My F1 2024 Dutch Grand Prix Qualifying Review, HAMILTON & ALBON PENALTIES!

welcome guys we've had a fantastic Dutch Grand Prix qualifying session we got another stupendously good lap and just before we get into that some news ahead of the session Jack Doan is going to make his Alpine debut next year he's been given a full-time seat for 2025 only at this stage so that's two new Junior drivers joining the F1 grid uh next year we've got oi Burman now Jack D and potentially we could have three If U kimy anali gets confirmed at Mercedes looks like that's only a matter of time but what a fantas fantastic job uh he's done to get that contract um I mean it was debatable wasn't it whether he'd get that there's some serious drivers on the grid without a deal yet and so uh there was potential for someone else to take that seat but he's obviously impressed during the um sessions that he's been given and what a brilliant job but let's jump straight into the q1 qualifying session q1 we didn't see a LP from Logan Sergeant he sadly dropped in f fp3 a big crash cost it on fire also not enough time for them to repair it for him to get out on circuit so yeah another disappointing um weekend so far for Logan Sergeant when really the pressure is completely off you know he's not got the seat now he just needs to well enjoy himself really um and he's not been able to do that this weekend so far has he um but yeah just needs to calm down a little bit and just see it through to him and and just get a drive a permanent Drive is what the team have sent to trying to help him do for next season um so far he's not done it 19th Place Joan Yu and again he meets himself with Logan Sergeant on the back of the field he was particularly slow he's had a lot of troubles so far this weekend um really couldn't pin down to what exactly the problem was the car is very sensitive to uh the wind directions but he's about second off vry batas um which is uh a million miles away when you're talking F1 times isn't it 18th play valry botas again he was complaining about the card just not being good here uh and the Gusty conditions really just highlighting the weaknesses of the car um so yeah disappointed from him 17th Place Aon and now this was a surprise but he's just been really struggling with that car he just said um he changed everything on the car to try and get on top of it but still lacking grip um couldn't get on top of what the problem was and it'll be disappointing considering um he's normally quite close to Pierre gazley and who's had a fantastic qualifying session 16th Place for Daniel Ricardo um Sergio Perez the way that one and then well a penalty for Lewis Hamilton off the back of uh this one because Sergio perz was deemed to have been uh impeded by Lewis who was pretty much right on the edge of the track um he had to do a second run so he went fastest in that session P2 for George Russell and P3 for Carlos signs I'll come on to the Hamilton a bit in a minute but onto the Q2 session and we've seen Kevin Magnuson go out Kevin nicah hulkenberg in p14 the two hes struggled around here um I did predict as much and it's proven so in qualifying and it could get sticky because their sponsor or previous sponsor rali has said they've not paid their debt and the cars can't leave Netherlands until they do that and well it's kind of come out a worst time because we've got uh a back-to-back race a week's time before they go to Monza so they kind of need to cough up that money and quick uh 13th Place Yuki soda um he' be happy he be and his teammate Daniel Ricardo but um not really quite there in the top 10 Lewis Hamilton 12th Place qualifying session and surprising actually because the car was actually one good enough to get into Q3 look where George Russell ended up and he look looking quite strong up into that Q2 session I'm not really quite sure what went wrong there it was just overall a scruffy Lap In the End um but yeah just not good enough and and this really disappointing from him and another shot Carlos SS P1 um obviously the upgrad in that Ferrari just really haven't come quite work for him yet um he just about made a scrape through in q1 also and then what caught foul in Q2 a really disappointing session from him uh the stars there though uh Lance stroll was P4 in that session Alex albon into p7 a brilliant job from him Pi gazley um into P9 in that session I've got some more disappointing news on the album and stick with it on that one uh Lando Norris P1 uh in that session Jord Russell in P3 Oscar C in second so it looked strong for McLaren and well what a lap we got in q1 Lando or Norris hats off it was just absolutely brilliant wasn't it um what 410 off faster than Max V Sten such a short track it was absolutely phenomenal from him um an absolute Master Class of a lap one of them laps where he look back and think it was just almost in perfect he the only thing he said was really it was his turn one wasn't great but after that he just felt it was a really good lap and well it proved so didn't it Max Sten pulled off a lap and gets into second place um he always pulls it off around the Dutch Grand Prix and at one point it looked like he would be fourth fifth place but I mean you can't count him out can you another brilliant lap from him Oscar pastri in third place and he'll be disappointed because it looked like the McLaren especially the Gap that noris pulled to Red Bull you think pastri should really SL slot into that Gap um didn't quite get the the lap together the only thing good thing here really is is probably on the clean side of the Grid on this Dusty Sandy circuit so um he'll be hoping for a good launch and try and get past Max at the start tomorrow George Russell a fantastic qualifying in fourth place he pulled off a brilliant laugh who beat the improved Perez um he was still what half a second nearly off Max for stpp him but in P5 that's better he's closer up at the grid H and even chrisan hor was saying that this isn't one of his best tracks but overall a really decent result from him Clair in sixth place a fantastic job overall um where considering Carlos SS got knocked out in in Q2 um but still that Ferrari uh yeah struggling Fernando Alonso he was really happy with his lap p7 um said it's q1 and Q2 was really struggling but then came together in Q3 probably his best lap there Alex albon now this is so heartbreaking a p8 but his car has been disqualified from uh qualifying due to an infringement uh and he will start at the back of the grid such a kick in the teeth because it looked like finally some points will be on for him from there it' be a difficult circuit to overtake and well two Williams right at the back um just a horrible qualifying session in the end which looked brilliant uh I mean what a job to get to Q8 um p8 sorry and and yeah overall a massive horrible Point position for him to be in now L St in P9 um yeah decent but he's been beaten by Fernando alono in qualifying so the Fernando that we knew is back but yeah good qualifying session from him and Pierre gazley rounds out the top 10 and I think that's a brilliant session um the Alpine look strong and he did it a brilliant job and like I said two penalties um Alex albon disqualified and Lewis Hamilton gets a three Place grid penalty for that impeding of Sergio Perez so he'll start from 15th Place uh so even worse from him um and he'll be hoping for some rain safety cars everything to help him out and it kind of needs fall perfect timing for him to try and Nick some what a half decent result from there isn't it um yeah horrible session in the end for Alex albon and Lewis Hamilton uh two penalties but what a job from Lando Norris a fantastic session uh a fantastic lap and well mcclaren's look strong uh and it looks like his race to lose to tomorrow um the car look quick in every session in fp3 doesn't it a free practice even in the long runs over one lap it looks quick and barring getting beat by Max V stappen off the uh off the start line which he'll be wary about he's not LED his couple of polls he's had before this so he'll be wary of that and he'll be really eager to put that right here um barring that um you know it's McLaren race to lose really by the looks of it uh and Oscar piastri will be eager to jump Max for stappen at that start and controlled finish to the for for McLaren from there on it'll be only their to mess up and considering they've had a couple of own goals so far recently in terms of strategy they'll hope that they can have a a clean straight race to the race finish tomorrow but it all lets set to be a really good Grand Prix doesn't it can Lis hold off for stappen Let's See How Far Lewis and Carlos s can kick it through the field and disappointedly Alex albon um well they've got a quick car around here can he pull off some sort of miracle and get some points from there um and overall we should be in for another cracking Grand Prix I cannot wait for the action to get going watch out for the race
