERE THE CENTER OF BERYL WILL GO. I JUST SHOWED YOU THOSE RAIN BANDS EXTEND HUNDREDS OF MILES OUT FROM THE CENTER. IT'S WHERE THE CENTER GOES. THAT HELPS US PINPOINT THE MOST LIKELY LOCATION FOR SEVERE WEATHER. SO WHAT THIS CONE SHOWS YOU IS WHERE THE CENTER OF BERYL, MAYBE TOMORROW AT 1 O'CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON COULD BE IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI COULD BE IN NORTHEAST PORTIONS OF ARKANSAS BY TUESDAY NIGHT. THE CENTER MAY BE AS FAR WEST OF ST. LOUIS COULD BE AS CLOSE TO US IS PADUCAH. THE DIFFERENCE HERE IN THE REASON WHY THIS MATTERS IS THE FURTHER WEST, THE CENTER GOES THE LOWER OUR SEVERE WEATHER CHANCES. THE CLOSER THAT LOW TRACKS TO US, THE HIGHER OUR SEVERE WEATHER CHANCES. THAT'S WHY WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE SEVERE WEATHER RISK TOMORROW, KIND OF LOOKS LIKE BOTH SITE. THERE'S THIS YELLOW AREA. THAT'S OUR LEVEL 2 OUT OF 5, MAINLY ALONG THE OHIO RIVER. AND IS BECAUSE OF THE TRACK OF THE CENTER OF BERYL. IT'S WITHIN THIS ZONE THAT WE MAY SEE A FEW QUICK SPIN UP TORNADOES TOMORROW AS WELL AS SOME 40, 50, MAYBE EVEN 60 MILES PER HOUR. WIND GUSTS THAT RISK DECREASES THE FURTHER SOUTH. YOU GO. BUT I WANT THE WHOLE AREA TO BE READY. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE SHOWERS AND STORMS ON AND OFF A LOT OF DRY TIME WHEN IT DOES STORM. THOSE STORMS MAY INTENSIFY QUITE QUICKLY AS YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR POSITION TO ACT AND NOT BE FRANTIC. STORM. 5 ALERT IS FROM NOON TO 10 AGAIN, WINDS. COUPLE QUICK SPIN UP. TORNADOES. THOSE ARE GOING TO BE OUR BIGGEST CONCERNS TONIGHT. WE'LL HAVE A COUPLE KINDA APPETIZER. SHOWERS AND STORMS DANCE BY. NOT WORRIED ABOUT THOSE MID-MORNING. WE'RE QUIET LUNCHTIME IS WHEN BERYL TRACKS NEAR THE MISSISSIPPI. AND WE SEE SOME SCATTERED STORMS ONCE THIS OUTER RAIN BAND MOVES THROUGH, WE'LL BE ABLE TO GIVE THE ALL CLEAR THAT SEVERE THREAT IS GOING TO DROP PRETTY QUICKLY. BUT UNTIL IT PASSES, YOU, YOUR JOB REMAINS UNCHANGED. JUST LIKE EVERY SINGLE TIME WE'VE GOT WICKED WEATHER. STAY CONNECTED TO IT. KNOW WHERE YOU'LL GO. ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S DURING THE DAYTIME HOURS.
