welcome to Huntsville Texas an Elliot T Bowers Stadium home to the Bearcats of Sam Houston State who have built a rich winning Legacy and one that they hope follows them to the upper reaches of college football in this one two teams from Conference USA squaring off in a week day class to set the table for the weekend ahead as we'll see the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs taking on the fourth rank team of the land the Sam Houston Bearcats for EA Sports college football I'm Rees d [Applause] now they'll run the draw at the 35 he's loose to the 43 yd line and a first down for this offense big chunk play to start this drive now they'll really try to take it to this [Applause] defense pulls and fires it complete to the right and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up on second down will they go back to the ground game he's looking to throw coming after it and the defense gets to the quarterback nice coverage on the back in great job nothing open right away the QB holds the ball in the pocket and the pass rush finally gets home sometimes it's the DBS doing great work sometimes at the defensive line win an up front and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down you got to love that on defense one of the [Applause] from the gun they'll try to impose their running game just W his way for a couple out to the 35 know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered up going to pass on second down incompleted man is he lucky to get that one back defense that close to an interception a third and long coming up here from the gun wants to pass he's going to let one fly down the middle and he reels it in inside the 30 and he eluded the defense and he'll take it all the way touchdown Beats you know often times in college football the best offenses are the ones that can create explosive plays just like you saw right there they're top 10 in the nation in points per game because they don't have to drive the field they've got dudes scattered all over this offense that can take it the distance on any given play trying to start the drive with a pass on the move he fires got a wide open receiver running toward the tap he's at the 10 touchdown beats and once he found open space the band might as well start playing well this offense is top 10 in the country in points per game because they've got a lot of speed and they've got home run hitters they score fast they don't need 10 plays to go down the field you saw it right there they've recruited well they've got Playmakers they're going to be a problem for defenses all year long [Applause] [Applause] from the gun running back on the move not a whole lot of room to run let's give him a couple well they going RPO nice job handing it off and really good Vision there just getting what he can get right puts his foot in the ground gets forward helps this offense find positive yards solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six looking for a physical attack from the gun open space of the 25 smashes through the tackle a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he has the first down and that's excellent blocking there on the left side of the line they were able to get great push get off the line create a little bit of crease for that running back they just created a wall he had all kinds of room to run I might I might go back to that one and call that one again it worked so well how about that last big play you're packed up and now you've got it first and 10 from the 46 got him down Field open Runway ahead and he takes it all the way they couldn't stop him Sam houst you know quarterbacks and receivers they develop confidence and chemistry as the game goes on these two right now are definitely on the same page [Music] [Applause] they're going to throw it to start the drive get it out on the screen they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front wall to set up the screen and creat some lanes for their running back offense has it at the 28 on first down quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep really nice stop there from this senior leader well and on these little push passes timing is so important trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of a spot finally run out of bounds but he has his off rolling with a first down and now you just completely flipped how I play defense I'm not really worried about the quarterback running the football I'm like okay he's he's number three or four on my list of who I think can beat me but now he does that now it puts it in the back of my mind I got to think about it I got to stay home I got to stay discipled nice little nice little curve ball by the offense off he goes he's at the 10 and he SLI through the crowd and he'll house it touchdown beats every time we speak to defenses before they play [Applause] this from the shotgun now here's an inside G what a good run there he has enough for the first down and a great job by the offensive line you're going to run the ball right the middle you better control the line of scrimmage you can see the center the guard the tackles doing a good job getting on their guys just enough where this running back can get into space and make the big game they'll throw it on first down they're trying to get to it and they got him for the sack the defense coming up big there and the sack is great but the secondary deserves some credit too no doubt when you can cover like that in the secondary and drop back in your Zone and only Rush a few and you feel comfortable getting home and they're going to get to the quarterback that is a great feeling and that's fun to be a defensive coordinator calling the play Let's see what they find in the playbook for third and long from the 43 looking down field and he needs a bunch and they took a shot on that one but couldn't make the connection it's incomplete the quarterback just needs to settle down he looks like he's just looking to go up top on first down he's going to let one fly down the middle oh he gets down field for the big cat they'll finally put the brakes on him at the three a big throw catch and run on that one and with that pass right there over 300 yards that's a good day at the office being AAG in the end Z tats they've got the lead trying to put this one in a hammer here in week 10 he coming into the game you look at the stats and you say top 10 offense in scoring so they better be able to create what wide receiver coming across in motion to the air on first down fires one high and deep grabs it inside the 15 he'll be stopped just end Z but they'll have it first and goal and he shows you the arm right there but I tell you what I've been impressed with this young man and his ability to do both rush throw lead a team put up huge numbers in the top 10 touchdown Sam Houston and The Stomping has commenced when these offenses get in the Rhythm they're hard to stop already up early got a short field take advantage of it twoo get another touchdown this offense is doing whatever they want to do and having a lot looking to move it through the air forced out of the pocket he's going to run it at the 45 on his way big for this off as they get it to the 32 it's just so hard to stop there is no rhyme there is no reason he just scrambles around makes people miss and the next thing you know you look up and he's 20 30 yards down the field and there's nothing you can do about it from the gun the running back has it what a tough minded hard edged run he gets it to the 24 got eight on first down now looking at a second and two they'll Run play action lets it fly deep down field and good coverage and better Hands by the defender to knock it down in the end zone DB does an outstanding job here on the Deep pass locating the football no Pi able to swat it away pass incomplete on Third and short they keep it on the ground here and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down well as a defense you know this is going to be a challenge every time you face this offense they're one of the 25 best in the nation at getting first downs because they can pick them up in a variety of ways including touchdowns and the puming has started this is like a baseball pitcher that can't miss he is just pounding pounding pounding the strike zone just gets in the zone right and you can't miss you youve seen quarterbacks get like that no matter what they do they're on fire they're hitting the receivers and listen that's also on the defense the defense has to do a better job making feel uncomfortable changing what they're doing in coverage so he's a little bit confused you can't just let him pick you up off play action on first down looking to the big tight end got him and nobody's close touchdown Beats and the route is on the offense flexes its muscle a bit and widens the Gap take a little ex he'll come out throwing on first down he's right on Target and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage nice job defense you always hear people talk about tackling the catch you saw it right there there was nowhere for that receiver to go once he had possession as a result no game going to let it fly brings it down on the right side got a lot of Running Room touchdown Sam Houston and the beat down has ensued man the defense has got to be kicking themselves they have the offense pinned back so deep in their own end it's one thing to give up a completion but you can't let the receiver go the entire distance and score a touchdown the this is what you're looking for when you have the better team go out and show it don't fool around with them go out and play to a standard of exellence just dominant you know you're going to take care of business you know you're going to win it's it's like how many how many can I win by and I like that you keep your foot on the gas and just continue to pile it on it's their job to stop you let them do their job you just keep going on it's not about the x's and the O's it's the jimmies and the Joe's
