they were letting it eat today they were hitting mistakes but they were working counts to get mistakes and they absolutely capitalized on Cardinal pitching scoring big in three different Innings that's what you do you score early you score often you score late they did in the first the fourth and the sixth getting it done today yeah Willie adamus wasting no time to continue his streak five straight games hitting a home run Tim it comes in the bottom of the first two on two out part of the formula that the Brewers have for a winning you know strategy strategery is seeing a lot of pitches they see more pitches per game than anyone in baseball and so here they got Palante on the ropes this is coming after a six- pitch walk to Bowers and adamus just keeps fouling balls off fouls off four of them uh and then finally gets something he can handle with a fast ball listen don't go middle middle fast ball on Willie adamus right now cuz that's a three-eyed Willie that's a three-run home run put the Brewers on the Bor this is the first inning making the starter throw 26 pitches in that inning got him out after five innings when it starts right there with long at bats and then making him pay for it five straight games for the home run the longest streak of his career the longest active streak in Major League Baseball he also extends his hitting streak now to 11 consecutive games five straight games with a home run in Brewers history he ties Eric FES and Jeremy Bernett for the most so no player has done it in Brewers history in six consecutive games we know Willie is going to be thing going here how did you feel about that at bat Willie and just the day that you had no it was a great bet you know um we were B we were battling you know he was making good pictures and you know at the end he gave me a good pitch to hit and the ball was carrying a little bit today so I took advantage of that Andre Palante gave you all eight fast balls were you expecting anything else in that at bat for the Homer I mean the last pitch I was I didn't I was not sure if he was going to do it again but I stay on it cuz you know that's how that's how he did that a bat and you know I had a really good one in the last the last one and I got you know I came on top you've talked about just how much you love those situations you get even more locked in with runners on base but to tie Ken Griffey Jr and have the most of any player in baseball history with that category Willie what does that mean to you I mean it's it's an honor it's a pleasure you know I mean for to for me to to have my name um right next to his is it's just an honor you know it's something that I never thought it would happen and you know I'm just it's just a special moment for me and my family and you know I'm just happy to be right next to him I andan that's why they call him the kid best birthday you've ever had so far yeah all right happy birthday congrats on the WW thank you sopie thank you Willie three-run home runs for Willie adamus so he has 24 games left in the regular season to find himself a top of the most three run home runs in a single season anytime you find yourself on a list with Ken Griffey Jr Tim you're doing something right yeah that's a that's a pretty good list of Who's Who and I bet if you ask Ken Griffey Jr he probably has no idea this stat exists he just like I just hit a bunch of home runs no big deal but uh you know happy birthday to to Willie but happy birthday to the Brewers too I mean that was it's just everybody is celebrating this uh that he just he kind of puts everybody at ease in the big moments and he did it in the first inning today and he's doing it in a big way really all season long he has a chance at career high at home run runs he's only two away from that uh how about career-high in RB 99 RB now just such an impactful season for him each time he walks to the plate you have to stop what you're doing and watch just to put a little more perspective on 13 three-run home runs that ties him with the Rockies and the giant as a team to have done it and that's more than five other teams in Major League Baseball that will Adamas 133 run home runs and while we're talking special talents Jackson chrio add another one to his highlight reel today in the sixth inning B is loaden we've seen this story before from the 20-year-old yeah hang know took their eyes off the ball but you look at the Grand Slams this season that's Cheerio second on the year right up there right up next to the Diamondbacks uh what what's interesting about Cheerio particular home run is he actually uh walked the three previous at bats I think that was the goal they were like don't let this kid beat you he's 20 years old don't let him beat you Palante walked him three times that's the only time in his young career of this season that he's walked three times in a game he's walked twice two other times uh but right here he's like I want to swing the bat what do you do you hang a slider to him can't make mistakes to him right now he's locked in it's in 4k IMAX for him right now you got to make better pitches they didn't he made him pay is that a credit to him being more patient at the plate or just the way guys are pitching him at this point I think he was looking for his pitch to get he didn't get it and he end up walking he only walked six times in August so he's already halfway there for the month of September in day two so I I think what he is is he's like I'm going to take what they give me but they've been pitching to him lately and then for whatever reason the first three at bats they're like we're not going to let him do any damage uh and then he does it in his fourth at bat so the Brewers had a grand slam a three-run home run by adamus a two-run home run by ree Hoskins this is the first time since July 1st 2022 that they had a two-run three-run end Grand Slam in the same game so I mean anytime you can take runs off the board anytime a pitcher does his job anytime the bullpen does Immaculate work you got to talk about it uh when it comes down to what the Brewers have put in place it's about taking advantage of other people's mistakes and that's exactly what they did the Cardinals tried to pull the old Brewers trick play and they end up getting a man out at home they didn't have a lot of opportunities to score they didn't have a lot of guys on base uh and that's an easy quick out uh and then you you immediately play off that momentum Garrett Mitchell leads off the inning base it up the middle and guess what put a little pressure there's the stolen base his seventh hey the Brewers have been stealing some bases you go back to the Cincinnati Red series there was nine stolen bases there and he's looking at that Runner like what are you going to do doesn't matter ree Hoskins Reese gets a piece and he goes out to the left field and that's the third home run of the ball game second at that time we didn't know the cherio Grand Slam was coming later uh but that's what that's what this stuff does you play off the momentum and at the same time put pressure on the pitcher uh the pitcher is like hey we got a chance first and third there's two outs he's watching the game unfold and then boom trick play does not work and you're back on the mound you got a man on base he's stealing the threat leads to mistakes that's exactly what happened in that scenario yeah it all happens in three consecutive batters you see the difference that is for the Brewers offensively and then Freddy Peralta getting the start five and a third Tim it was really the curveball that stood out to you from his outing today yeah I mean we've talked about fastball Freddy there was the slider that crept up there for a while and then now you're looking at what he did today the curveball the curveball played you could actually throw the change up in there as well had eight outs between the curveball and the change up but he had three strikeouts all in the curveball and when it was down it was nasty hey a ground ball to first base I'll take that all day now again this all comes uh for the fact that he did his work with the fast ball but the curveball was really good he could make it go straight down he kind of had it going at a little bit different angle uh and I think it works now that it looks like a legit play but that was more of a soft line Hoskins uh but again the curveball down going to play why because everybody is in tune with the fast ball in the slider he's done work with the fast ball and slider all year teams are going to look for that approach I think that's why he had such success with the curveball and the change up getting outs on it uh but again this is a really good outing for Peralta setting the tone 11th time he's gone 100 plus pitches uh how about he retired the leadoff guy five out of six times four of the six hits run fast ball but they were meaty fast balls so that's very easy work he can easily work on that but if you look back at his last 22 in the third Innings that's over his last four starts just giving up that four earned runs that's a 1.6 erra he is doing his job at the right time creeping into September is looking really good for Freddy yeah really good stuff from Peralta and great stuff from this Bullpen that we've seen lately as well their scoreless streak is up to 22 in the third Innings yeah just going right after uh hitters no matter what and and the strikeouts are piling up uh only seven hits in that time frame Hudson set the tone too coming into ball no one out got guys on base gets up a sack fly so that's credited to Peralta and then kind of took the ball and ran with it and then Joe Ross two innings in relief struck out three uh looking very sharp he's in that sweet spot that right Focus you know me he's got just enough smile and just enough intensity just enough Focus he's just in a great spot you know um he's seems like he's born to do this you know three walks a young kid like that then I'll say you guys go look up the guys that played at 19 and 20 in the big leagues I bet there's under 20 games and all those guys careers that they walk three times in a game and hit a grand slam you know I guarantee it you know like the Poise that it takes to take walks he has watched other guys take walks Willie especially Willie's had his highest walk year ever but he's watched other guys when Yelich was here playing good he's watched them like wow yie takes his walks and I think that you know obviously that propelled us today in a huge way so um but the kid is yeah yeah he's it's you know it's the the right deciel or the right frequency or whatever it is he's he's in it we had a lot of Great Performances today you know don't don't shy away from what Freddy did um and I thought I thought William caught a good game like that that's a good that's a team that just put up 15 runs on the Yankees and the day before they put up nine or something like that I mean like we've said this for years those are some some really good players over there and and for Freddy to go five plus uh team that knows him how many times has Freddy pitched against him this year you guys know this is the fourth fourth fourth time like it's pretty impressive so Hudson got got him out Joe Ross was sharp um those guys are underrated what they did Hoskins another big key Homer like all his homers are he's got 20 plus homers and all but one has been a key Homer um Adamas what do you say you know that was we've seen this script you know we've seen it is it almost shocking when he comes to the plate uh and doesn't hit a home run with two guys on at this point I mean he had that second at bat and grounded out but it's just kind of uncanny isn't it what he's doing with guys on base right now yeah I mean it's it's an imp I mean he tied a Major League record to alltime Major League leer and the guy he tied it with is is is a Hall of Famer pretty good you know it's pretty good you just think about it hitters don't get the chance to do that you know you think why Barry didn't do it well Barry didn't do it cuz with tum Manan nobody ever pitched right but um yeah it's pretty pretty amazing can you remember like a hitter doing something I mean obviously we're talking about Britney right talking about humor but in your time but the Brewers remember doing something that clutch yeah like I mean I saw yelli go MVP here two years 18 and 19 and I saw some amazing stuff I really have I've seen some amazing stuff and you're like wow but you kind of have to be in it to know how incredible it really is when when you're with these guys every single day and know the the type of competition and their awareness of everything and and their ability to try to not make that happen is you know and pitching is now Advanced so much far you know ahead of hitting that it's it's an amazing ACH achievement yeah amazing for a short stop to do it too I mean that's yeah an amazing year I imagine he's going to have some nice options what else you guys got what other superlatives those eight locks that you talked about how much is that just a key to just getting everything going offense the two Runners on well you said the word you said the word what is that key offense yeah you know what I mean people look at offense as hitting we look at offense as a lot of things ball strike is number one and um you know that's it's key e e e e e e e e e e e for
