Tennessee Titans 2024 Schedule Preview | Titans 2024 NFL Picks, Predictions and Best Bets

if I'm talking about the Tennessee Titans I'm talking about rebuilding and we talk about rebuilding some of these rebuilding jobs happen really fast look at the M Ryans and the Houston Texans last year he walked into a rebuild situation with a rookie quarterback and ends up winning the division and look where they are this year Houston among the real contenders in the AFC the Titans are really hoping for something like that this season I'm not convinced that's going to be the case Teddy covers wager talk.com with a video talking about the Tennessee Titans for 2024 season previews I'm doing season preview videos for all 32 NFL teams on the way to talk a YouTube channel and Tennessee is expected to be a bottom feeder this year I think the Broncos are supposed to be worse the Giants are supposed to be worse the Panthers are supposed to be worth but Tennessee ranked amongst that level of teams and of course it's a first year firsttime head coach and Brian Callahan it's a first year firsttime offense coordinator in Nick Holtz it's a first year firsttime defense coordinator in dard Wilson so this is a relatively immature coaching staff that said Brian Callahan the head coach brought in his dad Bill to coach the offensive line and you say who's the best o coach in the NFL Bill gallan might be that guy we expect at least some improvement from Tennessee uh turns of the line this year was an absolute disaster last year but it's certainly a situation where we're talking a major rebuild all right they brought in seven freea veterans they're hoping free agent veterans hoping they're all going to be starters um so it's not a team that team with lots of holes to fill talk about will Lis he's not a rookie but last year what he throw 255 pass attempts eight touchdowns 1,00 yards he certainly has weapons to throw to the this year look at this Calvin Ridley DeAndre Hopkins I mean uh Tyler Boyd that's a pretty good Trio all right you know ay Spears Troy po running the football you don't need Derrick Henry anymore they have weapons they have a Young quarterback with a big arm now Lis again was a guy who was the project not anyone we expected to walk into the NFL and be as successful as I'm using Houston as an example CJ Stout was last year but he's not a rookie anymore and he has real weapons on the outside the question for the Tennessee Titans this offensive line has been the worst in the NFL the last two years I mean it really has does Callahan matter it's rebuilt offensive line again this year they brought in the free agent center Lloyd cushenberry the left tackle with the number one pick JC letham out of Alabama the last year's number one pick left guard P gransky he was hurt all year so in theory this offensive line a has some talent and B should be way better and if the offensive Line's way better guess what the whole team's better and the quarterback the young quarterback's better but for me the the handicap of the Tennessee Titans starts right there up front if that offensive line lives up to the expectations they have for it they're going to overachieve if it doesn't well again we're talking about a team that went a 111 in 12 games 2019 2020 2021 the last two years seven and six wins so they've certainly trended in the wrong direction and the offensive line this year has a big my mind a huge impact on what lead is going to look like uh at the QB position if he has time might be pretty good given that receiving core if he doesn't have time and doesn't have a running game it'll be another ugly season in Nashville let me talk about the defense in just a minute first I do want to let you guys know what's going on wagertalk.com the reason these are coming out in July early July you know the first second week of July as we we're getting best of the number and stuff doesn't change in the NFL the way it does in football what you see in many camps after the draft after re agency and what we're going to see on the field in again in 2024 five selections available right now w. Buzz backc so this defense for Tennessee was pretty awful last year the worst was creating turnovers they had only six interceptions for this season only eight fumble recoveries for the season when your defense only forces 14 turnovers in 17 games that's not good all right so a lot of makeovers for a team that need a lot of makeovers quarterback makeovers right they traded for larius Sneed the frent signing of chido azi they drafted jerus brownley Roger mccu is back as a nickel so lots of new starters in the secetary the pass rush was pretty awful last year number two pick this year is a no tackle to Andre sweat out of Texas he can put some pressure on the line of scrimmage defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons was a pro bowler last year on a bad defense but the pass rush is really a concern Tennessee with a lot of holes to fill this off season pass rush looks to be one that they weren't able to fill particularly well and what does that mean that means they got a blitz what happens when you Blitz leave your secondary open for big plays this team might well be an over team given the state of their receiving court if they're chucking the football around downfield so again number 31 in takeaways last year what do I here's my notes what I wrote There's Hope here and holes uh lean over before under when it comes to Tennessee's season wins there's hope there's holes this is clearly the weakest team in the AFC South and you ask me where Tennessee is going to finish I'll say last place we look at their schedule and again the league is not doing Tennessee a whole lot of favors they have a brutal start they have a very early buy a week five buy which you don't mind within a fresh coaching staff and again when you have an offensive line Guru like Callahan maybe they early buy help so maybe this team can overachieve but man uh it's not easy look at the Ries at Chicago at Miami at Buffalo at Detroit at the ch ERS that's their first five in the highway I don't know how many of those are going to win I'll take the under uh the AFC South faces AFC East and NFC North again two divisions that are relatively tough their three extra games are reasonable the Chargers uh the commanders and the Bengals not a nightmare and interesting to see cahan of course with the option quter in Cincinnati the last five years he'll get to face his old team so again scheduling standpoint it's not easy and that brutal start really concerns me because when you have a bad team and they got off to a bad start it gets to be all right pack it in time by November not say pack it in but we're only playing the youngsters we're not worried about uh getting any more wins this year so we lean Tennessee under so do the markets it's not like this team's getting a whole lot of Market support and yet I keep saying I kind of like them I leave over for under Le under four over clearly I'm all over the map with Tennessee on a week and week week out basis I think we may be able to cash over Bets with the Titans given the state that they've got some Playmakers on the opposite side of the football and on the defensive side of the ball there's a lot of holes but again when your power rating teams coming to the season Tennessee they're bottom five Squad and those aren't necessarily the type of teams you're going to make a whole lot of money with thank you so much for watching appreciate click that like if you like the free content that waiter talk.com is giv you be sure to click that next video on the screen uh doing NFL team previews for all 32 squads we're doing them early here in July so you guys can get the best of the number so appreciate the likes appreciate the follows and appreciate all the comments below thanks for watching wager talk TV and stay tuned for another NFL preview video coming up right next cheers
