Intro the Baltimore Ravens have been one of the most stable organizations in the NFL over the course of the last couple of decades certainly we talk about John Harbaugh he's now the second longest tenured head coach uh in the NFL behind only Mike Tomlin but this past off season Baltimore lost both coordinators three offensive linemen and they did something last year in the NFL that had never been done before defensively I'm not convinced it's going to happen again 2024 let's talk about the Baltimore Ravens when it comes to their season win prediction Teddy covers waiter talk.com and Baltimore has been real good I mean look at the last five years they won 14118 10 and 13 games they've been in the mix just about every year this year right now we're seeing Baltimore lined basically about 11 win te there are some variance with the Ravens but the markets expect them to be elite once again and certainly you know we're talking about Lamar Jackson who's been the NFL MVP twice in the last five years including last year Lamar Jackson 58 and 19 as a regular season starter man he's been really good and the Ravens have been really good with him not much in terms of the backup if Jackson gets hurt they have 38-year-old Josh Johnson behind him one of a number of areas where Baltimore has been dealing with some salary cap concerns they've been in the playoffs five of the last six years offense coordinator well Greg Roman is gone Todd monin is in last year and of course last year Mon's first year with number four in points number one in rushing yards number three in yards per pass attempt and that's and a big Improvement they were number 26 in that regard in 2022 so the offense got a heck of a lot better last year Ravens Offense but this year again you have Lamar coming off an MVP season he's not gonna play better big concerns in the offensive line at least for this better three starters gone that's a lot you know uh certainly have Tyler lindom a pro bowler last year Who's Back Ronnie Stanley's back but Ronnie Stanley's missed 38 games over the last four years he struggled last year this offensive line if you're asking me what's my biggest concern about the Ravens is that because B has been a run first team they've been loaded on the aive line for the better part of the last decade plus this year there are some legit questions now the receiving course you know I me Z flowers Rashad baitman who's had a great offse season and everything I've been reading about him is positive Mark Andrews at tight end is a stud Isaiah likely really stepped up last year there's certainly things to like even the free agent addition of Derrick Henry who again running backs or a dime it doesn't doesn't matter der Henry is a guy who can get a yard when you need it uh he's the biggest free agent signing this offs and of course he's led the league in carries four times the last five years and he's 30 years old I'm convinced that Derrick Henry's best days are behind him but Baltimore needs a yard derck Henry can get a yard on a pretty consistent basis so again this Season Win Report offense looks pretty good uh on paper I don't know if it's going to be quite as good as last year but it's certainly not a unit that we come to the season big concerns everywhere the opp of lines where the concerns are I don't have a whole lot of concerns about my season the NFL so it ain't happening again this year the first defense in the history of the NFL to lead in lead the league in sacks points allowed and takeaways in the same season they have 31 takeaways last year uh number one in turnover margin plus 12 uh for this season they were dominant obviously the pass rush was there and when you're not giving up points that also means your offense isn't turning the ball over themselves so that to me is a trifecta that's hard to come up with two years Rog the first team in the history of the league to lead in sack points allowed to takeaways in the same season it ain't happening again this year they're likely to decline in all three categories you have a new defensive grator in the former inside linebackers coach Zack or he's never called plays before he's only 32 years old certainly someone who has potential as a play caller but first year first time DC new position coaches on all three levels on the defense as well you have three Pro bowls returning for Baltimore you know the defensive tackle Justin manduk manab buuk then the linebacker ran Smith and of course the safety Kyle Hamilton Marlon Humphrey the quarterback he's a former pro bowler Miss eight games last year should be healthy this time around defensive tackle Michael Pearson Elite run stuffer he's back but you lost a couple of key pieces Davon Clowney Patrick Queen Patrick Queen signed with division Rial Pittsburgh which is definitely a concern for this better I don't think the pass rush will be quite as good this year I'm not convinced the secondary will be creating quite as many takeaways certainly when you're talking about uh of course the number one pick out of Clemson the quarterback Nate Wiggins he's going to help in that regard and of course Justin Tucker is the best kicker in the NFL still uh 90% field goals in his career he's the best he's the best and Baltimore is good you know from inside 60 yards those three points that Tucker gets them on all those 50 plus yards field goals they matter both straight up and against the spread that said again we're talking about a defense that was historical last year we have to expect at least a modest decline especially losing all those coaches and coordinators on the side of the football there has been something of a you know this what what happens when you're a successful organization your coaching staff gets raided and that's what happened to Baltimore this past off season and again when the defense was number four in points and number one in rushing and number three in yards per pass attempt from a statistical standpoint I expect the Ravens to get worse plain and simple from a scheduling standpoint this team has five night games and a Saturday game and a Christmas Day game certainly the League's not bearing them they have a tough start to the season really tough right out of the gate I wouldn't be shocked if they go two and three one and four coming out of the gate the AFC North Faces AFC West and NFC east teams their three extra games the Ravens Baltimore at Tampa at Houston tough but not ridiculously tough look week 14 by I don't think it's great there's a lot of signs pointing down for the Ravens I don't like fading Elite organizations but if I to play Baltimore this year we' be looking at the Ravens on under their season thank you so much for watching wager
