orang for EA Sports college football I'm Reese Davis David po and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it going the hokes will put total Lea and will get started here he comes from inside his own five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 so the Syracuse Orange will go on offense first and here comes this quarterback when he takes the field he brings a certain Swagger and Charisma out there that the entire not only the entire team the entire Stadium seems to feed off of you can feel it it's different it's special uh guys like this don't come around very often but he makes the whole team better but the belief is strong because he continues to make plays and be there for his team every time they need him with a first down they'll snap it from the 32 the G pushes ahead for a couple they'll mark it at the 33 Syracuse right back at it they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw good job running tough and behind his pads as he gets up to the 38 yd [Applause] line they'll try to get it through the air fires to the tight end coming through with that third down conversion and they'll mark it at the 43 Syracuse has a really nice drive going finds the tight end no chance to run but still a good gain they'll line up for a second down play I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job form tackle we'll see if they go back to the air after the incompletion it's third and five how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion Syracuse will be forced to punt first time we've seen their punt team this afternoon a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty so the offense keep this drive alive thanks to the roughing the punter penalty quickly to the tight end as a tight end if you're going to be good in the passing game you've got to be able to feel the windows when defenses Play Zone coverage and he did a really good job of that right there he didn't rush he didn't hurry he took his time found the soft spot and gave his quarterback an easy place to throw the football fires into traffic it's it's picked off and I know this defense statistically hasn't been one of the best against the pass this year but they have had some guys banged up they believe they've got difference makers on the back end that just need to make more plays that DB right there is one of those guys and he does it here on the opening drive getting a huge interception offense getting set for first down they'll ride the running back and leave it with him and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back defense closed down quickly after a gain of three they'll mark it at the 32 and now on third down after that last run looking to throw it's drones just let him a little too far across the sidelines makes the catch but it's incomplete offenses know and work on it all week third Downs third downs we got to be really really good this offense not good on this third down it could come back to bite him first one of the day is booted away they ran him out there four times in the victory last week they'll get down and put a stop to the return at about the 28 yd line the orange have the ball back and ready to go to work now they'll run the draw a run up the middle is stuffed for No Gain got stuffed on first down it's second and [Applause] 10 the give to the back he open the lane and he hit at a gain of five out to the 33 how bold will they be on third down after that last run gives it to the back on the draw and the defense knew exactly where that first down line was and they stopped him short Syracuse will send out the punt team get the first one of the day off and hoping he's not as busy as he was in that loss last week when he kicked it four times tries to find a little more Running Room on that return but he'll be stopped at the 36 and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field last time David it was one two three kick the last drive that three and out sometimes that puts your defense in a bad spot and you got to get a drive together here so you don't wear the defense out I just think David too predictable that last Drive they got to do something here to get this defense on their heels you'll take four yards on first down every time second and [Applause] six gets it out fast really nice job there by both guys the throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down he'll try to pop the draw and more yards after contact pulled down at the 29 after getting five halfway there on first down it's second and five from the shotgun the hand off to the back he's finally brought down but that freshman found some Running Room the hokes come to the line with a new set of downs from the gun the running back has it they get him on the ground a 6yd run in the Red Zone down to the 11 got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four now the quarterback changing the original play call they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one boy they'd love to pick up this conversion and go to work with a first and goal to the air it's drones he's got it on the Move defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal with the six they'll try to get it in with the run and he Sprints to the end zone touchdown H and I like the running back's Vision he sees the hole explodes through it he knows where the goal line is Gets In The End Zone gets six P unit on the field and the extra point makes it seven nothing let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connors Kevin what do you got really nice job to get it past the sticks pick up the first down at the 30 and on that third and short I don't think he was unhappy to see that zone nope was a great job by the offense hey see where the holes in the zone are sit down you only need a little bit of yards on this third down get the conversion move the sticks Syracuse right back at it he'll run it again he's got enough to give Syracuse the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs to give to the lone running back not much working there it'll be second and nine no huddle offense to the line looking for room it's Willis they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they've got a good chunk of ground to cover on Third and long from the 41 from the gun wants to pass fires to the big fella and boy is he close to that first down maybe just just a couple of inches short the orange will have to punt this will be the second time they've had to kick it away that is just gorgeous knocks it out of bounds inside the 5 yd line and we are about to get another look at this hoki offense strong run there to pick up four and get it out to the seven after the productive first down play it's second and six quarterback will Audible gets it out quickly knocked down immediately but a nice pickup on that one third and short they've got them backed up inside the 20 and the D can get the ball back here to the ground to try to pick up the first brought down to the ground but he has enough for the first down they're backed up just a little first and 10 from their own 19 it'll be a draw he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 pulls and fires it complete to the right and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 makes the grab it's Jennings and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker and the hokes line up to punt it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it it away signals for the fair Catch and hauls it in just shy of the 30 the Syracuse offense heads back onto the field they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punt it I think they got to be more physical David I think up front they got to do a better job getting blocks and establishing this running game and how easy does football become if you're the more physical team if you can threaten the run and then then run play action it opens up the whole offense at your disposal got it in the middle it's gadon and he's brought down after a huge completion Syracuse right back at it I know it's early in the game but defensively after that play you know you have to tackle the catch when this guy gets the ball in his hands he is so dangerous after the fact so it's okay for him to make catches just got to get him to the ground quickly just can't pull the trigger and the quarterback is sacked at the 41 playaction pass success has a lot to do with selling that fake you could tell defense was not buying it got in the back field got the big play that's the last thing you want as an offense a negative play a sack on first [Applause] down we've reached the end of the quarter and Virginia Tech is on top and we've come to the end of the the first as we take a moment to check out the stats so [Applause] far they've swapped ends of the field and we're ready to go in the second now the offense has to overcome the negative play after the defense comes up with a sack looking for a physical attack from the gun oh the ball squirts out oh and he's able to get back on top of it and avert the turnover so the offici take a closer look and the replay Booth will overturn the call on third down he drops the throw and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down and on fourth down here comes the field goal unit he'll need to strike this one cleanly from 48 yds out knocked it right through showing that big range from 48 yds out [Music] [Music] after putting up a three spot the kickoff unit set to go he'll take the return try to get better field position really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field they missed an opportunity to extend this lead the last time they had it Jessy yeah they got to be able to regain that momentum right go back to what was working earlier on in this one David to me that starts with being the more physical team no I definitely agree being the more physical team but understanding the situation of the game you're still winning you got the football back now put a nice drive together and execute nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the carry looking for a man it's drones tight end finds a soft spot and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains the hokes will snap it on First and 10 the give to the tail back finds enough room to get three out to the 34 got three on first down it's second and seven he's looking to throw and it'll be incomplete this defense is physical and pass deep they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and long he has to throw for it and the quarterback was trying to extend the play and the defense brought it to a close defensive linemen live to get after the quarterback to get sacks to get by those big hog mol up front on the offensive line and say you taste dirt and the hokes will line up to pun it [Applause] away he's got great speed coverage team able to put a stop to that return at the 42 yd line the orange have the ball back and ready to go to work they try to pop a run on the draw and he'll pick up the first down after a tough run there here's this offense with a fresh set of downs off the play fake on first down to throw looking for the end zone and swatted down by the defense to stop the scoring opportunity the incomplete pass leaves him with second down they go to the to draw just buried it really nice patient job to find some Running Room by this junior Syracuse right back at it they'll ride the hot hand how many guys are left grabbing for air as he gets it to the 26 yd line 8- yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short trying play action lets it fly deep downfield and it'll be intercepted In The End Zone this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision making and we about to get another look at this hokei offense they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over let it go get back to what you were doing that built this lead pmer yeah and defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last drive so we got to put them on their heels here maybe mix up a few Personnel groupings and try to show them some pictures they haven't seen yet they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here using the quick game really nice job to get it past the sticks pick up the first down at the 30 from the shotgun they'll run it finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd line good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up the hokes have their offense in high gear from the gun they'll try to impose their will really important for a ranked team going into a hostile environment like this one not to give the underdog reason to believe yes reason to believe and don't give the fans reason to get jacked up and excited come out early be in a business mode mindset you got to start fast you got to have a sense of urgency you cannot come sleep walk talking into an environment like this because if you do and you make some mistakes this crowd will pounce on you and sees momentum and a nice run there before the defense finally makes the stop using his legs it's toon drives ahead for three to the second down he'll let it fly usually see better timing between this senior quarterback and his receivers that one well behind him they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal quarterback feeling the pressure and down he goes at the 22 timeout is called and it's the defense wanting to make sure that everyone's on the same page for this big down right down the Man and we're about to get another look at this hookie offense guys it's been an entertaining first half and not a lot of time left to put some more points on the board no but you got this possession right here to maybe go into the half tied up so good first half but a great way Jesse to end this first half yeah you'd love to take that momentum into the second half and listen this offense practices 2 minute every single week for this exact situation they'd love to be able to go generate a few more points before taking it into the locker room scanning the field it's drones just a short pass to the tight end and that was some kind of collision between a couple of big bodies there and he stopped from getting the first down he wants to throw it again receiver looks it in it's complete they'll get him on the ground at the 4 six and it'll be a first down he's looking to throw it that's caught it's lay and that's the looking man coverage you can throw the hitch route against right when the receivers got a little bit of access who he's got some room to work with against press you're risking a pick six so good decision there by the Q knowing that was a good look to throw into and this junior quarterback shows you why the scouts love that big arm of his wants to throw on first down a shot toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown hys they've got the lead in trying to put this one in a hammerlock here in week 10 and I think in the pre- snap I think both of these guys were on the same page they had a look defensively that let them know we can pitch this thing way down the field I'm going to go run under it and make a big play for it yeah and when I'm the receiver I'm like I'm open right I'm I'm going straight down the field Feld throw me the football I got the speed I can beat this guy you can tell they've done that so much in practice they knew it was second nature and they executed it perfectly and the kick is good but there is a penalty flag because he paid for making that kick I think they're going to get him for rushing the [Applause] kicker so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty so they got the touchdown and as they kick off really important for the defense to shut them down here on first down here comes this offense he wants to throw grabbed in the middle it's Peña a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half he's going to pass finds his man and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pickup here's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half the throw to the outside is complete the offense will stop the clock and use one of its timeouts going up top on first down shoots it to the left got his man and he's brought of this offense might honestly take more time to talk about what didn't work than what did the running game the passing game Gadget plays have worked now it's just a matter of finishing the job and with that let's send it back to the guys inside the dome in lovely Central New York and the h I will kick it away to start the second half and he takes this from inside the five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field if it's working why change it and that running game was working in the first half I imagine we'll see a lot more of it here in the third quarter and you just know the offensive line was telling their coordinator put this on us let us continue to go out there push these guys around we can put this game on our back and end this thing by running the ball and this is a manhood question for this defense like as a defensive lineman and you're pounding the rock pounding the rock like I got to physically rise to this challenge this defense has to play more inspired and More Physical in the second half sweet beat on the move and they're able to get a third down stop here see if they go for it on Fourth the Hoke send out the punt unit he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight on the return it's Peña he'll put that return to a stop at the 33 but the offense set up in pretty good field position decent field position to start this drive from their own 33 pre snap Motion in the back field they'll throw it on first down makes the catch it's Ross Simmons they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground covered pick up the first off the play fake they get to him as he throws he makes a catch he found plenty of room and he gets it to the 39 yd line it's hard to have a grown man bearing down on you about to hit you in the face and you still be able to focus and keep your eyes down the field and throw a great pass to your wide receiver great job by the QB he is going nowhere stop at the line of screen image Syracuse right back at it it doesn't matter what Run play you have called if you're running it inside or outside if the defense gets penetration everything is done and you saw it on that play right there great job by the def and this offense just has to find a way to convert this third down or else they are really in trouble back to throw it's mcord and it's picked off for the third time today and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception and the senior just took that one out of the air and sends it the other way and defensive backs you think don't have good hands the big fella shows it how about that defensive back going up and getting the interception nice job breaking on the football you say that's why you play defense cuz you don't have hands I beg it Def and we're about to get another look at this hoki offense boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here P yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive quickly complete tackle is made but not until he gets the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs it's a draw and they try the middle of this Stout defense defense and they rise to the challenge they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 give to the running back and he found plenty of Running Room on that one before the defense was finally able to get him down from the gun give on the inside he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down and the hokes come to the line with a fresh set of downs quarterback changing the plays at the line PS and throws off the RPO they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down from the gun they'll try to impose their running game he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal firing to the right complete they're able to get him stopped just shy of the first down marker fourth down and one and they'll go for it try to get it on the ground will not get there a fourth down stop first down for this offense they'll leave it with him gets it across the 10 a pick up of five and out of trouble to the 12 Syracuse right back at it the back goes in motion looking downfield it's mcor got his man quickly they make the stop but the sweet rolling catches plenty to give him a first down used the play fake now to throw a strike downfield and the explosiveness the big Gainer gets it to the 49 yd line the offense set for a first down Play It's amazing in college football the tight end position and how much has changed back in the day you're a blocking guy maybe you catch a flat route today these guys have athleticism and you just saw it from that dude after the catch on that last one looking to move it through the air couldn't hang on to that one this defense has already picked off three passes almost had the fourth it'll be second down from the gun he leaves it with the back the marker rest at the 39 and that's what they need here on third down they'll go to the air using the back as a receiver on the screen and the defense able to drag him down but not before they'll recycle that down marker well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting through his progression after picking up a couple of second and eight using his legs it's Allen productive four yd gain there on the ground as he gets it down to the 31 about to snap it for the eighth time on this drive and it's a third down and four from the gun wants to pass makes the grab outside it's gadon he will step out of bounds but not before the B big pick up and a first down for this offense they go to the ground and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good gain before the stop is made trying to run it's Allen and he's brought to the ground but not before he gets enough for the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs give to the back they'll pick up four second and Six coming going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone touch pass on the Jet Sweep the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can pick up a first down without scoring third down they'll throw it to the back on the screen they play that screen nicely he tried to find his way to the marker but it'll be fourth down and this kicker is turning into Old Reliable he's already knocked through a couple today it's good easy call for the refs [Music] [Applause] they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last Drive he'll start the return inside his spot and The Return Man is stopped and that'll leave it up to the offense on the next Drive Line gets set first down they'll crank up this drive with the pass snares it outside it's Toton and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup picked up some yardage with that completion now second down Pockets starts to collapse they're setting up the screen no sir not this time the defense was there and ready for that one quarterback on the keeper they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster another punt on the way got to make sure those hammies and glutes all activated don't want any muscle PS from overuse the solid return there offsets some of the punt yardage and really sets up this offense nicely takes the hand off it's Allen and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that Syracuse right back at at it running back goes in motion wants to fire on second down that one never had a chance incomplete third down and this offense is already in a world of trouble they could really use the conversion not to mention multiple scores fires left he's got an open man and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up [Applause] they'll try the Run he rolls all the way down to the 5 yd line before they finally get him stopped first and goal and a great opportunity to slice into this lead they'll try to get it in with the Run touchdown CES you thought they were done they're not they're back baby oh the offense shows some life here and cuts into the lead with that score and man they needed it they had to have something to go right listen still down but this is a great start to get back in this ball game they'll try to attack one more on their score and with the extra point every every little bit counts as they get closer we check in with Kevin Connors what's going on Kevin Gentlemen let's take a look at what's happening in this exciting college football game South Alabama is darn near perfect offensively today this is almost exactly the way they drew things up this week in practice they're up by 24 Over Georgia Southern we'll Circle back if anything big happens you should know about it thanks for the update on that one let us know when it goes final just searching and working for the Running Room as he gets it out to the 26 from the gun the G looking for room and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense facing a third down and short from the 26 looking to throw for it finds his tight end and he'll move his way forward to the first down they'll mark it at the 35 as they get set to snap at time winding down here in the quarter they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw just sort of a Relentless run getting everything that was available to him and they'll Mark him down at the 40 we've reached the end of the quarter and Virginia Tech is on top and as we switch ends of the field let's take a quick look at the national [Applause] rankings one quarter to go and might we have the makings of a classic fourth quarter finish back to pass it's drones he makes the connection gets it to the 46 yd line first down for this offense the hokes are on the move to give from the gun at the 40 there he goes and he's brought down after a nice game finally some signs of life from this offense which has done nothing in the second half it's first and 10 not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven this offense could not have executed in this situation any better just draining some time off the clock caught over the middle it's Thomas and this Junior loves to show off that Big R trying to find his man on first down makes the catch and another big game for this offense they are putting explosive pass after explosive pass up in this one with the run on first and goal and he takes it in for the score touchdown Virginia Tech this team just knows how how to finish they keep getting better and better and better and they are close to going 9 and0 another rushing touchdown that's now two on the game this offense thought they could come into this one running the ball being the more physical team and they look like it right now lining up to tack one more onto that lead and with the extra point the lead is a dozen here in the fourth they go 83 yards on the drive and they coach at this point you're telling your offense doesn't matter what's happened up this point of the game obviously things haven't gone our way but we have a chance to execute in a two-minute situation and get Maks to grab at the 30 touchdown orange and here they come almost all the way back well we wondered exactly where the momentum was and it looks as if Uncle Mo might have switched Sidelines and switched families and momentum is such a big thing it's such a real part of college football isn't it you can just feel that right now it just felt a few minutes ago like this game was over and all of a sudden this team they're believing in themselves they've got some win they've got some hope their defense now needs to get the football back to keep that momentum going and the Pat will draw them one Point closer aggressive play calling on that drive just two plays they get the long touchdown pass to pay it off on the move from inside is five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field and now that cushion is a little bit smaller Jesse and any mistake would get magnified yeah a little bit of pressure now on this offense David I think they got to go back to their Playmakers and get these guys going in the game no doubt find those plays those plays you know you can run them in your sleep you make sure you execute build this lead a little bit bigger put this thing away in the fourth quarter he stopped after getting a yard out to the 30 ball sitting right at the 30 it'll be third and short that one did not go well tackled in the back field for a loss of six and the h rookies will bring the punt team onto the field they're up to a half dozen kicks today makes a move coverage team was down there to Corral him they made the Stop and they'll mark it at the 39 man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out looking for a productive play on first down here's the handoff they pick up half of it it'll be second and five moving quickly trying to Rattle the D they'll keep it on the ground finally pulled down but not before moving the change for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs from the shotgun the inside k and a pick up of eight opens a world of opportunities on second and two Syracuse right back at it give to the running back and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of [Applause] downs he'll keep it himself oh the ball popped out that's a way to mess up a drive defense swarming on that loose ball it'll be a turnover I'll tell you honestly I don't know what that player could have done to hold on to that football that Defender absolutely popped him he knocked him into next week there was no chance he was holding on to that ball and we're about to get another look at this hokey offense here's another opportunity he to stretch out this lead after punting last time I think it goes back to your Playmakers reys I think it's finding the guys that have been working for you earlier on in this game and getting them the football yeah and there's obviously no need to panic I mean think about it you got the lead you got the football you got to be smart with the football make your plays put a good drive together [Applause] here quick strike complete got room at the 35 they are finding soft spots in this defense he's got it down to the 25 and if it ain't broke don't fix it right this is what got this team in this position to win this game aggressive offense taking shots here we are in the fourth quarter they've got the lead Why Stop Now they've got it first and 10 from the 25 right here he'll pull it on the read and a nyd gain on first down leaves him with second and short the hokes are threatening in the Red Zone movement here from the tight end to the ground with the back and get him on the ground but it's a first down and the hokes will have it first and 10 might as well give it to him again and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land operating in the Red Zone here on second down the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D they'll give it to the back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple a third and long coming up here he'll do it himself and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop so here we are on fourth down and this field goal kicker is going to face all the pressure in the world absolutely perfect that's a huge kick right there because now the opponent has to score a touchdown here in the fourth quarter that put so much pressure on the opponent now nice job by the Special Teams going out and executing in a big [Applause] [Applause] moment so they're lining up to kick it off after that last Drive put a three spot on the board and now the defense will try to shut him down he'll bring it back from inside his spot didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Syracuse offense heads back onto the field ball security going to be Paramount this time Jesse Yeah and and sense of urgency too they're trailing in this game right now the turnover wasn't great so David they really got to be able to put something positive together on this drive put something positive together be aggressive but don't be Reckless can't have any more of those turnovers caught in the back field it's Ross Simmons and not much doing there as that defense run s him out of bounds Syracuse right back at [Applause] it he'll set up to throw got it set up on the outside they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front wall to set up the screen and create some lanes for their running back this is the moment for this offense to put a drive together it doesn't matter what's happened up to the point of this game but you're trailing right now you got to put some points up on the board this is where where all 11 guys need to be playing together as one 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four the give to the back they'll stop him at the 46 after a five yard pickup Syracuse has a really nice drive going hand off to the lone back and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine Tempo and overdrive out of the gun they'll run it inside haul down at the 38 yd line and a big pick up of 15 yds there it's first and 10 from the 38 yd line well they get another big run for a first down and if you're on offense you love the way your offensive line is blocking early in this game they are getting tremendous movement and they're making life pretty easy for these running backs right now they've been running it but now the pass quarterback feeling that pressure and he's knocked down at the 42 that's a good example there of complimentary defense the DBS and linebackers are playing Zone they're playing their spaces and they force the QB to to have to hold the ball try to work through his progressions and then the pass rush they win up front ninth play of the drive coming up but this one will be tough third and long looking to throw and he needs a bunch got rid of it just in time the orange will have to punt and the quarterback gets hit again we already know this defense has gotten home to him multiple times in this game so here you are you're trailing in the game defense knows you're going to throw it they're pinning their ears back you can't feel very confident right now if you're the play caller and certainly if you're the quarterback that you're going to have time to throw the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty dropping back it's mcco trying to make magic on the scramble a really nice run and gain and he gets down to avoid taking punishment and this is a significant moment for this offense down eight first and goal needing a touchdown and a two to tie we have reached a two-minute warning and time is of the essence if this offense is going to make a play they'll run it on first and goal really nice stop there from this senior leader defense rolls up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming he worked his way ever closer all the way down to the one yd line if they can get it into the end zone here they can really really turn up the to the end zone and it's picked off well we've seen this defense make plays time and time again in this game they may have just sealed it with that takeaway and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field and now Jesse the art here is to find the balance between milking the clock and trying to get another score I think if you're the coaching staff too you like to see your team play its best in the fourth quarter right defense just did their job so offense now David has to go out and handle their business yeah you got the momentum because of the defense that' given you some momentum that' given you a great opportunity to take hold of this game and really put a stamp on it the offense uses a timeout to stop the clock and they'll get a quick breather looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out they'll snap this one from the 32 it's first down they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side and they try the middle of this defense and that is not happening got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 they move the tight end all over power football with the Run man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out the offense will quickly use a timeout offense breaks the Huddle it's third down quarterback on the keeper five makes his way for a couple but stopped short of the marker it's fourth and one the hokes will call on their punt team he'll try to really get into this one was looking for more Running Room but found nothing but more tacklers he's down at the 24 first down here for the offense looking to pass it's mcord and he can't find anyone open and down he goes a sack here late in the fourth on second down wants to throw it and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third down they've got to move quickly here still a chance but they've got to force the ball down the field and it's knocked away downfield the DB getting a hand in there and here we go down a score they'll go for it on fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up the first down and that makes five interceptions in this one the nightmare is alive and that is a back breaker it's fourth down though listen you got to throw the football you got to try to make a play but the defense came up big in a big moment so with the late lead they're ready to just drain the clock in Victory formation and the quarterback takes a knee it's one thing to execute early in the game tight ball game right at the end you need the clutch plays these guys deliver and you can't teach that Gene you have people that that can focus in the moment or they can't great job by the team staying focused understanding it's a close battle win those one play at a time and then look up and then heck I got the win yeah David they just had ice in their veins and you can tell there's tremendous leadership on this football team guys can step up and in the Huddle they can make sure that everybody else is
