Intro BREAKING NEWS COVERAGE OF A NEW FIRE THAT HAS STARTED IN PLACER COUNTY. TONI: THE BRIDGE FIRE STAEDRT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, UNDER THE FORESTHILL BRIDGE NEAR AUBURN. SO FAR, THIS FIRE HAS BURNED 300 ACRES. IT IS 5% CONTAIN.ED TY: THIS MATH -- THIS MAP SHOWS YOU ABOUT 500 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN EVACUATED BECAUSE OF THE BRIDGE FIRE. THIS IS THE CURRENT EVACUATION MAP FOR PLACER COUNTY. THE AREA IN RED IS UNDER AN EVACUATION ORDER. AND THE YELLOW AREAS ARE UNDER WARNINGS. WE HAVE A CREW ON THE GROUND IN PLACER COUNTY NEAR AUBURN WITH A CLEROS LOOK AT THE BRIDGE FIRE. TONI: LET'S GET TO KCRA 3'S ERIN Bridge Fire Update HEFT WITH WHAT SHE'S SEEING THERE. ERIN: WE JUST GOT OUT OF A BRIEFING AND THEY WERE TELLING US IT GREW TO 300 ACRES OVERNIGHT, BUT THEY GAINED 5% CONTAINMENT ON IT FROM DOZERS JUST LIKE THIS, CREWS REALLY HITTING THE BRIDGE FIRE HARD. THEY SAID THEY WENT TO KEEP THE FIRE NORTH OF THE AMERICAN RIVER. LOW HUMIDITY AND THE WINDS WILL MAKE THIS FIRE FIGHT A DIFFICULT ONE. THE GOAL IS TO STRENGTHEN THE FIRE LINES, MOPPING UP 100 FEET WITHIN THE LINES, THE FIRE RAN UP TO THE EAST OVERNIGHT, AND CHOPPERS HITTING THE SKY PAID EVACUATIONS ARE ANTICIPATED TO STAY IN PLACE THIS MORNING AND THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. THIS GREW TO 300 ACRES OVERNIGHT, AND IS AT 5% Firefighter Safety CONTAINMENT, WHEN WE SPOKE TO CAL FIRE, THIS IS WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY. >> IT IS UNFORGIVING TERRAIN COME ON THE SECOND DAY SUPPLIERS LIKE THIS IS WHEN YOU SEE TREES GIVEAWAY AND F FIREFIGHTER INJURIES. TY: THANK YOU. FORTUNATELY THE WINDS ARE VERY MODERATE. EILE:EN LIGHT TO MODERATE, AND FAIRLY PREDICTABLE HEARD THAT IS WAYSAL WORKING WORKING FOR THE EFFORTS CERTAINLY. NOW TOHE T MAP, HERE IS THE AUBURN AIRPORT AND HERE IS THE DOWNTOWN AREA. THEER IS APPLEGATE. WHAT THE WINDS WILL DO INSTEAD OF COMINDOWNG SLOPE MIDMORNING, THEY WILL START TO SWITCH OUT OF THE WEST NORTHWEST AT ABOUT SIX MILES AN HOUR THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. NOT TOO STRONG BUT EYTH CERTAINLY WILL SWITCH DIRECTIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. THEY WILL GO BACK IN THAT EASTERLY DIRECTION THIS EVENING, LIKELY AFTER SUNSET, AGAIN THAT BREEZE COMING OUT OF THE EAST AT ABOUT 5-10 MILES AN HOUR. TH HEUMIDITY WILL BE LOW AND THE HEAT WILL BE ON AS TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE UPPER 90'S. THIS IS THE SUNLIGHT PERSPECVETI . A LOT OF MURKY CONDITIONS IN THE VALUE.
