welcome back to on base live in your bleach Report app I am your host mookie bets and today we got my boy J Flair the fashion icon look at you dog you look good just sitting there you you look good I would say everybody here would agree you look good dog a man I'm just here with you yeah we just trying to we just trying to be you that's all whatever all right so starting off I want to uh play a game on base off base whether you're in uh whether you're in or out you know make sure you talk into the mic like hold it up I know you I know you look good and you cool but like okay all right wor all right okay so eating pumpkin seeds is better than sunflower seeds I'm in on that absolutely so you I've seen you and what is it about the pumpkin seeds man I don't know I I don't know what it is but it's just it I don't know it's just better I can't explain it I don't I don't I don't I don't know but so do you pop a bunch of them in your mouth and you can crack one at a time I tried it yeah and man I just go one at a time I think it just it just the repetitive nature of it doing something and having something going on cuz you're probably bored yeah I mean it's a lot of time to to we got a lot of time to fill yeah yeah yeah I'm not an eater I don't I don't really eat much during game I don't eat seeds or anything you playing yeah I guess oh you know in one time in Boston I had seeds and I dove for a Fly ball and swallowed the couple and so since then I haven't done I don't blame you for not doing that I don't know how guys do it I don't know how guys like chew seeds or what not and and go out and play I got you gone when I pitch but yeah but that's that's like a that's like a thing a whole yeah but okay so what about this Jason Tatum should have gotten more playing time in the Olympics your arm Bas are off I mean you know how I feel of course you should have of course you should have I don't I don't really know I don't really know what the deal is with that I mean like look I you could go really you could argue either way about it I mean they they won the whole thing they won it it is what it is but you going to bring a guy who's been on all MBA the last handful of years was in the MVP conversation and he can't like he can't sniff the floor like it it doesn't it doesn't make sense and but again they they won but I'm G say he should have I'm G say he should have played I'm G say he I don't know because I'm watch I was as I was watching it it seems like there the the flow and everything worked really really well and then when he was I mean when he was in he was fine too so I can't even I can't even say yeah I I don't I don't know I like if you win at the end of the day you win but it's hard to say it's hard to say that he shouldn't have uh okay what about this there's only one correct side in the Kendrick and dra be Drake beef that's a tough one um I don't think you can say that there's one correct side you think you think you think I mean I'm on a Kendrick I'm on a Kendrick side I mean yeah that's your but I can but I'm sure somebody could argue again I'll take I'll let somebody argue against me but I'm going to sit on my side so maybe maybe I am sitting on the there's only one side you're on the Kendrick side that's you're a Kendrick fan I'm a Kendrick fan I'm also a drake fan I'm also I mean Kendrick and a drake fan they both make good music yeah but when you see what he when you see what he did and what he did with the city when he he did his little popup show and you had everybody out there playing out like us over and over and over again you can't say that you can't say he didn't win you he had to bow out he had to bow out at that point uh call bow out uh Co that was that I think that was one of the smartest things I don't know what he knew but he knew something where he was like I'm out I'm I'm not doing immediately yeah so that was good but I I I I think I kind of agree with that man yeah can uh he went crazy once he did once they did the show Once they did the pop show that that and he had all them people there everybody yeah he had everybody out there what about this fantasy football is uh it's no joke like it's tough It's Real it's real everywhere I think I'm on base on that too yeah no it's real we have a team together yeah do you know the name of our team no I don't me neither I haven't been I I don't know what I don't know who's on our team I don't know what about team we just we just sponsor A Team guys uh we play cuz uh it's the thing to do in the major league club houses but do you take it real on other are you in any other teams or no I'm on zero other team I'm not a like I like football and I enjoy going to watch it okay but like to watch it on TV I can't do it it's kind of like yeah it's I'm not going to say it's like watching paint dry but it's it for me like maybe because I like doing stuff like I I would rather go play football like I love the game of football I would rather go play it but watching it no I can't do it that be different I'd rather watch it on TV than like going and watching really yeah for whatever reason I don't know what it is well regardless I'll be at the games sending you updates yeah I'll be there and you got to be watching Red Zone at home yeah I'll be I have my feet kicked up watching reson just sit there on a Sunday that's my Sundays I don't do nothing so do you have any guys that you hope we got on our team cuz I don't I again I don't know who's on our team I don't know who our first pick was and I was we were at the draft and I don't yeah I I think we pulled a couple of them I I still don't remember who was on it I don't remember who who was there I remember I was sit I remember sitting there though and I wanted to to to mess with them and I wanted to pick somebody just to see just to see Cam's reaction while while we were sitting there I was I was sitting there with Hy I wanted to I wanted to just pick somebody see if he freaked out okay so what about this Otani will have the first 50/50 season I'm I'm in on that I think I'm in on that dude I'm not realizing maybe because I'm playing every day I'm not realizing he's getting one in one like every other game it's it's unbelievable since being over here it is like you hear and you see the highlights and everything but then I see it every day and every time he comes up there it's like he's going to do something he's going to do something I mean every it's first pitch of the game we're up one nothing and like I'm hitting second I'm like I don't even know whether the swing or not because he's going to steal second so it's like let him steal second it's it's it's incredible oh man I mean he's he's uh One of a Kind yeah okay so enough of the game I want to get into this because you're you're you're from LA and so you you always got some swag on what do you have a stylus do you dress yourself what what are we doing do your mama dress you who who who dresses you my mama dressed me for a long time growing up uh no I do I do have stylist but like this all it all started I don't know after high school once once started getting into pro ball a little bit you started seeing that's where the NBA started to kind of take off and uh yeah that was a good one I like that shirt I like that shirt the bag kind of pulled it pulled it down a little bit but it made it look good it made it look like you trying to be sexy no um you know that that was that was like the time like when uh when Russ kind of started to transform the NBA and that was like I kind of like what kind of like what he's doing and then uh as it went on like you know it just it just kept transforming and whatnot my my girl Jordan she uh she takes care of me she she brings me kind of whatever I need and we put some things together um and then I got a different guy Brandon who who we do Suits now we don't wear suits anymore in the big leag but when I you know when I think when you when you were coming up and while I was coming up it was especially in St Louis we were every flight was a suit or a jacket so I was like I remember I like originally reached out to him cuz I was like I don't know the first thing about like trying to dress with a with a suit and what I know anything about that I could do um like casual just fine but then when it came to that I was like I reached out to this guy Brandon and uh we started working together we started doing a bunch of things and uh so we still we still do suits and whatnot but you know we don't we don't wear suits nearly as much no I feel like once you elevate in the like making suits look good that that means like you have accomplished like casual wear like you've won casual wear I mean we had yeah we had to do it and and if I was going to wear a suit or do something like that I was like was like I just I want to do it right and so for me that's where that's where we like so you don't really wear do you wear suits at all like not not even like a jacket or I I will when it's colder so in the beginning of year in St Louis we wore I wore a couple kind of dress it down a little bit but I mean there's sometimes I wish we wore suits a little bit more well you you can always rock it though I mean May Come play off time we we'll see whate start day especially we're going to get to that we going to get to that okay so I do want to talk a little bit about you and this year and really kind of going all the way back to kind of 2019 when you had probably one of the better years that you've ever had and so then you had a little some injuries some stuff happened and then now you're back to Jack flare so can you take me through that that time of you know being at the alltime high because everybody goes through it everybody does it right and so you kind of take me through that time yeah I think I've you know 19 like the first half was a lot of up and down and then I had kind of you know went crazy in the second half and uh you know and then it it you know went into the playoffs and whatnot and I was at I was pitching as as well as like I could have ever imagined doing the big leagues and it was like exactly you know everything you wanted to do when you finally all together and you're enjoying it and you're living your dream it was just like it was special and then you go into the next year and getting ready for that season and Co hits and it was like you know that kind of that was that was tough because I was ready to just continue off that momentum and continue that thing going and then you get into Co and I make the first start and then the co why did Co how did Co affect you there was so much there was so much momentum going into that year here going riding off the second half of of 19 and into the playoffs and I pitched one playoffs and then running into going into that uh that spring training there was so much momentum and everything and it just things just felt good with the team with myself and everything it was just like all right we're going to do this again like we just just keep it going and mentally I was completely there and then when with covid going home for a little bit it was kind of a like are we going to do this this year and towards the end of it I was like I I don't as I was in on all those calls and everything and didn't feel like we were going to play and so it just then it was like mentally okay we got to we got to check back in I was still working doing everything I possibly could um and then with covid I think the worst part of it was making the first start and then sitting around for like 20 I sat around I didn't make another start for a month because we sat around for for 10 days cuz we had Games canceled because guys got covid um you know go to 21 get off to a good start tear my oblique and in LA in that um and that was the first time I dealt with like a real injury in my life and that was aough it sucked it sucked man yeah first one understand that first one it just sucked and then come back make two starts and hurt like hurt my shoulder that doesn't feel good go in playoffs play the wild card game don't pitch going the next year shoulders still messed up and so that was just a long process of trying to figure out what was going on with my shoulder and you know it was a small mechanical fix and then go through last year struggle you want to be want to be great kind of deal with some of the ups and downs of uh going into free agency you know is that one year like okay you've been in you've been hurt the last two years like you want to go out and maybe try a little bit too hard try to do things differently there's a bunch of other things going on and then uh you sit down at the end of the year once it's all over and you're like all right what do I need to do to get back to being me and so made a bunch of changes moved um went back to trainer that change scenery change of scenery yeah moved got out of got out of La moved for was was back and forth for for my off season I typically spend my off seasons in LA but move back and forth between there and Vegas and then uh you know just had to change change things mentally figure some things out move different and then got a shot in Detroit and and those guys care me you know they uh they got me back to being me nice that's good you know I there is a uh Will Will Smith had said something on I don't even know where he said it but anyways it's on Instagram somewhere I saw where he said like the difference between being good and great is is huge it's a really big difference in it to me I just heard you say want I want to be great and you took the time to say exactly what Will Smith said you have to sometimes you have to change how you eat change who your friends are change your scenery all those things and so you took the time to do that for yourself and now you're you're reaping the benefits but before we get to to now in St Louis you had wayo you had yachty uh I don't even know who else you had who else uh I mean Walka was there for a little bit Albert Pool was thereo yeah you had all these guys had a bun guys and did what did you learn what did you learn from those guys I learned a bunch from each and every one of them from from yachty especially having yachty back there I mean wasn't like pitching to him he may this is I mean it's not a knock to any other like catcher will has been phenomenal you go down the list I've thrown a bunch of guys are great there's differences he makes he gives you that confidence to just whatever he calls you throw um but also when you talk to him and you started when I started develop that relationship and in you know 2019 uh CU he was hurt a little bit and so we got we actually got to to talk because typically he's he's always working while he's at the field so you don't really get that time and we got to talk in and you know he just taught me different things about the way that he sees the game the way that he goes about it um you know did he ever say anything that you that made no sense to you no I don't think so I think he he said he said a bunch of things that clicked um just in how he goes about hitters he's like you know cuz too many I think too many times as pitchers we uh I try not to give too much away but we try to pitch towards hitters weaknesses like the whole time instead of going towards our strength you got to switch it up yeah and so you got he's like you got to remember to pitch to your strengths regardless of who's hidden and you know situation will will change the way that uh the way that you go about it and then you know weno I was lucky enough that you know he sat down with me in 2017 right after I got called up I told a story before but last game of the season you know how it is last game of the season and you're already you're eliminated everybody's going home yeah but he sat with me in in in the clubhouse for two hours after after the game just let me ask him every single question I could think of took notes everything and that was like that was a cool thing for me just to sit down with him for two hours and and really pick his brain and then uh that's super dope yeah but then you had other guys come back you had Chris Carpenter who I still talk to all time and you know and then Bob Gibson a little bit who was oh nice okay that's that's that was a that was special so then you start this year and you're in Detroit throwing well and your name is getting thrown around you're going to get traded um then you get traded here and you're basically coming home yeah how does it feel playing at home crazy really yeah you have a lot of friends that come every time you pitch like I'm every everybody come everybody comes and I I've downplayed it a lot like I just I had to especially the first one um first one at home first one in Oakland was was special putting the uniform on and getting that opportunity and then coming home the first one and you know I pitched there a bunch right but it was different going out for the first inning song everything it was just like like I that's the first time in a while I've moved a little quick like I moved fast um but it's it's been great coming home being able to like you don't really get to see you know family and friends all too often like being in St Louis Detroit like it's a it's tough trip for for people to make and you know they all work and whatnot so it it's always nice coming back to LA and being able to catch up with them for a couple days but being here for longer it's it's been it's been special does it give you like a sense of normaly a little bit like like when you wake up you can go hang out with your homies or or whatever it is you can go home get you your mom to cook you a meal or something yeah that was that was that was one of the things we we uh one one of our family friends we we always do like we do Thanksgiving Christmas at their house so and we always even during the off season we just get together and do a do a dinner so we we got dinner there the night before the first one and just felt like felt like home man it was and you know it's a little it's a different feeling yeah so it was it's been cool it's been really cool and there's the picture that you posted about uh with your mom you and moms and you had the LA hat on so take tell me about Young Jack Young Jack okay he hooped growing up play baseball growing up did you play football only flag she wouldn't let me play tackle she's a smart woman yeah she was so play flag what position did you play in the flag play quarterback receivers say you know when you okay you probably did the same yeah I did same in in high school so in high school what uh basketball and baseball in school I played basketball for two months oh and then I stopped why did you stop I didn't want to not play baseball it it was so was so light so I was going from depending on the day and for me it was just a same thing like that I always did Growing Up depending on the day I would go I would leave school I'd go to um baseball CU we did they did you know optional workouts in the fall and winter okay weren't like required so but really like in the fall and I'd go to baseball and then we'd have basketball at night and I'd go from baseball and then i' get a ride from baseball back to CU our school our basketball our baseball field is off campus and I get a ride back and I go to basketball at night and I go to practice and I would I was doing that so much or I would go to baseball and then I would go to a basketball game at night and I was doing that so much our our baseball coach came and he's like you're going to burn out like there's no way you can keep doing this and I was like this is what I've done forever and he's like this I want want you to do I want you to go play basketball and that's fine and I and I people kind of took it as him wanting me to to use it as a way to get me to play baseball but that wasn't the case he was like go play basketball like do that come back in once the season's over we'll get you in shape you're going to play you'll probably play JV for two weeks MH and then we'll get you in with the team and I didn't I didn't want to I didn't want to do that it I my first love was always baseball I think I had gone one period of time in my life not playing I got hurt when I was like 12 12 or 13 and I didn't I just didn't want to not play it I was okay giving up basketball part of me now looking back wishes I still did it wishes I played football in high school just because it would have been a fun thing to do y but that was the decis I was just like I he was like oh you're good and I sat on it for two days I was like look I I'm I'm having more fun playing baseball night basketball at this point basketball for me was it always came second my my mentor who was my basketball coach like growing up he always told me he's like I don't know if you realized it but you would skip like you'd skip our practices you'd skip whatever for baseball but you never skip baseball for basketball and so it just you know there yeah it was just the same thing oh nice okay okay so then and tell me your team your high school team ridiculous yeah we didn't win with that one though but it was you didn't win with that one no that was me Max and Lucas you Max freed yeah Lucas G yeah y'all were all on the same team and we had probably six other guys go D1 and y'all didn't win no we didn't win oh I guess it's California though so you probably playing yeah we're playing we're playing teams but but gilo got hurt that year he uh oh he didn't pitch he was probably G to go he was probably going to go 1-1 like that was the Korea buckton year and he was in talks like going to go in that 1 to to top five range and he got hurt uh he got hurt still went I don't know I think he went 16th or overall but that's crazy yeah he uh and he ended up getting TJ like right after it but he got hurt so I mean I was I was still a sophomore so doesn't matter Max I know we we were still doing that we still doing that doesn't matter I know we was still doing it and and and how was it how was it playing with those guys oh much fun was Max was a stud Lucas was Lucas was a stud like facing both of them in high school was crazy the first time I was like oh this is this is different than the other people we were facing uh but Max was a stud he's like he wins gold gloves and everything on the mountain like I could only imagine did he was he did he play a center field or something he play right field he he could he could hit he look he could done it he could done you saw he won he won last silver suer for pitchers yeah bro like just seeing he's an athlete yes you could tell I think at that point I had only ever lost like two races in my life and he he beat Max was so he's just an allaround whatever an athlete yeah he he he could he could do it all in high school he still could and he can hoop and he can hoop and he can hoop he did he did all of that yeah and did he did he hoop in high school he hooped before he so he was at a different school and he hooped there for three years and he came over and it was just it was all baseball but he hoop we still mess we go we still go Che around offseason sometimes he still got it he lives here uh yeah oh nice I is okay so tell me about your minor league time in St Louis because um once you got drafted you go I want to hear some minor league things because I know going through the minor leagues is a grind it's a it's an allout grind so tell me about the St Louis minor leagues um I mean it's it's Martin Lings was was was different you know we get shipped like you know leave home especially for you cuz you high school yeah you went the I know but I'm saying you were with your fan yeah and then you're immediately immedi GCL yeah immediately going to GCL it's probably Luke Weaver will enjoy this story he was uh he was my first roommate in GCL and you know I I live in a home forever I didn't I ain't never had to do laundry before in my life I had to ask weave I was like we' we cuz he was going to do laundry I was like hey I need to do some as well and we're in the like the hotel and I was like you want to teach me how to do laundry and he was like he looked at me he was like what do you mean I was like I don't I don't know what I'm doing like I call and ask but like I've never had to do this before so that was that was like a growing up moment and and weave took that he he uh did he help you of course he did he's a good dude he's yeah he is a good dude for that cuz that's crazy it was it was but then you know you get shipped off pure Illinois you know me and two other guys in a in a bedroom but that was one of those where you see those memes where was like all all dudes need a in an apartment is like a TV and a bed that was us we went out and bought like six mattresses I would I would stack one on top of the other okay slept on that had a TV in the room that's all was that was it that was it you weren't doing anything else in there you you were either at the field or in field go home play some video games and you're back the field exactly that was it and so did you have fun in the M leagues I did like we enjoyed like I lived with I live with Austin gomber who's with the Rockies now for for uh all my whole time there and it was just my first two years were were long cuz there was no movement you just it was pretty much we stayed at one level the whole time went through the the grind of it tried to figure out different things and then uh really took off in 17 when I got to dou a went to when dou a triaa big leagues and like doublea was fun we just had it was a it was a good group of dudes uh good team and then you go to Triple A you look at some of the Triple A teams that that I was lucky to be a part of in 17 and part of 18 like big leaders up and down like that that team so th those were special but like minor leagues was was fun it was just it was just it was different you you get those bus rides you get those 16 hour bus rides going from Springfield uh down to Texas and get up and Pitch the next day and you think about you know things that we We complain about now when it when it comes to travel or or you look at training rooms and and whatnot and you fig think about all the things that you were able to do like you didn't have the recovery tools you didn't have the food nothing and just went out we get Bouie dog that's what it is we do and you think about it and it's like we used to sit on 16 hour bus ride we like nice things it is what it is okay so now you're with now you're with us and we're playing all right doing uh taking care of business but we got to keep going we got to keep going you know uh everybody's com in our next but you know going into postseason we haven't had great success in postseason right it's hard to win it is hard to win and obviously last year everybody's you know we we didn't do a lot of things well we got bounced really quick I you know I didn't get a hit I was over 20 or 12 or whatever I mean and uh but it doesn't matter it it it's hard and you know when you take the mountain for us barring we make the postseason I don't want to make anybody mad you know how special that's going to be and how tough it's going to be do you like Especial for you being at home but you know how tough it's going to be yeah it's fun that's what you have it's fun man that's what you qu qualify as fun yeah 100% like that's what it is it's fun man you get to go into that's stress that's good you get to go into you go in there for me like I don't I don't get to pitch every game but everyone is like it's like a heavyweight fight that's what it is you going you're you're going in it's it's going to be high intensity pressure filled like lot of fun and it's just like that's it you get those juices flowing and it's just like man in the sixth inning it's two outs and the man it's second and third and it's a onew count I'd be stressed out there get the ju get the juices flowing and I I haven't I haven't had I mean I started games in in 19 I started in 20 with with covid but uh since then like I missed 21 22 I didn't get in I pitched two innings last year with with Baltimore out of the pan and uh but every time it like going into that like it's it's just it's fun I don't know what it is it's a lot of fun in La man they they I mean I'm just like St Louis I can only imagine or anywhere else you know any other team in the playoffs you know La shows up they show up and they do it right and you know we just got to get there and it's fun man it's F the good thing we got that that's different this year is sh Show we got show so when in doubt he's a unicorn we just let when wait till sh hit and then hopefully something good happens he's a unicorn yeah he is it's a it's a it's a super special I do want to say this though when you pitch in playoffs and you're at home are you going to see any your friends your family or anything are you kind of going I mean I won't change what I what how I normally am on uh okay on tell me about that about your game day routine cuz I what you think first time no you're not you're you're you know what you're approachable your face is not like oh get away from me but your face is like you can enter the space for a quick second but get up out of here which I understand I respect it I go in I see you if we make eye contact then I'll daap you up but I ain't going to call your name and tell you to turn around and shake my hand you know cuz you ain't really you'll get a what's up and that's about that's about it yeah that's it that's it but you okay so tell me about your day I mean so yeah at home like I probably won't I I won't see nobody night before I won't really won't see anybody maybe like might go I might go to my if it's a day game I might go to my mom's hang out for a little bit maybe have some friends come over like nothing but I just stay off off my feet and the day of like just I just hang out alone like I just so you hang out alone what time do you get to the park for 7 7:00 game anywhere between 300 3:30 about 4 hours three and a half hours before the game 3 330 what's the first thing you do 3 330 all right first thing go in make a couple different drinks that that I've just been accustomed to making throughout the years like you guys they want to take care of everything and I'm like I've just been accustomed to going in doing it myself so I just go in and make a couple different drinks try to hydrate whatnot little combos that have worked for me do that go in and make a PB&J um and then I take all that and go in the video room and put my headphones in and and just go through go through their team go through their lineup and I give myself about 45 minutes and I and I I cap it at 45 minutes CU I used to do it for longer and then you just start trying to remember everything and I'm like if I don't know it by now I I'm not going to learn any I'm not going to learn anything new or remember anything new so if I don't know it by now I was like going in for a test when I was in school like you only even going to review it for so long right and so I take that do that so then however long is after that say that's like 2 and a half hours before the game I'll go lay on training room table for 30 minutes play some games on my phone just do nothing and then uh but I'm not I'm not I'm not really talking to anybody I just kind of go and observe I just sit on my talk I don't yeah I don't know I tried it I tried it last year tried talking I tried being more approachable like more relaxed and it's not that I'm not relaxed but I try to be more approachable and more uh just like normal and like hey like yo like we good like just whatever and then like try to turn it on two hours before the game and I mean if you look at the number it didn't work and so about halfway through the year it was like my age and I sat down and he's like what's going on I was like I'm trying to do this whole approachable thing and it just it's not working like it's not me and if I went and again doing deep Dives looking back into things looking into 2019 one my teammates toota Hudson he's like you just go in he he called it Jack's world and he was like that's what you enter and he's like you don't come out until the game's over and so we tried to tried to find different ways to do that and then two hours before the game taking close my eyes for eight and a half minutes you so two two hours before the game at five o'clock 5:00 Clos my eyes for8 minutes yeah about eight eight and a half minutes why specifically eight I don't know it it started one time I think I did 15 and then this is I don't say I don't say superstitious but I'm I'm I work on Vibes and if things work they work and if not then they're out so if you go 10 minutes yeah so I I think one day I was like late oh okay and was probably in the video room too long was late I was like I got about eight eight and a half minutes so I was like all right let's just do that and I think I probably went out and pitched well and I was like all right we just going to do that we just so we're GNA close your eyes for eight minutes yeah just so now 2 hours for the game so it's 5:00 so now it's 5:08 yeah now what do you do we got our meeting I got my meeting at 5:15 okay uh that's five minutes five minutes in and out be done and then I'm in the wait room an hour 25 minutes for the game so I can't I can't do I think that's 5:45 M depending on if it's a 710 game it's 5:45 I'm in the wait room I'm in there until I don't know I just know I just know I'm I'm in the I'm back in the training room an hour before the game doing a couple arm exercises okay and I go from there I'm outside 50 minutes before and I just sit there for about 10 minutes sit outside for 10 minutes and now's my chance to take everything in and just like all right this is going to be fun like and especially being in LA and looking up and being like okay I'm home like I'm going to enjoy this for the next like8 minutes 8 n 8 10 minutes Andes just sit there and uh then we go out stretch for stretch for 10 minutes stretch for five minutes and then this year I started sitting and like do a quick five minute meditation and uh to try to just be present play catch 30 minutes before the game uh on the mound about 20 then I'm done about 8 minutes eight minutes before the game I don't know what it is man it's just and why don't you just be number eight cuz K got it is exactly you guys had all you guys had all the numbers so yeah and then we go in and whatnot and I I I don't know I do that weird thing where I come in I don't really shake anybody's hand put my stuff down but I make sure like I go through and I got to get I got to get everybody yeah you yeah I make sure I get everybody yeah all right all that's that's cool okay so we got a game it's called Guest The Hitter our producer last time we I think we did pictures and it was Cakewalk so hopefully hopefully he got his right made it tough man cuz told him he he got me mad so easy on here man you know what I'm saying so anyways got it's going to be a silhouette of a hitter okay we got to guess who it is schorer that's schworer yeah that that was so yeah he it's he's a really unique uh skill set because it's like he bangs bangs he bangs he bangs bangs but then he don't really like he don't really care about doing I ain't going to say care but like his ability to play defense is not good but he don't really he Embraces it he he need to if he hits like that he doesn't if he hits like that yeah it doesn't matter he he can he can freaking swing it he can swing it and he's he's homered in like all big games so WBC world everything you SE yeah where every single big game he's homered in he's he's got it he's got it all right so next one Jose Ramirez yeah that's Jose Ramirez that that dude right right there is really good at baseball dude he's he's one of those where people would ask who's most underrated and and he's still that guy right there still like forever Reon like a big Market team his name would be going crazy he's unbelievable yeah he's unbelievable yeah yeah yeah all right two for two Lindor that's Lindor I Know That Swing I'll take your word for it crazy to oh he used to yeah he well so he used put it on his on his shoulder that's why I was thinking of yeah yeah he moved his hand yeah he's going crazy now he's been unbelievable of late he's been he's been really really good yes I mean he's always been really good but like now he's really I mean even now I mean he's been grown into who he is and he I think he really loves in New York too it fits him he's loving it he's like you swaggy that's Bobby Wht yep yeah you quick with it it comes in my head and I'm like all right yeah you just say he uh is dope seeing him too like the season he he it's like everybody's talking about it season but they're not talking about it season can't because you got Jud in show man but this season is ridiculous it's one of those where he's put together a special year but it's just the wrong time where you got judged bad time just you yeah it's tough and then like to have the SE to have that season again and again to give yourself a chance to win and have that yeah have that year and then going to the playoffs it's like probably goingon to be in the playoffs and everything and what he's been able to do for them it's been great special all right so next one y yeah that's y yeah that's y I can tell by the little the little follow through after follow the little follow through afterwards yeah yeah man you know I love that dude man every time I see him I get to talk to him he always comes out for VP and he's just a great dude do you catch up with the guys off like I I I a little I mean I not too much cuz I do a lot like when I get to the field I get there late yeah and when I get there I'm usually doing something the whole time yeah and so I I try and see him you know during BP or if they're out during BP yeah or or pregame but other than that I don't really get to uh catch up too much I'm not a guy that gets there and hangs out like I when I'm at work I like to work you're in you're working and then that's it yeah yeah I got you all right the next one please yeah that's a stud hey that is a stud right there that swing sticks out yeah that dude I think he uh I think he just in some type of record now for 200 I think he's got 200 homers for a lefty or some something I don't know he's unbelievable but he uh he's won World Series World Series MVP twice right yeah God he wed in LA and then uh was Texas he hits the ball so hard yeah he does all right next one please Cruz yeah Ellie Ellie that's Ellie that uh his his skill set is because he throws it so hard runs so fast hits it hard I mean he does everything yeah everything everything it's cool getting to watch him getting to like getting to play against him and see like the stuff that he does yeah each and every day he he does it all he does it all I mean like like it's it's really it's really neat to see where the game of baseball is now you know those guys that are really doing I mean yeah I in different ways uh I think we got a couple more these are we're going to have to get some that's Jo oh my gosh that that that swing right there there's only one man that like that and he tattoos oh my goodness yeah it was a he he's a he's a gym as a person too man he he get you know jock it off not really man he he's he's awesome dude I've only heard good things he's awesome I've only he good things and he shows up to the park ready to play he puts confidence in you and like I think he loves hitting he loves hitting he loves hitting all right we got one more two more actually trout yes Mike Trout that's a slider that looks like it's a homer yep yep can't throw there that dude all right we got we got one more karita that's Des oh yeah yeah that's Des that dude have you are you familiar with his swing at all or yeah yeah just in in terms of facing him yeah he stays so open like that yeah he uh I getting to see him when he was young and now to see who he is it's it's when did he come up I want to say it was like n 18 s 18 19 I want to say and he was just young and just he didn't really he knew how to play baseball but he didn't really know how to put it together to play baseball and then he eventually just now he's he covers everything now he's Rafael De he can always hit though always he covers everything okay so now I got some fan questions okay and uh but the first question is for me you went to you you grew up in La yeah did you ever aspire to be an actor no never why not never that just wasn't it wasn't what we did all everything we did was sports related you didn't want to act at all you didn't have like you didn't have acting in school no never I I never never once thought about it really yeah they didn't try to recruit you into the into the fashion I mean into the the runway world and all other other stuff nothing no no wow no they never never I think we did we did a c I don't I don't even know we did we did one thing for uh my uh my uh one of my teachers in school he taught uh he did all the plays and whatnot and I think he was I think when he was he wasn't retiring but he had been there for a certain amount of time it was my senior year and they had us do a little dance whatnot on stage low performance for him I mean it was it was five of us baseball guys so there was nowhere to hide we had to do a little performance for him it's on YouTube somewhere it's a nice little nice little piece of course but that's as far as we got I never thought about acting oh my God never thought about it okay I got uh there's a question of who would win in a in a one-onone game between myself and you in basketball I'm going to take me of course you are you're a competitor I'm going to take me because you didn't you stopped playing in high school that's fine how long did you keep playing oh I played all the way through high school I was going to play in college but you know they called me said I was going to get Dred they said yeah so they said you going to play they called me and so but yeah I uh so I'm the opposite of you about me I grew up and I was missing baseball practice because I had to bowl uh I had bowling and right from bowling bowling always started at three we got a 3:30 so I'll be done bowling by 5:36 basketball game started at 7 so I was getting the car driving to the game yeah and I was playing my basketball game and so I didn't start playing baseball until I was done bowling and playing basketball and so I always started baseball a little bit behind and uh I would eventually catch up or whatever and I and like if I didn't have a bowling match not bowling games bowling match that's what they're called okay to be politically correct just make sure um if I didn't have a bowling match that day I would go hit in the cage hang out or whatever before the game but uh we made sure to schedule all of my bowling matches on basketball game days so I didn't have to miss basketball practice interesting so you never want to miss basketball never wanted to miss basketball even during the summer even during the summer I probably played more basketball than I did baseball I would miss I would tell my dad dad I don't want to go to Alabama or Florida or whatever to go play baseball I'mma go hoop with my boys and whatever so he would he would allow me to do that so baseball uh yeah I love baseball I I grew to love baseball but I really love basketball so I'm taking me that you take you I'll take me that's just I was like you say through this whole thing I'm still going to take me nothing in it it do anything okay so uh who's got the best style in the league there's a bunch of guys that they got swag I mean I'm going to exclude myself but I'm I'm going to put myself there okay so you're excluding yourself but you're going to put yourself yeah of course so I'm just it was it was just it was without it it was just it was just like okay okay it was already it was a given okay so excluding yourself within including yourself of course it is okay so you but not you yeah but you you can you can you you can be on that list am I included or excluded you can be included man okay okay you really want to get you want to get correct with this you want me to correct my grammar I'll do that I'll get hey I may only have a high school education but that's a good one it's a good one but I think like jazz got some swag Lind Jazz Frankie y um Willie adamus has some swag I haven't seen Willie Willie got some swag uh really a lot of I would say the Latin Community as they can do it has swag like they really are slept on you want to know somebody who does who Kent MAA MAA yeah you want to go like Mak sense it makes sense cuz Yoshi doesi Yoshi does Yoshi show a little bit like they that's maybe Yoshi may actually be I haven't seen a lot but he may dude he his he knows how to dress and his like man Pur thing is it's second yeah it's like he he is probably the Kim K of of of oh yeah he's got the bags he's got everything D yeah those guys Yoshi and has been good Kenta could Kenta could do it as well yeah yeah I don't know I I ain't never really I just saw him this I just saw him this year a little bit and I was like okay yeah yeah yeah okay so next question we got uh what's your favorite thing to do in LA that's such a that's such a weird question that like people ask me what I like to do like like to do much I just like to hang out with my friends like I just like to kick with my friends if people ever ask me like uh what is there to do in like what you what you do on off like I don't do much as it is I'll just get together with my friends we hang out at the house do nothing you know like we are we are the literal group like we will sit around and we will talk about the most random things for hours and people ask what did you guys talk about be like I have no idea we we talked about this sporting we talked about this game from you know 2000 whatever like we just we got a crazy memory when it comes to sports we just sit around we we talk about whatever so but if you were in another state would you go if I was in another state and coming coming to La no no no if you were going to another state like would you go hiking or would you go are you like you don't do museums aquariums no I go to movies movies I'll go movies and I'll go by myself so we need to get you a AMC card yeah popcorn or no exactly popcorn pocorn I'll go by myself I don't need do you ever sneak in your own food no so you I don't need to yeah I buy buy it there not you man I seen on Instagram the other day M I'mma go get our uh bab what's the baby carrier stroll no it's not a stroller what's the baby carrier called and I got kids yeah you why you asking me I don't whatever it's called the baby carrier we're going to name it a baby car and I'm going to go get me some wings and fries uh-huh and I'm going put the wings and fries in there put but see why you need wings and fries at the movie like I just need some popcorn I ain't go in there to buy the food well I'm going to eat and eat the popcorn I just need the popcorn that's the difference okay well yeah I'm hungry and I I refuse to pay $12 that's fair you know what I'm saying so I'mma go get my food put it in the baby care blank it over baby car I for you to figure out what it's called yeah I don't know what it's called dog I ain't going to think no more you know it is what it is man uh okay one more question so uh you have a I actually got two more questions all right you have a jersey collection yeah do do you collect jerseys like from other players or yeah what's your favorite one who's your favorite one not necessarily person or this that and the other like the person that you really enjoyed watching or the X Y and Z what like you know what I got his jersey that that's super cool um for me it was Jeter and my in mine is like you know I I got in in 2014 and like I've gotten jerseys I've gotten big po you know other people's jerseys but like jeters was like man cuz that's who I grew up watching yeah and you know I was shaking when I got to meet him you know what I'm saying so that that's mine it's probably I think Wayne doesn't hate me saying this but it's probably kers kers yeah probably is like what did you get it this year or before no I got it what year was it I think it was 21 I think 21 was was when I got it was when uh I finally like started doing that started like realizing what was going on like I had gotten a jersey sign by wayo and and yotti the year prior and I like got a kers one and and uh and sent it over and had him do it but just growing up in LA and and whatnot like yeah first time meeting him I was you know waya went ahead and introduced me and uh was just a just a cool thing but you know you try to play it cool what not but it's not that's a whole thing yeah yeah yeah yeah and then my last question is for me again when you're working out and you got this shirt on and you got the sleeves cut off I was ask what you mean the shirt on you got this shirt on and the sleeves are cut off and it's cut all the way down to the bottom yeah why so the shirt the way it's it's cut for that for when I pitch and it just happens to that's just when I wear it in the Wai room what not and do that it's cut for that for when I pitch because so I don't know what it was but I wear the three quarters to start the game and I've always done that since I was in high school and come 2019 man it's too hot in St Louis to continue to do that so one game I just we I had our our trainer like cut cut uh one of the short sleeves cut it and he cut it but it was like uncomfortably tight so I was like all right I need you to go lower and so he cut it lower and it and it and it went down there and he cut super tight here but I'm very particular it can't be it can't be out here covering my shoulder it's got to be in so if it's covering your shoulder you won't be able to throw it just don't feel right it's uncomfortable it's in the way so I just we cut it all the way down it it's it's one of the things in particular about that my every day your you pitch there's extra there's that that extra shirt up there and I'm like that's he just wasted the shirt n I'm going to I'm going to change my shirt some point you just the shirt but you know you do what you got to do hey I'm going to change my shirt whatever at a certain point but you know guys do different things yeah I feel it I feel it well anyways Jack I know you got to go uh we got to go to work but you won you don't have to go to work today got anyways um thanks for coming on brother and uh I'm glad we finally are teammates yes sir uh I'm glad you are here to to help us in uh many ways winning the World Series being the main one and uh but it it's been uh super dope really to to be on the same side obviously we been on other sides and we haven't we get to talk but not really talk too much and even now we don't really get to talk a whole lot cuz we're both working but feel like I've gotten to know you so much more just by being in the same space and uh and and whatnot so uh thanks for being uh super dope bro and you got to uh introduce me to some of your uh your fashion folks out in La man I need to be looking good too you know my my she she get me right you know what I'm saying but I want I want to know some of Jack people too you look good whatever you need whatever you need where my city all right guys uh we will catch you next time on
