Housekeeping it was such a bad play it felt like 10 years ago Bachelorette this this felt like old school like you've never seen the show you've never heard of it it felt like he had never heard of TV before dear Shandy welcome back to another dear Shandy Bachelorette recap listeners hello Andy hello how are you today I'm doing fine doing just fine settling in with that dark wall behind you oh yeah that's right yes and we have a rather eventful episode to recap I think so but before we get going we have some housekeeping as always I'm going to do that thing I'm addressing you know I'm only responding to the top comment from last week so this was like the most upvoted comment last week in YouTube and it was someone I thought it was funny they Ed the word Disturbed yeah she was like I'm disturbed at your subscriber number she was Disturbed specifically that we don't have 100,000 subscribers sweet yeah we have I think at the time of this uh recording 29.6 I think seven oh really did we just go up uh and I just thought that was so cute she was Disturbed that we didn't have more subscribers and that's so sweet and to be honest we're just not business we're not good at the marketing we're not we don't know how to get we don't know how to do it how do you do that you know we have someone on the Tik Tok some on the YouTube shorts we're creating the best content we know how but we just don't know know really how to grow Beyond this point and so if you have advice for us I mean first of all please like subscribe you know all the things support us maybe maybe um maybe begging I'm our all into it in fact I would say like our shame prevents us from putting anything more into shame and marketing don't mix well like oil and water they really really don't so yeah we were touched by that comment that top comment sorry for disturbing you well you yeah I mean it was heartwarming but also sad yes it said I feel like we're a victim it was bittersweet for sure do we have any other housekeeping before we get going oh that was you know getting on your knees and then getting back up to a sitting position takes a lot of energy I know that this is a thing for you because we once went to a workout class where there's a lot of getting up and down getting up and down and you were like I'm never going back I'm not good at getting up and down yeah I do a lot of things upper body great lower body very poor see yeah as as a woman my lower body is my strength yeah yeah you do have a a very strong hunch yeah I mean I if of all the things that could be strong I'm okay with that yeah no I think it's great I have a butt and like thighs that can do stuff I'm like yeah you know what this is pretty useful that's the most useful thing I feel that way about my hands too look at Tyrannosaurus Rex you think he cared about his arms or his upper body he definitely did not or she the she was actually worse the she was the real killer the she Tyrannosaurus re she Tyrannosaurus Rex I don't they did that much like he was it's kind of like a lion like if there was real trouble at at the nest he would do something but otherwise I don't think he did anything was there a T-Rex Nest yeah it's like a little did they couple up yeah T-Rex had little babies and and there was a nest did they parent together or did did the male just like sire okay you're you're really you're really pushing a little too deep into my T-rex knowledge oh okay well shall we get going yeah okay let's do it I'm sure someone will tell you or tell us cuz I'm curious you have me wondering now like were T-Rex's doting Episode 2 Kick Off parents you know what I think they were I bet they even like like cuddled and like nuzzled each other okay so with episode two we pick up in Melbourne or as they say Melbourne Melbourne I don't know I feel weird saying Melbourne I think it's just that's how they pronounce it so I know but it's like me it's like saying instead of Berlin like saying Berlin yeah or in instead of saying mozzarella saying Group Date #1 mozzarel I don't like when people do that yeah all I'm saying is that I have a hard time saying melburn so I'm going to be saying melbour throughout this okay with that okay so we have our first group date immediately with Sam n Marvin Brian Jonathan Aaron Grant Jeremy and Devin they walk around the Queen Victoria Market this looks fun they taste vemite oh um I said do you speak in my language and he just smiled and gave me a veite sandwich do you come from the land down under well women glow and Men plunder women glow women glow yeah and Men plunder can you hear can you hear the thunder you better run you better take cover wow such a good song Good Andy you really dove in with that it was a lot you had that prepared I feel like well I mean I heard Vite the first thing I thought was Men at Work underrated band Yes they're great underrated you uh have never tasted vomite I asked you this last night never okay don't have much interest yeah I mean I've tasted it and was like H yeah yeah I I had a similar reaction to everyone on the show and I feel bad saying that because I know it's like a national treasure for them is it national treasure was they're kind of being jerks they know it's bad and they're just like it's like ironic I think it's nostalgic for them the way Gila fish is for you and and my ha flakes are for me H flakes no one knows this is a reference for for my Chinese friends cuz I grew up with a a treat that I would get at a Chinese grocery store called Sansa Bean I'm sure I'm saying it wrong but it it's ha Flakes and the ingredients are ha and sugar and I still don't know what ha is but I love them and when I had you taste them you were like this is disgusting yeah and that's how I feel about geila fish and that's how we feel about veite but if you're Australian I guess veite it's delicious Vite is delicious if you start eating it when you were zero they have okay kangaroo balls let's discuss the kangaroo balls I really wish we hadn't seen that no was this this I think it was kangaroo balls I I at first I was like no I was kind of in denial yeah but now that I think about it I think it was probably kangaroo balls they just they really looked more like meatballs yeah but I think they were were they testicles like ground into meatballs yeah I think they were either ground or they were just non ground like on natural but I think they were actually ual kangaro testicles we have a tradition in Australia this is some local whiskey which I'm going to pour in a short glass with our national animal kangaroo the kangaroo so another thing I have about Australia and kangaroos like the the idea like he said it's our national animal like is it not weird to eat your national animal yeah that is am I weird no that is really weird like in like if I think Canada our national animal is the bald eagle imagine eating the bald eagle and ours is the Beaver it's a great are we going to be eating Beaver it's a great Point what are they doing I mean you know I will say though the the the national animal of America the bald eagle is is is endangered okay they've they've been doing well recently I think we got them back up numbers but they're endangered and I think um the beaver is not it's mildly endangered or I actually have no idea millions and millions and millions of beavers we have like Beaver Tales but that's like just a play on words it's not actually you're not eating beaver a lot of people think you are but you're not uh you're just you're I just can't imagine eating Beav my point is is there are so many kangaroos in Australia it's like a it's a problem they're like a pest so I think it's a little different and they are kind of like a giant rodent but very cute but very cute okay so the big talking point here of course is Devin sneaking Jen off for gelato this gets a lot of attention the guys are very annoyed and they come upon a comedy club now and of course are told they have 10 minutes to write jokes to then perform in front of an audience this was basically my worst nightmare I can't think of something worse than this that's really rough What's worst about it what I was saying is that it would be better if they just did it off the top of their head yes because giving them 10 minutes means oh now you're working on it you have to work on something so you better come up with something good 10 minutes is just enough to come up with something terrible yeah and I I think it would be easier to come up with like a poem yeah or like lyrics to a song even like you're a high coup yeah exactly I think to make jok in 10 minutes it's an impossible test and of course all the guys pounce on Devon they roast him unsurprisingly and that brings us to the evening wa do we want to quickly touch on Devin stealing her for gelato I mean this is look it's all fair in love and Bachelor right I mean so what yeah and I mean did he just know about this gelato place where he was allowed to open the front of the gelato thing just he had Google Maps on him yeah yeah he's only part of the equation so now in the evening we have one-on-one time with uh first Jonathan we learned that he had an ugly duckling phase and he's had a relatively recent glow up and he and Jen says the same with her and he says so when did you change and she was like like yesterday I thought that was really cute and Grant now what about the fun socks oh okay sorry sorry he was he going gloss over the fun socks he was wearing fun socks and now Grant he asks what shaped her into the woman that she is and she reveals now that she's been working since she was 14 yeah I was really impressed by this she's basically like I've hustled my whole life and he says he wants a close family he's ready he's a man on a mission and she seems to light up at this right things and then they joke about each other's last names like taking each other's last names and he's like Grant Tran I like that and she's like people are going to look at you like that's not a grant Tran that was so funny she is Jen is I am very I don't want to say pleas surprised cuz it's not like I thought she wouldn't be good but we really didn't see she didn't really shine on Joy suit yeah well she was just sort of like bubbly and now she's like very funny like she said a couple things in this episode that made me laugh out loud and poised yeah and also good at giving like toasts and speeches like she's able to do the sort of like scripted stuff but also is off the cuff funny I'm into Jen as bachelorette that was very funny that's not a grant Trend I mean everyone you what she meant and the transition into a kiss here we have to talk about so they're like laughing about that and then they give each other this knowing look and then they just descend on each other it was so hot the way it's supposed to happen it was a good kiss good chemistry very good and it made me feel pretty good about our predictions yeah our predictions our predictions and granon his it says he feels like he's kissing the woman he's going to marry ooh although I'm never sure how much stock to put into those yeah they do all seem to think that right so back at the hotel now the one-on-one date card arrives and it's for drum roll Marcus this was exciting yeah you know who was most excited was Marcus Marcus was surprised his reaction to getting this was adorable legitimately surprised like who me he was like when someone's looking at you talking to you but you think they can't be talking to you they're probably talking to someone behind you but they're talking to you yes which almost that's never the case though no it's usually the opposite is the most embarrassing it happened to me the other day I didn't tell you I was too ashamed wait what happened oh it was so shameful I you you were out with your friend and I was I I decided to go out for a walk and maybe get some food okay and I'm St I'm sort of like standing in the middle of the block on my phone like debating between which direction to go was there's one restaurant here I kind of liked and there's one restaurant this way I'm just standing there kind of in the middle of nowhere and there's these three girls sitting at a table one of those tables in the street like recognized seating did you think they recogniz no it wasn't that at all oh she started saying to me she's like hey come sit down we're having dinner and I was like okay I'll come over and see what's going on oh and it was the guy behind me and I had like a full like exchange with them before Oh Andy that's that's like sitcom level really rough oh I'm so sorry yeah it's okay I I know how that feels I catch it to myself until now except I think I'm so afraid of the shame of that that I don't even let myself have the exchange unless I'm 100% certain so someone could be talking to me looking me right in the eye and like using my name and I'm still like well the the other problem was is my vision's not great anymore and I actually thought one of the people was someone I knew just keeps getting worse right well you know I well I think we can all admire let's take a moment to appreciate Andy's vulnerability in sharing this story very vulnerable yeah Andy he's just like us that reminds me of that US Weekly remember in US Weekly Magazine there'd be a page it's like stars they're just like us right they pick up eggs from the groc they put on their pants so Andy he's just like us so back on the group date Aaron confronts Devin uh questioning his seriousness about Jen he calls him Dylan amazing and also calls him a boy and doesn't even elude he basically says to his face you're not ready and Deon in his itm says Aron thinks sitting by being relaxed and cool and wearing pearls Jen's going to pick him oh man I mean this Pearl burn he won me over yeah Devin you know here's the thing about Aaron and Devin I think and this is going to be a theme throughout the whole episode so I almost don't want to talk about it yet but I feel like Aaron especially considering his twin brother has been through this whole show should be a little better at letting stuff roll off his back and not getting involved because what he's doing is creating this self-fulfilling prophecy where he hasn't read the handbook his brother should have prepped him yeah the more annoyed he is by Devon and the more he confronts them the more likely it is that he is the one whose one-on-one time Devon will be interrupting with a bowl of ice cream yes it's the bachelor quicksand yes the more you fight the more you sink yes and he's going into it with such a like righteous that does not translate on TV even if he's right that's the thing like I it like all of the things that Aaron is accusing Devon of could be true maybe he is disrespectful Like You could argue sure that D Devon Devon taking time from the other guys is disrespectful but him calling him a boy calling him not ready it's like it starts to muddy the Waters of what his accusations are and he doesn't know him well enough he doesn't know him well enough to know his name right as kep it almost feels so fool hearty that it was like he was trying to do this was he thought this was the right move like it's almost manufactured yeah he's like oh Devin's the bad guy I'm going to be the good guy by confronting him but he misread the whole situation it was way too early too way too early he hadn't even directly done something to him yeah like it had he done had he taken time from Aaron specifically at this point maybe this confrontation you could have been like hey like next time don't do that to me but all he had done was taken her from the group on the first date this is the first date if this was too soon Aaron I feel like his he needs to be better at sitting on it yeah you know that's that's kind of like a a maturing thing and here's the thing is I think Aaron would argue he's more mature but I think that there's a lot of maturity in sucking it up and not reacting agreed and then so Aaron now goes to his one-onone time and this is hilarious and his voice over heading into it he's like I don't want to get pulled into drama like he he was the one that started that conversation stop pulling yourself into drama yeah you he is becoming the creator of the drama by being so bothered by Devon so Aaron in his one-on-one time says he's trying to respect everyone's time that's literally the line being uttered when Devon interrupts with ice cream he's basically just pummeling Jen with gelato and ice cream I would like to think that was Devon's idea I'm sure obviously production had to do that it wasn't like he went out and got it but I think this might have been his idea I don't know I'm trying to respect everyone's time and like can I come in here oh uh Jen is into it yeah she calls Devon fun to his face I mean I do think he's fun I think he's fun I wonder if people are going to disagree with us cuz I can I can see people thinking Devin is the bad guy like the villain here they're certainly trying to suggest that and look I am never team like guy who always steals the girl from other guys and like steals extra time disrespects the other guys and all that stuff but this is The Bachelorette and there's always someone who's going to do that and I really think it comes down to how you react to it you're the one who who turns it into a thing this is a competition I always feel like when people confront people for making game moves it's like poor sportsmanship yeah you could argue that making those poor game moves in the first place was poor sportsmanship but you say poor game moves it's what's poor about it it's a game move that's the definition of game it's like to make the move that gives you the advantage it's a game I mean this is a competition is it not no you're right but I maintain that it's how you react like it's sort of how you know I'm going to reference the episode we had recently with Dave Neil where he was like do you want to live in a friendly or unfriendly world because you will make the world what you think it is true so if you look at everyone through a friendly like uh benefit of the doubt seeing the best in people you're going to see the best in people and vice versa and so I feel like this them all reacting to Devon in this like he's he's disrespecting us he's taking from us he's this this this this this they're creating that Reality by their reaction because there are producers who are like sweet let's do more of that of course yeah there it's a self-fulfilling prophecy and along those same lines I find that every time someone comes after an a sensible villain and then they themselves look a little bit like a villain in doing so you know that that person that they came after is not the villain yeah well I felt Aaron this wasn't his finest Devon is a false flag not the [Music] villain A1 it's going to make your day bright AG G1 don't put up a fight that kind of a regga beat variation on a theme Andy I thought about harmonizing but I was like no he's this is a solo event then Devon interrupts Aaron again and it's just like so juvenile I actually think Devon shouldn't have gone back uh yeah yeah I think that last one was a little weak but the last one paid off yes wow good memory anding because this one-on-one time leads to a kiss yeah did you buy this kiss I think I did yeah I mean she said you she said you should kiss me she could have been like I don't know if it were there yet yeah no that's true he kind of asked for permission and she was into it yeah she didn't seem to say it like okay fine let's kiss she's like yeah bring it on I would love to be able to give you a kiss right now well I think you should and so now back with the men once again Aaron confronts Devon in front of everyone and Devon's like I'm not checking your personality stop checking mine I thought that was actually a pretty good comeback I think Devon's saying all the right things I and honestly I didn't want to like de no I know I didn't like it I didn't want to like it you are anti- and he's winning me over and and usually that's a very good sign Jen now gives the group date Rose to Grant which I think is very symbolic not only does she seem to like Grant but it also showed the type of bachelorette she is because I think there is an alternate universe in which she would have given the rose to Devon specifically to create more she chose Switzerland she doesn't want the drama yes so now Marcus has his one-on-one uh Marcus’ 1-On-1 a plane comes out and they learn they'll be jumping out of it at 15,000 ft uh Jen of course is super afraid of heights yeah and in his voiceover of Marcus says I've jumped out of a lot of planes as an Army Ranger he is such a badass I know I also love that he didn't say this to her like it was a voiceover like he has said it he said it in his itm room like in the context of being afraid or not it would have been so easy for him to go over the top with her like oh this nothing you I've done this a million timeses don't worry about it you just jump out he was so modest yeah he's so classy so they do jump out and Andy you who are very afraid of heights would you say Heights are your oh do not like heights Heights are your thing Heights are my thing yeah okay you said that if someone were strapped to you the way people were strapped to them you'd be okay with it yeah if someone's in control of me like I have no control like I'm not the one actually taking the step yeah I feel much better about it also it's a professional it's not like it's just some random guy we talk about those professionals they look like they love their jobs oh it's the best job if you like to do that it's amazing you're just jumping out a plane with you're basically every time you go to work you're changing someone's life you're giving them the most one of the most exciting memorable experiences of their entire life it's different if you're like it's a tour guide at some thing on an island like oh look at these trees and there's a volcano in the distance it's nice it's beautiful but they're like oh my God I I skydived that's the thing Sky Dove I Sky Dove definitely dived yeah but and also if you just love that sensation like it is really thrilling like I I swear I know we were supposed to be looking at Jen and Marcus in those in those like uh GoPro shots but I was looking at the men behind them and they were like me too me too because everyone jumping for the first time looks the same they're all just like yeah you know but they were just like you saw them they were smiling the whole time I wanted to know their stories like what brought them to this like why how did they get to do this do you think there comes a point where you're a Skydive instructor where it just becomes like going to the office and the guy in the back just has a sort of a frown on his face while they're skydiving well in that that person then is just going to feel that way about anything oh do you think they're like lifelong like career skydiving instructor where that's it from like 25 to like 60 that's all they do do you think you can do that at 60 sure you are you kidding George HW Bush Dove out of a plane at 90 he did it every every birthday he did it like that was his birthday thing he Dove out of a plane alone yeah yeah or with someone I don't know one of the two who cares he's 990 going out of a plane well that's I mean that's cool makes it what makes you not be able to dive out of a plane in your old age you don't have to do anything you have any of your muscles I was thinking more the impact of like when you hit the ground you really have to have your legs under you oh that's a good point yeah the ground part yeah the ground part the ground part ground part yeah you're right they should they're probably it's probably not good to do it when you're own in the evening now they are in a stunning Library Jen says she feels calm and comfortable with him and I love this she points out how rare it is how well Marcus could read her needs on a first date I thought this was so observant of her what like it's such a lovely compliment to give and it's true I think that he is very intuitive yeah like I feel like he would make a really good partner he's very calming very lot faith in him you feel like you're in good hands yes exactly he says he wasn't always the strong confident person he is now a lot of work went into it and now he shares his backstory uh of having been an Army Ranger for eight years his last deployment to Afghanistan he got seriously injured by a grenade and it totally changed his life he underwent many surgeries and had to learn to walk again wow can you imagine and he's now hyper aware of the fragility of life and wants to live a life that is worth saving oh my God I mean marus did anyone not fall in love with Marcus here yeah this was really beautiful I also love to you know so many people would at the tail end of this and be like and that's why I want a wife and kids and family and blah blah blah because like that's what I want you know I turned it into like a b at packaged you know wrote quote but instead he's just like I want to live a life worth saving about him yeah it's broader than just like and I'm here to find love with you you know it was just a beautiful real dude he is there are actually a decent amount of real guys on this I'm pleasantly surprised real men actual men yeah I saw some comments saying that they didn't weren't into the guys and I'm like really I'm into them what's not to like I don't know you can't say you're not into the guys night one yeah because I'm not into the guy's night one either totally she says she's honored to know that side of him they share a beautiful hug I love this too this easily could have been like oh I'm so honored to know that side of you and then turn into like a hot make out you know I was waiting for that yeah instead they stand and they just hug the process of sharing yourself is like super scary because you're kind of throwing your heart to the wind a little bit it was beautiful it was twice twice there were two hugs without a kiss and you knew that the kiss was coming he wasn't worried about it he wasn't like oh I should kiss now because this is my maybe my last chance I don't want to waste it on a h it was so respectful it was like there was just a moment of intimacy without any sexuality NE there should have not been any kiss after that story that's not a kiss story I agree it's weird if you kiss times it does turned into a kiss story and without you realizing what happened uh they do end up making out and there kissing very solid very you know what he's good at the thing I always talk about this thing the hand on the face the hand the hand back of the neck the slight face caress yeah it was like authoritative but gentle it was hot oh yeah okay so now the second group date uh Jen is going on Group Date #2 about animals I love what an animal lover she is I know she Fosters kittens in her spare time and she got to hang out with koala bears you almost fostered kittens for a minute I actually did Foster a kitten once oh really before I got really allergic and like right at the end of my fostering I let her go but I I I stuck it out the whole fostering really it was a little rough though there was another time before we got Ruby we were sort of in talks to maybe Foster some kittens but we were traveling so much and I think they just got sick of us we're like well how many weeks do you think cuz we're leaving town on this day like we as I think we asked way too many questions they're used to people being like kittens giveing me yeah instead we were like well we leave in 2 and a half weeks is will the kittens be gone hairy kitten does it lick a lot does have nails she likes animals Better Than People she says animal people are better people I totally agree with this 100% who wouldn't agree with this if you don't agree with this it means you're not an animal person which means that you are an inferior person that's right they have a wildlife photo shoot now with tons of cute animals oh my goodness the spider scene with though I got belly laughs from the scene I let me know you guys is hilarious and they knew it they knew that hakee was the one to do this too and I love the leading up to it he was like everyone was getting all these cute animals these cute furry animals you're like oh what's coming certainly in his casting form you know it's like what's your greatest fear he probably put spiders big mistake you know what I would put in my my biggest fear is ice cream I remember not putting my real phobia smart yeah smart because that yeah why would you do that yeah no why would you do that they're just going to exploit that these you're going to correct Andy on koala you have to have already known it yeah so the the big heroic moment here is Jen is supposed to be handed in snake and snakes are her biggest fear and Dylan steps in O if anyone's going to step in to protect me from a snake I want it to be Dylan Dylan or one of the guys he one tall glass of water oh my God you know you realize how tall he is because everyone's tall in yeah no he is enormous he Bears the brunt of the snake for the photo and Jen I think appropriately selects him for the evening part of the state yeah he deserves it good call yeah he saved her back at the hotel now the non winners return home so everyone who's not Dylan returns home from the state and there's a conversation had here where they basically Thomas who who starts Thomas n he implores the other men there to respect these eight guys who didn't get any one-on-one time with Jen that day and at the Rose ceremony cocktail party they have to you know they're going to let them have their time I hope you guys can respect us tomorrow and um know that we'll do the same for you guys down the road uh uh okay is this a thing I mean I guess it is a thing I to me it's a sort of an unspoken thing I don't think it's something you can necessarily demand it's something you just hope is done you hope yeah saying it almost feels like he's asking for trouble okay yeah maybe you don't say that out loud yeah you weren't into Thomas n's behavior in general in this episode no I think Thomas n really needs to sit back in the cut a little more well I agree that yeah yes everyone should respect each other yes we should make sure these eight guys have priority and all this stuff but at the end of the day you can't control other people's behavior and it's like do unto others as you would have done unto you and that's you can only live by that yourself you can't be like so do for me what I would do for you and I'll get you next time which is basically what he says he's like in the future we'll look after you yeah well you can't tell people to be nice you just hope for the best you do do as exactly do yourself what you would like to be done to you and hope that everyone else does the same yeah and try to surround yourself with people in life who do that but in this situation he doesn't have that kind of control there's a lot of things you can't tell people to do or be you can't tell someone to love you yes biggest that's the number one cannot tell someone to love you no matter how much you convince them like but this and this and this and this you can't convince someone you can't convince someone to be a nice person no you can't convince someone to treat you right and you can't convince a nice person to be a bad person no it's true yeah this definitely felt like for shadowing and in Thomas's defense Devon does seem to be like oh yeah yeah yeah totally fine like yeah like no one is giving him a hard time it's it seems to be met with uh but I mean you you just be asking for trouble to give that a hard time you're like no dude oh I'm going to take all the time you're not going to get anything so now Dylan's date continued he touches on feeling like he doesn't quite belong there and it's so sweet Jen is like I feel the same way I feel that in life she's like I've always felt weird I really like Dylan I like 24 24 very enlightened yes he could easily pass for 10 years older not only like he's he just looks older behaves older all the things older and he's big I always feel like the guys are that big I'm like how'd you get that big in only 24 years feels like that should take longer like a tree you know it takes like a hundred years I also loved Jen's response to this like I really related to her relating to him and how she's like I've never really felt like I belong yeah that was a nice connection I like Dylan and Jen same and she's really good at relating yeah to people really adorable he says he plays chess every day I there's nothing I don't like about Dylan and she gives him the rose unsurprisingly and in any snake situation I want him around back at the hotel Aaron continues to be annoyed by Devon confronts him once again oh my godon I can't take anything he says seriously with that necklace H see I'm sorry this like to me this is is irksome because Devon technically maybe he's done things around the house we haven't seen although I do think we would have been shown it had he done more stuff around the house but I feel like this was just Aaron like wanting to write or wrong that is kind of like you could let that Sleeping Dog lie yeah do you know what I mean like well I know what you mean like it you don't have to be so bothered by someone where you he says he doesn't want to be pulled into the drama he's the one creating the drama from the whole time Deon just minding his business is being Devon yes he's not doing anything other than being himself really yeah and you could himself is obnoxious yeah it rubs people the wrong way sometimes but honestly it's not like he's being a dick I actually don't think he's kind of playing the game and doing a pretty good job of it yeah they I find Aaron in the scene to be just like oh what was he doing what's he thinking so righteous did something happen between the two of them like did he steal his toothbrush or something yeah it felt like there was something else going on there yeah yeah I I I think he kind of I think Aaron might want to jump deon's bones yeah think he has a crush on Deon I think the sexual tension is really it is starting to feel a little sexual Bo up over Aaron once again calls him Dylan and Devon rightfully says that Aaron can't get his name wrong and question his character in the same sentence unbeliev and at that point Devon grabs his pearl necklace and they just start making out he gives him a book Aaron gives Devon a book called principles for self-growth which I think I genuinely think it's possible Aaron thought he was like being the bigger person with this gesture but it was so book that production gave I got to say there's something really ironic about the scene you didn't did you see cla's cla's season no you didn't but it was there was a a scene in it where Bennett friend of the Pod we've had him yeah it's F actually so is Noah Noah's also friend but so they hated each other on their season okay and Bennett gave Noah I think it was a book you guys remind me it was like something similar and it was super condescending and how he did it he gave it to him as like a gift and Noah was like don't talk to me like that like like Bennett treated him like a little kid W and I just think it's sort of ironic that Aaron knowah his twin brother is kind of doing that to Devon here oh to me I felt this was condescending I don't know how this could be construed other than cond it was obviously condescending it wasn't a serious gesture was it though I don't know he made he I think in his itm was like I brought this book for myself I like I'm reading this oh so you believe it so he did bring the book and he gave it to him the book looked very new I will say there were no creases it haded from Amazon that day yeah to a producer's hotel suite the reason why I feel like I could believe that Aaron meant it in that ways because I do feel that Aaron is very righteous and thinks that he's that I think it's possible he perceived his actions here as being like correct I don't know if I see him as being like and now I'm going to do this passive aggressive thing I think it's possible that when he's passive aggressive he doesn't realize he's being passive aggressive it feels like a sketch it almost from Aaron yeah it feels like it's written like he's prepared this thing it doesn't feel like it could be real but I actually think you might be right I think it might be coming from a real place trying to think of another scene another like exchange maybe on Nick's season between Karin and Taylor where Taylor who you know had she was studying to be I think a psychologist and I think now she is a psychologist but she would you know talk to Karin about emotional intelligence and all this stuff and even though you could objectively say she was right it's hard to do that with a peer and not be condescending true true you know in this situation they are peers it's not really Aaron's place to be like let's work on your growth yeah what in what situation does that end well where deon's like oh thanks man really appreciate that you have to be a hell of lot closer and you certainly did in this whole episode maybe the only truly bad thing he did it comes down to how clueless he is about this show because there are unspoken rules yes and I also think that you know that his argument was like I I spoke to her up front so that I wouldn't be taking her from anyone later but there's also a world in which other guys are purposely not given time because he did that in order to create drama and I actually think it says something about the show about the powers that be and about I A positive Development I've seen from production with the show that they didn't do that yeah we didn't see men not get time and therefore get extra angry at Devon for having done this does that make sense yeah and maybe it's because the fight already happened Thomas n already confronted him but as far as I could tell there were not men really upset that they didn't get time because Devon had taken that time I agree there actually seem to be men defending him yes he has friends in the house to you and then only takes them around the corner from where they just were so Jen is yeah Jen is fully within ear shot and proceeds to herang herang I'll tell you Devon's a good sport for even entertaining this I mean did he entertain it he well I mean he he was there this was just such a bad call the interrupting is the win yes that's the win yes just interrupt him be like okay Beat It Devin it's my turn yes that's it yes and if it is about Jen which is what they're all saying it is just go and talk to Jen and what ends up happening and this is so painful is that when Thomas n does eventually have his time with Jen it's exclusively about this oh Thomas n maybe the worst play I've seen in Bachelor history it was such a bad play it felt like 10 years ago Bachelorette yeah is this felt like old school like you've never seen the show you've never heard of it felt like he had never heard of TV before he's like he's just rolled out from under a rock and he comes on this show yeah he was bad Thomas I'll tell you there's only room for one Thomas in this franchise oh well we're still calling him Thomas n oh cuz there's a Thomas a there's still only one Thomas but that's with just a t there's no Thomas in the franchise oh okay yeah yes everyone knows how you feel about Thomas okay you know what I was trying to make a point now it's become a bigger elephant in the room I just said there's only room for one Thomas leave it at that so what you're saying is no Thomas from the season is going to rise to Thomas level Thomas I mean these Thomases are it's embarrassing okay it's not even the competition I don't even know why I said that so interestingly in Thomas n's time with Jen which has now become exclusively about Devon Jen I really like this about her there are people a ton of conversation here honestly they almost immediately start making out again and cue the sultry music but I was a little put off by the lack of conversation here me too I actually to be honest kind of soured a little bit on Sam M I felt like there wasn't a lot there that I may have tried to see in the first episode yeah I mean I agree with that it's it's not like he rubbed me wrong I just feel like they had such an extensive make out in the first episode I feel like more of an effort should have been made by both of them but especially to make this more of a conversation I think it's a very strong physical attraction I think they can deal with it yeah especially Jen no yeah yeah she's she's she's not interested in the conversation but what's going to happen I think this was going to plateau of just being physical and then she's going to start building actual substantial relationships with other guys who she ALS and then that is going to boy the physical connection with those guys and it's going to surpass this cuz this is just fluff this is Desert real world I 100% agree with you but in Bachelor I feel like since she's not allowed to consummate that physical attraction it might stay pent up oh and remain yeah but there's only so much connection you can have with someone who you don't really know yeah that's true I don't know if this a saposexual in me talking okay so now we got word Watch 2 Jen says I need someone who trusts me and trusts this journey uh Jonathan has some one-on-one time this is mostly them agreeing on wanting the same things they make out and Spen are one-on one time similar not much of note here but there is a kiss so that puts them both on the map Andy yeah of Interest I think especially Spencer our wild wild card wildest wild card and meanwhile tensions reach a breaking point between Thomas and Devin I do think Devon should have let this Sleeping Dog lie so Thomas n is outside venting to Thomas a and Devon comes out it's like dude what what was up with that it's like no this is where lowered himself Thomas's level yeah I think that part of coming out on top is knowing when to quit and letting the other person flail and Thomas n clearly was flailing and Devon should have just been like yeah he he should have like disappeared into the bushes 100% yeah this is not a good move this one bad move now we have a rose ceremony Jen at Rose Ceremony the top I thought this for some reason this stood out to me as funny she says I know that my ferocious love is here and that's what's driving my decisions to know something about ferocious love TM yeah yeah I know that my ferocious love is here there's just no emphasis on ferocious no no it's got to be I'm known by ferocious ferocious you can't use the word ferocious and it's not ferocious love no it can't become a phrase no it's got to be ferocious love love correct oh I'm so glad that you saw that great so Andy Fashion that brings us to the end of the episode I'm going to touch on fashion not too much partly because uhoh yeah I just I'm not into much so far I feel bad saying that I just so we're seeing a lot of like formal gowns and these sort of shawl or like she wore that feather sleeve thing there was a brown Shaw with fur trim and like a gown I just don't know what like period this is in some ways it feels a little p like the rose ceremony dress with that brown fur trim Shaw and her hair half up I felt like that could have been like from like the from the '90s but not in like a cool oh the '90s or back kind of way it felt just kind of dated it aged her I think that's what I'm feeling about her fashion so far except for one look and this was Marcus's one-on-one date during the day where she's wearing that cropped that purple crop top thing with the cargo pants um like that didn't feel like it aged her it also felt very '90s actually but I didn't I also just didn't like it that much like I understand the mixing and matching of like a sort of fuzzy crop top and like cargo pants I don't know it's just nothing's like coming together for me in a way where I'm like oh I want that I want that oh how where is that from I'm with you I feel it too like I thought it seemed like that dress she had like two ungroomed poodles on her arms so you're talking about the group day the first group Day evening look yeah I didn't like it yeah she was wearing that satin kind of I don't know what shade that was it wasn't quite orange it wasn't quite gold and but and she had that that feather thing yeah I feel the clothes in my humble opinion are wearing her I feel bad saying that cuz maybe she did pick all these clothes and so maybe this is her taste I'm just I haven't seen Jen in the clothes I've seen theth on Jen age in my opinion okay Andy
