AJ Brown to hurt you being traded like AJ would you um would you say you're in the best shape in your career uh I think so it's always stuff to improve on you know I'm always uh trying to get better at that you know uh I like to say for myself you know I can easily play five plays but being effective for those five play is it's a deal breaker for me so that's that's your motivation it is Devon said yesterday that the receivers have more freedom in in this in the new scheme um do you agree you elaborate yeah yeah and and how the receivers have more freedom um I'll say just when it come to certain routes trusting each other me and me and Jaylen uh SMY everybody on the field just trusting trusting each other to be on the same page and you know uh make sure you at the spot when it's time you know I think that's uh that's a pretty good thing pretty pretty fun thing for a wide receiver too as I'm sure you heard Nick made a point of mentioning that you were at the rookie mini camp kind of watching those guys a why was that something you wanted to do on a Friday during the offseason and be what do you see from those rookies and tri out guys first of all man I love football you know I was itching to get back you know and uh and I wanted to you know uh be around the guys you know if I can help help somebody with something you know ID do that and um you know just just trying to be a a good leader AJ how did the the way the season ended last year both personally and for the team shape your mentality heading into this off season not every loss is is a loss you know I don't even like this to say a loss is a loss you know it's always a lesson always something to learn from you know and I feel like you better learn something from it you know um or it's going to return you know and I'm always going to have that mentality to put in the work you know grind and you know put my best foot forward you know intact each and every day moving forward like I can't worry about the past I can't about yesterday and you know I'm I'm here right now and that's all I have today like today practice that's all I'm I'm granted with and that's what I got to do and and give him all today did you change much about your your offseason training program have I have I Chang uh yeah I won't get into into what I what I'm doing but uh yeah I always ask myself at the end of the season can I work harder you know U what else can I do you know and those are the questions I ask myself and the answer is always yes hey there's a lot of talk about the third receiver spot trying to find something for that role when you look at the receiver room some of the guys here like Ross and Campbell andby and some of the guys some new drafts what what do you see what's your view on that I see a lot of competition it's going to be fine uh want the guys to compete man those guys are are making plays as you see yesterday and it's going to be it's good for the room you know competition is really good for the room it's going to push every single body we don't want anybody in that room complacent and you know always trying to get better and striving to get better you know so on the other side AJ stood out to you in that regard has anybody stood out the whole group the whole group has been been working extremely hard uh a couple guys been working back from injury um but they they want to improve and and that's the positive on the other side the yester what have you seen from him in terms of his uh key um it's difficult at times um you know going against because you go against him I go against him a lot you know he's definitely uh growing um you can see you can see a difference step with him you know I'm not going to put too much pressure on him up here but you you definitely see a different step with him and you know he's uh he's hungry you know he's competing at a high level so have you Al have you also had the chance to go against the two rookie cornerbacks Cooper and qu and kind your thoughts uh Q uh doesn't talk as much guys I don't think y'all know that he doesn't really say anything and the first words um I heard from him was like Hey that that uh that rck was trash I said what I said you don't even talking you talking trash H and so it was funny it was funny to hear from him you know and I told him I said all right I like to see that you know I want to see you you step up cuz he's not going to be playing against me he's going to be playing against other guys and you know I want to see him you know hold his own you know and I told him I said all right you took the first step but I said now you got to back it up you going to have to walk you have to walk that walk and um I've been telling I've been looking forward to to get get some reps against him you know so Isaiah Rogers is another guy went through some stuff he's off for 500 Days how impressive has he been getting back into it for a guy that that has not played football for a year and coming back uh it looks like he's been uh playing nonstop honestly I'm going give praise to uh to him giving him his flowers um he you can tell he loves football you know he's happy to be back you can tell he's jumping all over the field you know he just literally just told me and walk through he going to have two picks today and I told him not against me but go get him though you know uh but he's happy man he's happy to be back you know he's flying around you know uh and he's going to do special stuff for it this year we're talking about all these young Corners how much is having these kind of guys going to raise the competition level of practice and especially into Camp yeah I um you know having these young Corners you talk a little you know it's fun you know that that gets practice going I want I want somebody talk no to me um you know slay and and James you know those guys are chill laidback you know good guys but you can't really talk trash to them like but they just going to do their job and say I got you or something like that but uh well those guys they they hungry the young guys are hungry you know it's good like I said it's not just for our room just for the team you know for that room too you know to raise the level of expectations so tell you tell think about the chemistry of a team at this time of year what do you feel like the chemistry is right here right now at this time man we have a great team codery we've been enjoying each other you know uh we're still in the early development in process you know we we still trying to figure things out on the field put put things together you know so you really can't get a feel like we I can't come up here and say we're going to do this and that you know um practices you know it goes like this cuz it's it's June you know it's supposed to be like that you know when we put the pass on and we get ready for Camp you know and you still really don't know then until you go out there and you play football and that's when everybody don't know we get both to see out of a new offense and how you what would I wanted to see honestly I'm all years it was nothing that I I was like wanting to see or eager to see you know um I was happy or not happy where I was excited uh to work with Kellen you know and to to learn from him to see what he thinks and how he calls the games but so yeah new veteran wide receivers in the room who have who have high draft pedigree in Paris Campbell and John Ross Paris said part of the reason he came here was to to watch greatness to be close to you and Devonte what's been your impression of those two guys so far man they've been doing really good man they've been really competing making plays you know in his League you have to make plays and they've been doing it every day and um just to hear um Paris just say that you know it means a lot you know uh cuz he's in my class know and so uh uh it's a good feeling the number you gave us last year was was 23 miles hour for your offseason training yeah is there a a number this year that you hit I hit 23 again yeah so all right thanks guys Brandon Graham Jord stse for real I sure used to say that well how y'all doing good how you liking uh the new Vic system I like it a lot honestly um I see a lot I see a lot of the guys playing fast um more simplified I mean you see the you see them people being able to just show their show their uh athleticism and man I'm just I'm excited for the young guys cuz you know they get a real good look at at what the NFL is all about first guys like oh seeing uh with q that boy he he's breaking he's he's as advertised um as far as you know just seeing him out there playing fast I mean you see why he went first round and uh Co Co ER same thing I mean smart um picking up on this little stuff on what some of the guys do cuz how I tell too a little bit of how a guy come in you you know you see I see Lane all the time so I know Lane so you can start to see he picking up little stuff that uh AJ and the guys do and you know I I was I was kind of surprised to see him talking stuff to AJ one day and I was like okay I I like his I like his uh attitude and you know you just want to see him keep winning but uh I like our gamee so far talk about huh just said doesn't normally talk a lot yeah that reaction 100% you know he's real quiet observant uh I understand he's just trying to find his way and um trying to make sure that you know he do his job I'm sure and make a good impression but um yeah I mean we we've been welcoming it's not like them old days like when I first was in here I used to be scared boy when them vets come around cuz you could end up singing you can end up holding some somebody shoulder pads or just making sure you uh keep in the room stocked up on on a lot of uh snacks and stuff but um these days you just you just want them to help us win that you're knowing that you're last season is there things you you're going to do uh differently just to maybe just take it all and guys talk all the time about how had look around what do you how do you plan approaching your last season well I've I've done everything everything I haven't missed no days uh this offseason program Enjoying the last little hurah of everything that I can I mean supporting the guys on a lot of stuff that they doing off the field and um just the way how we put this this team together I can feel the good vibe you know of man he put us in a good position for this to be my last year I'm happy to go out with a team like this and now we just got to put in the work and yeah man I'm I'm just enjoying every second of this mandatory I ain't in no rush to go nowhere cuz at the end of the day only time I'm going somewhere is to go take baby girl to gymnastics or baby boy to whatever he got to go to family stuff but uh I'm definitely enjoying uh just supporting supporting everybody how different is it with uh how different how different is it without flet and and Jason each and every day so you don't see well I just got off the phone with flet so it ain't no different right now I mean other than you just you just got to bring up them them younger guys like JC and JD they doing a good job I can't wait for JD uh to get that uh name up off him because man I I see him I see his dedication I see what he's doing and and JC is coming along even more from his first year the second year and man I just I'm excited for for the future for them because them boys feeding off each other right now them boys pushing each other they got a good coach and uh Clint and I I really think that last year um we just didn't we that's what we didn't have uh we didn't have all the right coaches in the right position you know I would say and you know you can just see the guys just truly believing in what what we got going on and I'm excited for the young guys that just came in and new new uh rookies coming in CU they really going to get a good shot at good taste of what it what it really is to be in the NFL when you said that thing about the right coaches for the right position how how early do you notice that um you just you just notice little stuff uh last year on certain stuff you wasn't on the same page about this here and there it will pop up but it popped up in a big way that last game and it's just like if I anything I learn um you always want to make sure that we just had a proper communication so this real big communication going on right now uh within the locker room within on the field uh in in the classrooms and you know I just I know how he was going to get it fixed uh cuz once you know this you just got to deal with it during the year and I mean that's how it that's how it is but I don't see none of that at all I'm more excited about um you know just because we do got fangio uh somebody experiened real real good not saying that uh anything about you know the the past but it was just more like you know you could just tell that everybody's on the same page about stuff how do you think fixed it h you said Howe got it fixed how did Howe get it fixed just you know I feel like he always do what he do he he he he um he's the wizard I say just you know trying to figure it out on where we went wrong being honest having those hard conversations and not scared to you know make make certain moves to make sure that you know when you got a good team like we did and good players um sometimes it don't always reflect that because of us not being on the same page sometimes that's the difference in this professional sports all it take is one person to mess up on an assignment and then you know it cost us the game stuff like that um and and he knew he knew a lot of stuff we know uh we seen it and I I know he wanted to get it right cuz who want to look bad um for playing for the Eagles cuz we got y'all just going to make sure y'all expose every little area that we not good so um I think he did a good job of just bringing the guys in know really bringing some real good um you know coaches that's really good and um yeah I'm I'm I'm excited to see uh where we go what are the signs you look for at this point in the what are the signs you look for right now to make sure that it is going to work that the right coach I see how we play uh during OTAs right now how we doing um how we going doing team reps and stuff like that you could just see that everybody is the communication is is has been really good and Flawless almost um I mean we got some some work for sure but I love that everybody just on the same page and talking the same language and you know every room on defense and you can see that the offense is is excited about what they got going to and it's good competition you just see the battles that people the back and forth the jabbering back and forth with each other because you confident in what you what you know already uh because if I'm confident in my in myself and knowing the defense of course I'm going go out and talk my stuff to the other guys but if I'm not as confident I'm just really overthinking you know cuz I'm trying to figure out what to do every play and not really showing my personality uh and being that dog that I know I could be but uh when I see that with the rookies I know we headed in the right direction One getting back to the offseason program as someone who's who's been involved in the PA what's your view of the of the proposal to I don't like it I don't like it at all I I think that you need to like the spring if you want to do it keep it at April you know go go five weeks instead of eight or nine whatever it is and then you know we we get our summer summertime I mean that's usually nice little break people get to go off and do their trip or something like that even for the coaches same thing it's like um you know they get a little break too and I just don't think I don't think it's good I think it's we got to keep that June and July uh Fourth of July I mean last who ride with your family before you really get into business uh but I do know they want to go to 18 games and all that stuff too um if anything we could just move it up one week um instead of that last week we could do mid July but not giving up I ain't trying to give up well I wouldn't want to give up if I was still a player uh next year uh June and little bit of July or is this definitely well no I'm I'm going be I'm going be a part of the Eagles organization uh for sure um but as a player I think that's this this will be my last little hurah I'm going enjoy it too all right thanks guys does Jordan Mailata uh anybody want to take break before we leave want start okay what's the room been like without Jason Kelsey or you knowa stuff uh it's been different it's kind of weird not having the goat there um you know Kelsey was a you know major part of this organization um and he's going to continue being a part of this city until he decides to be done with Philly but don't see that in the future anytime soon I think in regards as how we're doing in the room I think we're doing a good job of maintaining the standard um you know I'm making it pretty clear Lane's making it pretty clear land is making it pretty clear that before any of us even came to the Philadelphia Eagles there was a standard that was set and it was kept up by guys by Jason Kelce Jason Peters Lane Johnson um Brandon Brooks Isaac somalo and we have to be able to play to that standard and I think holding everybody accountable to that standard of you know coming in watching film seeing how the standard is being being Set uh by the past and now we have to fill in their shoes and be the present and I think we're doing a good job right now of of really holding that standard High I know it's super early but you know with Cam Jurgens in that Center what are you noticing about the way he's communicating to the offens of line and also some other New pieces um I mean I'm not surprised at all that Cam's doing a great job um he's a center he's not a Right Guard and he's done a outstanding job of filling in and um you know being very vocal um we're big on communication up front and cam it starts off with Cam and he's done a great job of you know making the calls and we're just doing a good job of echoing it so everybody's on the same page and Cam's killing itable is story your story and a second part to that question what's the value of the academy in Australia um lakan l no no no no you did it right um I was trying to answer the second question before the jump the gun um yeah pretty pretty comparable except um you know at least I had about 3 months to and I came from you know a semi pro sport lak's coming straight from his Mormon Mission it's a a little different there you know at least I had experience uh with routine and and what a professional lifestyle of a of an athlete would be um and then I had 3 months to adjust before I got to the NFL through the IP program and he's just walked in off the street so I would say pretty similar storyline but uh uh he has a more direct pathway and uh you know speaking about Pathways the NFL Academy in Australia they like how I link those up guys right I'm getting better at this I'm getting better at this um NFL has done a great job of you know continuing to discover Talent around the world and you know we're pretty fortunate in Australia to have an NFL Academy um in the Gold Coast now to SC Scout you know the Asia Pacific region and uh see what what other stories can come from it what have been like getting to know beckon and uh what are you seeing you know devel kai ah man Kai's a great dude and I think we're pretty lucky to have him in in this on this team um getting to know kai has been like pretty easy I feel like I've known him forever it's just really easy to get along with him guy's really funny he's smart um very athletic um but then you know I don't know it's just like like an old friend just came in I only spoke to the B two two times before he came to the Eagles and now we speak every day it's good how do you do a guard a position he he never played at in the pros Makai he's doing a good job he's doing a good job I mean you just said it he's never played guard in the NFL and you know we're doing a stout doing a great job of you know trying to teach him um you know multiple positions start always talks about Val ad and um I think he wants that for Maki just to see what what else can Mak do other than tackle we know he can play tackle what else can he bring to the table and you know makai's done a great job of just saying yes he hasn't questioned him he's never said I've never done it he he in fact embraced the the the opportunity to learn how to play guard and you know when I see things like that from aai it just makes me want to play next to him if if his number was C you know because you want guys who are just going to be willing and able to put the team first before their own needs I think Makai does a great job of doing that even though he has no experience he's just out here learning he's grinding he's chipping away every day trying to get better at guard we know he can play tackle what was that that trip back to Australia like uh pretty pretty far pretty fast and pretty fun um it was it was pretty hectic I'm not going to lie uh just we landed in Australia it was so great being home uh representing the Eagles representing Australia um and essentially representing America you know I'm a product of America now well by product yes and um it was pretty fun to to get to go back home and and talk about the sport I I've grown to love and um you know spread it with the with the fans back home and I got to see my family for a little bit um announc The Academy announc the draft and then I was back here back at OTAs the next morning so you spoke a little bit about the leadership part of it keeping that standard going forward did you come into it this year and know Kelsey and said to yourself that maybe I have to step up a little bit from that leadership or is that just natural um it's kind of both you know I I knew we have you know the past couple years we've had great leaders in the room you know and I and I did my best to lead when I could um and just let you know Kel we had a phenomenal leader in Kels Capitan and I knew that I was just trying to take notes off everything that Kel was setting how he I just literally studied him how he handled certain situ situations how he would coach Us in the room how he would coach us on the field so coming into this year losing KS was a big part of that but I've always I'd like to think that I've always been kind of like a natural leader and um when we talk about that we have to talk about the standard that was set before Kelsey leaving was a big part of you know always maintaining that standard that was his goto maintain the standard at practice walk through the game day and that's all I'm trying to do now because I've learned for the past six years under under Kelson Lane I've learned under Fletch under BG like you know our captains I've learned to lead by example to live by the standard and and you know hold yourself first before you hold others accountable so I just came into this year you know trying to feel that role but making my own skill guys have talked about apparent differences with Kell here now gu how different is it for you guys you um I think it's pretty pretty similar Upfront for us um with with all the terminology um you know Stout does a good job of you know what we had last year and what we have this year and and and trying to see what's similar and then talk about the differences so that we're on the same page as everyone Kellen does a great job of um as as far as routes couldn't tell you man I I don't run arounds so I'm not going to tell you here like yeah man running Middlefield we're running out or we're running post like I'm not going to sit here and you guys like I don't know I do know he loves to play action and I do know he loves to run the ball I do know he loves to pass the ball so it's it's a good mix right now of of everything and excited to go you know come back in training camp and get the ball rolling thanks Jordan we have coming up hey Dallas how difficult has it been Dallas Goedert uh with the new offense and sort of trying to mesh what Nick was doing and Brian now Kellen and and Doug n yeah I think they've uh done a really good job of you know taking the things we did well um from our past offense and uh making sure we kept the important things of that and uh you know K's done a good job of installing uh his offense what he wants what he thinks is going to be beneficial for us um I think the coach have done a good job of teaching it regrouping it so it makes sense for all of us um but anytime you put in a new offense there's going to be a little bit of learning curves um with different verbiage um stuff me meant something different than it did now uh so you work through those things but uh as we go throughout the phase two and phase three when we started uh doing walkthroughs and stuff the first couple times hearing formations plays uh it gets a little tough but after you do hear it a couple times uh it Smooths itself out and uh it kind of becomes second nature you just start to relearn it and uh go there and start playing fast again out to most about tight ends specifically in in the role offense yeah there's uh there's definitely different stuff for us um obviously uh we we're moving around trying to get tells with the defense um you know getting into those uh quick throws to the tight ends uh has probably been one of my favorite things that we added into it um I think those can be beneficial for the tight ends and the whole team as a general so uh that's probably what i' have to say what what kind of things did you do to kind of get ready for this season I know like the last two years obviously you had the injuries you know freak injuries and stuff like that but was there anything different you did this offseason to get ready yeah uh not really you know uh this off season uh I had to spend time trying to get my arm right um you know it wasn't 100% at the end of the season so I gave that time to rest and then uh you know just came in came into this OTA phase uh ready to work ready to learn ready to you know take all the coaching points I can get and then you know I'm going to really uh focus on everything that I learned everything that the coaches tell me everything they want me to improve on work on and you know once we close from OTAs uh or mandatory mini camp now uh spend my my summer uh you know like AJ says just pick one thing a day and work on that and just try to slowly improve 1% each day of a different thing that coaches give me to work on Dallas I'm not sure if you heard uh BG at the very end there when uh um we asked about the the new schedule and at least that suggestion or report how do you feel about it have you read that have you seen it how would you feel about yeah I've looked at it uh a little bit and it's kind of one of those things where uh you can I can see both sides of it I can see the positives of both um you know my one thing is you come in here you do all this football stuff you get in shape and then we have a month and a half off you know and it's why do we get in such good shape now uh you know we got to stay in shape for the next month and a half where I see uh a benefit of a wrap-up period but like BG said uh it's nice you know that give us a lot of time off before for the June or July where we'd come back um so it is nice to have a little bit of structure in between the seasons um coming into OTAs now um and I think it's really important as a team to be able to grow and connect in this period where I feel like if we just come back in July even though it's supposed to be a ramp up period uh when you get back and you know you don't have a break before the season uh the fun and games kind of go away and it's just all seriousness because uh you know the season is so close at that point what do you notice out of jayen to this point maybe how the end of last season has has shaped yeah I think I think jaylen's been doing an incredible job this off season uh you know same thing as the rest of us he's he's uh open he's a sponge he's trying to learn everything he can and uh you can see him transitioning from the meeting rooms to the field uh you know whether it's a correction whether it's an install something like that you know he's he's not a guy that wants to make the same mistake twice so uh he's out there he's he's making sure he gets better every every single play and uh that just helps Elevate the rest of the team you know cuz if he doesn't want any mistakes that just puts more pressure on us making sure we're in the right spot at the right time so I think he's been doing a great job making sure that everybody gets on the same page and everybody knows what they're doing so uh stuff that happened last year doesn't happen again uh has there been anything that's happening off the away from the facility or just so you guys can um build a new culture for this team yeah I'd say uh probably the biggest thing that uh we've been doing this year is uh getting out golfing with a lot of people uh saquon's been really big into it and and uh you know it seems like once a week uh we get a group of 10 15 20 guys that go out there and um are playing together and that's just a great time of you know you can make fun other people's swings you can uh sit in a cart you're there outside for four hours try not to be on your phone and it's just a great time to you know learn a little bit more about your teammate and uh you know do something that's fun and a little bit of a you can challenge and compete doing it as well yeah it's going into year seven for you what's the next step for you as a player um yeah you know just continue to try to make this team as as good as I can and uh you know we want to make a run uh that's the most important thing it starts one day at a time uh but for me uh winning is the most important thing the personal accolades are something that uh you know everybody wants but they don't mean as much to me uh we got a really special team uh so whatever I can do to help uh everybody on our team you know you know we might have to throw it to AJ and Schmitty 150 times each you know and and that's good with me as long as we're winning two more guys theing C is having what is stood out to you about Grant yeah I think Grant's been having a great spring you know he came ready uh he looks smooth um you know it's just kind of one of that steps is he's going into his third year um he hasn't played a ton of football but throughout uh last year and the year before you know he gets mixed in here and there and I think this year um without Jack being here he's getting more reps on offense he's getting more routes um and yeah he's looking really good so it's something that I hope he continues to grow on and I hope in Camp that he comes back looking just like this so uh we get more two tight ends on the field and have a have a strong um push that way all right thanks guys what was your reaction when they drafted you guys at at in first and second round at your position how did Kelee Ringo how did you kind of process that and um it's a great opportunity to compete more you know um of course every single person brought in the building is um a great player and of course with um our coaches valuations of players you know so I just feel like each and every single day is ultimately going to get our our group better so that's how much more comfortable do you feel right now now than you did at this time last year man um huge I I feel like the the best thing I can help you with that is definitely reps you know so um having a year under my belt has definitely helped me be able to be more calm with my play and I'm also just seeing what offense are doing against me and strategies and things like that what are the differences that you notice in in your own game from your one your two I would say um a little bit more my patience um my process in the game you know when the when when the ball's like I'm not having to think as much as I as I used to so I feel like that just slows the game a lot more for me so you're able to play faster when you think less you got a chance to play some some serious reps at the end of the year um when you look back on that uh how do you evaluate yourself how do you think you did um I feel like I pretty pretty decent but I feel like there always room to get better specifically at the corner position I feel like it's arguably one of the hardest positions on the field you know so just um little things like coming out my breaks um being able to see what offense they doing against me um seeing formations um and just learning Concepts and things like that can definitely help me play at a higher level than I did last year as well what about the uh competition in the room now with you know not only you and Rex but also you know the two new guys like how does that make you guys all better or doesn't yeah um I definitely would say only thing it does is get us better you know because um everything's up for grabs I feel like just having that opportunity to be able to compete for um everything that everybody wants um I feel like that definitely brings the best out of every single person out here you know especially with our offense as well with um how deep Our receiver room is as well man you're getting a lot of different looks too so it feels really good looks like you and AJ had some really good reps against each other yesterday how valuable is it to go against a receiver like that on a daily basis as you guys know he's a great opo receiver um I feel like just going against a guy like that every single day can only help me get better um as well as last year on Scout team too definitely help me elevate my game which actually gave me the opportunity to be able to play so yeah going against AJ is a great opportunity you mentioned the patience part of it um you know as a first year player wondering how much urgency was kind of part of that trying to get acclimated what what urgencies I don't know what was that like kind of reaching to a point of patience man um really being able to trust yourself out there you know trust your training and what you're learning on the inside of the room I feel like and once you're able to do that more and um play more comfortable out there you know I feel like once you know something more whether it's the Playbook or What offense is trying to do against you you know you're able to um digest it a lot easier and faster so you're not able to um so you're not thinking as much after the ball's snapped so I feel like when you able to do that you're able to just go I feel like that's when you play better were there moments that you had to kind of let go with the people that helped you through that uh 100% 100% outside of the on field competition there other ways in which AJ has helped uh you develop I'm sad again I'm sorry outside of the onfield competition anything off the field ways in which uh you know AJ is is helping you develop yes sure um and just how we how how we're out here caring ourselves um everyday life honestly um of course being out there um just just living in Philly things like that you know we're just not normal people I I definitely would say just the way that you carry yourself on the outside of the building and on um on the inside of the building could definitely um just help you character wise so ke we when AJ was here earlier you know we kind of lit up when we asked about how you've developed you you've already talked about it in in regards to how much more comfortable you are but you also mentioned that you have like a different step do you feel physically uh Stronger better more prepared this year and if so why sir I definitely do I do feel like I am um the I feel like the main thing I would say is just having a little bit more experience um after you get underneath your belt you kind of know what things look like you know you kind of know what to expect and I feel like as a rookie last year was kind of like man um of course I'm ready for for any challenge in every single one that that comes to me but um being able to have experience and seeing what it looks like can definitely help you um apply better when the time comes if you go back last year you came out as a as a 20-year-old uh junior right um how do you think the year in the NFL having that developmental year compared to I guess benefited you compared to had you stayed at at Georgia W were you um definitely got to grow fast um I feel like that's one of the biggest things and um man it's it's either do or die that's that's the best way I could that's best way I could explain it you know so after the uh season was over how did you approach your offseason what did you surround yourself with did you kind of kind of how to process and work through things I'm just surrounding surrounding myself around people that can only help me get better at my craft um I feel like that's that's the main thing I like keeping the main thing the main thing and I feel like just whether a strategy um seeing different kind of concepts for offense defenses formations things like that just really want to um open my brain up to things like that your impressions of Vic fangio so far um he's old school coach um and I I definitely like that about him for sure um he has a scheme and he has strategies of the way he coaches and I like that he sticks to that you know and um and all of us are definitely ready to buy into that how much of a benefit will it be for the rookies to have slay kind of take them under his wing great um just just like how I had him last year and I actually continue to didn't mean to say I had him last year but um man slay good he I definitely would say he's a good vet he's real vocal when um when you ask him to be you know a just able to pick his brain um I feel like it almost feels like he the answer for everything that you ask him so I I feel like it's a good best to be able to have what about the nonf football piece of being 20 coming to a new city um you know having some money being away from home all that stuff um how challenging was that if if at all and how did you kind of navigate through that I feel like the best way to explain is um just do the right thing you know I I feel like there's a fine line with doing it or not you know um and I feel like take taking that upon yourself could definitely um help you be able to be successful no matter what it is so you think because of your size that your speed is underestimated um I'm not too sure um I feel like i' no matter where I'm at I feel like I'm pretty fast so cool thanks K afternoon what Devin White up what are your impressions of VI fangio so far um I don't know so far I got a a great impression um he throwing a lot at us right now so um just him being a complicated uh guy uh with his scheme you know trying to uh just be expansion you know uh be expansion you know I think uh he's doing a great job with mixing it up adding new things and you know just keeping it coming mentioned that to us that he likes to throw a lot at you guys early and sort of Whittle it down from there is that rare in your experience or is that uh I I think um you know I I was in one place for a long time and I think uh we kind of you know learned little by little and mastered and then moved on and worked off of what we learned but um doing it this way is fine as well it just make you have to uh be a little more tedious study a little more you know outside of the building meet with your coaches a little more on in your free time so um I like what he doing you know it just hold it makes everybody be accountable of their of their job that's been as right um I don't know I think it's the same thing um you know as far as um calling the plays uh when we go dime you know being a lonesome linebacker out there and making you know making uh checks and stuff still um playing a lot of the same coverage similar coverages uh kind of just doing a lot of the similar things he's putting in more packages now as far as Blix and linebackers blicking this person blicking this person so at the end of the day I think football is just football you know you just got to learn new new words I think uh at the end of the day cover three is cover three cover nine is cover nine but Vic might call it one thing that I'm not used to hear him but I got to learn his way what conversation or or deal was made with with aado to get 45 oh man I just told him uh you know the reason behind it uh you know why I embrace it so much and I mean he was very understanding you know he a great guy he said he was uh happy to have me on his team and you know he didn't see no problem with letting me getting it but uh kudos to him anything he need I I'm in depth to him big time for you personally um what's it like playing in this defense what do you think about the guys around you how's that working out um for me personally uh it's been very fun you know just uh coming in and obviously uh gaining gaining those guys trust that's been here and obviously the new guys as well um playing with a lot of dogs you know a lot of Highly touted players that's coming out of college or that have been in the league you know you got the young guys you got the older guys like you know slay couple of those guys who's been doing it for a long time and I think it's it's a mixture of both worlds you know all over the field and I think uh you know just having that that that young leadership that older leadership ship and the middle leadership I feel like uh we could be special together I think that's kind of been like the carryover into OTAs and mini camp is just having fun you know um having an identity and a Swagger about ourselves how B said of the owners meetings that you needed to change the scenery do you feel like that was the case and and if so what has the change of scener done for you um I mean I I I don't know if I needed a change of senior but I feel like it was definitely good you know a breath of fresh air you know to be able to start over and you know work my way from the ground up you know it ain't nothing like life humbling experiences and I feel like what I went through at the end of the last year was very humbling for me and uh obviously just put me back to the root of everything you know uh where I want to build myself back up and I know I can do it I did it coming out of high school I did it coming out of college uh I did it when I first got in the NFL and it's time to do it again and um and that's a guy that's always had my back and if he said that then I really agree cuz he knows best you know like I say he was a father figure to me still to this day check in on me and um I'm man I think this new scenery is good you know I'm I'm with a great organization I'm around great people every day I already had a lot of friends on this team so that it's good to get a chance to play with them and uh hopefully I don't have to keep changing seniors do you feel like in this defense there are is many opportunities to rush the passer that you had with bucks um I feel like coach Vic is a player if you good at something he going to make sure he exploit it you know so if I'm good at Rushing and passing and I show him I can win I feel like he'll put a lot of things in to get it going but man in Camp um I kind of been trying to show him that but you it's only 707 so it's not a whole lot I can do and I think my mindset is for training camp is to come back and be dominant and anytime I get a pass rush situation just so he can Implement that cuz at the end of the day I'm still trying to uh just trying to uh solidify myself you know nothing is being given to nobody out there right now I feel like we all trying to earn it you know we've been doing a lot of mix and match matches to see who good at where and I feel like I'm just trying to uh show everything I can do cuz I just want to be on the field you men that uh you hope to be here more than one year um how much is that on your mind that maybe if things go well uh you can get an extension at some point I think the uh it's not on my mind at all and I think that's was where I had trouble at last year you know just trying to be their guy last year rather than going out there and continuing to have fun with the game and uh making plays like I think that's where you know being a great football player come is when you out there smiling and celebrating and not really focus on the business side I feel like if you have fun the business side take care of itself and that was my first time being in a business situation and uh I don't think I handled it well I handled it more like a lawyer than I should have been just a football player and now I'm just back to being a football player and smiling every day and just letting my and just being a light around the building you know just being someone everybody can count on you know and and that's what I want to uh hold my hat on this year last one one other place de uh aside from the new scheme and the new teammates what are the ways behind the scenes that this organization is different than another place you've been um I think everybody unique uh in their own way you know and just pick it back in here uh I think a lot of the unique things about being in Philly is um it's a little more it's I don't know it's just a little more it's different you know they they they carry theirself in a professional way and I respect it uh and I love seeing how we around the building a lot in you know just being real hands on uh Mr lury he's always on the field being hands on and I think it's it's it's a family atmosphere and I can get used to that because I'm a family oriented guy and not saying where I come from wasn't like that but that's one of the main things that has stuck out here and and uh since OTAs we've been doing a lot of things to give back you know a lot of things they doing in the community I feel like they really care about the city and uh being great and that's one thing that I kind of like as well you know when we went out and painted the other day that was a good feeling to uh be here and we care about ball we're here for ball but they also want to take us to give back like Hey we're going to take a day off of ball and we going to go get in the community and we're going to take a and and I feel like that's big you know that's meaning that they care and uh obviously I care you know uh I'm invested here now um and I just want to keep it going
