welcome everyone to Louisville Kentucky and we may be in the Blue Grass state but blue is the color to avoid if you love the homestanding Louisville Cardinals today we have one of those games that test your focus top 25 team against an unranked opponent can you take care of business as we'll see a squad from the SEC the pator taking on the 20th rank team in the land the Louisville Cardinal for EA Sports college football I Reese Davis David Po and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it going the Gators will kick it away to start us [Applause] off from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Cardinals offense will take the first swing of the game and here comes this quarterback when he takes the field he brings a certain Swagger and Charisma out there that the entire not only the entire team the entire Stadium seems to feed off of you can feel it it's different it's special uh guys like this don't come around very often but he makes the whole team better but the belief is strong because he continues to make plays and be their first team every time they need it pulls and fires incomplete to the right and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play these two conferences largely share the same Geographic footprint the ACC loves it when they can take down a team from the SEC and we see these two conferences play each other often times early in the season late in the season David think about Clemson South Carolina Florida Florida State these players have a lot of familiarity with one another and this already matters so much to these kids because they grew up in the same area a lot of times like re was talked about but how about in the past too when your league undefeated League champion gets left out of the playoff for an SEC team a little more few over the fire he'll settle for some pretty good field position and make the fair catch at around the 35 Florida's offense headed onto the field our first look at them today when a guy gets off the ball as quickly as he does you know he's going to be breathing down your neck and you got to get rid of it Jesse this quarterback's good but he better have a clock going off in his head he knows not going to have a lot of time to get rid of the football that's a big matchup in this game well and that's what I love about this guy cuz he affects the quarterback whether he gets to him or not he knows he's there he's that kind of good coming off the edge let's see how this QB performs Under Pressure the give to the single back just a solid stop by this sophomore one of the big story lines coming into this year was the rising temperature of the coach's seat and the process of cooling things off starts now all offseason this coach has said the right right things I'm not worried about it I'm not focused on it I'm just worried about our team but David let's be real he's got to win games there is an expectation at this program to win and if he doesn't start fast this year that hooty's only going to get hot no and then the chirping starts and everybody's going to be talking about his job the pressure builds and then you then what happens sometimes you lose the locker room so important to get off to a good start try to quiet some of those haters and some of those doubters able to squeeze out a couple on the play gets down at the 35 picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down they go to the ground and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge so guys over the last few years there have been seismic changes to college football realignment May highness but one of the biggest changes the transfer portal yeah and now guys that are unhappy or in a situation where they see something that they'd rather be in now you can leave and there is no penalty so a lot of recruiting Jesse on other people's teams that go on throughout a season yeah it's 365 and it's a lot of pressure on coaches to re-recruit their own players as well to try to keep those rosters intact but the transfer portal completely flips rosters upside down one team that struggles this year if they get one key addition it's a team potentially competing for a national championship next season so they were able to put up a three spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather here he comes from inside his own five all right not ideal right not ideal you're an offense you you want to get a good kick off a turn but you're starting inside your own 10 now come out set the tone get some high percentage completion you might not go with that script you had because you thought you might have a little better field position but you just get some open Runway ahead ripped off a huge chunk play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds man this offense is so dangerous re they've got dudes all over the field that can make plays there's a big gainer in the pass game you get a chunk of yards like that now the defense is really on it heels and there's so much for a quarterback to think about stick it out of the belly do I pull it now when I pull it oh I got to get my feet set make an accurate throw to the right guy so a lot of things going on and I think that you saw that led to a little bit of inaccuracy and this one will be stopped for no gain and you don't want to start this game with two straight punts big third down opportunity coming here he uncor a laser deep down the middle and they wanted it all on third down but now dealing with fourth down the Cardinals will try to pin them back with the punt this will be the second time they've had to kick it away the gator sending the offense back to work you want to talk about having a weapon to bail out a drive David that's why kickers are so important after that long field goal and listen important is a relative turn we need to make longer passes and get better gains so don't have to kick long field goals Palmer again on offense and they've got the weapons to do that David they just got to be able to dial those plays up guys have to be able to make them oneon-one to make life easier on this kick who is so important to this te they'll come to the line at the 42 facing a third and long it's a draw he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple the Gators line up to punt it away getting our first look of the afternoon at the punter really good job by the coverage team to make the Stop and that's where they'll put it in play Louisville has it back in the offense coming out ready to attack David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the put right there this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more of a best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense he'll push his way out to the 308 pick up of three after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven they give it to him again still running up the 40 and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play and this guy is Elite there's a reason why he starts in this offense you just saw the speed and the open field running ability on that last play and this is a guy that is going to be key to the entire season for this offense guys out the back field now it's not just run the ball downhill anymore you got to be first I got to be able to trust you in the pass game and I got to be able to throw you the football and you can do that right there I know you're going to catch it and I can depend on it nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry they line up and it is a Long Way to the sticks from here the throw to the outside is complete and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play when you're a playmaker like this guy is your coaches are going to dial up plays intended for you especially on third down that's what you saw in that last play there was no question where the quarterback was going with that football all week long they decided on the biggest Downs of this game we're going to Target our best player and we're going to make sure that he gets looks it doesn't matter what the coverage is and you saw it right there on that play and the Cardinals will snap it on First and 10 looking for a man it's shot unloads it left got his man they get him down but this offens is set up first and goal from the nine defense is backed up shadow of the goal post trying to defend their own End Zone they'll keep it on the ground for first and goal he p pushes his way down to the four as they get closer and closer defense trying to come up with a stop on second and goal tries again to get it in and he takes it in for the score touchdown Cardinal the best running backs are the guys that can just sniff out the end zone that running back showed you all of his freakish ability on that play [Music] getting set for the point after the exra point and the extra point makes it s to three and let's check in with Kevin Conor in the studio Kevin boys if it's happening in college football we've got eyes on it check this out Texas is currently ahead early in this one in DKR but they just haven't been able to separate themselves offensively they're up by seven over Colorado State we'll Circle back if anything big happens you need to know about and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere up near the 40 yd line they'll mark it at the 39 a pick up of 15 big play to start this drive now they'll snap it from the 39 off the play fake on first down to throw using the quick game he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage and now on second down for this [Applause] offense scanning the field it's Ms he's going to throw deep right side and that's going to be incomplete going for broke on second down but third Down's coming up if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum fires into traffic picked off not a lot on the return but they can live with that as theyve got it at the 49 that's why his quarterbacks you cannot Telegraph the pass you cannot stare down your receivers because these Defenders they're watching it and that Defender knew exactly where the QB was going with that football and that's why he picked it off [Music] the Louisville offense is headed back out on the field that last drive an absolute aerial assault for the touchdown Jesse it was a nice job in play calling too David just giving the quarterback some easy looks and reads so he could go out and ENT and he knew exactly where to go with the football everything looked really really easy he was hot the ball was coming out of his hands the defense better do something different he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three a third and long coming up here from the gun wants to pass intercepted he was trying to get that return going instead he'll hand it to his offense at the 38 what a nice catch by the defensive back listen a lot of times you see DBS get in position to make plays but there's a reason they play DB and not wide receiver great job finishing the interception catching the ball making a big play [Applause] Florida has the ball back and here comes the offense after that last pick David they really need to take care of the ball this time no doubt and Palmer I want to know what Spurrier said to you on the sideline after a pick do that again and you'll be right here beside me for the rest of the game you got to go out you got to call your plays and I hope this coaching staff isn't going to be afraid to throw at this drive coming out on first down with the play fake he's going to let one fly down the middle and the DB making a huge play knocking it away down field line getting set on second down they'll give it to Johnson he picks up four that'll lead them with third and six trying to pick up a first down third and long and he'll try to throw for it got him downfield they are finding soft spots in this defense he's got it down to the 25 and Ne Gators are on the Move that's first the comes out throwing on first down got it in the middle it's Johnson they'll finally put the brakes on him at the three a big throw catch and run on that one they've hit him with backto back chunk plays now it's first and goal he got it and good coverage by the defense just a short gain defense rolling out the big bodies to try to stuff the Run BR up trying to Surge it in and he takes it to the house touchdown Forida it gets closer and closer to the right here you know what's coming as a defense the off has to be physical and they were in the back knew exactly what he had to get to to get [Music] six P unit on the field for the extra [Applause] point and the extra point gives him a three-point lead at 10 to7 so that's a 60yd touchdown drive and they close the deal pushing their way inches into the end [Applause] zone about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown KI on the run from inside his own five good job by the coverage unit to stop the Return Man will take over Louisville has it back and the offense coming out ready to attack boy they hope this next Drive is more productive after throwing a pick last time Jesse Yeah and the coach has did a good job on the sideline there just talking to the Young quarterback and making sure he's able to turn the page calm him down to go out and refocus this drive yeah and some people do that better than others but you got to show some trust in him maybe get the ground game go and help around him a little bit with this system let's see what they've got on second down using his legs it's Turner they shut it down quickly but he gets two out to the 18 all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point fires left wide open downfield and they were looking for a chunk play and they got it the explosive picks up more than 30 that's a beautiful pass and catch I love the job the quarterback does is manipulating the defense with his eyes he Froze that safety and that allowed his receiver more room to work his route to the air it's shot coming after it and they got him he'll get him down for the sack he was lurking waiting for his opportunity and like a gator in the swamp he went into the roll and got that quarterback they did I tell you what when you want to be dominant in this league if Florida wants to get back to being a dominant team it's got to be guys like this in the trenches dominating football games third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off got his Man Down field third down conversions are huge and they've got one and they're at the 35 the Cardinals will line it up on First and 10 he wants to throw got him in it's spy and he's able to shed one tackle and gets a pretty good pick up nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success grabbed in the middle it's lacy he'll be brought down at the three yd line an explosive play in the passing game has him on the doorstep and the Cardinals are threatening on First and goal they'll try to get it in with the Run didn't get much done on that run he'll fight his way out and maybe maybe pick up a yard and the D deny them on second and goal he's looking to throw makes a catch and he will score touch down Cardinal can these guys just score from anywhere out there after that drive looks that way and that's what separates really good offenses from great offenses when you're backed up in a bad position and you can still fight your way out they'll get you a touchdown that's a great drive by the [Music] offense ready to try the point after oh that's like blowing the layup for the 3in putt missed the extra point of almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown set to kick it off let's see what he can get done from inside his own 15 he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 the gator sending the offense back to work after standing on the sideline and watching that long touchdown Drive they really need to put something together to give their defense a rest and that's a real thing man like you played a lot of plays you get worn out you need a chance to go decompress in the sideline get some option Palmer now it's on this offense yeah this is the definition of complimentary football cuz it's a two-prong problem you've got to score points and answer but you've also got to take your time and give your defense an opportunity to get their win and it goes through his hands oh he had an explosive play right there for the taking but couldn't reel it in to the air it's Ms pocket starts to collapse and the pressure gets him back at the 8 yd line well this is a quarterback who's not known for his running ability obviously we've seen him make some great throws but ability that's probably not on your bingo card you saw it right there he gets brought down for the [Music] sack the gator will punt it away on fourth down three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out so from his own End Zone the punt is away oh how did you make that move and they'll haul down the returner to start us on the next Drive the Louisville offense is headed back out on the field they'll come out on this drive and let it rip fires into traffic it's picked off and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision [Applause] making so the first play of the drive starting here from the 45 hand off to the single back he breaks a tackle and offenses want to continue to feature the they want balance even if it's not super successful you can take it little bit at a time just to keep that defense honest looking to throw on second down grabbed over the middle it's Hansen and he won't quite get there but boy after that pick up just a few inches to go for the first an array of possibilities here the playaction fak fires to the middle excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away the Gators decide to pun it away and he'd hope to pin him deep instead it will be a Touchback Louisville has it back in the offense coming out ready to attack well the good news about this drive Jesse it can't go worse than last time through a pick on the first play no it certainly can't I think one good way David to help your quarterback Turn the Page is just find him an easy completion here and let him get back into a r yeah or find him an easy hand off just hand the football off maybe get the ground game going maybe jump start this offense a little bit Midfield he's got he's already got 46 yds rushing already you want to talk about establishing the running game they're doing that in the season opener running behind that left side able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven tried to pound it on first down now back to the line dropping back it's shuck he's got his man he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down the Cardinals come to the line with a new set of downs going up top on first down hind is tight end nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down this offense needs to avoid getting in its own head getting domed up with it play calling in the red zone that play just never had a chance they knock him down for a loss of five they're about to run a dirty half dozen plays on this drive out of the gun the inside G working his way and keeping those legs moving picks up five down to the 14 boy they'd love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal trying to get to him and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the and they're going to head out the line up for a field goal splits the ight it's good hold on just a second a flag down let's see what's up with that you must protect the kicker when he's in a defenseless position like that that penalty is going to give the offense a first down the offense threatening close to the end zone now with a new set of downs INE defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming they'll put the tight end in motion he'll run it to the middle looking for the End Zone he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line and this defense is on its heels man the last thing you want after controlling the ball moving it down the field is to have to settle for a field goal attempt it's third and goal it's complete knock down for the T man and that's just making it way too easy on the defense they're laughing at that short they're like really okay we'll just make an easy tackle and Jog our put return team out on the field we're going to make it that easy for us well that's one the kicker would like to have back that's a kick he should be making in his sleep Florida has the ball back and here comes the offense boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this dve off the play fake on first down wants to throw and he drops it just took his eye off of it at the last minute after the misfire it's second down looking to pass it's MS it's complete to the right and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving Ms lining up trying to convert this third and short from the 40 quarterback on the keeper coming through that third down conversion and they'll mark it at the 43 and the gator look to keep this drive huming that's a first for the off off the play fake going for the big play and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge game if he could have held on now they'll run the draw he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple time winding down in the quarter as they come to the line on Third and long try to convert through the air a little screen to the running back and after the tackle we are headed to the end of the first quarter number 2 we're through one and what a back and forth battle between these two quarterbacks as we look at the [Music] stats they've swapped into of the field and we're ready to go in the second the gator send out the pun unit he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight how about this it's out of bounds inside the 10 and they're going to mark it right around the 5 yd line what a great job there they're going to throw it to start the drive makes the grab it's Brooks he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down completion a little short of the sticks it's second down [Applause] they think they can impose their will here with the run to the right couldn't fight his way out of his grab man oh man the ball carrier was just shut down and I tell you what they need some push up front too right they got to move those defensive linen out of the way at least create a hole so your running back has a chance not there he didn't have any and the Cardinals will call on their punt team a lowline drive and not his best work that was not exact helpful to this defense as they'll have their backs against the wall as the ball will be put in play close to the 40 leaves it with the back shows him the stiff arm they're trying to send a message with this running game he stopped after a pick up of four to the 33 solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six keep it on the ground he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one back to throw it's Ms they're trying to get to it quarterback feeling that pressure and he's knocked down at the 42 and they didn't have to Blitz they brought on the dime package more speed on the field so we can cover in the back end and then let the dline do what great dline do [Music] and they'll Pat the kicker on the tail and tell him to go give it a shot this kicker bragged that he can kick an 80 yd field goal he'll settle for a 59 Yer here field goal is good with that field goal guys we're all tied up and there we go we check in with Kevin Connors what's going on Kevin boys if it's happening in college football we've got eyes on it check this out Troy is Curr trailing in this one but it feels like the tide may be turning this program has picked itself up before and it's capable of it again today it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Nevada will Circle back if anything changes in this exciting college football match up oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out to the 25 the Louisville offense is headed back out on the field the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no ribon in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum in'll incomplete a little creativity on first down but it doesn't work it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again a run up the middle is stuck for no game great job at contained by this defense and in order to do that the end man on the line of scrimmage defensively has got to be able to set the point and force the football back into traffic and that's exactly what happened finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down the Cardinals are moving quickly down the field keeping on the ground with the single back and the defense stops him just short of the first down maybe needed a few more chain links to move the stickness here comes the offense on second down looking to throw it's shut just a short pass to the tight end and the Cardinals get it past the sticks from the 22 on First and 10 used the play fake now to throw got it and he's into the End Zone tdch down lisal defense has to be better on the back end they knew this offense was going to come out and they were going to challenge them they were going to try to push the ball vertically down the field they've now given up two touchdown passes in this game they've got to shore up their play at the back [Music] [Applause] half they'll try to attack one more on their score point and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven they put together a 74 yd touchdown drive and the scoring play comes on a touchdown pass from 22 yds out catches it inside his 20 chance to really gain some ground and The Return Man is stopped and that'll leave it up to the offense on the next Drive looking for a productive play on first down he'll keep it himself he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 grabbed in the back field it's Wilson at the 40 there he goes nothing but green ahead he's at the 10 touchdown gator a great catch and run for six one of the reasons this offense is so exciting to watch they've got guys that are dangerous after the catch if this quarterback gets through his progression David he hits you in stride these guys will take it to the house man it's your job to do the rest right you hit me in stride where I don't have to stop running I don't have to break down it makes it so easy the connection between quarterback wide receiver you can tell this is a good one and that's why they got six on that play he'll try to tack on one more splits the upright what a display of explosive capabilities on that drive 75 yds two plays and a touchdown and we're all square as he set to kick it away on the move from inside is five and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next Drive Line gets set first down fast motion from the offense off the play fake on first down and that defense gets to him and down he goes at the nine they're trying to dig out of the hole on second and long from the nine from the shotgun they'll run it finds a little bit of room picks up four out to the 13 you make up the game land and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 back to throw it's shut fires to the wide out can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noosed pass defense and now it's Fourth Down the Cardinals will send out the punt unit he'll signal for a fair catch after that weak punt the gator sending the offense back to work this could be a real turning point in the game they scored a touchdown they got a stop and now a chance to break the tie yeah this offense has got it cooking man and how about the defense great job getting that stop getting the football right back to the hot hand now this offense Palmer has a chance to take the lead you can see the offense too they understand the situation right now they were jonesing on the sidelines to get another opportunity to run back on the field they are ready to drive this ball go score they are in danger of squandering this great field position unless they can convert this third third and five and it's picked off and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception and the senior just snatched the ball out of the air and gave it back to his offense we've just seen in this game the ball has just gotten away from him a little bit a couple times just hasn't been able to put it where he wants to and as a result that's now his second pick thrown in this [Music] game Louisville has it back in the offense coming out ready to attack last time David it was one two three kick yeah last drive that three and out sometimes that puts your defense in a bad spot you got to get a drive together here so you don't wear the defense out I just think David too predictable that last Drive they got to do something here to get this defense on their heels and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go third and 10 still backed up inside their own 20 this drive hasn't really gotten started from the gun wants to pass and that is interception number three on the day and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception what a gamechanging play by this defense nice job you got them backed up in their own territory coming out now you force the turnover set your offense up with some great scoring field position here's the hand off smashes through not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven offense working from the pistol they'll go right back to him he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three and the last thing they need is to squander this great field position facing a third and long fires toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown Florida a quick strike just as we expected yeah and quick strikes are easy when you got such great field position obviously when the offense starts in such a good spot puts the defense in a bad position and the offense takes advantage on to attempt the try point and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and the finisher an 18yd touchdown throw and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 the Louisville offense is headed back out on the field one of the most valuable things a quarterback can have David shortterm memory just forget that last pick you dang right clear the mechanism it's over move some players can't do that real well and it leads to more mistakes Jesse you got to just forget about it and move on and I think the coaching staff can help him too David I think you can get the running game going here and also give him some easy throws and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down line I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job game tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble feeling some heat the Freshman able to get home with the sack well you can see why this team thinks this kid they snapped it to the upman he's on the Run they W full for a minute he is nowhere close to the first down and they'll turn it over excellent field position here for the offense the lone backs got it tackle is made at the 30 yd line after he picked up four after the productive first down play it's second and six the hand off to Johnson and they Tred the middle of this defense and that is not happening coming to the line scrimmage at the 30 it would be a long field goal but they'd love to pick up a few here on Third and long got a man and he's brought down after a nice game the gator have it with a first and 10 the give to the tail back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one it's amazing how play by a defensive end in the back field can really swing momentum not only of a series but of a game sometimes all you're trying to do is create negative plays to get them behind the sticks a little bit to get those sacks to get those tackles for a losses you see so much stunting in college football up front with the defensive line because you know once you get one of those plays you got the offense right where you are on third down he drops to throw caught over the middle it's Badger and boy is he close to that first down maybe just a couple of inches sure so here comes the field goal unit they've been doing work today they've already made a couple KN splits the eppr and puts three on the board and now the lead is even bigger well you're always going to wonder what would could have should have happened on Fourth and inches had they gone for it but with this kicker I like taking three points and putting it on the board and it'll be a Touchback the ball will come out to the 25 yd line Louisville has it back in the off coming out ready to attack they are trailing by 10 here Jesse but this is the type of team that seems comfortable in an offensive shootout you got to hold serve at this point right you got to drive the field put some more points up on the board yeah they just scored you can answer that now and keep this thing close to and I think you're used to that as offense like football is so fastpaced now and you score so quickly it's not that big of a deal to get down 10 you keep being you keep being aggressive he's you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first back to pass it's shot a strike downfield and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one and the Cardinals are marching down the field from the gun the ground game they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 they go something we can disrupt the quarterback and and mess up this offense a little bit off the play fake on first down to throw makes the grab he makes the catch he's knocked down immediately but they'll have a go to go situation from the anle on the doorstep of cashing in for the offense a first down run in the Red Zone not much room he gets one down to the seven defense rose up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming they'll run it up the middle here looking for a path to the end zone not much room he gets one down to the seven and this offense trying to be physical I'm seeing the defense well I see what they're doing from a coverage standpoint count on me to throw a touchdown here and help out our team this kicker's leg is getting a workout he's already made three field goals and here he comes again the official says no good guys have missed opportunity there the lead is still well everybody in the stadium thought that was an automatic three not so fast bad Miss by the kicker wants to throw on first down catch in the middle it's Johnson how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him too now on second and short after the first down completion and it's picked off for the fourth time today Bo this is just the type of field position this offense wants he's going to pass gets it out quickly no chance to run but they still moving forward now on second down run the gun the running back has it and he found plenty of Running Room on that one before the defense was finally able to get him down he's piled up 76 yds rushing already here in the first half it's a season opener but he's in mid-season form he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three defense rolls up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming the run up the middle trying to find his way to the goal line they get him down but not before he picks up six to the seven yd line they'd love to make this short field payoff with a touchdown instead of settling for three but it is third and goal he's got it and he was straining for the goal line but the defense stopped him short so the offense will try to punch it in here on Fourth and goal from the one to the edge it's Johnson will not get there a fourth down stop first and 10 from inside their own five you got to take care of the ball but there is room to take a shot here nearly another interception it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again out of the gun they'll run it inside and the defense was just daring them to throw over the top and the offense didn't and they got stuck they're about to wear this punter out he's already been out four times staring at a fifth if they can't move the chain on the defense is about firing off hitting the offensive guys and staying in your Gap they fake it again pretty soon you keep faking it it's not really a fake they tried to catch him napping on that fake but turns out they were wide awake and the gator have it in scoring position on first and goal on the ground he pushes it forward all the way to the two yd line second and goal for this offense around the end it's Johnson he steps and powers and works his way they finally get him down at the two and they've inched closer and closer and still two yds to go for the touchdown here on third down touchdown Gators and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house number one wow this offense they have a lot of faith in this running back knowing if they get down this area of the field he can get it done and he can answer the Bell two rushing touchdowns already for this offense and with the extra point they're now up by a touchdown and a field goal at 10 they're just about ready to kick it away and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 the louville offense is headed back out on the field the deficit here is just 10 points David So a chance to answer here plenty of time left in this football game no need to panic this offense just has to put a couple Drives together and listen the defense will get this back and get some stop call and get you the football back and I think I think here too David you have an opportunity to keep the pressure on the opponent yeah they just went down and scored but you score here and this game spilled tight you keep their feet to the fire so an opportunity here to keep applying that pressure direct snap fights his way for a couple but stop short of the marker it's fourth and one the Cardinals will line sticks for a first down the Gators come to the line with a fresh set of Downs trying to find his man on first down quick strike complete he makes the stop almost as soon as he catches it they're short of the first down and the short completion brings up second down looking to the big tight end he's got an open man the stop is made but this offense is threatening first and goal from the nine defense is backed up shadow of the goal post trying to defend their own End Zone this offense is about to face the one thing that can stop it time expiring in the first half before then they can get another score quarterback feeling the pressure and down he goes at the 22 the offense calls timeout it's the second one they've used this half defense rolls up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming and the pressure is coming in and they get him again I love the pass rush here by the defense two straight plays with their backs against the wall does not get better third and goal coming up here dropping back it's MERS they're working that left side and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short game his field goal unit getting some serious run they've already line coach is definitely going to be up and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 and I think this team knew going into halftime Trail their defense was going to have to step up here in the second half and on the very first play of the third quarter they get a sack that is good news for this defense tried to get it going in the right direction this time second and long from the 19 they'll give it to Johnson and he is just engulfed at the line by this giant and defensive tackle maybe that stop is a good sign for this defense maybe the defense is starting to figure it out obviously offense has been running the football with so much success something has to change that was a good start getting some heat and the sack all the way back at the five well this defense knew they had to get off to a fast start here in the second half they're trailing by a bunch of points right now on the scoreboard they needed to make something positive happen early and on the very first drive they get a sack on third down looking to get the ball back to their offense here the gator will bring the punt team onto the field three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball he gets it away from his in zone and a very good kick here Fields the punt and tries to work it the other way that Nifty return sets up the offense and negates some of the yardage on the punt Louisville has it back in the offense coming out ready to attack caught behind line it's Bell and they're able to force him out of bounds after a short pickup and here comes the offense on second [Applause] down caught in the back field it's Brooks they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive on Third and short trying to impose their will and move the chains now they're really starting to threaten as they pick up the first down at the 34 yd line and the Cardinals come to the line with a new set of downs complete to the right defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal with the six that's what's so scary about this offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play with the run on first and goal they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and he tried to do all he could he broke one tackle but my goodness guys were hitting left and right in the back field this is a staple for any good defensive coordinator they want their guys to swarm to the football to gang tackle if one guy misses another one's there no doubt and the stap for the offensive
