The Cincinnati Bengals NEED to PAY Ja'Marr Chase

all right welcome back into the channel and welcome in for another video today I'm going to be talking to you guys about why I believe that the Cincinnati Bengals should just Fork up the money and pay Jamar chase at this point in time I understand that there's two years left on his deal the guy is holding out he's being a diva whatever you want to say about the wide receiver but at this point in time it is certainly in the Cincinnati Bengal's best interest to pay Jamar Chase I'm going to go through all the reasons for that in today's video let's talk about it now there's no question that since Jamar Chase has joined the Cincinnati Bengals this guy is absolutely produced he's had three straight 1,000 yard receiving Seasons he was on the team that made the Super Bowl run and he was a big reason for that in his breakout rookie season him and Joe burrow the connection is there and the team franchise tagging T Higgins clearly shows that chase is the receiver that they want to go forward with and pair along with Joe burrow hopefully for the duo entire career but obviously this offseason we've reached a bit of an impass as Jamar Chase is kind of sitting here and saying hey I'm going to hold in because it's time for me to get paid I'm seeing you know Justin Jefferson my LSU teammate CD lamb Aman Ross Brown AJ Brown Brandon auk Etc the list goes on of these wide receivers getting getting massive contracts and Jamar Chase says Hey I want to be that guy and I fully understand where he's coming from the difference between Jamar Chase and these other guys is he has two years left on his rookie deal he's not entering the last year that's what Justin Jefferson was doing right he was entering the last year of his rookie deal and he wanted the extension before this season understandable he actually wanted the extension before last season but the Minnesota Vikings basically said hey we can't come to an agreement we'll re-engage at the end of this season season and that is how it went so why is this different for Jamar Chase on the Cincinnati Bengals and is the difference actually warranted well here's what I will say about the Cincinnati Bengals and why some things may be not in their favor as they seem they did pay Joe burrow a year early three years into his rookie deal he got his massive extension they gave Joe burrow more than one year fully guaranteed those are things that they did not do previously but they made exceptions for Joe burrow Jamar jaas is sitting here saying I'm Joe Burrow's running mate I'm Joe Burrow's equivalent at the wide receiver position it is time for you to do those things for me that you did for Joe burrow and personally I think Jamar Chase has every right to be in that position because he's seen that this team is willing to make exceptions for an elite level player like Joe burrow who is top five at his position what's Jamar Chase in Elite level player who was produced consistently for them with and without Joe burrow on the field mind you last year Jamar Chase had 1,216 receiving yards and seven touchdowns and Joe burrow was in and out of the lineup healthy he played with Jake Browning the team because of Jamar Chase and T Higgins being on that offense were still contenders for a playoff spot with a backup quarterback so if you are Jamar chase you do have some sense of entitlement of hey man I'm an elite producer I'm top five in my position I am 24 years old I am young this is the future it's me and burrow it's you know peanut butter and jelly this is the duo why don't you make the same exceptions for me that you made for Joe burrow you made Joe burrow the highest paid quarterback in the NFL why would you not make me the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL and to the Bengals point you know I'm not just playing the Jamar Chase side of things here if you were going to pay Jamar Chase early maybe Jamar Chase should be willing to take a little bit of a pay cut maybe he doesn't need to make the what was it four years 140 million that Justin Jefferson got maybe he doesn't need the 35 million annually maybe you could talk him down to somewhere between that 30 to 32 Mark but then the questions become what is the guaranteed money now obviously this sounds like a lot but these guys have been having these conversations for probably months at this point Jamar Chase has been smartly doing the hold in because obviously if you hold in you can't be fined if you hold out on where Justin or excuse me where Jamar chase is on his rookie deal he is subject to $40,000 fines per day at this point we've be Nearing the 4 million Mark so obviously he holds in I know some people are saying the hold in is a distraction why would he do that listen the guy's not making a ton of money at this point in time on his rookie deal next year on the fifth year option is when he sees some real money I believe it's 21 million for the fifth year but right now he's making like 1 point something per year which obviously 1 point something million dollars per year is a lot of money but if you're being fine $4,000 a day things get a little dicey on how much that is really worth but I still stand on on the point of the Cincinnati Bengals should just pay up Fork up the money and pay Jamar Chase and I even put out a tweet about it you know little plug follow the boy on Twitter if you we you know instant reactions to Games videos like this Etc you love the NFL hit the sub button but here's my tweet right I really don't understand why the Bengals are wasting their time not just paying Jamar face one you're going to end up doing it anyways the team made that pretty clear with the T Higgins franchise tag letting Joe Mixon go some of the pieces go that we making money DJ arer Etc they are freeing up money for Jamar Jas and for Joe burrow two you have a game this Sunday I get it it's the Patriots you could probably win without him but do you really want to send Joe burrow out there without one of his better weapons you know now you're forcing other guys to produce and get open and if they don't more pressure could come Jo bur's way it's more more likely to be sacked without Jamar chase out there there's a lot that goes into it three your best shot at a Super Bowl your Super Bowl window is this year with Jamar Chase and T Higgins out there and Jamar Chase has been holding in you want to get this guy into playing shape as early as possible yes this week it's the Patriots and you could likely beat them without him but next week it is the Kansas City Chiefs a very big game for week two where HomeField you know could be determined by this week 2 matchup Jamar Chase historically in career has absolutely killed the Kansas City Chiefs he has bodied their defenses time and time again that's a guy you want out there for week two if you're hoping to get a big win number four Joe burrow wants it Joe bur is the franchise Joe burrow is your franchise quarterback he is the guy that you need to continue to make happy what does he want his best friend Jamar Chase his wide receiver one the guy out there with him from LSU to Cincinnati went on the Super Bowl run didn't get the job done want to get Revenge season he wants Jamar Chase out there and number five you are going to do it anyways here's my thing right we are arguing probably over a couple million dollars per season that you're going to pay him anyways and what have we seen with hold outs this offseason this summer whatever Brandon iuk in the 49ers we're not going to give him 30 million a year we're not going to give him 30 million a year you gave him 30 million a year you just waited forever to do it Trent Williams you know the 49ers again we're not going to pay him we're not going to pay him we're not going to pay him you ultimately paid him what what are you going to do you going to let Jamar Chase walk you're going to trade him yeah that'll make the franchise quarterback Joe burrow happy you have one outcome here and it is to pay this guy at some point and even if this year Jamar Chase got hurt and missed part of the Season his price is not going to go down because if he were to hit the market somebody would pay him 35 million a year and if we have seen anything in recent times look at the Cowboys they could have paid cidd lamb a while ago and probably saved themselves some money the price does not go down on Star players it is better to get the deal done get this guy on the practice field get the mindset right for the team and get things rolling for the 2024 season this is the Bengals best shot in the foreseeable future we'll see what they develop talent wise but you know 2025 and on is unknown for this team especially if you don't have Jamar Chase under contract you just have Joe burrow who is a mark with his health status at this point and T Higgins will certainly likely be gone unless you chose him over Jamar Chase but you're going to be down to one stud wide receiver some you know Germaine Burton Andre sasis you know guys that you brought up Chase brown but the weapons are certainly going to be lower than where they were you know that's how it works you pay quarterback and one wide receiver then you got to figure out and draft the rest defense isn't the highest level defense in the NFL this is the window this is the time you have to get it together as best as you can or right now if you are the Cincinnati Bengals and that means you know sucking up your pride and making the same exceptions that you made for Joe burrow or Jamar Chase and paying him early and paying him the amount that he believes he's due and really what the market says you know a 24y old wide receiver who's consistently produced yard seasons for you is a clear top five talent in the NFL that guy becomes the highest paid at his position is it a steep price tag absolutely but what have you been preparing for to pay him the Steep price tag is it early sure but you made the exception before you set the tone you didn't make Joe burrow wait and Jamar Chase now he doesn't want to wait and I understand it and if the Bengals go the route of not paying Jamar chase the guy could hold out up to halfway throughout the season before it you know doesn't count as a contract year I believe you the NFL rules are a little unclear on this I did a lot of research trying to find it technically it says you have to pay play six games for it to count towards contract year but a lot of people say that it's eight games that way you can factor in in case missing some sometimes so you know somewhere close to a third to a half of the Year Jamar Chase could miss in the first you know six games you play the Chiefs and you play the Ravens once those are big games that you need them out there for and you play some winnable teams you know the Patriots the commanders the Panthers teams that you believe the Bengals could beat without Jamar Chase but those games can get a lot dicer if he's not involved and you know T Higgins is getting double teams and you're looking for production somewhere else it it could get dicey is all I'm saying the Bengals would be best served to pay Jamar Chase hopefully by the time you see this video they did pay him but I'm getting a little worried it could be a big mistake for the Cincinnati Bengals to not pay this guy I get it it's swallowing your pride I get it it's a wide receiver making demands cuz he's a diva whatever you want to say it is but Jamar Chase deserves to get paid but as always guys those are just my thoughts be sure to let
