THE NEWS LEADER FOX, FOR A 22 YEAR OLD DALLAS MAN SAID HE WAS KNOCKED OUT COLD WHEN THE DRIVER OF A TRUCK HIT HIM FROM BEHIND. HELLO, EVERYBODY. I'M HEATHER HAYES. AND I'M STEVE EAGER. IT'S 9:00. THAT DRIVER SPED OFF, LEAVING HIM BLEEDING ON THE SIDEWALK. DALLAS POLICE RELEASED THESE IMAGES OF THE BLACK DODGE TRUCK THEY'RE LOOKING FOR TONIGHT. THE CRASH HAPPENED ON AUGUST 11TH, AND THE YOUNG MAN WAS RIDING A SKATEBOARD HOME AFTER VISITING A FRIEND. WE TALKED TO FOX FOUR'S PEYTON YEAGER, AND SHE HAS THE STORY TONIGHT. PEYTON HAD MORE THAN TWO DOZEN STAPLES DOWN HIS LEG AND ON HIS HEAD. HE JUST HAD THOSE STAPLES REMOVED EARLIER THIS WEEK. BUT HE STILL HAS A METAL ROD IN HIS LEG. DALLAS POLICE RELEASED THESE SURVEILLANCE STILLS, AND THEY'RE HOPING THAT THE PUBLIC CAN LEAD TO TIPS COMING INTO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF A BLACK DODGE RAM WITH FRONT END DAMAGE. TAKE A LOOK AS JULIAN BARRERA IN HIS HOSPITAL BED EARLIER THIS MONTH. I HAVE TO RELY ON THE CRUTCHES A LOT. YEAH. AND THIS IS HIM WEDNESDAY. AND THEN THERE'S STAPLES RIGHT HERE. THE STAPLES AT THE ANKLE. THE 22 YEAR OLD IS AT HOME RECOVERING BUT STILL IN PAIN. WHEN I FIRST GOT HIT, IT WAS REALLY, REALLY BAD. I BROKE DOWN A COUPLE TIMES BECAUSE PAIN WAS. COULDN'T STAND IT. BARRERA WAS HIT BY A TRUCK WHILE RIDING HIS SKATEBOARD HOME FROM A FRIEND'S HOUSE IN THE LAKE HIGHLANDS NEIGHBORHOOD OF DALLAS ON AUGUST 11TH. THE TRUCK NEVER STOPPED. IT HAPPENED AT 2:20 A.M. ON AUDELIA ROAD. I WAS ON THE LANE CLOSEST TO THE SIDEWALK AND WOKE UP ON THE SIDEWALK, AND I WOKE UP. THERE WAS PEOPLE AROUND ME. THEY WERE TELLING ME IN SPANISH TO DON'T MOVE. CALM DOWN. COPS ARE COMING. AMBULANCES COMING. BARRERA BROKE HIS LEFT LEG AND WAS BLEEDING FROM HIS HEAD. HE TELLS US THE TRUCK HIT HIM FROM BEHIND AND HE BLACKED OUT. TUESDAY, DALLAS POLICE RELEASED THESE PHOTOS OF A BLACK DODGE RAM 1500 WANTED FOR THE HIT AND RUN. THE TRUCK'S LAST KNOWN LOCATION WAS AT A QUIKTRIP GAS STATION AT ROYAL LANE, AND 635. YOU CAN SEE DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK, A MISSING FRONT RIGHT LIGHT, AND RIGHT FENDER DAMAGE. HE WAS JUST LIKE, DRIVING, LIKE SO CASUAL. LIKE HE DIDN'T JUST HIT MY BROTHER. BARRERA'S OLDER SISTER, CASSANDRA BARRERA, HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DALLAS DETECTIVE ASSIGNED TO THE CASE. SHE SAYS HE SENT OVER THIS SURVEILLANCE VIDEO OF THE DODGE RAM DRIVING DOWN AUDELIA ROAD JUST SECONDS AFTER HER BROTHER WAS STRUCK. YOU LEFT MY BROTHER ON THE SIDEWALK BLEEDING, SO THAT PISSES ME OFF. LIKE, A LOT. AND IT ALSO, IT BREAKS MY HEART JUST BECAUSE I SEE HOW PEOPLE ARE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SOMEONE CAN BE SO EVIL. WE CHECKED IN WITH DALLAS POLICE THIS AFTERNOON. I KNOW THIS HAPPENED A FEW WEEKS AGO, AND THEY JUST POSTED THOSE PHOTOS YESTERDAY, BUT AS OF RIGHT NOW, NO ONE IS IN CUSTODY. NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE BARRERAS ARE ASKING ANYONE TO COME FORWARD WITH INFORMATION OR FOR THE DR
