DodgerHeads Live: Freddie Freeman returns in potential NLCS preview with Phillies; Cavan Biggio DFA

e won M [Applause] magic Dodgers have won at all High Fly ball into right field she is gone he Str him out two balls at a strike the count on Taylor Reyes fires swinging a drive deep left down this [Music] is Tay hi everyone and welcome into a special live Dodger heads pregame show presented by Dodger blue.com my name is Matthew mireno and joining me it's Daniel sarin and I know we uh we do a ton of postgame content for everybody throughout the week uh so Daniel and I thought we'd switch it up a little bit again if you missed I think was it two or three weeks ago we did a pregame show similar to this uh Daniel it was an ugly road trip for the Dodgers but they ended it on a positive note with back-to-back wins against the A's and now here we are another big series with the Phillies yeah yeah it's first of all good to be back home good to be uh back on the pregame I think we did it last week and and I think they they won uh the night we did do it they did um but but yeah like you said they they kind of Salvage the road trip there in in Oakland um you know the the key right now obviously you know you got a couple hot teams in the NL West trying to chase them down so you're just trying to like stay afloat until you get Freddy who we'll get into he's back tonight that's great to see on many accounts obviously um but until you start to get some of these other guys back mooki is is making progress as well so um but but yeah Big series with the Phillies starting tonight um you know measuring stick series as as they like to call it um obviously it's still August but but yeah good to be home and and uh let's get into it yeah we want to thank all of you joining us live on Facebook YouTube and Twitter as a reminder if you are on YouTube please be sure to hit the like button on this video subscribe to the channel ring the not notification bell all that good stuff if you're not if you're listening on Facebook and Twitter we appreciate you guys check us out on YouTube after the fact we have a ton of content that we put up each day throughout the week uh our plan for tonight's show kind of like the last pregame uh episode Daniel I did is we're going to take you pretty much right up to first pitch that should leave some time for some questions at the end uh we do have some planned topics for tonight if you do have a super chat if there's something you want us to address uh then definitely be sure to go that route uh but Daniel you hit on it obviously the big news uh for tonight is that Freddy Freeman is back and more than just his return to the lineup obviously is that his son Max is doing well now all things considered yeah yeah absolutely and and when something like that happens I mean I I don't have kids personally but I I totally understand like that just puts everything into perspective like you know obviously baseball is we all love baseball we all want the Dodgers to win and and such but you know there are things that are more important important than that and um it's great to see that his son um you know is home now and making progress um still a long road to go um and good to see Freddy back on the field as well you know you hopefully that um you know helps put him in a better mental space obviously he's been dealing with a lot and um you know we'll we'll kind of see how it goes but I I'm really happy for their family it's been um a tough couple weeks but it's good to see um you know him making progress yeah tell had been uh Freddy Freeman's wife Chelsea had been sharing different updates kind of throughout the past week maybe 10 days or so of you know different things that were going on and you could see uh little progress steps being made and that was certainly encouraging but like you said you know there was no expectation for uh when Freddy would be back I know Dave Roberts did say during the weekend that this series was a potential uh return date for him and so one thing that Freeman did say during his uh pregame interview and if you missed it definitely check it out Sports LA has the entire thing up on their website so I think like a half hour long uh he was understandably emotional in it but he said he's comfortable returning because of how well Max is doing with the the caveat and understanding like you said there is unfortunately a long road ahead but doctors have said that he will make a full recovery so that's great news for Max I think Freddy said you know he's still one his personality has started to come back already so he's looking you know a little bit more like himself uh so that's obviously all outstanding news and on the baseball side uh Freeman is back after missing the last eight games seven of those were on the family emergency list if you recall he left the Dodgers kind of an hour a couple hours before first pitch against their against the Astros that was the first game of their road trip uh because of the timing of everything the Dodgers didn't have a chance to make a roster move that night they ended up uh calling up recalling Hunter feducia the next day from Oklahoma City uh again just kind of baseball stuff Freeman is f one double away from 500 in his career uh he would be the only active player to reach that Milestone the 66th overall in MLB history I'm going to call my shot I think it happens tonight uh Daniel when do you think Freeman gets number 500 yeah I think I agree with you um he kind of has a flare for the dramatic like that and I don't want to compare it to when he returned to Atlanta but that was also also um an emotional series for him and he actually performed wi really well at the plate um he's just a great hitter you know even if he's been away or whatever so I would not bet against him hitting a double and um those might be the loudest you know Freddy chance that that he's heard if that does happen or even probably when he steps to the plate hopefully because um you know him just even playing tonight is is um you know not something any of us expected or you know necessarily he should have done but he he's choosing to do that and obviously we love having him out there so should be uh cool to see him back in that box at uh daughter Stadium yeah I think if he does hit the double I agree with you the chance are going to are going to be very loud and that's saying a lot cuz he's had a couple big hits at Dodger Stadium I think the first time he played the Braves was at Dodger Stadium and he hit like a couch double like in the seventh or eighth inning or something and the stadium was going crazy uh here Craig is predicting two extra base hits for Freeman tonight wouldn't doubt it I mean I I almost I almost even predicted that he would do it in his first atep bat but you you know me I'm not a betting man so I'm just gonna I'm gonna play it uh comfortably and safe and say I think he just does it tonight uh the other shoe to ort of drop with Freeman coming back is uh Kavin bigio was DF and that was you know to make room for Freeman back to get him back on the 40-man roster and the active roster just kind of one Fell Swoop uh Dodgers addressed it but we know that there's a roster crunch coming with you know mooki Muny roas Edmund once they all get healthy but did this move surprise you a little bit because there were some other ways that Dodgers could have gone about this yeah I mean I I guess at first glance like it was surprising just because um he has actually been playing like a little better recently um and I know most of his time was coming at first base so Freddy is is going to take that back but um but but yeah I I guess I was surprised at first but but like you said like um there is a roster crunch coming and I don't like we've talked through different iterations of the playoff roster and I don't think too many of them really included Cavin bigio so um with that being the case like you knew this was going to happen at some point um and there are other candidates on the roster like you said like they could send James outman down um but then they'd have to clear up the 40 Man space and they got some relievers who are coming back as well so they're going to need 40 Man space um Nick Ahmed who's in the starting lineup tonight um I guess he he might be next Once uh Miguel Roos comes back sometime this week um but but yeah I mean with all the guys they acquired at the deadline like there's only so many spots to go around and I just don't think um Cavin was you know in their playoff so while I was surprised that it happened now like it was going to happen at some point yeah I agree with you and I think uh look like you mentioned kin like he hasn't exactly torn the cover off the ball since since he was claimed I think the Dodgers claimed him off waiver is it right is what it was if I remembering back uh what probably about a month ago maybe longer than that now uh honestly I had felt like he had turned a corner the last eight games that Freeman was out like you said he was filling in at first base I think defensively he played it much better than I thought I thought they were basically which they might have just you know thrown him into the fire and said you know good luck but he he held up well uh I also thought that he hit well at the plate but then before we hopped on and I was kind of putting stuff together I looked at his stats in the last eight games and let's just say they did not match the eye test at all this was like my eye test let me down 100% And so stack guy Matt over here huh yeah like the the conclusion that I came to was what I remember was bigio had some clutch hits when they were in Houston I think maybe one early in the game against the Padres when they took a crazy lead and then ended up losing uh but yeah I thought that was that was uh just kind of funny like I was with you like I thought okay like this is kind of surprising like I I thought honestly he hit maybe 275 type thing and it was below 200 oh yeah I guess I guess like you said he just did have a couple timely hits that we remembered and we were just kind of used to him not really doing anything so those timely hits like felt like a lot more than they were um but with you know with Rosario km all these guys now like um if if he wasn't playing first base like he wasn't really gonna get any playing time anywhere else realistically right now yeah so uh yeah I mean it's the first like we said first sort of shoe to drop at this point there's there's many more coming um Muki could be back within the next week to 10 days Miguel Roa says he's ready I think Dave Roberts said he might be back this week this homeand uh the Dodgers just as we're doing this they just activated bruar graterol off the injured list and here let me see uh oh well Blake Tran is now on the injured list with left hip discomfort give him a couple weeks off yeah yeah a little a little bit of a little bit of give and take there I know Blake trinon had been struggling a bit recently um he did Pitch well I mean he went back-to-back days against the A's this weekend so maybe you know kind of he's he's a veteran so maybe his hip started flared up after that and like being realistic he he didn't pitch any of the last two seasons so you know um he could probably just use like a a little break here so he's not like overworked by the time you know October rolls around they might like once in in two weeks when Tran's ready to come back they might do the same thing with Daniel Hudson or something like um you know they have a lot you know Brian brazer is going to be back soon as well Michael Grove like there's they're going to be able to do this with some guys and most of them are old so they are dealing with hip discomfort or whatever you want to call it so you know they won't get in trouble for that but um I think you know we we all kind of see what it is yeah uh before we continue with tonight's show and getting into kind of a preview of the series I want to pause really quick to give uh our sponsor soare MLB a shout out you heard us talking about them in the past and there they had a big uh promotion for the All-Star game now August is here they're still going strong they have competitions that run Monday through Thursday and Friday through Sunday it's free to play you can sign up in the link in the description of this video uh you get a draft a team you can keep those players for however long you want or if you're an aggressive GM and you want to move some guys you can trade them uh there's no trade deadline so that's the that's one beauty of it uh Blake and Scott excuse me Blake and Jeff are pretty active here I know BL uh Jeff has sh Otani so that's probably not a he's going to be training uh anytime soon so definitely be sure to check out the link in our description if you're interested again it's free to play free to sign up and you can win uh some pretty cool prizes all right let's uh let's keep going so we touched on it obviously everybody knows that this is the start of a a home stand that begins with a three-game series against the Phillies uh last time the Dodgers played the Phillies it was during the final week leading up to the all-star break it was build as you know a potential NLCS preview a showdown the top two teams in the National League all that stuff and it wound up being pretty one-sided the Phillies swept the series outscored the Dodgers 19 to five in those three games uh Daniels there any sort of Revenge maybe not so much on the Dodgers mind but on your mind um I mean look you you always want to win these type of serieses like it makes you even though it doesn't really matter if we're being honest like it makes you feel more comfortable going into like a potential playoff matchup if they shown like hey we could you know we could play with these guys um you know the Phillies they don't they haven't won a championship over you know this this current iteration of them the last few years but they have um you know made it to the World Series and the NLCS so they've shown that they could play in October and and right now they're you know fighting for the top record in the NL so realistically they're they're gonna have you know it's the favorite matchup for the NLCS so you do want to you know show you're at home um um but but at the end of the day the Dodgers are still missing some key pieces here like um like you know that Series in Philadelphia I remember you know Bryce Harper and Kyle schwarber I think were activated you know off the aisle on that um you know the day of that series um so you know the Dodgers don't haven't had mooki or or Max mzy for any of any of these games here um so you do take that into account but but with that being said you got Tyler glass now on the mound tonight you got Freddy Freeman back like that's a great chance to to win the opener and then kind of you know go from there and try to win the series yeah so I mean look as poorly as the Dodgers have sort of played recently uh you know they went two and five on their Road Trip the Phillies themselves just snapped a six-game losing streak and they're only two and eight in their last 10 games so they still do have the best record in the National League but that's down to one and a half games over the Dodgers so this series could easily flip like depending on obviously how the games go the Dodgers could suddenly find themselves back in not well I guess it's been a while I don't know have they actually been in first place in I have to double check that but maybe like very early onuh not cuz yeah not in a while if they have so yeah if if they have then here's a chance to you know get back into the number one seed in the postseason uh for postseason bracket type thing if you want to look ahead which I know some people sort of have uh yeah I mean it'll interesting to see you know the Phillies obviously are dangerous team even if they're sort of struggling I think they are they strike me as a type of team too that does get up for a matchup like this even though the Dodgers maybe aren't the full you know fully stocked team that we expect them to be they weren't last month when they played the Phillies either they're more so now than they were over the past week because Freddy Freeman as we if you guys missed at the beginning of our show he is back here BC is uh throwing out the brooms he's not saying for who though so yeah this could end up going either way uh Governor's bases yeah but yeah I mean it's it'll be uh it'll be interesting to see what happens um pitching matchups Tyler glass now and Aaron Nola tonight so that should be you know a great great matchup then Clayton C and Christopher Sanchez on Tuesday Gavin Stone and Tyler Phillips in the finale the interesting thing with stone is he's starting on regular resting we've seen some regression with him recently uh you and I haven't necessarily we haven't really discussed Gavin Stone just because the way our schedules have worked out with our live shows and all that but are you concerned with kind of the slide he's on right now um I mean yeah a little bit just because like it's not like he's he's a he's a young rookie it's not like he has like 200 inning Seasons under his belt and he's been the only guy to this point that has stayed healthy all season and and made every start so um you definitely think like fatigue could could be playing a factor in his his recent struggles like I mean he's he's never been a guy with overpowering stuff um and you know when when that's the case if you're not as sharp or even if you know you lose a tick um you know you're G to get hit so um I I I was a little surprised like I I would have thought they'd maybe give him a couple extra days as opposed to you know um starting him on regular rest which as far as the Dodgers are concerned like that's short rest you know they don't really do that with with too many guys so um you know they have they just optioned um roesy and Landon Knack like they could have easily gone with a six-man rotation right now but um you know that I guess that's a sign that that Gavin at least physically like is feeling good but um throwing him up there against the Phillies um you know we we'll see how that goes yeah it's like a it's a go get them kid moment you're kind of struggling go find go find it against these uh these all star I mean look the Phillies had what eight or nine Allstars this year I know it was the most uh among all teams so certainly plenty of talent there uh all right I think we'll open it up to questions now for the next 10 15 minutes and if you guys have a lot of them Daniel not like I said we're ready to keep going until 710 so we're we're happy to do that if we end a little early then no problem with that at all just remember to please start it with the word question in all cap so that we can pick it out uh Daniel as those are kind of trickling in let's tell people uh what Lakers nation has been doing and covering the Olympics and Team USA and all that well yeah I mean I'm sure as everyone else I've been locked into the Olympics but um specifically the basb the basketball um you know LeBron and AD have been like two of the key players for for Team USA and um they're they're starting The Knockout rounds is what they call it starts tomorrow um so it's the quarter finals against Brazil and for any Laker fans out there um playing for Brazil is Marcelo Hues the Catalyst he played for the Lakers probably like almost a decade ago at this point um he's 41 years old he's the oldest player in the whole tournament him and LeBron are the two oldest so they'll be squaring off tomorrow in in the quarterfinals um so we've been covering that um and then also the Lakers just you know officially announced their coaching staff today so we we covered that as well um but yeah I mean we we'll see um if they could bring home the gold and um you know I've been watching the other Olympic events as well so um it's been it's been a fun time yeah well LeBron said he wasn't impressed with the uh the French team the other day so that was I mean I look I can understand the sentiment but I thought it was kind of an interesting choice of words for him to sort of put that bulletin board matal out there yeah I wonder if that has anything to do with Rudy Gober it seems like he's always uh catching some some some Strays from from NBA stars yeah all right let's get into uh questions noisy ninja 91 wants to know if there's going to be another live stream after the game tonight we do not have one planned uh if I don't know perfect game no hitter that type of thing I think we'll we'll be able to throw something together pretty quickly but this is it for tonight we will have uh some videos up tomorrow morning as well and then Jeff and Anthony will be doing a live stream after Tuesday's game and then I think I'll be on with Jeff Wednesday and we'll be back into kind of usual postgame live streams schedule uh Larry says has bigio played enough to receive a ring if the Dodgers win the World Series I think so I mean this is you like players will vote on this stuff I think he was around long enough that they'll give him one what do you think yeah I don't know I don't know what the rule is technically but I remember um Ross strippling got one in 2020 when they had traded him away at the deadline and that was a shorten season so he couldn't have pitched like that many games uh that year so I I I think he'll get one Laura longtime uh supporter of our show she wants to know what's the prediction for the series um I I I think the Dodgers will win the series um I think it starts tonight um you got glass now on the mound um you know that should be a game that you know you you're winning especially against hopefully like you know the Phillies bats are going to get going at some point but hopefully you could at least keep them cold like for the first game get the win and then find a way to win one of the last two so I'll say the Dodgers take two out of three yeah I agree and I think they lose tonight and then I think they win the next two uh gii wants to know with the guys coming back from the IL who stays and who goes once graterol Grove and braer come back vessia is the only one in the bullpen with an option so it's Honeywell and who else uh yeah so GI if you just missed it as we were doing this bruar graterol was activated uh what five minutes ago 10 minutes ago now Blake tranon was placed on the 15-day iil with uh what was it hip inflammation is that what I it was hip something yeah hip tightness here let me double check it for you guys it was left hip discomfort so as much as that yes like optioning guys to the miners is a is a possibility DFA players is a possibility so too is the injured list and we if we've learned anything this year it's that the Dodgers can't necessarily stay healthy uh here aonic wants to know can Kershaw get five innings tomorrow not so sure myself um I think he will I think when when everybody is fully out on Kershaw when they're saying you know kicking dirt all over him that's when he tends to kind of put a game together that you weren't expecting so I think he gets pretty much through five tomorrow and that's it I like it I I say um Dave Roberts has enjoyed pulling guys with two outs lately so say four I'll say four and two3 but he limits the damage a little bit and and leaves with a couple guy on a couple guys on base and someone whoever comes in and gets out of it Roger says shoh has struck out a fair amount lately do you think he's been pitched differently by teams now uh I honestly haven't had a chance to really like dive into the pitch sequencing and stuff like that too much to me I feel like this is more of Otani just kind of going through I don't know if a is the right word but a phase where he kind of presses and expands the strike zone a lot I think maybe some of it could be he was looking at the lineup and maybe feeling like some urgency to really carry them because I mean let's be honest like it's been it's been Bleak for uh a decent stretch now even when Freddy Freeman was around before he had to leave to be with his family uh but Daniel is there anything in particularly that's stuck out with you no I I I think you said it pretty well like I do think we've seen from showy this season when it's like a big situation he does tend to just kind of swing at wherever the pitch is like um so so yeah like you said like especially now with so many guys out of the lineup like he knows that he kind of has to you know carry carry them a little bit so when it's when he's up in a big spot he might you know he might be prone to chase a little more but um at the end of the day like in a week a week from now he could be the hottest hitter on the planet again like that's just kind of how it goes over the course of a you know 162 Game season yeah definitely uh here let's get back to some Olympic top really quick Hawai Kira wants to know what's your favorite sport other than basketball to watch from the Olympics I've been watching all of them but um I I like the gymnastics and the swimming that's kind of like you know what they show uh the most I've been enjoying those um and they just kind of started the track and field so those are kind of like the main ones and those those are the ones I watch but I have like the the volleyball both um indoor and uh V beach volleyball um beach volleyball is the one that's being played right by the Eiffel Tower right yeah yeah it's it's actually a really cool like um setup that they have there I'll be I'll be curious to see like where they do that um in La like if they actually do it like on the beach somewhere or if like they they make an arena or whatever yeah I feel like they'll probably just put them on the beach I mean they have a ton there's a ton of options to choose from in Southern California there's no no shortage there uh all right let's see we can get back to some baseball stuff h k thank you for that and as a reminder like Daniel and I are happy to answer uh baseball questions Olympics at this point food obviously if you guys have been with us you know that we're always willing to dive into that uh let's see here Joseph your rebay uh we'll need clarification if there's relation to Juan Ur rebay Joseph he says what are your expectations of copc the closer role and the returning injured players let kind of a three-part question let's focus on copc right now yeah first two appearances so far have been great uh yeah is there is is the figure I know I don't know if it was Dave Roberts specifically or maybe Brandon gome said something to effect that copc had kind of figured some stuff out right before the trade uh do you see that or have the Dodgers maybe helped him like is it's kind of a match made in heaven yeah I mean first of all the stuff is electric like that's the first thing you see when you watch him so if he could just kind of figure out where it's going like he's going to be a a really tough guy to hit um but I I don't necessar like I don't I think this kind of this Bullpen has gotten away from like rolls and having a set closer like we kind of saw that um over the weekend where like um you know they kind of I think it was like Phillips in like the fifth or the sixth and then um tryan after that then Hudson and then bond is the one who ends up getting the save like they're going to try to put their best guys against the middle of the order um and play the matchups such so I think copc is is going to be involved in that mix somehow and he's definitely um got the stuff to be a closer like if that's what they need like if they need him for the ninth um that's the type of guy you want there um and we've seen the Dodgers like do this with relievers plenty of times like with far lesser stuff than what copc is throwing out there like he's You could argue he's got some of the best stuff that they've had in their bullpen in in a while so um obviously it's a Ben a short sample so far only like two or three outings whatever it's been but um you know if he could keep that up that's definitely a great option to have come come October yeah and Joseph does clarify for us that he's unfortunat unfortunately not related to one your rebay uh so back to his question yeah I think I don't necessarily see Copic going into a closer role I don't know if the do I think I mean I guess if he finishes the rest of the season and his walk issues are fully eliminated and he's striking guys out the way has been then sure but short of that like I think they'll just go as much as like you said they like the flexibility I think they'll rely on the familiarity of knowing Daniel Hudson bruar gradal now that he's back maybe putting him in that position I think Evan Phillips who did say you know after his appearance against the A's getting uh that was a big strikeout against Brent Rooker with the bases loaded yeah to really bail out the Dodgers uh after that game he said he kind of figured some things out and now it's just you know sort of continuing with that stuff and executing the plan uh my guess is if he gets back to form which whether you want him as the closer or not the Dodgers do need Evan Phillips to be pitching well if they're going to win a World Series uh so my my belief is if he gets back to that that he'll end up being kind of uh back in his closer role as the primary closer I guess maybe is the best way to put it and then they'll figure out how they rotate uh guys kind of in and out of there and just to kind of uh add on to that like we've seen in October like the Dodgers sometimes are lucky if they get three or four Innings like out of their starters so there might be a big spot in the fourth or fifth inning where you could go to copc because you got three or four other guys that you trust to come in after him so just having that weapon like no matter what inning it is is is definitely good to have yeah definitely uh knots haunt Talent says does mooki lead off me personally you don't put Bonds on lead off I'm assuming he's referencing maybe Otani shouldn't be leading off that that would be my guess is the bonds comp there um I get my assumption is mooki is going to be leading off I don't Daniel do you you in that same boat um that that I mean Muki has always you know said he doesn't care but I think we all know he's most comfortable in the leadoff spot so I think initially they they probably will go back to that and kind of see how that works um but they also do like you know Dave Roberts loves the Lefty righty Lefty righty Lefty righty so um if you and like we've seen at some at some points of the Season where um you know teams go to like a a lefty you know when when Freeman and Otani were backto back second and third um they might have I guess if they're first and third it doesn't make like have make that big of a difference because you know the three battle rule they would still face both of them but we've seen them go to like openers and such so um you know they might try to split them up but I I still think um no matter what order like those top three guys are in like they're they're going to do damage so I I don't think it matters all that much it is fun to talk about and kind of Envision what they're going to do um but I always just default to to Muki being lead off yeah I agree but to your point the left right left right thing or right left right left however it works out that is Freeman's back tonight he's hitting third uh teoscar Hernandez is sandwich in between OT I actually didn't mean to point that out because previously um even when Lux was third or what they had Smith second and teoscar fourth so they already kind of made that switch I don't even I guess maybe that's to get will going because he's been struggling a little like you know putting back in the fourth spot um and teoscar is coming off a great Series in Oakland so you get him more at bats batting second but um I guess Dave has shown a willingness to you know make changes if he has to yeah uh Laura wants to know when is Monty expected back I think we're still probably at least a couple weeks out from that Dave did say that he would need a rehab assignment so and that may not start until this weekend uh so yeah still still a little bit of time look I think we just all need to be grateful that Muny found a chiropractor that was able to work some serious Magic on him and uh cure whatever the heck was going on uh here Sam is asking any news on why Tran was placed on the 15-day iil it was left hip left hip discomfort is the official word on trin's I stint uh GI says is there a scenario where km stays on the roster once all of the guys come back healthy and then he has a fingers crossed Emoji so I'm assuming he's Pro Kier me in this scenario uh look I know Kier Meer brings tremendous defensive presence out in center field and I I'm somebody who values defense probably more than the average person that being said I'm not sure like it could get kind of tough if the rers need to make some roster decisions to continue to carry him and it's a small sample size but he doesn't have a hit yet since joining the team obviously it was just over the weekend uh but do you see a scenario where he's kept around well I I I think there's a scenario just because there could be so many injuries but I I I would what I was goingon to say is that I I don't think it's like a lock by any means like if they would have given up a prospect to acquire him then I would be like all right yeah like they're kind of committed to him um but the fact that they traded uh Ryan yarboro who they had just DFA like a day or two before shows like they basically they didn't give up anything to get him so they just kind of said yeah we'll take him we'll see how it goes like he could fill in while while guys are injured or whatever and if he does well great um he's a he's a great defender we all know that he you know he could um run the bases if he has to he just hasn't really SW you know swung the bat well um but but I mean we gota wait and see who's healthy like saying like just assuming that every single guy is going to be healthy um is is that's not always how it works works out let's just say that um um but I do think like if if they get back you know Muki Roos Muny um you could even add Chris Taylor to that list although he obviously hasn't had the best year to this point but like if all those guys are healthy they're probably all ahead of him um so so it's definitely not a lock yeah uh so to GI was following up saying he was not pro Kier Meer he's his fingers are crossed for all the guys coming back healthy so yeah I mean look km's already been DFA and cleared waivers once so the Dodgers could just run the chance that if they DFA him again he'll clear waivers again and then they could bring him back keep him in the organization and then maybe figure it out for the postseason because then at that point like it wouldn't fully shock me if he makes a playoff roster for defensive purposes depending on maybe how pz finishes the season and stuff like that they would probably just like throw him on the iil like if they had to if they needed a a roster spot or whatever yeah uh Aaron vau uh getting somebody for Ryan Yo's news to him Aaron you got to read there's this website Dodger blue.com I hear that they cover stuff in depth every day everything you need to know is there uh but yes in all seriousness they did trade yarro to the Blue Jays for km and so that's how they just got back the hitting version of of yarboro in return yeah uh here Malcolm wants to know if the lineup comes back completely healthy does Lux go back to hitting ninth I would imagine so uh and I thought that that was a good spot for him assuming that you know if he's hitting well he might be hitting too good at this point compared to some of the other players that they're not going to drop him down that low um so yeah I mean I guess it'll it would depend on where everybody is at like it it's I'm hesitant to assume full health at this point just because we've seen it go wrong extremely in the like the pendulum has been so extreme in the other direction last season and now this year that it's tough to uh say that yes you know when healthy but do you see scenario where maybe Lux is hitting ninth or do you think he's elevated himself higher in the lineup if if like if everyone's healthy so now like Tay Oscar's fifth M's sixth like Lux is probably the next best hitter the way he's been going or if he's anywhere close to that so he you know he might be seventh or eighth or ninth but at that point like honestly you might like him ninth um you kind of like having that speed guy you know a guy with speed getting on that could get on base um but they also if Tommy Edmond comes back he's another great you know fits that profile of a nine hitter um Amed Rosario has some speed as well like he if he's in the lineup he' be you know he might be bat ninth um so I don't think it matters all that much I would say it's just good that those are the options being considered there as opposed to you know Lux who's been hitting third for the last week um you know it's there's there's going to be a lot more length in that lineup once these guys come back yeah definitely all right we'll answer a couple more here uh noisy ninja 91 has another one for us says if baseball is in the Olympics in 2028 how will players be able to participate if at all so this is sort of a kind of an ongoing early conversation that Rob Manfred is having with some uh Olympic organizers I know Bryce Harper has come out and said he wants to play I Believe Otani has expressed interest in wanting to participate as well I mean I think ultimately what it's going to come down to is if MLB and the teams the owners if you will uh are just going to allow their players to participate because then if they do I imagine there's going to be similar to what we saw uh with the World Baseball Classic where the players leave spring training for a brief period to go into like a mini camp and then you know they start playing in the Olympics and as we're seeing with the basketball team like that could take you away from your MLB team for two weeks three weeks type thing so that'll be interesting to see how it shakes out do you feel strongly one way or the other um I it's it's it's rough like the timing just because obviously I would love to see all the all the top guys like playing in the Olympics but when it's in the middle of the MLB season um it's just hard to figure it out like logistically like I know like the WNBA is in the middle of the season right now and they just did like a basically a one month All-Star break where they just you know everyone has it off except you know the girls that are playing in the Olympics so you could do that but I don't know how you know that pushes like the World Series a month back and now you're into late like November in theory or whatever and like weatherwise I don't know if that's you know GNA work so I I just don't see how it can work it would be cool especially since it's in La like if they're playing those games at Dodgers Stadium um you know that'd be really fun to go to but I just don't see how it could work in the past when they used to have baseball it was mainly like college players or maybe some minor league players but there wasn't any like MLB guys in it yeah I think I wonder if it if it will just boil down to MLB saying hey like you know we kind of put all our chips in the World Baseball Classic and that that is extremely popular when it happens and yeah I know I was a little bit more of a casual fan than some others but it was I think they set a bunch of TV ratings and stuff this year so I could definitely see a scenario where they just say look like sorry but you know it just doesn't really work out maybe they do like you said maybe they make uh prospects minor league players available and then you could get you know guys are dou a triaa who are known in the baseball industry get a chance to play and that kind of is D rushing would be you know playing Left Field or something for Team USA yeah and then and then for the Dodgers that could be a scouting opportunity like okay he handled that well he can he can do for us all right uh we'll answer one or two more here looks like we'll go off topic with this one atic wants to know favorite brand of ice cream which is a good question because it's been very hot in Southern California for a while now obviously with it being summer uh so Daniel do you have a favorite brand or favorite flavor um I I would say flavor um you know like cookies and cream or cookie dough are both my my two favorites I also like like um like sherbets or sorbet um I don't know if I have like a favorite brand though like growing up we always used to go to Baskin Robins um 31 Flavors but um I don't know like all the brands are good like it's not like if I'm like in the grocery store I go to like one specific spe ific like I go for the I go for the flavor more so than the the brand I'm going to go uh and I think I've talked about this before Joel Alman fudge from Basin Robbins is my favorite like flavor and also brand like if other brands have made like a jamoka almond fudge comparable uh I don't care for it so if I like if it needs to be for me like it needs to be the Basin Robbins one or I'm just not gonna try it uh I do like uh rainbow sherbet pistachio like those stuff and when if it's that then I'm not as like no it needs to be a specific brand but yeah if it's uh if it's Joel and fudge then it has to be from Baskin Robbins or I'm just saying thanks but no thanks I think um mint chocolate chip is the only like ice cream that I like won't eat like yeah I don't care not really a mint guy like tastes like toothpaste to me I've talked about that with with Jeff before but um other than that like any ice cream I'll I'll dabble in yeah I don't like I'm not a huge mint person but I do like the uh the Andes Candies like their half mint half chocolate that they have at restaurants a lot of times okay yeah those are those are pretty good I think I got the name right I'm sure somebody will correct me if not all right I'm not seeing any more [Music] questions you guys have a couple more we could take them oh well actually no let's just it's 7:06 I didn't realize what time it was while here people are saying drify is tremendous Lord chocolate brownie from Thrifty hne Cous I used to I used to there used to be a Right Aid where I used to go get Thrifty ice cream ice cream from but it it closed down like a year or two ago so haven't really been able to get thrifties since then yeah they're few and few and far between but when you find one there's a righty not too far for me actually but I haven't gone like occasion I mean I went a while ago like I remembered that they had it and I thought oh like a Thrifty Ice Cream does sound good yeah all right well now that we've discussed every everything from baseball to ice cream and it it is like it is warm so you guys can go get some for tonight's game uh we'll end the stream there we want to thank everybody for joining Daniel and I uh like I said
