TEAM TALK: GARMIN, HUMMINBIRD, LOWRANCE - WHICH ELECTRONICS BRAND IS BEST???

how we doing everybody I'm back with another bad video you know why because it has to do with um graphs electronics and all the good stuff are we recording yep making sure because we just did this once we get to do it again that's the way we do things people it's not easy sometimes we're doing this on round two but we are doing a team talk today about Electronics SLG graps and the big thing that comes in on emails is what would Andy put on his boat if he had one graph that he could put on his boat one and only one what would he put on his boat um I'm not really the prob I I am up on it 100% but I'm not a graph guy I really don't give to shits about what's going on with them um I could fish probably without one um and just I wouldn't do great but I'd be happy fishing without one um but probably more once you start to look at it you obviously need them today and and I do have I do have a preference we're going to use the three major brands we're going to use uh laurance hummingbird and Garmin in order that's what we're going to use um and we're only going to use those three just because they're the biggest brands on the boats nowadays when you go to Cabellas and all that good stuff we're not dealing with offshore we're not dealing with any of that stuff but so I'm going to get right to the point if I had to pick one graph and it could only go like we're saying one so I'm either putting it at the council or I'm putting it up front what am I doing I am buying a Garmin I'm putting a Garmin on my boat for more than one reason I think Garmin is a very good product they're very reliable they've been around forever um if you think about this this is dates back we date back 10 years from before this Garmin wasn't even in a picture they weren't even talked about you know they weren't they were dead due to the hummingbird Garmin high five thing put them away stay away for a while until we can become the dudes and then you can come back type um but they are back and they're better than ever and they're advancing every day I think like I said they have probably stuff in their back pocket waiting for the other brands to come out and they're going to keep punching them because they're Advanced they're so far ahead they could be probably super Premiere um when it comes to mapping they're not great they're good 2D is probably good their their down and Side Imaging is probably just above good going into great um their their pan Optics we know is pristine perfect excellent to the top of the world the best it could be in the industry I would say um now there's going to be a bunch of arguments about that and that's fine that's why we do this my opinion usually Sparks other people stating what they had and why they have what they have and that's the biggest thing about the videos is you guys firing off and saying man I love my laurance I've never had a problem with it or man my hummingbird's great I will give you hummingbird guys hummingbird mapping is great it really is laurance is probably Premier when it comes to fish iding and making it that kind of way on probably 2D probably the most premium 2D out there mapping is pretty good too it's probably not how many bird level in my eyes um if Jackson was here he's not he's gone home for the day if Jackson was here he'd probably sit here and probably tell up he would probably go to Garmin too um just because of a lot of variables when it comes to Garmin like I said I think updates are easy they're simple you're not sitting around um customer service is right there at the top of the tier like it's really really really really really good especially for us guys when we call them um Jackson just got done with a horrific little deal with laurance when he had his laurance goes down he runs all three on his all three brands Jackson is like the electronics Guru in the shop I mean if we have questions we go to him um he really really is like a little kid in the candy store when it comes to that stuff he's always trying to update himself keep himself involved he does his own class he does that on the side he he's really involved with it um but he just had a really really really kicking the balls Style Style thing from Lance where he had one go down sent it in um sat on the phone before he sent it in on speaker for over 2 hours before he got a response from somebody you're a global company and you're not answering the phone within 2 hours and then the guy that answered the phone could barely speak English and then he kind of sent an email back stating what you know this was kind of shitty whatever and then he got a like an automated email back and it ended with best regards chin or Ching or something like that ching don't let Ching sign his name put like Bill or Allan or Mike or something I mean that that's frustrating and then it came back and then he looked at his credit card credit card on file cuz he deals with these people all the time and they just charged his card 1,800 and sent him a unit they didn't even make an attempt at his they said his was unrepairable how in the is something unrepairable in this day and age how can you not fix it because you don't make parts for it so then you throw it away so then you force them to get the new and then the shit's not up datable then that goes away then you just it's a daisy chain and that's why when it comes to like Garmin I don't have we don't have those type of problems Garmin doesn't do that type of right now that I'm seeing that we're seeing but you know and that's that's just and I asked Jackson I said how they said the LCD was not replaceable how in the is an LCD not replaceable somebody named chin or Chang has it and just send it put it on the fix it but they they literally just discontinue every 6 months and make you buy the new one and it it's that's the only way that they're going to stay in business cuz without it they're just going to be stuck they're just going to be stuck and the everything's going to go down so that's their Mastermind plan um but garmin's always been good they've been great to us they've been customer service been great like it's like spot on um and they fix the problems and like I said their updates are quick and easy it's simple um yeah if I like I said if we're picking we're picking a Garin and I'm getting one not going to say what size it probably be a 10 12 something like that and I'm not putting no TV up there I'm just going to use that and be happy the reliability is good the picture is good their mapping like I said isn't great but it would get me to where I need to be um hummingbird now on hummingbird's customer service has gotten a little bit better I think over the years they've gotten a little bit more quality um I don't know that I would if I had to pick between the two of them I if we if garmin's out of the picture I would say hummingbird is probably next in line for me I'd probably take a hummingbird just because their mapping is so good their 360 is pretty damn good there there's a lot of good stuff with the 360 their Mega live is average I would say maybe a little above average and then you know you get their 2D has been pretty Rock Solid I think they have a great down and Side Imaging I think they're really really good down inside Imaging um so I that you're kind of weighing the options there but the only thing that's balancing me when it comes to Garmin versus hummingbird is probably how nice that Garmin looks in comparison to how the you know the hummingbird looks and then the customer service side of me spending $2 to $33,000 on a unit and the customer service side would win on the Garmin laurance just isn't even in there when you got to wait 2 and a half hours to get a response back and they don't even speak English um but there's a lot of you guys that are going to or gals that are going to debate that and that's cool that's what we want right we need you to debate this we need you to come out and say I've never had a problem with myant they treated me well I was on the phone for 40 minutes that's fine but we're just saying we consistently have a problem getting a hold of some somebody that speaks good quality English from Lance um it used to be different 10 15 years ago I could make a phone call Bam they'd be on the phone talking to a dude he'd be hitting stuff up getting it done now it's not worth our time a lot of the times when there's problems with this stuff we usually either just tell them to go do it themselves because it's not justifiable for me to pay a guy to try to work while listening to his phone and you know it just doesn't work so um yeah if I had to pick and I think the other question was where would I put it in the boat if I had to pick one one spot where would I put it I would put it up front just because that's from fishing you know at the end of the day it's not going to keep up with me when I melee a stump or I run it into the sand or do anything like that it's not effective um and essentially I'd put it up front if I could pick one and put it in the boat um I think when it comes to the future I think that Garin will just like I said keep pushing the limits when they need to I don't feel they need to I don't feel they feel they need to push the limits right now they released a pan Optics or a live that was next level right out of the box and they've gotten it better and it's only going to get even more better it may get pulled back now a little bit with tournament starting to kick it to the curb um but I I think the rest are chasing I think the rest are kind of chasing Garmin right now when it comes to that uh that's really where I'd be at with that Jordan what do you else you want me to talk about anything good uh we got some n NASCAR inspired merch we do have NASCAR inspired merch but then it's not NASCAR right we're working on Andy had an idea or two and I liked it I even ran it by my kid who's he was like I would wear that stuff and if he's wearing it then we're getting to the right spot for that age group yeah um and and that's not what we're trying to do but we're just trying to change it up a little bit trying to filter some new kind of stylish stuff in because when we go on our on our Maiden tour here coming up this winter and um we want to be able to have merch for all you guys when we get around and we want every style of merch there um besides that we did get the winner of the bassb saber that was Brian Brian did get us uh his info it's in the Box we're shipping it out it's being it's being actually probably left today it's already gone um and uh we do have a new one we got another one we got another one for everybody hand me that stuff boom right there uh bassb saver did it again bassb saver came to us and dropped us another one of these for you guys to win simply added um and I told you before it comes with this uh little bit of this a little bit of that but it does come with that also just so you guys know it's a $50 bill that bass boat saber put in there for you to get uh put gas inside your boat to go boating on them for a day and then clean and comment retro over here somewhere comment retro also if you want the Retro te I want to do it in the old blue like the one you see me wear the one you see me wear that's got the tear where the cing and it's ripped apart I I think I do it in that color and that color only not black just that one we had a black one back in '93 that's the 1993 logo um we had a black one and we had a blue one but I I think we need just need a blue t-shirt for everybody I think it's a good change not just the White and the black we drop a blue in there if you guys like that make sure you comment retro weeks back is that the guy from Australia it might somebody ordered a mega mega I mean like anyway dude $240 worth of merch I love you did I send him anything uh no not we are going to send him something like I'm sending him a personal thank you for sure $240 worth of merch there was another um another badass deal some Marina bought t-shirts for all of their guys I saw that come in somebody bought that's freaking insane so you're at a Marina and you're wear and they they all wanted team they literally watch ouru getting paid during the day is that cool yeah that's badass that's awesome that's badass I love that um I I can't thank you guys enough I really cannot thank you guys enough there's a guy out of Australia that bought like $200 worth of too and that's cool cuz somebody over in Australia hates me and that was shortly after that that he started hating on me a little bit started throwing some aussy at me and I fired back a screenshot of all of the t-shirts going over and the apparel going over to his like going to his country and he never commented back I think he quit liking us or something which is fine because hopefully one day he walks on the street and it stuff on I love that stuff I I I just literally can't wait to get out and start meeting and greeting you guys and I it's just it's one of those things that I I'm literally it's it's inside of me so bad it's like I want to get go meet you guys I want you guys to come show up and hang out and talk boats talk Motors talk junk talk cool I just want to be able to meet and greet you guys and it's just I can't wait to do it we we've always prolonged it because my schedule's so busy but it's at that point now like I was telling Jordan we're going to be able to we're going to go do a podcast here again I'm taking Neil with me I'm going to start bringing guys with me because they need to start reaping the benefits of what we're doing here too you guys can meet and greet those guys they're all cool guys and um I just can't wait we got like icon we're going back to they won't get off my ass to get down there which I appreciate um do some releases with them we want to get the bullet I know that we want to get around we definitely want to get out to Arizona to see Dave and his new process out there dd26 new product dropping with him um you know I'm I want to get the Precision I want to give you that Precision T Don Precision sonar um there's just so much we want to do we want to go I was talking to the guys at Bass of beer radio about doing that stuff they're getting us we're trying to get into icast you can believe this they're going to like try to get us into icast and that's going to be next level um and we're not going to have a booth we're just literally going to walk around I think it' just be cool just to walk around and have people come meet and greet us see us and do that type of thing um shout out to Shields and r Minnesota I was at Shields of Rochester Minnesota I told Jordan this I'm literally looking for hunting clothes for my kid I went over there cuz they don't have anything in Lacrosse no one sell here um I went over there and um I'm literally sitting there and I'm looking at stuff and my phone rings I'm talking to my boy I'm like dude get over here W you and while I'm talking to him somebody comes up and looks at me and double takes and I hang up and I didn't know we had this much in Rochester there's like one guy comes up to me Andy yeah team Mar yeah he comes up to me I'm like what's up man and I talk to him for a little bit literally got done with that my son's coming over he sees it whatever he goes away another guy comes up and starts talking to me and then two more guys come up and want their picture taking with me I didn't know we had that kind of response in Rochester Minnesota props to Shields and props to all that stuff Shields a great company um great fishing great Marine great everything they got going on there I don't usually get over there but it was awesome just to meet and greet and that's what kind of even fueled me a little bit more to get out and knowing that I can go to Rochester and people notice who I am and uh so I I owe that to you guys and we're going to Def do that I owe that to you guys and get out there and start talking about boats Motors and like I said whether you like me hate me love me want to be around me I just like talking to people that's my dad and me being able to want to just boom go out and talk to people so um that's going to be fun I can't wait for that bass boat saers rocking
