hello again I am bante and I just found out that Star Wars Outlaws has a secret locked away souped up GPU melting hyper Ultra over 9,000 graphic setting mode so in this Star Wars Outlaws video I'm going to show you how to unlock access to this secret settings menu a graphics setting Beyond Ultra and yes the urge to make a second dragon ball reference already right there is strong please just someone else type the word in into a comment down below anyway the graphics mode they call it thematically enough The Outlaw mode it's hidden away by Ubisoft as a future proofing thing for the game when the next generation of gpus come around presumably because it is so cripplingly demanding on system power hardly anyone will be able to use the damn thing want to see it well here it is Basque in its very slightly more impressive Beauty oh and go ahead and subs subscribe to this channel slam down or like on those thumb things down there and leave a comment letting me know what GPU you are using right now so we can all see just how many people will actually be able to run this pig of a mode the secret settings menu to access the outlaw Graphics mode can only be enabled by using a special launch argument Dash unlock Max settings all one word all lowercase and naturally this is for the p PC version only so if you're on console and you had your hopes up for a second there well that that that was a bit silly off you wasn't it don't you think so I mean come on buddy you're on the console come on buddy get your expectations in order anyway once you launch the game with this argument in place you'll find the new Outlaw Graphics quality preset in place just where you'd expect it to be but you can also Now find tune a bunch of settings with new maximum settings unlocked for each of them micro detail quality Shadow quality Spotlight Shadows Spotlight Shadow quality deformable terrain quality cinematic effects quality and all of the R Racing options get an extra Notch up too the result with all other factors being equal is one absolute kicking the Ghoulies for your graphics card my system here Cooks Along on a ryzen 7 7700x CPU an RX 7900 XTX Phantom gaming 24 GB OC GPU and 32 GB of ddr5 RAM with the system maxing out the game on the ultra defaults at 4K gets me into the 70s and 80s easily in the opening ax but the instant I flipped on the outlaw mode I lost somewhere in the order of 50 to 60% of my frame rate it is brutal that said if you are someone who can tolerate 30fps gaming in current year then sure you are actually still fine here because it can maintain 30 FPS minimum and to be frank if I did some side by side slowmo or freeze frame pixel peeping zoom in stuff I could point out all the little differences going on here well most of them I suppose but honestly in real time gameplay when you're you know concentrating on what you're doing in the game rather than how it looks specifically even side by side like this let's face it the differences are in a word subtle oh if you know what you're looking for you can spot it relatively easily in many scenes but really it's hardly an eyeball stunning difference is it and to be fair I did not expect it to be it is very often the case that you know that the peak end of the graphic settings the differences between a games say high and Ultra modes for example are already a lot more subtle than say low to medium setting comparisons just the nature of the beast but I do appreciate the extra juice on the r tracing not everyone will well there are people out there who I still see insisting that R Racing is is is just a gimmick and they can't even tell the difference whether it's on or off um I I'm I'm not one of those people and I earnestly do appreciate the extra immersion the extra atmosphere and possibly most importantly frankly the significant reduction in distracting artifacts that R tring brings over older more flawed more inaccurate or janky lighting Shadow and reflection techniques dodgy little Shadow maps and and and in particular screen space Reflections always I find really really distracting so having rate tracing do those instead and be physically accurate at all times oh I you have no idea how much I appreciate it in any case I am however not willing to slam down to 30 FPS or just to get it in games like this no thank you but I do want to keep as much of this as possible so I hopped back into the settings menu and started to tweak some stuff first cranking the FSR 3 upscaler to Performance mode instead of the quality mode in other words I'm moving from a 1.5 upscale to a flat 2x upscale I also turned on the frame generation as while the other settings I tweaked did make a big enough difference it wasn't quite enough to consistently nail it at 60 FPS so this helps smooth out the presentation even more so when you are looking at the comparative gameplay uh remember the true frame rate being pushed is half of what is actually being displayed and that's the frame rate that dictates the feel of the game even though the frame generation helps with visual fluidity and the tiny bit of input lag that frame gen inevitably causes just by nature of how it works isn't really a big issue in in in this title and this gameplay style you're not relying on sort of twitch reflexes here but as you've been seeing just these few tweaks to some of the more subtle or frankly unnoticeable settings especially the shadow stuff that's always the first thing you want to go to when you're trying to tweak Graphics settings but with that I've moved from the low to mid-30s up to the low 90s again remember the true rendered frame rate before frame generation little gimmick is half so the game feels more like 45 FPS even if it looks smoother and the mid-40s is what I would consider to be a sort of a flaw for uh enjoying this game and this gameplay style uh properly although of course in a YouTube video you folks are seeing 60 FPS which you can also manually cap the game at uh to keep it very consistent if you like and using the frame generation to sort of help pad that out which I will be doing for streaming anyway just to avoid you know tearing issues that can happen with that particular setup yeah with the outlaw settings slightly tweaked and with the frame gen a little more juice from FSR the game looks amazing feels good runs smooth looks crispy and again while often very subtle it's still nice the world detail it's all about that immersion and atmosphere man I am off now to be a space scoundrel or I guess at least I will be once I start actually playing this thing for real and proper on Twitch live streams tomorrow I really really want to keep playing this but I keep replaying the opening act doing these these these these Graphics testing videos like this every time I do a little recording session for one of these tests I'm like I I just want to keep playing man I just want to keep playing good I'm holding off for the streams so pumple follow over on Twitch if you want to hang out for that uh otherwise see you out there space cowboy whoops wrong sci-fi again just can't help myself thanks for watching I bloody thank you patrons
