at the end of the day what's best for the team I know Brandon and I believe this is is fitting it together right and um you know making decisions that are best both shortterm and long term for the for the good of the club overall Sean you said you had confidence in Tyler but again today I mean 51's not a Chip Shot obviously but it's a Miss yeah yeah you know those are ones you know he's got to make S he knows that um so looked like he it faded a little bit to the right there so that's a kick he's going to practice the million times know this week and and that's one we got to have so before I even talk about Tyler Bass the heavy topic going on right now amongst bills Mafia and social network and all that man I just want to say how dope how cool is that to see Frank Gore out there being in attendance with his son rocking and Bill's uniform and his son ripping off some good runs getting a touchdown and all that I have not been paying attention really to is this offseason this preseason it's just the way it is man some off Seasons as a fan I'm more engaged than others in this one I just really haven't been following everything that heavy so all my fellow Bills fans football fans man enlighten me in them comments on your thoughts on everything we're talking about but that was just dope man and uh man Frank Gore at the tail end of his amazing history making career you know where he was signing one-year deals with different squads or whatever it was so dope to have him in Buffalo and you know his veteran presence and just to have him as a bill you know as he continued moving up the alltime rushing list and all that I wish we would have kept him again right where did he go to the Jets for one year and then did he call it quits or did he play one more year after that I'm not quite sure but that was dope and this is a dope moment to see right here and like I was saying I haven't been following that much obviously this is the final preseason game we're all ready to get to week one uh does his son like I I was unaware of this you know like does his son have a realistic chance to to make the team or whatever um like I said this is the final preseason game you see a lot of people getting playing time that are super far down the roster and all that man I remember I went to the final preseason game I think it was uh EJ Manuel's rookie year we had injuries at quarterback leading into the season you guys remember that it was looking like it was going to be Tool Time for week one but EJ ended up being all right but in that final preseason game I had a blast going regardless man just that atmosphere being there and all that Matt ler started for for the bills they signed ler out of nowhere and he played against um we played against the the Lions who Thad Lewis was the quarterback and then we later made a trade for Thad Lewis um after that he came to Buffalo and when we saw EJ get hurt again after that uh whatever it was Thursday night Sunday night whatever Prime Time game against the Browns where EJ blew his knee out Jim Brown got honored during halftime it was a crazy game man Kiko Alonzo hurt Brian Hoyer folded him in half earlier in the game like both starting quarterbacks got hurt and tul came in and wasn't looking too good how about tul man I thought tul really had some potential man he almost won that game for us against the Chiefs a few weeks later both quarterbacks went down and then Weeden came in Brandon Weeden threw a TD for the Browns and they beat us what a what a game man it's so wild man looking back man here we are 10 11 years later the bills are a totally different Squad and we're leading into week one the Super Bowl window is still open no question but like I said man it's not the elephant in the room it's the trending topic everyone's talking about Tyler bass and I just got to say too man what in the I never knew about this guys see this clip that's going around I had no idea in the CFL I know there's a lot of different uh rules and stuff like that but I didn't know you can get a point for missing a field goal as long as it goes through the end zone so like it's just so funny to see and you see people that are very negative talking about Tyler bass like yo get ready for the CFL man you're going to be a star up there as a dude celebrates the walk-off where he missed the kick it's so crazy to to watch that go down man I like had no idea that that was a a rule in the CFL man I remember reading the Rocks book and um watching that show young rock as well comment everyone out there if you watch that show it's a dope show those biotype shows are pretty cool man but when The Rock uh played in the CFL and ended up having a real good rapport with Doug fluty they clowned the CFL a lot like in kind of a disrespectful manner on the show but The Rock was ining he always lined up off off sides because the way the line of scrimmage is is totally different over there it's all wild man but shout out to Canada I got nothing but love for Canada I do hear ishes wild over there right now man like a lot of the things going on in the country that it should just been totally different ever since that whole sickness and lockdown kicked it man I had some family come visit me a couple years back just after the lockdown was like ending and um they were able to fly out but they had a lot of problems but being that they were like native not like they're native and you know they have the dual citizenship and stuff like that you know they were able to to get out of the country when a lot of people couldn't man but I just always got to show Canada love man as a 716 um I don't know I've always been fond of Canada my neighbors up there to the north and all that but getting back to this Tyler bass situation a lot of people talking is see a lot of the reactions going down he he missed a 51 Y in like ideal conditions and we all know the way it the season ended last year another wide R it was sickening it hurt physically to watch as a fan and we're like what the and I'mma tell you something man Tyler bass made me nervous right off the rip everyone was telling me I was crazy his rookie year with us where in week one I think we beat the Jets we played like a sloppy game where it was like the bills had that offseason hangover but I remember bass hitting the uprights like twice did he miss a kick or something I don't know he was just looking shaky to me but his numbers were good after that and there was a game where he made like five kicks or something like that and everyone was just like cof you're nuts this guy's solid but I've always been a bit shaky about him right off the rip but he ended up becoming more solid of a kicker But Here we are now last season ended how it did now you see this pre season misses the 51 y I didn't include the clip but um what do you guys think like is it time just bass got to go is it time to make other arrangements is there any other good solid kickers out there available like what are your thoughts you see people out there saying you know uh what does it say Tyler Bass from uh 45 plus dog piss um you can't make the money bass doesn't miss from 51 yards on a day with perfect conditions um here's something a statement from Joe Marino he says currently bass 2024 cap hit is 4.4 M including his salary for the bills which is fully guaranteed if the bills cut him they will still have to pay him also the bills have already paid him a 5.1 million signing bonus and a $500,000 roster bonus earlier this off season while 4.5 million has not been accounted for on their cap yet all that means is if they cut him his dead cap number would be nearly 7.4m granted only 4.3 million would be applied in 24 with the remaining 3.5 is million hitting in 25 so the bills could fit it in their head hand I'm sorry so the bills could fit it if their hand was forced but the net result of cutting him and signing a minimum kicker would be to add roughly 1 million to their cap commitments in 24 and More Than 3 million next year if they traded him the new team would take on his $2.8 million salary in 24 Beyond which would significantly lower his cap hit but if the bills are getting rid of him for inconsistency no team is going to trade for that contract and um I don't know man it's just all around negative feelings from a lot of the fans out there I see very few people taking up for bass I mean listen it is what it is man it's the NFL we want to see our team get that ring a lot of games come down to the wire man and you need a kicker that's going to go out there and make those kicks and we saw what happened last season man his on choke a few other his on choke a few other times and this just is not what you want to see leading in to week one will the bills do anything I mean you heard coach mcder address it like yeah he's got to make that one he's going to practice that one a million times over Etc um I don't feel like they're going to do anything you hear all the breakdown with the money and stuff like that but need a guy that's going to come through in the clutch and it's just like I don't know it just not a good feeling with all this you know like uh bass if I'm not mistaken I think he deleted social media before right and you heard the coach talking about confidence like you don't want a guy that's got The Yips you know that's like a broken shell of his former self you know what I'm saying and is is that what the deal is with bass like obviously with the bills with uh you know why right and everything we think of Scott Norwood comment if you ever seen that movie Buffalo 66 what a crazy take right Scott Wood ended up you know obviously based on Scott Norwood just like an Ace Ventura the storyline that was the Dolphins and all that but I don't know it's just wild to see it in pop culture but Buffalo 66 Scottwood owning the solid good gold strip club and she to walk by the airport that is was a trip man but Scott Norwood after the wide right who was a solid kicker all the time for the bills the next season came through in the clutch a lot for us and if I'm not mistaken in the AFC Championship Game to take us to our second Super Bowl in that four Super Bowl uh streak you know back in that era like Scott Norwood bounced back and took us back to the Super Bowl and you know I think that that was his last season but he he even though you know he'll never forget missing that kick that's just got to be so rough going through life man I swear my life in so many ways feels like a lot of the stuff like you know with the bills man like almost get into the promised land all the time but never fully getting there shanking a kick wide right at the worst time metaphorically speaking you know but um Norwood is able to bounce back and have confidence is Tyler Bass you know did social media get to him is is is this is he damaged goods like what does everyone think um INRI interested to hear all the you know your commentary your reactions all my fellow Bills fan football fans out there and all that and everything we touched on in this video anyone out there you know
