ZINNIA MALDONADO HAS WHAT WE KNOW AND WHAT WE DON'T KNOW AT THIS HOUR. >> Reporter: DOUG AND ELAINE, LISA ZORNBERG IS THE CHIEF COUNSEL FOR THE CITY OF NEW YORK. NOT MANY DETAILS WERE GIVEN WHEN SHE MADE THAT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT HER SUDDEN DEPARTURE LATE LAST NIGHT JUST BEFORE 11:00 P.M. MAYOR ERIC ADAMS APPOINTED HER TO THE ROLE IN JULY 2023, WHICH MEANS IT WAS ONLY A LITTLE MORE THAN A YEAR AND A HALF SHE IS BEEN IN THAT ROLE. NOW THE FORMER FEDERAL PROSECUTOR DID RELEASE A BRIEF STATEMENT LAST NIGHT READING, I AM DEEPLY GRATEFUL TO MAYOR ADAMS FOR GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE THE CITY AND I STRONGLY SUPPORT THE WORK HE HAS DONE AND CONTINUES TO DO FOR NEW YORKERS, A VERY BRIEF STATEMENT SHE GAVE LAST NIGHT. MAYOR ADAMS ALSO RELEASED A STATEMENT, READING APART, WE APPRECIATE ALL THE WORK LISA HAS DONE FOR OUR ADMINISTRATION AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE CITY, OVER THE PAST 13 MONTHS. THESE ARE HARD JOBS AND WE DON'T EXPECT ANYONE TO STAY IN THEM FOREVER. NOW HER DECISION TO STEP DOWN COMES AFTER FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS SEIZED THE DEVICES OF SEVERAL SENIOR ADAMS ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS AND AS DETAILS CONTINUE TO EMERGE IN A SERIES OF CORRUPTION PROSE. EDWARD CABAN RESIGNED AFTER FEDERAL OFFICIALS SEIZED HIS PHONE AS PART OF THE INVESTIGATION. ADAMS HAS COMPLETELY DENIED ANY WRONGDOING AND STATED HE IS BEING
