Big Sur: A Nature Lover's Paradise

[Music] [Music] sign your name on my phone yeah 3:00 in the morning weeping going and going back and forth cuz we don't know better and I thought we'd be different if we were on to some good he keep dancing with the devil but he doesn't have a back now she'll be pulling away from the fire she go but I don't even try going in the deep in tonight tonight tonight I just want to love you I just want to love you I just want to love you I just want to love you today I'll be traveling solo or this weekend uh the plan is headed out to the BX sir Monteray County area we're going camp out at Andrew Mel uh State Park um they have a hik in Camp there so it's probably about A4 mile from the parking lot to carry your equipment your camping equipment down to the campground and and Camp there so so I started my journey last night um was about a three-hour drive to kind of cut half of the drive out to big sir um I didn't want to take 6 hours driving this morning to get out to Big Sir so uh I did about three of them last night so from Los Angeles I ended up at Los Hills off of Interstate 5 uh and the 46 so the 46 is kind of what takes you down to Paso Roz Los Roz that's the beginning portion of sort of where the Big Sir area kind of starts over by Herz Castle Cambria you know moral Bay all of that stuff down there so I pretty much drove last night about three hours like I said to cut half of the trip down so I think I got less than about three hours this morning to get fully all the way to Andre morela State Park where we'll be doing we'll be camping for the weekend um at their hiking Camp which is again like I said probably like a quarter of a mile to get your equipment there so he [Music] hey guys I'm still on the 101 here I have just passed the entrance way to the west gate of Pinnacles National Park which is by King City um I've been here before you guys maybe check it out if you are in this area and never visited Pinnacles before it's pretty cool um last time I came though I went through the West entrance the East entrance um you pretty much can't drive through the park so you kind of got to pick if you want to visit the West entrance gate side or the East entrance campgrounds and everything are on the east side so if you're going to be camping out there you're going to be going through the East Gate um but it's pretty cool uh I believe it was formerly a national monument and Barack Obama like 10 years ago declared signed a declaration to uh make it a national park um it's kind of known for or it's Pinnacles The Pinnacles are somewhat like the the things out at Bryson and they also it's like a habitat protection for the Condors like big wingspan Condors that fly around that area um but anyway I just thought it was cool to mention that along the way here on the 101 we do have another National Park called Pentacles national park with two G injures so if you're ever coming from the frisco San Jose area or La traversing you wanted to get a hike in um ideally Pinnacles would be like a nice place to stop maybe 3 hours walk around get a hit a trail or something like that [Music] [Music] so I'm about 6 miles from H Pacific Coast Highway in the Monteray area right now I'm on the scenic highway or byway Route 68 it's just a nice little ride um through like uh some rolling heels or whatever um I had the top open so it feels good today is a nice day looking forward to whatever else is going to have in store you guys stay tuned kind of [Music] [Music] you [Music] perfect so I make made it to the first Beach caramel River State Beach this is the first Beach along the pulloff from PCH off the 68 coming the back way around just some views of Carmel Valley they call it Carmel Valley By the Sea there some of the stuff ahead there so yeah just wanted to pull over kind of take a break for a minute breathe in some of the air but this is just one of a 100 more beaches along the way now that we've hit PCH so I'm going keep on pushing through got like another 30 minutes before I get where we supposed to be camping so yeah so I found another stop off at gaggo State Park this look like straight beach access walk down to the whoa watch where I'm filming and walking at give you a view of the place [Music] [Music] home [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] now for Li 105 radios have you.com or.com we from [Music] will match you with the break look at the camp around got some deer that is a presence here family of [Applause] three hey guys so in the back there we got 19 and 22 so that's 18 17 by the restrooms here at I can't see the number on the grill right there that's 15 so this must be 16 right there sorry guys I'm giving you a campsite tour of the Andro Melo uh hike in Campground again it's you kind of park your car in the general parking lot and it's just about a quarter mile hike over take about 10 minutes to this is my third trip to the car to grab some things so I haven't been filming the trail we kind of what it looks like to get over here that's number 11 that's 12 on the other side can't see the number right here this must be like seven or nine that's eight these are shaded restroom up in the front these were all booked right here though again on California Reserve california.gov you have the ability to reserve campgrounds like six months ahead being that this is the Big Sir area a popular area um yeah I booked this like in February six months ago from today probably like February 20 something and half of the sights were already fulled in so I'm assuming a bunch of people will be here tomorrow so this is six it's kind of got some trees some cover and put your entt and have a little privacy trash can right there I think this is five everybody always tries to get five it's always booked because you just got that little tree used to cover you with privacy from the at least one side of the campground but like I say as I start to hike back to the car I mean there's a few stairs and you got the first four up front so this is four water spout right there also got privacy from the back side 3 two and one are pretty much open in the front but what that means is less of a hike in For You especially if you carrying a lot of things is taking some additional steps to get towards the back it's a water spout here there's no restroom close up to these first ones you got to go back there by S or 8 but this is one kind of start making your way so again guys guys so I got the tent set up the Marite for person windows out doors open keep it cool got to lay my sleeping bag and sleeping pad down and we'll be ready to go so we like at the campground towards the afternoon in the [Music] restro Let's Pretend This isn't my life let's pretend it was a great night let's pretend that it was this morning Mak me some breakfast in a little while plan today will be well the first part of the morning is to do the Andrew Mel uh loop I think it consist of about 8.8 miles so I think we're going to do about 9 miles today coming back over to the campground um the trail is within the Park here just on the other side um so again like since it was such a long drive in yesterday just trying to maximize our time out here think we'll come back to the campground get situated I'm going to probably head out down PCH to Julian Fifer parenton co uh we'll go over to Fifer big sir and I'm going to try to find uh Fifer Beach which is a purple sand beach it's just some Road unmarked road on the right side of PCH going Southbound that you turn down but I haven't been able to kind of as I've been driving around see like okay that's the road right there so if I can figure out where Fifer Beach is I do want to go take a look at the purple sand beach but we're kind of going to take our time this morning um start the hike maybe at 9:00 so we probably be done at 12: get things situated and we'll go find us a restaurant to eat at today for lunch with some views so you guys stay tuned I'm going to enjoy my coffee here [Music] [Music] is the river oh they got the plank up a certain time of the year put it up yeah I think the first two times I came in March the water be too high for them to hat it up the current be too [Music] strong ni simple [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] hey guys so pretty much up the mountain ridge again we're doing I think it's like three Trails is known as the Andrew Mela uh loop I think this is going to be about 8 Miles we are approximately less than 2 miles into it probably was a 700t incline so far another 100 ft to go but I'll keep you guys updated so again this Trail kind of has multiple terrains we should be like in a forest with some red Woods in a minute then we kind of loop around and come back down towards the beach area and it kind of reicks off right here oh [Music] he [Music] d [Music] he [Music] [Music] say y'all I'll be picking the right Trails this was a good eight still got a ways to go like a good 8 Mile almost [Music] N I know it's bad for me he just wants my like he's attached to me me so what's standing in our way yeah he's got such power over me but I try to act cool but what standing in way he doesn't mind at all he hike coming down the ridge line back towards creamy Meadows back towards the campground I think we got maybe another two miles um I'm just at a rest blank now I'm going flip the camera around show you what view that I have here look at that y'all and no Big Sir is not overrated y'all are sleeping on it sleeping on Big Sir y'all can go ahead I'll take advantage of it yall think the road closure was causing Havoc out here and you couldn't get around to see anything and it's probably less of the crowds so I'll take it [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah I'm only if you're ready ready ready ready let's go water is freezing but it feel good on my feet my toes definitely like I say it breaks out to pretty much like a creek on this side one time out of 10 two you be mine we just can't pretend this love thing can take time three times then I'm in I heard through the gra lines you missing I play time girl m M your beauty make them bow down I need that body right now yeah the love will never die down together we can fly now hey guys I'm about 2 or 3 minutes from hitting the campground I kind of had stopped my watch when we were at the beach after the hike and that's about 8.6 miles and this this is probably from the beach we've hiked another mile and a half kind of just go ahead and say rounded to 10 miles for today this morning you know we were out about 6 hours at the park hiking you know we took 30 40 minutes chill off one of the cliffs and eat get some snacks in and then just had to go put my toes my feet in the cold water for a little while to get them back with some sensation in them so kind of feel way better I'll really be good when I get to the campground uh probably see how long it take I'm going to head out and maybe go over to Julian Fifer and get a picture by the waterfall that hits the beach and stop by paron Cove and do the little short hike there and probably hit a restaurant for some lunch late lunch it's almost lunchtime or dinner time in a little while but find somewhere with some great views to grab a bite and kind of just play it from here from there now we have a bunch of quail traversing the campground course it was deer yesterday Bobcat this morning all right guys so I just arrived at mcway Falls at Julian Fifer State Park took about 20 minutes to get down here from Andrew Melo enjoyed the little coast ride down uh from here if you continue southbound seem like there's about 4 to 4 and 1 half more miles before the actual close closure so again Julian Fifer is the furthest you can travel South down to try to do a trail or some type of pull off and see something um after this I'm going to maybe plan on doing parenting on the way back and then grab some food head back to the campground whatever time it is it is what it is just enjoying and out so you guys stay tuned I'll show you some views of mcway fall when I get over there it's just like a 5 minute walk from the parking lot but this is where the stream down below kind of crosses under this PCH and then it kind of comes out as a like a waterfall down onto the beach so you guys will see it I have walked for about 5 minutes and you should be able to come out from the tunnel that's when we should get an Immaculate view of ready come out the tunnel and the fall is over there we're going to come a little where you can get a better view of it just probably a few more feet down to the end here kind of zoom over and give you guys a view of the waterfall this tampers on down to the beach that's the waterfall water take time three times then I'm in I heard
